  • Valid for buying giftcards from LL (bought 2x $100) and Witchery (bought 2x $100) - tried these 2 today. Again tried CR's gc today. for all I received email almost immediately.

  • "Statement credit may not be applied to your Card Account if it has been suspended or cancelled and may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned or cancelled."

Has anyone ever had their statement credits reversed due to a refund?

    • I'm wondering this too.

    • +2

Yes, several times. Refunded part of a purchase at target, and the credit statement was almost immediately reversed. Damned wife keeps changing her mind about stuff.

      • But only part of a purchase?

        • +1

Yes. Didn't just buy the one item. But I think as long as the qualifying transaction is modified in any way the credit is nulled.

        • @zzyss: Ah that makes sense then! Thanks.

  • For maccas,

If we do separate transactions like $8 in 2 different transactions, Do we get the cash back?

  • Just confirming I have received statement credits for my liquor land gift card purchases.

Have not received any credits yet for my David jones gift cards purchases. It's been 2 working days though.

    • Were your gift cards electronic delivered via email?

      • ordered physical gift cards online last week
no email confirmation but credit received today.

        • did you try cashrewards with the order? and did it work?

        • Oh you did online and received credit?! Thought it wouldn't work if you bought gift cards online (as they can track and gift cards excluded as per T&Cs?)

        • did not try cash rewards but again confirm physical DJ cards bought online and credits through today

also can confirm liquorlandland purchase of coles myer $100 physical gift cards instore .
credits also received to account several days later but no confirmation emails.

  • +6

I can also confirm the following:

    • LiquorLand: I have received the $15 statement credit by purchasing $100 of Coles Myer Gift Cards (surprisingly, I was able to tap for it too. I thought tap was limited to <$100 purchases)
    • 7-Eleven: I have received the $5 statement credit by purchasing $20 of Opal top-up
    • HotelClub: I have received the $40 statement credit by making a hotel booking of ~$206 (I did not go through PayPal)
    • David Jones Online: I have received an email confirming that I have qualified for the statement credit with a purchase of $299.95. I went through CashRewards, and I did not pay through PayPal (i.e. I entered my credit card details directly into the page)
    • For AMEX and MASTERCARD contactless purchase, maximum is $100,not like VISA.

      • +1

Very interesting. Did not know that..
So Visa's maximum is $99.99 for PayWave
and for Mastercard and AMEX the maximum is $100.00 for PayPass (same thing different name)

    • Did you buy DJ guftcard online? Did you get 7% reward from cash Rewards?

      • I went through the Qantas mall for mine, got me 1000 points. Not as good as cash for most, but handy for the accumulators amongst us.

        • Thanks for your update. I was going to do the same.

      • I didn't buy a gift card. I actually bought an item.

        • I bought an item and a gift card this afternoon in one order and got Amex email straight away. Will wait to see if qantas points are on the way.

        • @fkwong: I actually just did that too. But 2x items + a gift card and got the Amex email immediately, but used CashRewards instead of Qantas Mall.
So if CashRewards is "working" correctly, it should only work for the non-gift card portion..

        • @illumination: nice try. It would be interesting to see if CashRewards is "working" correctly. Please keep me posted on the progress. Thanks.

        • @illumination: did you check if CashRewards is working for non giftcard portion only? How long does it take to rebate into your account?

        • @fkwong: Haven't even got an email about having the transaction recorded yet…
I'm finding that CashRewards and PricePal are actually both very unreliable (with CashRewards being slightly better).

edit: I stand corrected.. It's actually been recorded but I did not receive an email this time. It shows on the whole amount including gift card, but still has the clock logo under next to the cashback value (meaning still pending verification), so it is very possible they might adjust the amount to only be on the non-gift card portion.
They do take a long time to verify though. Up to 8 weeks from memory?

        • @illumination: thanks for the update. I am still waiting for the points from Qantas mall, but it would take a month. Also, I might try to order DJ online thru Rewards Central, they offer 2 points for $1 spent.

        • @fkwong: Rewards Central? New? Never heard of them.

        • @illumination: No it is not new, I have been using it for more than 10 years. If you are interested to join, PM me your name and email address and I send you referral email.

        • @illumination: I finally got all the points from Qantas mall today on gift cards and non gift card. Did you get anything from CashRewards?

  • Good deal for mobile recharge for 7/11 and Harvey Norman.

  • Just got sent an offer of 5x points on Liquorland purchases with Flybuys. Pity gift cards are excluded, but good if somebody was gonna buy something other than gift cards or ciggies. Valued at $2.50 Flybuys dollars per $100 purchase.

  • anyone knows IF coles / target / kmart sell woolworths giftcard ?

    • +2

Lol that's almost as bad as "Does Google Play Store have any iOS apps?"

But I am going to assume the answer is a comprehensive no.

      • -1

Bro. My local bigw do sell coles myer gift card.

Your sarcasm not really hit the point.

        • +2

I'm almost willing to bet that if you check you'll find that they're just Myer gift cards and not Coles Myer…

        • If you're actually right then fair enough I am sorry.
But I agree with zzyss, because Big W and Woolies are effectively the same, and I know Woolies sell Myer Gift Cards.
Sounds highly unlikely that Big W would sell Coles gift cards.

