You reckon this was cheap, well check this out! Found this in the new BIG W Total Toy Domination Sale catalogue which starts ~~next Thursday~~ 25th June. Please don't ask how I got it so early LOL. If I have time, I'll scan and post the whole catalogue tomorrow. Now off to the footy. Enjoy :)

Sunshine Big W (Vic) were out of stock yesterday, asked about the 532 deal, they didn't want a bar of it and hadn't heard about this apparent memo about the deal. The bloke said to come back today as they may have the deal confirmed and they put aside 2 532's for me just in case (they were quite helpful, apart from selling me the 532's at the lower price). Went back today to try my luck and they were stocking the shelves with a HEAP of 530's, so I grabbed two. I then went to Watergardens Big W and asked if they had any 530's, they said no but we can offer you the 532 at same price(this was without prompting),so I grabbed three (2 for the kids and a backup for me), the lady also told the other staff member there that he should do that deal for anyone wanting the 530. I then went and got refund for the 530's. Seems it is hit and miss as to wether the store honours the 532 thing, but also seems stores are being restocked with plenty of units now, so may be a moot point, I reckon there was about 25 put out under the counter when I was at Sunshine.

Called yesterday, no stock. I asked when, rep said don't know. Went to BigW today anyway and saw heaps of 530 and 532. Was hoping to do a 532 price match but could not as 530 still available (532 is $99). Bought 2 using just one EDR card.

Note: Unlike the Woolies one, this has no spare back case. You only get a black back case - which is as shown on its cardboard container. No microSD. Would have preferred the Kmart or DSE one but no stocks. For an extra $10 for the Kmart/DSE, you get an unlocked phone and 3 months free Netflix.

  ps. The Lumia 530 from Kmart or Dick Smith comes as an Optus locked phone. I don't know where you got the idea of you get an unlocked phone from.

Just went back from BigW Casuarina, NT. They had about 12 Lumia 532 and none of 530 left. The staff told me that the price for 532 was $19. However, I didn't buy any because I'm happy with my 530.

Any updates on how to unlock it.. I want to use it on Lyca just for overseas calling..even though Lycas services are on telstra network it isnt working… I am sure somebody must have cracked the code..

      I called telstra for 1.4 hrs arguing untill they did it fot free..
      Then thought, ask one person you know who is with telstra on avplan, and ask if the can just call to have it unlocked.
      I did this years ago with my brother, he just said he wanted a cheap phone to travel overseas with to china (where telstra wont roam)

Those who got the 532, what are your thoughts compared to the 530? Plenty to read on the internet, but personally I tend to prefer the smaller curvier one unless the size difference is pretty negligible.

Hmmm… Ozbargain is similar like FB. If you don't log on a couple of days, there will be a few hundreds of posts. And as I work long hours and have 2 small kids, I don't have time to check every 5mins.. I just posted up a post that I just bought 2 Nokia Lumias 530 today, but that post just got pulled off Ozbargain.   Well, it did happen, as I said, one store had no idea and didn't want a bar of the 532 @ $19, another store offered it to me without me mentioning it, so I think it is just luck of the draw, and many stores seem to be stocking high levels now anyway, so chances are probably slim now. Just rang Blacktown. Sold out on 530 but 532 still available for $99. The guy insist no bigw will selling 532 for $19 :-(

  Not so, Two stores I spoke to confirmed that they had sold all their 532 stock @ $19. At one store I ended up speaking to the manager who confirmed that he still had 3 532's @ $19 but they were on hold for pickup.
  Do you honestly think that the people here that managed to get the 532's are just lying?
  BTW.. I'm envious of the people who managed to get a 532 for $19 too :-)

      I was told by a staff member at big w head office that there was nothing being offered as a substitute also. Going by past experiences I have learnt that sometimes what staff say is not always correct. It is no reason to accuse others here of making up fairy tales.

      as was I and also by staff at a couple of other stores, they even referred to the manager and called me back to confirm that there was no memo and no substitution.

      I agree, but after calling head office and a couple of other stores and having several other posters say the same it looks likely that the answer was correct.

      I saw no accusations as such, just reporting back on what posters were told by staff BUT, these posters now have nice new 532's with 5mp cameras on board.
      It should be easy to take a picture of the receipt and show us all yet no one does.

    The 532 at $19 is just a ridiculous deal. I'd say that's the best bargain for a budget smartphone there has been if you are lucky enough to get one. The 532 is a pretty decent phone imo.

    Yes it was reserved…I called them yesterday and asked. Though, today when I went in, they couldn't find it anywhere and no record and no more stock of the 532. Finally a manager came over, popped open a cabinet and there it was with my name on it! He wasn't the manager on when I phoned but immediately said to the staff at the counter…'do this for $19 in place of the 530'.
    Agree with you, they are nice and friendly there. Hopefully they'll get some more in and you can get one :)

      and now they said thats other stores decision approved by the head office and they are not going to do it as its not fair to customer who bought the 530 from their store as theres a 20 bucks diff in original price…

Just came back from Plumpton and Rouse Hill bigw. Both have about 10+ each 530s on display. I guess they restocked. I poked around the display cabinets and could not see any 532s. At both locations I asked the men behind the counter about 532s going for $19. They said several customers asked the same thing and that there are no such memo or instruction to sell 532s for $19. This is just weird.

  Agreed, it is very strange, I am really curious now as it seems only some stores are using the sub of 532, as I stated, the second store I went to offered it to me, I didn't actually mention it, whereas the first place were irate as they said there's been no instruction to do it and people keep asking about it. I wonder why some stores are doing it, and where their instructions have come from????….weird alright.

I was at a BigW store today. I saw they had ONE Lumia 530 (Telstra) left. That one was for $19. But they also had ONE Lumia 532 (Optus). But that one was for $89. Maybe for those stores which couldn't sell any Lumia 532 phones for $19, was simply because those were the Optus Lumia 532… Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was hoping to get the Lumia 532 for $19. All stores I went to had it sold out… EXCEPT for Werribee Plaza (Or Pacific Werribee, as it's called now). The thing is, they STILL have the 530's in stock (lots, apparently), and won't sell the 532's for cheap until the 530's are gone.

So… uhhh… if anyone goes and gets the last 530… could you let me know so that I can get a 532? :P

      The thing is, once I heard that the 532's were going for $19 once 530's were sold out, I just want the $532's now at $19 or nothing. Well, the other option is the 532's at Woolworths for $39 if I really can't get them.

      Having used the 532, I didn't like it at first because I dislike sharp edges but that glance and tap to wake is really nice besides the back being matte black instead of grey which gives it a premium look.
