  • Stupid question.. but y ppl buy this ? for what use ? i know its extra power/power surge as backup for your devices but what exactly you can do with this ?

    • +5

Straight answer is it makes your life much easier.
You can carry a power source inside your pocket and recharge your phone while you on the move :)

      • Hi mushtato,

I'm after purchasing the 16000 mAh, dual USB output, one only — is that on special by itself at the moment? If not, could you give a hint as to when it might go on special as I need one soon (camping trip planned).

The link to what I'm after:
        http://www.mushtato.com.au/xiaomi-16000mah-portable-mi-power…

        Thanks

        • +2

Please kindly send us an email to [email protected]
Our staff should be able to help you with that ;)

        • @mushtato: Hi, mushtato - I sent your staff an email about the 16000mAh model last night but I haven't heard back.

    • It's exactly as you've said. You use it to charge your devices when they run out of batteries. It's useful for when you're out and about. Me personally, I've used it for when my phone run's out of batteries at school, plane trips, road trips etc

      • I use it to power my Arduino or Raspberry Pi in portable situations like logging GPS. It's much better imo than buying a crappy shield for it which has limited capacity or flimsy wiring.

    • +3

You can use it to feel great about buying something at a bargain price. Also useful to recharge your phone on those usually rare occasions you are in the middle of nowhere.

In fact, judging by how popular these things are on ozbargain I expect that most people here are either back country hikers or jet-setters.

      • +1

Most people I know, including myself, take one out on weekends if you don't know where the evening will take you, or if you haven't had a chance to charge beforehand (if you've been using your phone actively through the day).

        • I take mine to work every day. Charge my phone during lunch breaks since I use my phone extensively to make business phone calls.

        • @scrimshaw:
Charge your phone via work pc?

      • I use mine on the couch.
No power point close, saves me getting up…….I can shop ozbargain longer.
Also bought from Mushtato. Good local seller.

    • +2

I bought a flexible Xiamoi LED light that plugs into the Powerbank and use that as my desk lamp when I'm studying! It is a huge advantage, because it doesn't throw shadows like my last lamp did, and you can move it around to highlight different parts of the textbook. That's pretty much the only reason I bought one, and it's been fantastic!

    • Thanks rep, no love for the 16,000mAH this time? I'd love to get one of these….

      • I second that…

Rep, can you do us a combo deal on the 16000mAH and the Piston 3 earphones please?

        • +4

Our web team is adding the 16000mAh into the combo for 29.95
It should be available soon on the 5000mAh product page.
Simply refresh your web page in 5 minutes and you will be able to see it.

Piston 3 earphone is currently low in stock.
We will need to wait for our next shipment to put it on promotion separately.

        • @mushtato: what a f****kin great deal mate, your tops, thanks!!!

        • I went to the site, and I could not see the deal for 16000mAh deal. Can you help with the link?

  • Dumb question, but are you allowed to take these as part of your carry-on luggage on planes?

    • That is a frequently asked question.
The answer is yes, you can.

      • however I reckon there is a limit of how many of these devices you can take with you on the plane, depending on the flight or country maybe?

        • I don' remember the limit but it IS considered a battery of sorts. Last time my friend traveling through China had to surrender his portable because the capacity was too large.

        • I flew to the US in July, stated limit was 2, although it'd be quite hard to enforce

    • If you're flying through beijing, they check the battery specs so make sure your battery displays it (which these do).

  • Always happy to upvote Mushtato, great job guys.

    • Thank you for supporting Aussie business :)

  • Hey guys, are your Apple cables and adapters genuine?

    • +1

Yes, they are 100% genuine from Apple.
You won't have any issue after updating the operating system.

  • +1

Great service from these guys, worth the extra money for fast shipping and supporting local imo.

  • Pretty disappointed, I messaged the rep about this last week and said they were too low on stock for a deal on 16,000mah, So i bit the bullet and bought shopping square ones. Damn shame.

    • There is a new shipment arrived yesterday.
According to shipping company, it should arrive by the end of next week.
For some reasons, it arrived early :\
It happens all the time, but mostly delayed by 1-2 weeks.
It is hard for us to predict the exact date :(
Anyway, make you ask for GST invoice.

      • ahh well, doesnt matter.
Thanks for the tip about the invoice, but why is that important?

  • Actually I bought a 16000 and a 5000 in an order in July. Ordered 21st July, delivered 28th July to North Ryde. Neither seem to fully charge, go flat faster than one I purchased from them last year. I've just left an email though with them so hopefully they'll be able to give me some tips to possibly revive these units or help me.

    • Thank you for contacting us.
I'm sure our staff will be able to assist you with the issue :)

My first Xiaomi bought! Got the 5000mAh and 16000mAh (good combo deal), now I'm only missing the 10000mAh. Store Rep, any deals on on the 10000mAh soon? I want the full collection (including the light and fan)!

