        • I'm not…all the way in Perth…but…mail it to me? =D

        • I wanted the Bose SR1 for $399 but missed out by literally 1 minute in the DJ's Adelaide city store. Couldn't bring myself to spend $799 on the 130 but well done to Holmes and enjoy your purchase.

Was also looking for the Bose outdoor 251 speakers which are like $200 (RRP $600) but they were out of stock :(

If someone finds stock of the Black Bose 251 please let me know, even if its in interstate.

        • @Spizz: I'll take a look here in Perth. Can you see if you can get me the 130?

        • @Spizz:

          the 520 was also 799.

To make you feel better the 1SR was dinged up and had dents in it.

        • @Alfonso: Cheap as. Guess I'll need to find some other sound bar now ha…or just save money :P

        • +1

@Spizz: Went to take a look during lunch break today, no more 251. Sorry.

  • +1

Apparently there is still an iPhone 6 128gb for $999 at chadstone at the back. Apparently!!!

Told by one younger staff member of Indian appearance wearing an Apple tshirt. I don't want it but someone else may make want to give it a shot and ask for it.

  • +2

I got a Mophie Juice back for my iphone 5 for $25 down from $175

    • Nice, worth it for $25. $175 hahahaah funniest thing I've read all day.

      Well done.

  • I went there a couple of days ago and there was nothing worth buying. The good stuff with 0-10% off and other useless rubbish are up to 70% off. I left the shop empty handed.

QC20 for $159 at dick smith inside David jones at Glen Waverley.
    For android.

Picture to follow as proof soon

    • Cheap! Current models aren't supposed to be on clearance, maybe sales staff mistake?

I've just checked at DJ Perth, still same price here.

      • soggy> did you ask them to scan the soundsport? 159.60 is so coincident to make up the 60% off as per the other post by giggs.

        • No, didnt ask about the soundsport, but lady said all clearance for older Bose models are long gone.

      • +1

Damn, should have bought them then and re-sell on gumtree

        /kidding

There were still two left at 6:30pm today and not many ppl.
So if anyone is interested, rock up early tomorrow and you should get one.

        • Did you get one for yourself?

        • +1

          @soggy:

No, I have one already like for a year or so from a past deal.
          No need for one.

There were lots of bose headphones left so possibly some of the other discounted models as well.
But NONE of the QC15 or QC3, as I looked myself for one.

        • +1

@soggy: hi man there is one fitbit look liked tangerine color at the entrance, u might be lucky to get it for $59.

        • Ahh, wasn't after a Fitbit anyway.

Saw some b&w headphones. Were you interested? Think they were the reduced ones mentioned couple times here, although someone said they weren't good.

    • Saw two ozbargainers snap up the last two QC20's within 5 minutes of the store opening. I was about a minute or two late… sigh.

      • That sucks sorry to hear that.
Maybe try one of the other David jones outside the city. You may get lucky.

  • only got 1 item so far, a $10 selfie stick down from $40….

    • what in the world would that selfie stick be made of if it was worth $40…

Just before closing time today, was browsing in DJs Carindale Brisbane when a customer returned a Galaxy tab s 8.4 - so I was curious. Reason - no stylus & charger cable. Easily solved. But was I in the market for a tablet - I've got an old $27 single core 7" Android for playing videos & a $47 quad core Win8.1 & hardly use either.

Was just browsing when I struck up a conversation with an interesting woman… & forgot about the tablet. Salesman came up & offered us (the only 2 in the section) the tablet for $149. Vickie asked if I wanted it, but my brain wasn't fast enough to work that out. Met her later - quite a nice tablet.

    • +3

not a true ozbargainer.. fail ;)

      • +4

        Winning though, met her later.

    • +1

      What a gentleman!

      • Maybe not;-)

I didn't tell her what I knew from posts here. I know better than to offer unsolicited advice to an intelligent woman. If she'd asked, I would have given my opinion.

It must have been on display for some time, so the battery, screen, & appearance may be affected. I'm sure it would have had a better life than ones in DS, but its effectively a second hand unit. That's a major reason why I didn't snap it up. But it did look very tempting.

Though I did introduce her to Ozbargain :-)
        Hi Vickie 👋

  • Hi guys sorry was unable to login for some reason been looking for the last three days

Bought sennheiser bluetooth HP requested by wife RS110 for 84$ not on a huge sale-but they are shit so will return them tomw.
will get phillips 8600 tomw instead.

staff at North Lakes and Bribie very good ,morayfield were shitty.

    happy hunting guys.

    • How much were ur iPad covers and what model? Good haul esp on those baby monitors

      • +1

Thanks,IPAD covers marked for 10 but scanned for 4 each.

    • Which fitbit did you buy? The only ones I saw were the flex. But they were more expensive.

      • i dont really know,it was red, retail 99$.They said you can pick TNG or RED for 49$.scanned for 39 .

