Little side note

To all ozbargainers, please be as kind as you can to all Big W staff. Can you imagine them searching for each game in the draw then when they go put it in the cases, they go back to their register and see another 5+ people waiting in line just to do it all again with the next customer? You got some others who aren't interested in the deal (like people who have to get their digital photos printed) and some of them may get impatient. This causes big stress for both the staff member and the customer. Please praise them for their efforts as thats the least we can all contribute.

      I was at Greenhills Big W today, and wanted to buy one of the two remaining 2DS bundles, went to get money out but they were both gone minutes later when I returned. I should have made them hold one, you were just too fast for me apparently haha!

    well looks like someone uncovered my stashed copy of the wonderful 101 at chullora… kudos to you on the discovery, probably didn't help i hid it behind some PC games that ended up all being reduced to a dollar so that whole section ended up being raided as well

    anyway, picked up a few bits n pieces left over… managed to score a disney infinity and skylanders swap force starter kit, a loose copy of NFS rivals, pokemon ruby/sapphire guide book, and the white turtle beach headset for wii

    i also popped into EB on my way home and the two guys in front of me were trading in piles of games still with the big w stickers on them… had about 20 each with a fair few doubles/triples, think they ended up getting over $250 trade value towards pre-orders

    Went to Blacktown at 7pm and nothing left… the staff member said all got cleaned out around 9am.. they a few xbox one consoles all gone….that's what l get for working a 7am morning shift…looking for and hoping hoping hoping i can get an XBOX one for that price somewhere anywhere…

    Still about 30 copies each of Gears of War (X360) and Black Ops (PS3) and some other crap at Big W on the corner of Cross Rd and Goodwood Rd in Adelaide. Staff were restocking when I got there but just for those 2 games. All the good stuff is gone.

    a big (profanity) YOU to the couple at BIG W Narre Warren this afternoon with the shopping trolley loaded to overflowing, I hope the 55 copies of PS3 Black Ops 2 sit forever in your pile of things to sell. So much for the average Joe wanting to pick up some cheap stocking fillers for their kids.

    EDIT: It'd be really nice if stores implement a limited number of same items on sale policy for sales / clearances like this. Sure, you'll still see the ebay resellers bring in their friends and family, but it'll make it more difficult for them if each person is limited to buying only 2-3 copies of the same game / item. Come on retailers, show some backbone and spirit for actually helping out your average customer, instead of the greedy resellers.

      Went into the Local this morning and overheard the manager telling another customer that two lads from EB came in yesterday and cleared the whole lot. Gumtree has a few ads up of people selling the $3 games for $20-30.

        Yeah thats what the nice lady at big w helped me to search for those $3 leftover crappy game disc told me too. Staff from EB came that afternoon price went alive took almost all the good titles but she had to serve them as customers. Now i kind of regret not getting South Park Stick of Truth for $20 when it went on first round of clearance in Dropzone.

    Just look at the amount of games people are selling to try to get a quick buck ( gumtree and ebay ) some of the prices are just ridiculous considering they got it for about 3 per product, could have been a little less greedy and let the people get the games they want for cheap, instead of hoarding the same game titles.

    I got my games but feel bad for the people who came after the bulk purchasers.

      That's my issue with it. I can understand them buying and maybe looking for a little profit as they got in early, but selling the consoles for double what they paid at $400 and above and with some story about it being 'an unwanted gift' or a 'raffle prize', and also selling the games for $20 when they cost $3 is just bad tastes. Ruins it for those who genuinely wanted this stuff.

      I missed an XB1 by 1 person in line and an asian couple were literally grabbing everything (games, accessories) for every console and weren't leaving staff alone. They single handedly made the staff not want to help anyone else.

      I managed to get 4 games and a start up pack for XB1 (which I still do not own yet). I hope they get theirs and the flooded market will show people that something is a miss and they can't sell them, at least straight away anyway.

    A big shoutout to the guy at Doncaster who had a trolley full of at least 100+ only crappy leftover games like More Brain Training, Bass Fishing, PS2 Bratz and generic Wii/DS games. Hope you kept your receipt because you're going to have trouble selling all that.

    Toowoomba, QLD store still had 10 or more of the $50 2DS Pokemon Y bundles when I had a look around 6:30 last night.

          "Battler" is a relative term, and people spend their money on all sorts of worse things like cigarettes, drugs and alcohol. I'd rather see them get a $3 Xbox 360 than breaking into houses to support a drug habit.

Years ago I had my first Xbox360 which suffered from the dreaded RROD… then only a year or so later I had the funds to pay for the xbox 4gb bundle with RWC 2011…and that was at less than $140.. point is I'm not rich but I depend on sale stock to be able to purchase consoles. and 90% of my games (other than say the NBA 2K and FIFA series which I buy annually) come from when I purchase purchase them at stock take sales… unfortunately if I had the money I would have got the PS4 when it first got released like other early adopters but I'm not rich….

    @leen92 they are not getting out of the games business according to staff at Blacktown. The XBOX and XBOX one consoles were only discontinued stock as were all the other games I believe…

    I think they were discounted as the digital download with the games was going to expire, so they thought to move them on otherwise the bundle is useless. I don't see them making it that low ever again, even if they do something similar in the future.

      This is likely the case as I was lucky enough to secure an XB1 Fifa 15 bundle and the game is a digital download code only that expires on 30th June 2015 (11 days left!!).

      I've set it up and downloaded it now, so anyone who got a bundle check your digital game download expiry ASAP!!!

      If anyone has sniper elite 3 or dead rising 3 (for XB1) and wants to trade let me know!

    How did I miss this? I think I skimmed past the title because I don't have an Xbox One and I don't like Pokemon. The title should have mentioned other deals like crazy cheap consoles. I was at Big W yesterday and picked up a $3 genuine iPad case down from $87, but didn't look at consoles. Being a regional store, there might be a slim chance. I'll head back in soon.

      I went back and got another couple of iPad mini cases. They didn't have many games, but I spotted South Park for PS3 (I don't have a PS3). Only consoles on display were 500gb 360 and xbox One Assassin's Creed Unity bundle, which I assume weren't discounted. I really should have checked, but I was in a rush (popped out of work).

    As much as I love Ozbargain…I think the site has now become almost too popular for its own good. Scalpers/profiteers live off it. Unfortunately, we do live in a free society and there is nothing to prevent these people from doing what they do. I hope they never get a chance to resell the junk games that they bought.

    From the retailers point of view, they are not going to place a limit on these type of clearances. They are more than happy to clear their shelf space.

    Maybe the OP should consider not posting offers like this too early. It gives those scalpers too much time to organise. At least post once the sale is actually on so it gives everyone an opportunity.

    Jonecski I don't think this will refrain the profiteers at all, as all they need to do is skull drag a trolly behind them. I remember ozb 7-8yrs ago it was great, plenty of bargains. Our local bigw had 5 xbone, and a guy behind me yells out he wants two and I explained there's more than a dozen ppl waiting inline for one, and if he takes two I will buy it all. That shut him up.

    Something I just thought of - Some people might have just bought and Xbox or PS4 recently and paid full price. So now they buy the cheaper one and sell it on to make it cheaper for themselves.

    I can live with the above, just not people solely looking to profiteer from it.