    • I did the same, not sure i need both ( would have preferred just the bigger one on it's own) but i'm sure it will pay for itself one day.

    • -1

I've learnt that anything to do with power - get the original stuff. It's NOT worth saving. Nothing exploded or anything like that, but I've had equipment damaged because I tried to save a few bucks on power.

  • Just got the 5000 + 16000 combo :) thanks!

I have an Anker 2nd Gen Astro3 12800 that this will go good with.

  • I have the 10,000mAh version and absolutely love it!

Now I need another 10,000 one, or even 16,000. But I don't need both 5,000+16,000 as in this promotion.. despite how tempting it is!

If only the 16,000 one was on discount as a standalone purchase. Will wait for next time. :)

Thanks again for your great products!

Not buying as I already have 2 X 16000 and 1 of these 5000 - all from Mushtato.
Just really wanted to talk about my experience with Mustato. Buy. Buy now. You will not be sorry.
Crazy fast delivery, 100% genuine, fantastic service - these guys are super professional.
Couple of quick stories : I did get a fake - NOT from Mushtato and that taught me it is never worth trying to save a few bucks, their prices are great, their combination prices even better.
Recently, I was communicating with Mushtato via email, I had a few questions, in a short time product sold out in full - What did Mushtato do? They honoured the sale price - without hesitation or even prompting. I had missed out, they did not need to do this for me but did it anyway. 5 Stars Mushtato. You guys rock.

If anyone is planning to spend >$50 on ebay, they can get the powerbank for $19.5 @ Mushtato's ebay store with CLICK15

  • Hi Mushtato, just wondering if the Apple Lightning Cable 1m $12.95 is original and authentic?

    • Yes, they are 100% genuine from Apple.
Updating your iOS system won't effect any use of this item.

  • Hey rep. I bought the same battery from you and its taking a while to charge my phone. It's charging at the rate of 1% per 15 minutes or so.

I have a htc m8. Is mine faulty?

    • Thank you for your enquiry.

  • Hi Rep, do these power banks also work for samsung phones?

    • +1

Yes, they work with any device that needs 5.0V power input.
That is the input voltage for most mobile phones and tablets, and some GPS devices.

      • Thanks for the fast reply.

  • It only charges me $19.55 through PayPal. Not sure how.

    • The final value will be correct.
PayPal does not display price including GST in their first screen.
But it will show you the correct amount when you reach the next page.

  • -4

not including cable? That's still expensive, I'll go JD

    • +11

All Xiaomi power banks come with a 15cm Micro USB to USB recharge cable.
      Besides, USD$18.99= AUD$27.33
JD: No GST invoice, no local warranty, out of stock.
Mushtato: have stock + GST invoice + 12 months local warranty + fast shipping + after sale service.
Don't you think Mushtato is better? ;)

  • +1

Ozbargain is all about getting bargains (duh), but great customer service is almost as important. Kudos to Mushtato for providing both. This is a great deal of course. :)

  • I couldn't find the page for combo deal anywhere.

Rep, wouldn't you mind provide a link to the 5000 + 16000 combo?

  • First time buying a Xiaomi product and putting my trust with Mushtato noting that there's heaps of positive feedback regarding their service. :)

  • hi there,
do any of the xiaomi portable powerbanks support 2.0 fast charging?
and any idea when the 10400mah will get some love? im hanging out for that one.
would rather buy from you guys looking at all the positive comments
    thanks!

    • Xiaomi is now selling only 3 models - 5000mAh, 10000mAh and 16000mAh.
All of them support fast charging and come with 20-digits authentication code.
Also, Xiaomi 5200mAh and 10400mAh has been discontinued for a while now.
      Replaced by 5000mAh and 10000mAh.
As a result, we don't have any 10400mAh model left :\

      • any love for the 10000mAh model? that's more like the size im after.

  • they also make good protein powder

  • Nooo, I just bought the 16000mAh from your eBay store 2 days ago for 49.80 :(
Basically just missed a free ultra thin power bank now too

  • This is why I hate ozbargain.. Long time lurker, first post. Was happy enough to get the 5000mah but couldn't resist not getting the 16000mah for the combo deal!

    Thanks mushtato!

    • Welcome, and congratulations on your first post comment! Don't hate it while you embrace it… Just think, if Ozbargain sends you broke, you can always charge your phone from this purchase, while you occupy your new shop front space in swanston street!

  • Thanks OP and Mushtato, good deal, ordered the bolt-ons as well

  • So I wasn't dreaming, I really purchased this last night half asleep. Note to self, never look at ozbargain and then doze off. Lol

  • how much is shipping?

    • Shipping is free to anywhere within Australia :)

Just heads up for anyone that uses these to power Arduino devices, it appears they've changed the circuitry since the original 10,000 model and arduino load is now too low to be detected and they turn off after 30 seconds or so. If you increase the load (like powering a motor off them or also charging a phone) it stays on.
