    • Damn, I would love one of the Bose soundbars! Thanks for the effort, I'm really chasing a soundbar, this gives me some hope lol

      • Check Chatswood Chase (the 1k is still available from what I heard last) and Macquarie Park.

To be specific, Bose Soundbar 135 Lifestyle - $999……. Bose Soundbar Cinemate 1SR - $399

        • Thanks mate, I'm in WA and I don't even know if we have Bose stuff over here, I've never noticed it. But I'll look anyway!

        • @BucketsJackson:

Should have mentioned this previously, apparently only the David Jones/Dick Smith combo stores have Bose (don't quote me, was told by a store employee)

        • @BucketsJackson: Pretty sure the large Innaloo store does carry Bose products

        • @aurotaro:

I need some nice speakers with my aging 52inch Sony from 2008. Is the cinemate 520 any good for 799?

I would like to watch movies and play games with it.

          Thanks

        • +1

@Alfonso: I'm not really an audiophile or a fan of Bose, but at these crazy prices it's worth buying as long as yours has dropped from whatever price it was before.

Worst case you'll get back your money on the 2nd hand market.

    • I thought they were current models so not on sale?!?!? Damnnn…

Just picked up a Moto G 4G for $89.~ in Mount Gambier, SA. I think it's first-gen… not sure if bargain. I think I OzBargained myself.

  • Has anybody came across any soundbars or a store with a good selection? I've check out Maddington, Carousel and Cannington (WA) yesterday and they had none of the clearance ones - although they did have some that interested me that seemed to be newer stock and not part of clearance unfortunately…

Also, any idea of what headphones are on clearance? I'm no audiophile but wouldn't mind a new pair.

    • I think theres a Philips soundbar left on display at Perth Murray st store. BEst to call them.

  • I went into DSE store this morning and asked about the supposed 70% sale this Sat (nothing to lose right!). That staff said they don't get advance notice. Subsequently went into DJ electronics section to ask about the 70% sale this Sat and the young man told me that the Sat sale has been brought forward to yesterday… I guess will find out Fri night or Sat morning!

    • I read somewhere on here that DSE wants all old stock gone by Saturday Morning, so thats why it is all on sale now instead of the weekend.

  • Has anyone been to Canberra Airport store? Thinking of heading there at lunchtime :-)

    • It is quite a small store. Was considering it but prob not worth it due to their already small stock levels. Let us know how you go if you do…

    Dick All at southport

  • Windows 8 tablets

    HP Stream 8 - 99
    Acer Iconia Tab 8W - 48
    Toshiba Encore 8 - 48

Picked up an Acer at DJ Chadstone, sealed in box. Got it home, turned it on, very bad backlight bleed on top and bottom. But its 50 bucks so meh whatever.

  • Forgot to mention, older Kindle's are all on sale. Older, not the new models.

  • Visited Robina, Gold Coast store this morning.
Nothing apart from some usb chargers and phone cases

  • Managed to pick up the Olympus OM-D E-M5 twin lens pack for $299 yesterday and the LG 500gb twin hd tuner 3D blu ray recorder (LG BR625t) for $79 as previously mentioned somewhere in one of these threads.

Both were brand new, not ex display.

This was from Elizabeth, SA. Checked out Golden grove (absolutely nothing, staff seemed oblivious to a sale) and Tea tree plaza (assume lots of OZbargainers visit there, as it was cleaned out by 2pm)

Olympus OM-D E-M5 twin lens pack for $299

      WTF!

  • Dick didn't have much to offer at Malvern today but staff told me that head office had offered them a substantial pay incentive for working this weekend.

Gonna head home now and play F12015 on the Logitech racing wheel I snagged for $45 yesterday!

Best saving I've had from this is my time for not going ;-) Do appreciate the posts by others (incl staff) though and the usual entertainment (probably more than I'd get from a close to burnt out demo TV).

It's a clearance (some unofficially) so people shouldn't get upset if someone else got lucky with one item in a store. Good luck to them.

Apart from the usual type of sale items on the website, DS don't have to have stock of anything on their internal mark down lists (Low stock levels are usually inaccurate anyway and there may be none).

Money from staff or non-staff customers is the same to a business so if they can make their staff happy with a purchase why should they withhold it (esp. if it hasn't been advertised to customers). Good luck to them as they sadly may not have a job in a little while as the latest batch of dodgy accountants do their number with this business…

Just got a Braun Epilator for $60 from the Helensvale store. Price tag said $230

    • wish i would be any near to ringwood.

    • I was told they were refurbished not new. Were you in store or did you call

  • Bought another tablet… Urghhhh! Toshiba Encore 8" display $38

KIndle Paperwhite is available for C&C if you're lucky:

    3G $99 : http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tablets-accessories/kindle-wifi-…

    WIFI $79: http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tablets-accessories/kindle-wifi-…

Nothing local for me though. :(
228km to Airlie Beach may not be cost effective for me…

    • Saw plenty in the store in George St Sydney store. But it's marked as $179. Would they honour the $79 price? I doubt it.

      • They 'should', it doesn't say online only that I noticed. No stock online at that store for C&C?

        • Sorry, turns out I was mistaken by the newer version of it. Hurstville seems to have some for those who need them. I prefer the new version.

    • Brilliant, scored 2 3G's (Blacktown & Hurstville are available). Seems like almost no stock of the Wi-Fi version in Sydney for C&C

Previous best price for Wi-Fi's were $108 from memory in March. Great deal.

Grabbed a 8 channel Swann CCTV set with 6 cameras and a screen for $210 at Hornsby NSW. Price tag was $1299.

Wasn't the latest model - not HD - but still a good deal nevertheless.

    • Any left?

