WD My Net N900 Central Dual Band 1TB WiFi Router

Pretty good deal for $30.- plus shipping

    https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/get-an-extra-50-off-i…

    • Yup. But just to salvage the HDD. The rest can go in the bin.

      • -1

And you think that the inbuilt HDD is not soldered onto a circuit board?. May be more difficult to salvage it if that's the case.

      • I use it as media storage and works great. Haven't tried to use as modem/router

      • You can't have many IT friends, we never throw any tech in the bin :) Give it to the maker community for a few bucks to pay for your postage.

        • I have no interest/use, and all those I know would look at me like I was joking.

        • I think you maybe replied on the wrong comment? Why would you comment on this thread about something of no interest to you?

        • The Mynet series have long been abandoned by WD and especially with the N900 incarnations, the consensus is that they are more trouble than it's worth in trying to tinker with them.

        • DD-WRT available for this model?

        • @Palamedes: LOL. Hoarding junk is interesting. The cases will go in the bin. If you personally have a use, I'm sure everyone will give them $0 pp.

    • +2

Used 20 store credit from past deal.

Thanks OP, got the router for $10.

    • How good would this be as a router? Needed a cheap router as the wifi signal from my billion doesn't reach the back of the house and I have Ethernet wire that I can plug it into

      • Definitely good enough, at the end of the day it is a dual so should be some help depending on how much closer to the dead spot the ethernet wire ends

    • Looking at the photos of the internals on Google images shows what looks to be mini PCI-e wifi adaptors. Can they be salvaged & used in a laptop/desktop mobo that supports it?

If you need a new steel toe cap work boot (pull-on) these Wolverine work boots are an absolute bargain for $15 each. I bought 2 of them previously when they were $30 each and i thought that was a bargain now they're $15.

    https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/get-an-extra-50-off-i…

These are retailing elsewhere for $140 each.

    http://www.brandhousedirect.com.au/products/wolverine-redwoo…

    • What is the sizing like?
      I'm usually a US11/Euro 45, but these are listed as US11/Euro44, or US12/Euro45

      • I usually take a US 13 shoe but went up to US 14 for this boot which seems to fit perfectly (i have a bit foot).

So i'd say for this boot go a size up (in US size) from a shoe size you normally take.

        • Thanks, looks like I'll take a punt on an 11.5 or 12.

        • @Bacchus:

You're probably better off getting the US 12 size.

        • Received them today. The 12 is huge - sendin' back.
Even the 11.5 is big for a Euro 44.5

        • @Bacchus:

          I see that's a pity.

Alternatively you could always sell the boots on eBay or some where else for a profit.

        • They seem to have a pretty good policy for returns. That's why I took the gamble on size.

"We know shopping online for shoes and clothes is challenging because you can't try them on prior to purchase. That's why at Catch of the Day we're happy to take back anything that doesn't fit properly and refund you, albeit with some conditions (see below). We'll also be able to waive the normal restocking fee and provide you with a reply paid return address - so you won't be out of pocket for sending the item back."

    • How come it's not going down to 15 in the cart? Do you have to do something?

      • Yes you have to sign into an account with an active Club membership to get the extra 50% off. If you sign into a standard (non Club membership account) there will be no discount.

        • Thanks a lot! It went through last night.

    • Comes in wheat also, but not discounted :(
      https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/big-brand-workwear-46…

      • Wheat colour version also is only currently available in 2 sizes (US 11 & US 12). I really don't know why COTD hasn't discounted the wheat version yet they did it for the brown colour. But personally i prefer the brown version.

    • $15ea?
      They sell each boot seperate?

      • You can order multiple (up to a max of 5) of these boots in a single order at $15 each boot and there's also free delivery if the order reaches $50 total. Remember the extra 50% off deal is only for Club members. When i say each i mean each pair of boots.

FWIW (and I'm not negging) but I'm pretty sure that B&D drill combo is exactly the same internals as the Ozito Drill-Impact Driver combo at Bunnings: http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-18v-li-ion-cordless-impact-…

I say this as I assisted a friend in buying one the other day and the torque ratings for both items are identical(though Bunnings don't say it on the website but it does on the box 33Nm for drill, 160Nm for driver IIRC).

I could be wrong but it'd be surprising IF the torque ratings as the same they're not the same internals just with different plastic skins. Either way they're BOTH a good buy at that price for average home users. :-)

I'm just so glad I bought what I wanted before my club catch expired. Just sad the lowepro 12 literature bag reduced from $15 to $5 now. I bought 3 for presents. Doh!