    • They don't take open box returns!I brought some before for a friends and they are kinda bad

      • I returned them, will buy something in boxing day sales.I said they had some static and wouldnt fit me properly.

  • +4

I spent a chunk of the day going around and found no bargains to report. But I did manage to rack up 16,874 steps on the Polar Loop that I bought the other day, so I've got that going for me I guess.

Slowly trying to bring down the cost per step to justify the impulse buy. Currently sitting at 0.29 cents per step. Aiming for 0.03 cents per step or lower.

    • +3

But prior to that, you were taking those steps at no cost to you :P

      • Hehe, true, but I didn't look as fabulous doing it (because 'Black Currant' was the only color I could find).

Seriously though, I don't recommend it. It looks cool, but it keeps losing sync with the app and you need to log in again (with username/password) and then on top of that manually resync. Which is pretty shitty, even for $49.

      • Post it up, free steps, better than a half price marathon.

  • +1

I can see it on the news already: Dick Smith Sale Helps Man Get Abs So He Doesn't Have To Be Alone While Using His Shitty $29 Blu-ray Player And Racking Up More Steps On His Polar Loop By Jerking Off Than Actually Walking Because It's So Inaccurate. More at 6pm!

  • +1

saw a Samsung UHD 55" LED Curved UA55HU9000 today new in box for $1200. is this a good deal and how much is it worth?

    • It's not bad. Where abouts was this?

      • Chatswood. How much would be a reasonable price for this?

        • +1

          2500ish rrp

A good thing to do is to have the ebay app open and search for it in store. It gives you an honest price.

    • Did you get it? Wouldn't mind purchasing one.

  • Someone should start a forum topic where everyone posts their haul so others can get jealous and marvel at everyone else' bargain prowess haha

  • I have done extensive search for TV around Melbourne today but no luck, there is stock with Doncaster DJ but they are denying it, also two with Sheparton DS but they are saying that those are damaged which I don't believe. Fountaingate seems to have some stock but couldn't go there its too far. Does someone know any stock around for any TV 50" and higher. In need of TV right now.

  • Got a Toshiba Encore 8 32GB for $48.
Goes very well. Got Windows 10 on it no issues.

    http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/review/toshiba/encore/535406…

  • Did anyone grab a deal on an Apple iPod shuffle? My local store was sold out by noon today and I have no comparison for sale price :(

    • Yeh i picked one up for $37. They had a dozen at the local dick.

  • +1

Lined up with about 20-30 other people at the Doncaster store. Staff member opens doors and tell everyone the only things on sale/reduced are ticketed.
Went inside and it was the same leftover stuff from Friday.
Another case of sales that are meant to 'start' a certain day but being snapped up well beforehand. What annoys me the most is that staff were still saying up until Friday afternoon that Saturday was the 'big' day for the sales.

  • There's still red fitbit flex and a Phillips $69 shaver at Newcastle

  • Fountain gate

    Turtle beach xp500 $98.70 down from $329

Box says works for Xbox 360 and PS3..

Anyone know of it works for Xboxone or ps4?

  • Woman's epilators do you know what brands they are selling and with up to 75% off as about to get one on offer but maybe dse has for less?

  • Polar h7 $29.98, 1 left at DJ dick smith in castle tower

    • Wow, they lied to me. I called on Saturday to ask if they had one, since dick smith told me that their computer shows DJ Castle Towers have stock. They told me no. I went in there last thursday night too.. they have to be the most unhelpful, unhappy people there. Goodluck. I think it depends who you speak to at each store if they are willing to help or not.

      • I was there on friday and i didnt see them. Probably an employee change their mind and put them back?

        • +1

          Or someone returned them.
I think the standard default answer would be no, unless they're quiet

  • Is it still going on? I saw DJ Castle Tower have 3 new Panasonic 3D blu ray player DMP-BDT360GN but labelled $160. I bought it from other DSE for $41.

I didn't ask them to scan it.

    • DJs have different price on their system for some items. Staff member said he couldn't understand why. A Philips Bluetooth speaker scanned over 4 times the price of DS only a few hundred meters away.

      • May be but for that particular model I saw it at another DJ have a display model and labelled for $41.

So anyone interest you can go and ask them to scan may be because of the label people hesitate to ask.

        • Whether its DJs or DS, you just ask to scan as many have advised in these posts. Sometimes you get lucky. I picked up a $549 shelf priced product for $80 @DS.

And check DS online prices as another product that DS scanned today was less than shelf price, but many times their online price, which they matched.

Also managers can be flexible on pricing, if they're not too busy. I've got one to further mark down a display product to 1/3 of discounted price, but it was missing the remote.

But as I found the scanned price may not be reduced at DJs but is reduced at DS - and they use the same computer system.

        • @Infidel:

Yeah I know but I already have too much and also have two 3D blu-ray players and don't need another one so I didn't ask.