  • Nothing@carindale

Nothing at Greensborough, Doncaster or Nunawading

    • +1

Thanks mate, saves me going to those ones.
I was at Greensborough yesterday at 9am and they had nothing too.

    • Obviously Doncaster westfield won't have any since their store is small and junk but has anyone tried doncaster the pines and box hill?

  • No tv deals in Toowoomba
Only got 4 x magnetic window/door alarm and pir alarm with remote for $5 each and a galaxy s5 s view cover for $2

  • Nothing at Carlingford. Can I get an update on Sydney Town Hall?

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 for 149$.. Is it a bargain?

    • Yes…good price.

      • Then BarGained!

There is a guy here looting the store.. He took around 10 different tablets!

        • Jeepers! They all on sale?

        • @JakeTheMuSS: Yup.. All around 149-199$.. He is on rage! DJ DS lady is so nice that she gave her list to everyone!

        • @danger163: Will be on Gumtree in a few hrs!

        • He's just a shoplifter! ;-)

        • @JakeTheMuSS: Yeah may be. He is looking after all items and getting them scanned on the computer, taking pictures of staff at different locations.. Looks like he's gonna open a mini DSE.. Lol

        • @danger163: Ha Ha nutter!

    • Or Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 $249

  • nothing in bondi junction!

Got seagate slim 1TB hdd $59, thought this was a bargain.

  • got an Ipad air 1st gen for $98 with free case at Dick Smith at Chatswood Chase

    • +2

Really? How did they manage to find stock? Was asking for this yesterday.

      • +7

A customer probably left theirs on the counter in all the excitement and it was sold ;-)

    • Staff just looked up the computer then went out the back to get one

  • fitbit flex tangerine colour only $53 - stock at Miranda and rockdale

  • Macquarie have 2 x Dick Smith brand 54.5 inch TV's. They have them listed as $800 and something but I'm betting they scan up as $209. When I bought one yesterday the guy said that the system says there are two in stock and the manager said that the system is wrong and there are none in stock, only the display model. So I took the display model.

Looking again today, my guess is that the manager is hiding them in plain sight.

    • You bought the 54.5 inch one? I thought these weren't on sale prices.

      • Think they have the new ones. The ones for $209 are the runout models.

        • So did you see the new one or the runout models at Macquarie?

        • @joeno: Knew someone who went to Macquarie yesterday. Upon checking the 55" Dicksmith TVs, the ones they have are the current models. which scan around around $800 I think.

        • @bugoy8: So why do you say they would scan up for $209? Just curious as went there today and nothing good.

        • @joeno: Sorry wasnt me that said it would scan at $209. Just noting what a buddy of mine told me about TV stock situation yesterday.

        • Yep. Double checked while I was there at lunch. The ones they have on the floor are the newer model (CB something) not the older model. The older model are $209. These ones appear to be exactly the same specs but 2014/2015 re-release.

  • +3

I honestly think this is it guys, unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Won't be holding my breath for any more deals from my local store so good luck to all.

  • someone just got an Xbox at Miranda

    • Sir, Was it Julia Gillard?

      • +2

didn't ask for his name but he was an Asian dude so probably not.

        • must be kevin rudd then.

    • Last name, Kerr?

  • Picked up a 500gb LG PVR+Blu Ray Player for $49 @ David Jones Sydney City this morning. Guy behind me got the floor model.

    Get the staff to scan!!!

    • I paid $80 for this at DSE EMporium…..

  • Seen some Laser tablets at Dick Smith on sale, don't remember the price.
Are these like really bad quality and slow?

    • Haha yep.

      • Thought so, thanks.

  • Quite happy at Emporium. Picked up some PVR's for $80. Very happy. Xmas presents sorted.

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/handheld-navigation/magellan-exp…

Geocaching handheld GPS with 1 month premium geocaching memeberhsip for half price

  • Got a Samsung 500gb smart Blu ray player / recorder for $90 reduced from $360. Model is BDH8500A, I rushed and bought it without even looking it up when the saleswoman brought it out, earlier models seem to have pretty bad reviews so now I'm worried I wasted my money x_x

    • +2

Shopping 101 - Never read reviews after you've bought something (1) It's too late (2) You might be disappointed and regret your purchase
      If it works, enjoy!

      • +1

Yep :/ I'm usually really good at checking everything but I just sorta panicked and the lady said it was really good.. Eugh.

        Hopefully it's okay! Thanks haha.

        • Bought and returned mine….I was not overly impressed with it .hope u like it.

        • @Henryneko:

That's not promising haha. Would you have kept it had you paid $90? I've heard reviews say it's slow and the recording function isn't great

        • @Henryneko: Maybe he bought your returned one ;-)

        • @daydream:
I hope not…its just slow and clunky.
U can always return if u don't like it ;)

        • @Lunawinter:

          Lots of firmware issues……

        • @Henryneko:

true, she said they don't return for change of mind, but I wonder if "i changed my mind because it's shit" counts.

        • @Henryneko:

Yeah, that's what I read :( although the really terrible reviews seem to be mostly for the earlier model, still doesn't incite confidence in the product..

        • @Lunawinter:
Don't worry too much…just return it if you try and don't like it.
Don't think they will mind or refuse

    • +2

Bought BDF8500A (older model) as you mentioned for $35 and exactly like you (without checking the reviews). Havent picked it yet, thinking of saying "Dont want it anymore"….

    • +1

Lol me too. Dont worry it cant be that bad for the price.

  • -3

The stores are so packed on opening and staff are bombareded by queries and sales you could probably snatch a five finger discount on the house.

    • +4

Add to that 3 meals a day, and all the sex you can handle!

      • +1

Well they did say they are discounting security. Ha-ha

        • -1

So many negs, it was just a joke, why would you risk stealing anything when prices are so cheap in the first place?