        • @illumination: The only way you could likely get them out, is if one of the Woolies chains had non-WISH giftcards, in the same way Myer gift cards are non-Coles group. Or, if one of the other chains whose gift cards you can by in Coles Group/Myer stores (JB or David Jones etc) sold WISH cards.

A bit of a long shot to find that connection point backwards to WISH, even though it's easy enough going the other way with Myer cards.

        • @JohnHowardsEyebrows:

"A bit of a long shot to find that connection point backwards to WISH, even though it's easy enough going the other way with Myer cards."

But I think the buck stops there, because you can't buy Coles Myer gift cards using Myer gift cards, right?

        • @zzyss: Of course you can. Myer sells CM cards. Buy something for a buck (remaindered odd sock or something), and they'll let you swap them.

        • @JohnHowardsEyebrows:

Good to know. Thought that trick only applied to self-checkouts at the supermarkets.

        • @zzyss: To be honest I don't even know if they'll stop you doing a straight swap. I swapped a CM gift card for a DJs one at Target, no questions asked.

        • +3

@JohnHowardsEyebrows: I actually tried converting a Myer Gift Card to a CM Gift card the other day. I even went to a few different checkout people because some would say "no" (understandably), so I went to one who was willing to try put the transaction through for me.
The payment failed. So I tried to swipe my Myer Card of $50 when paying for a CM Card of $50, but it wouldn't go through.

  • hi guys - if this avaibale for just one card per account or can i have cards from diferent banks and have the cash back multiple times? has anyone done this successfully? Thanks

  • anyone know whether the HN discount can be applied if I purchase a Miele dishwasher in HN stores at all? I heard you normally pay Miele directly even if make the purchase in stores like HN, BingLee, etc.

    • I'd like to add does HN allow you to "split payment"? Have 3 AMEX (Primary + 2 supps) and can get $150 cashback in total on a $900+ purchase.

    • Not sure, but Amex is so customer service orientated that if the cash back didn't appear after an applicable purchase, they will credit you after a call. Their good will is amazing.

      • Yes, but how do you call them if your card is bank issued? There's no contact provided for Amex Connect.

        • i recently called amex regarding a glitch registering on the amexconnect site…
very helpful, checked the registrations and could answer any questions regarding amexconnect.
just give them a call and be gentle.

  • Is there any way to buy gift card at DJ Online with free delivery?

Seems they charge $5 for delivery - and no pickup option.

  • Bad news: I spent $22 at Maccas on Saturday and never got an email.
Good news: The transaction hasn't shown up on my credit card (well, yet… but normally they appear very quickly).

    • I spent $20.60 at Maccas on Saturday and the transaction's shown up, but not the cashback. But then again, I'm not 100% sure I registered the deal on the card that I used. Oops, oh well.

      • The transaction and the cashback appeared today. No email though.

    • I found that if you use paypass/paywave, the email is not normally sent.

To avoid that, insist inserting/swiping the card. :)

      • Bingo. I did use paywave for that transaction.

  • My Amex issued card does not show hotelclub offer. Can anyone tell me how to register it manually?

  • Can anyone please report success at Liquorland express? I found no reference to whether it's all Liquorland stores, or just the main ones. Thanks!

  • Purcahsed some things from HN yesterday, didn't receive an e-mail notification. Hopefully I receive the statement credit.

  • anyone have the direct link to register for the DJ buy $50 get $15 credit offer?

  • Both the 99c and 1.00 items out of stock at DJ to add to beat some of the postage for the GC
Best I can find is $2.95 toy car..

    Anyone can find cheaper ?

    • Scroll a few posts up. There are links for 2 items for 50c each.

      • thanks ..been searching..must have missed them

      • damn…wasted 49c three times….thanks again

  • lol, went to country road today, intended to buy 2 items then figured out total would be $99.90, just 10c short. searched around store there is nothing else cheap at all, cheapest was socks for $15. decided no point to spend extra to get the $20 credit back

    • +2

You could have bought CR giftcard $100 and use it to pay for your $99.90

      • -1

and then forfeit 10c…not a true ozbargainer..

        • +1

:) that would make me a 99.90% ozbargainer

  • New deals:
BOSE - Spend $195 or more, get $25 back
VIRGIN AUSTRALIA HOLIDAYS - Spend $1,000 or more, get $100 back

  • +1

Anybody get a phone call from DJ's to 'confirm address'? Thought it was a bit odd, then she asked me how I paid for the order….don't know why that would be necessary. Is it possible they're doing some kind of audit on gift card purchases made to take advantage of the promo? (I've already got the confirmation email, but they could still reverse).

    • Always a possibility.
Personally worth taking the risk as nothing to lose.

      • Credit hit my account today. Will have to wait and see if they do a reversal for gift card purchases.

        • got CR credit in my account today with giftcard purchase

    • Same thing, and then she asked "was it because of the promotion"…

Have to wait and see if they reverse the credit (I already received it so hope not…)

      • did you apply for the straight $200 or add a small item ?

        • $1 item.

    • So you bought $200+ worth of DJ's Gift Cards off their online store and you got the statement credit?
Did you buy anything else with it or just the gift cards?

  • Anyone bought HN egift card and get the credit ?

  • Hi! I'm newbie. I just have a commonwealth amex card. So my card can't register at https://global.americanexpress.com. Is that right?

  • There was a new Woolies offer spend $30 and get $10 back when I checked my Amex cards this afternoon. I saved them all to my cards. :-)
