I bought this from Good Guys few months back for $549. Good machine but 7.5kg front loader is a bit small if you are comparing it to even a 5kg top loader.
Otherwise no complaints so far. Its doing a good job. Like the temperature settings of upto 60 degrees i think which is pretty good. Has only one cold water inlet. Fit and finish is good with metal door hinges.

People still hot wash their clothes?

(Although, it's occasionally useful for pets or kids).

      • +6

Only when their machine catches fire.

        • That was only some Samsung top loaders. The Front loaders are fine, I have this similar model but a few years old, it hasn't missed a beat. Can't beat it for $500 approx.

Yes I also wash in hot water - 40-60 degrees. Barely noticeable on the electricity bill, but great cleaning results. You don't wash dishes in cold water, so why clothes??

        • @placard:

          Good spin speed too..

        • @placard:

You can actually get very results with a cold wash only using the right detergent. Biozet recommend you wash in 40deg or less due to the enzymes in their product, I think it's the best detergent on the Australian market.

Colours are less likely to fade in cold washer also.

        • @JB1: You havent lived until you try OMO Ultimate liquid.. Its not cheap but Im a chef, its the only thing that removes everything and kills everything… its a pity i only started using it a year ago

        • @ecatsuj:

When I run out, I'll give Omo Ultimate Liquid a go.. Actually next time I see it half price I'll buy one.

Laundry detergent is on sale so frequently and at half price, it makes me wonder how much of the population buys them at full price.

      • Something about Skid Marks…

though someone check my maths please.

$422.53, pretty sure cashback is off the full amount pre-discount.

    • 100% right

  • Nice mines been working 100% since last sale.

  • had one of these for about 6 months. Good washing machine and we are a family of 5 and 7.5kg is fine for us

  • thanks OP. i have been looking for a cheap front loader with cold water inlet only for a while now. bought one!
    Cheers

I've never seen a front loader with hot water inlet.

      • most of them have cold AND hot.

        • +2

Thought most had electric heaters, and cold only.

        • +1

          No they don't.

      • there are some on the market!

by memory..I read a user review on some LG model, although it have hot water inlet, but only accept certain washing program (ie: "fabric wash" or something), if you use "quick wash" then it wouldn't use the hot water….
or the other way round…it only wash at certain temperature (ie: 50c, if you change it to 70c it will still use the electric heater in it instead of hot water inlet), I can't remember exactly, so, beware & do some research before buying!

    • What are the benefits of a single inlet over dual? I've always used dual

      • One less hose to replace

        • And you never have to worry about running out of hot water because you did the washing

  • Bought this for the same price 2 months ago. Very Quiet. Really Nice.

Good price, but I'm over Samsung products… their products never seem to last beyond the 5th year for me, from fridges to TVs.

    • ACL here to help these days. as a reasonable person I think there's no point offering 11 year warranty on some parts if it's not meant to last at least that long.

  • My Samsung front loader has been working fine for 3 years now… much better than the previous LG.

    • mine had died about 4 years….

      • That's a shame. I hope mine lasts a while longer, though 4 years is still twice as long as the LG had….

        • +1

it died because the back of the "X-Spider holder" rusted and fell off!

it really put me off with Samsung product as TV, Phone, Washer are all died easily… :(

          @davidl2:

I have a Samsung Front-loader. It's still working fine, going to be on it's tenth year next week.

        • +1

Thanks for the info. I will check mine, but I've had fantastic support on other Samsung products, and as such am still a pretty big fan.

    Flaming good deal !

  • remember, when you pick up, check the model number. the chadstone good guys tried to give me the wrong one, and pretend to be stupid…. and i have to wait for another few days, before i can get it. they wasted my time to pick it up travel here and there.

    • What's chads

  • I bought this a few months ago for a similar price/deal, it's great so far. I'm quite happy with it.

  • Good deal! I've been eyeing this one for a while.
Does anyone know if the postage fee includes installation and removal of old appliance in/from a first-floor unit? Can't seem to reach customer care at the moment.

    • +1

installation is extra and needs to be arranged with the local store from where the delivery will take place. Not sure about removal.

      • Thank you for that. Does it matter that it's a first floor unit they're delivering the washer to?
Edit: Finally got through to customer care. Delivering the washing machine up a flight of stairs would have to be arranged "post-sale". The postage fee listed on eBay is the standard door-to-door delivery. I would need to contact the allocated TGG store post-sale to find out what the process is ie. different stores might charge different rates to bring the machine up to first floor. Installation and removal are extras like @peanut48 mentioned.

        • Don't bother just call a mate to help

        • I installed it all by myself and I'm petite. I even had to move and re-install my dryer. Trust me, if I can do it alone, anyone can.

I ended up getting the new 8.5kg version for $599 from HN… If you need the bigger capacity, it's a great deal until 1 Dec.

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung-8-5kg-front-load-wash…

    Goes for around $1200 RRP.

    • Jb had it on sale for 709 as a catalogue item for reference.

  • Great machine, excellent price. Use an older model and completely satisfied.

  • -1

For a limited time, comes with free fire extinguisher.

  • Sweet, got one!

  • Cheers! Got one for my parents.

    • Should be good, I have been using mine for a year now no dramas (actually closer to 18 months)

  • C&C = Cash & Combust?

    • +4

      Command & Conquer

  • 426 if you go to the store and pickup. Bought one Thurs night.

Wasn't it proven that certain brand of washing machine caused fires that burned houses and fixed by the maker with rubber bands and plastic bags? (except it was not fixed at all) Oh and no compensation for causing houses to burn down whatsoever?

  • Can someone who already owns this washing machine please check the depth of the machine with the door fully open?
I know it is 60cm with the door closed…wanted to know with the door open (I have a narrow laundry)

    • +2

The door is 475mm wide which makes it 1075mm wide when fully open. Very good washing machine.

      • Thanks man… I'll grab one now

  • Hi, anyone know if you can opt them to deliver on the weekend?

  • +1

Please downvote all the uninformed morons who post fire related comments every time a Samsung washing machine goes on sale. This site really needs an idiot filter.

  • I am a new over here .. can someone plz guide … I have ordered this machine but how will I claim now 3 % cash rewards?

    • sorry Lallak.. you had to go through cashrewards' website to click on the tracking link BEFORE making purchases on the merchant's site