    • Just sad the lowepro 12 literature bag reduced from $15 to $5 now.

seems like a great deal. pity it's not part of the 50% off :P

    • Argh! Got one last month for $15. Just got a few more to offset the cost.

Monster SuperStar High Definition Bluetooth Speaker - Black $65 seems a good buy. It's water resistant and have aptx codec for better sound tranmition. Some similar water resistant bluetooth speaker, like UE Boom are selling at least $99.

    • The UE Boom is worth $99, not sure about the Monster being worth $65 especially with the recent Sony X3/X5 deals.

Got a B&D Circular Saw for $30.00 delivered! stoked

    https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/product/black-decker-1400w-…

plus used visa checkout which gave me $20 off :)

    • Seems like a rather good buy at this price considering that there's a 2 year warranty on this B&D circular saw.

p.s it's also showing as $29.50 delivered for me (club trial) but i've selected Paypal and got to the Paypal payment screen (just out of curiosity) through that as $29.50. So it's not just a Visa deal as Paypal payment also gets that price.

      • how do you get this $20 off? i cant find a coupon anywhere

        • xEnt, I drove myself mad trying to find it as well.

In the end I checked out normally through Paypal (didn't get discount) BUT upon completing the transaction it advised that my account now got $20 off my NEXT purchase that was through Visa Checkout.

So I did another one but went through Visa Checkout and sure enough $20 off…..so I suspect that the above posters bought something recently to 'activate' that offer on their accounts.

Bit of a PITA but makes it worth doing one cheap buy and then your real one on the second one to get the $20 off.

        • +1

@hollykryten: No offence meant but thats a different $20 promo to this one. :-) See my below post for how to activate it on your account.

        • @Nikko: thank you for that information! i split my purchase in half and bought the circular saw and a football for $54, got the $20 off after that, applied it to a new order (Black & Decker sander) and got a $14 sander!

that sander btw i checked the price of it, its at least $100+ from what i can see. not many australian results though.

      • Can u checkout via visa through the via? Got my $5 discount but there shows no visa checkout option (already purchased something earlier so got the option of visa checkout through website)

  • How come it isn't getting reduced in my cart? Is the subtotal supposed to show that it's half price?

    • Do you have an account with a Club membership subscription?. The 50% off is a Club membership only deal.

      • Yepp I signed up for it just then.

Placed an order for the Taipan mouse and some lip balm to get up to free delivery. When order went through, was issued with $20 off next order if using Visa Checkout. I am assuming others will get the same offer? If you are buying multiple items, might be worth splitting up the order to see if you get the same deal.

    • i only got $10 off. meh good enough :)

    • i also got the email but its picture in which it says $20 off visa check out, there is no coupon how can i claim $20 off ?

      • it's applied automatically the next time you select visa checkout as your payment method.

        • i tried to buy some stuff paid using visa card and did not applied these $20 on my order.

        • @ravian29: but did you use visa checkout or did you just enter your visa card details directly with COTD?

        • @tdw: i just entered card details, visa checkout is different ?

        • +1

@ravian29: yep theres three payment options. Paypal, credit card or visa checkout. The visa checkout option only appears after the first purchase. When u do select visa checkout the total gets adjusted on the next screen with your discount

        • @andyman1908: yap got it, thanks a lot mates (both of you) for helping me out.

        • @ravian29: no worries. did you get the juicy $20 off?

        • +1

@tdw: ya and after $20 i got $10 too enjoyed it as well lol

        • @ravian29: great success!

  • No toys (for the Adult included) ?

    • Adult toys allowed here?

  • Got $20 off from $50 spend last week plus another $20 with visacheckout plus free club catch delivery. Total $4.40 for $88 worth of stuff.

    • what's visa checkout? How do i get this discount?

      • The order total was $51.47 but the COTD invoice said I paid $31.47 with Visa Checkout.
I got $10 off next order using Visa Checkout on the website.
But I put an order through that I didn't really need :(

      • On payment page select visa checkout (rather than paypal or credit card) and set up an account. I am not sure if you have to have a previous order to be eligible for the discount.

    • can you explain more about visa checkout $20 off?

      • +1

Pretty sure you only get it after you make an order. I got 2 20s and 1 10