    • I was told by one of the staff at my local DSE that it'll be going on until all clearance stock is gone.

      • +1

They will have to give away the junk. A lot of those things wont sell , not even at $1

      • What will happen after that? Stores will start to shut down?

        • No, another crazy sale will start again with different theme.

        • @efunovasky:

          Give away for Christmas…

Honestly, some of the stuff on "clearance" prob only have a few takers even for free…

  • +1

    Reporting in from Orange…

Bought a Nikon D3200 body today at $197 for someone's Christmas present… and bought a Sony action cam for $99… all cameras have been cleared out. Don't bother with the phones too, no more sony xperia left…

For those who's after a Sony Shake (speakers the height to your waist)… ticket price $700… which is an absolute bargain…

One more D3200 left… brand new in box…

I have asked if any MacBook Pros/airs on sale… been told there are a few in the back room… but he/she said those are not on clearance, because he/she has checked the price, instead of scanning… in hind sight… i should have get them to take it out to scan it to confirm… o well… too late now.

Just ran a quick check on gumtree… looks like a few people have bought from dicks and dicking others on gumtree…

  • I heard that the Harmony Remote was on sale for $100.
Was there also one for sale for $30. If so what model was it?

      • Thanks, anybody know what model the Harmony Touch is? Guessing it is not the 650?

        • Harmony touch is the Harmony touch. I got one for $30.

        • @Food:
Is there a model number for it?

        • @star64: May be 915-000207

        • @Food:
Anymore in SA or the Harmony Ultimate? Happy to pay postage…

        • +1

          @mmd:

Check Gumtree, seems to be flooded there with 10+ entries over the last 5 days haha.

        • +1

@mmd: nah sorry mate I nabbed the last one. Just call a dse store in pretty and ask them to check stock in wa

        • @Food:
No stock, I called and visited most stores just to make sure :(
All the stores I visited said it was most likely stolen

        • @butterbuts:
Yep so annoyed at ppl who brodened it :(. Its up there along with ppl who come to the counter to pay, but are unprepared and act surprised. Why can't they have their money ready?

  • Any cheap TV anywhere 50" plus

    • No more.

      • +1

JB HiFi still has the 65" Hitachi for $999 I believe.

  • 60" Panasonic Smart LED. "Save $600" $1599.
    DSE, Canberra Centre

  • May have already been mentioned before: http://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/angry-shopper…

    Quoting from OzBargain ;)

    • +2

      Our bunch rocks!!!

  • Saw a bunch of TV's at Indro DS today. We're marked as 'manager specials'. Prices weren't as good

  • +2

I don't think there would be any ultra special bargains left..unless their managers are forced to put them out by head office, especially after the media exposure.

    • +1

head office haven't done such a good job if the media know about it, i'm surprised it took them this long to find out.

      • +2

They only had to check out their facebook site to see the whole thing was a fustercluck.

OT - but this was my favourite comment from their Facebook.

"I am 64 years of age and neatly dressed and to be ignore by staff and no eye contact also peeves me off.Dick Smith maybe your loosing business as your staff are not welcoming to the customers. Just a thought."

He was 'neatly dressed' goddammit, and they still ignored him!!!!

        • Maybe it was Gerry's fake Facebook account? :)

According to a staff member, the clearance sale was suppose to start on Sat. The system updated the prices days earlier so the store can organise additional staff, and prepare the store for the mayhem. (Printing all those tickets, cutting them, putting them up will be impossible to do on Sat morning before opening.)
This may also minimise staff hoarding all the stuff (Saturday staff might not be working during the week so they'll be unaware)
However, the sale was *leaked here which quickly spread by word of mouth. A 60' LG TV for less than $100 is just unheard off. I saw ppl in the store not actively shopping for anything, but just discussing about the crazy prices.

One could say why not upload it on Thurs for staff to prepare on Friday?

*Unconfirmed, but did someone actually saw any official promotions in the newspaper/online on Tues/ Wed? If you look at TA's posts, the images uploaded are the actual promotion prints that they stick around the store.
By day 2, the executives knew that the clearance sale was leaked, so they just released Day 3: Audio, Speakers, Security as a 'mammoth' sale.

        • @mmd: Yeah someone leaked it to TA and it took a life of it's own from there.

        • @RichieDuck:

          Tightarse is the username

        • @butterbuts:

          Thanks butterbuts!

        • @malouphix:

May be they don't want their stores full of mad peoples on Sat.

  • Saving my moolah for Boxing Day then….

  • So end of the DSE sales? Can anyone post what model Panasonic PVR's you got please I know there was a 1TB and 500GB model, mine was 500GB.

    Might want to read this…

    http://eng-au.faq.panasonic.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3485…

    • My 2012/13 Panasonic 1TB PVR DMR-HW220 handled the changes in Nine & SBS OK. So others should have no problem. Great bargain at $10 (no remote) 😃
