    • Only problem is there's security cameras. Off to the police when they find out afterwards?

      • Steal them too!
DSE mentone has a sign up in the security section
"This area now under surveillance due to theft"

  • waiting for the last piece of puzzle from WA, come on guys!!!

  • I picked up a Samsung 55" UHD TV for $999.60 this morning

Was a UA55HU8500 - display model but good condition. Have to go back to pick it up and looking around the internet to see if I can find it, have a suspicion it's a re-labelled Samsung - it's the flat screen version not the UE55….

But for $999 for UHD Samsung that big, I haven't been ripped off.

Was in Bondi Junction, Sydney store

Also have every kind of GoPro mount on sale for $1 so I picked a few of them up

  • Just got a asus nexus 7 16gb for $49 at Rockdale, is that a good deal?

    • depends if it's 1st or 2nd gen (2013)

      • $49 is still reasonable for 1st gen.

      • Yep it was second gen!

        • +1

definitely a bargain! had mine for 2 years now.

    • +3

you work at the optometrist? you asked me if I wanted it and I said you could have it.

      • +2

Haha yeah that was me, thanks heaps for that :) going to give it to my mum for her birthday. Did you get anything else good?

      • +2

Doesn't sound like the Tony Abbott I know….

    • Just assume it is and be happy. No need to worry about the alternate since it's too late to bother anyway.

  • Scored some goodies at the David Jones Bondi Junction electronics section.

Samsung Note 10.1 16gb for $150 (They also had the 32gb for $299)
LG Bluray player/ Recorder for $49.80

No prices were marked in the store but luckily had a nice ozbargainer in there pointing me to a few deals.

Pretty quiet compared to the Dick Smith store upstairs which was manic and didn't seem to have much good stuff left.

    • +3

Hi, think that was me :)

      I scored:

      Nikon V1 kit $99
      Olympus EPL3 kit $99
      Sony S1100 Bluray player ex-display $5
      Sony HT-XT1 Bluray + soundbar $90
      B&W P3 headphones $79
LG Bluray player with 500GB $50 odd plus he stiffed me $35 odd 2-year warranty before I noticed on the receipt. I think he tried the same on you

The Nikon S7000 is still $299

      • Whoa, pretty sure there's a law about that (the warranty thing). Major breach.

        • That employee also works part-time for the Titans

      • Yeah he tried to charge about 80 dollars before I questioned it so that must have been what happened. For $35 you could almost get a second one as a backup.

He was helpful enough though I found especially with a phone that will be ringing off the hook all day.

        • Just got the $35 refunded at DJ city. I'm happy

      • Were there any more P3s or other B&Ws (P5/P7) left at either DJ or DSE Bondi? Thanks

        • +1

          Definitely no p5/p7 at DJ

      • Sony HT-XT1 Bluray + soundbar $90

Was the bluray separate to the speaker.
i bought the display model, and there was no remote, bluray player, or any cables.

        • There was a combo version, S3200 bluray player in the box, inside its own box

    • Hi Can you kindly message me or upload the receipt for this? I got mine for $200. =(

    • My Nikon V1 is missing the lense :(

      Is yours complete ?

  • Anything at Vic Garden store?

  • +2

Meanwhile in Mt Druitt store - WOW deal http://imgur.com/Ll9QXRh
Look at old and new price :)

    • Bargain!
Lol and the fact the sign should've come down 8 days ago :P

    • +1

At least that's honesty in advertising ;-)

  • is samsung galaxy tab s 8.4" for $149 a good deal? and what about galaxy tab s 10.5" for $299? which one is better?

    • From memory, both are very similarly spec'ed, the main difference between the two is screen size. I just snapped up an 8.4 for my son who's been desperately saving to a Tab A 8.0.

OW were last selling the tab s 8.4 for $349 - so judge for yourself if it's good value.

    • Ask for a deal as they are the same specs. I saw someone buy a galaxy tab s 10.5 for 149.

  • Bose cinemate 130 soundbar $800 down from $2000.. Any good??

    • Awesome sound and takes up less space than a full blown HT system. I'd get it as long as it comes with everything.

      • Sealed with a bonus wireless receiver of some sort

        • Nicely done.

  • Lots of haters so I'll share some Dick Smith love. My small local store Emerald (Central QLD) has been fantastic. They only have 2 staff on at a time but they have been friendly and most accommodating. I've visited each day this week and they have been running around ticketing and have been very happy to help without complaint.
This morning the tickets weren't out yet and they just gave me the stack and said go for your life.

My purchases so far this week:
Canon 700D twin lens kit $399 - for a fellow Ozbargainer in Brissy - RRP approx $700-$800
    2 x 8inch digital photo frames $10 - RRP $50
    4 x 2200k powerbanks $5 each - RRP $20
    1 x 11000 Kaiser Bass power bank $20 - RRP $80
    180 light LED Xmas light box $5 - $RRP $30
XBox One wireless controller $25 (I don't even have an Xbox but couldnt resist) - RRP $70

    • +1

You could use it for pc gaming, I was looking for one but didn't get lucky. Nice haul!

      • Do you want it? I have a PS4

        • That would be awesome if you aren't using it. I'll pm to discuss it further :) Thanks!

      • I saw yesterday tags for xbox360 controllers for $12 as well (also great for PC gaming).

        • Yeah but no stock anywhere around me xD

  • Nothing at Melbourne Emporium store. Only notable item was the Timex Ironman watches selling for $30 which I didn't bother with. Apparently they normally sell for $120. About 20 or so left.

    • Any Bluray players left?

      • Didn't notice anything with 'special'. Also didn't bother asking the staff about blu rays as I already have a blu ray player. I have stopped buying blu rays these days as I have netflix.

    • Any soundbars?

      • Don't think so

  • Just came back from a dickies - bought 16000mah powerbank for $20.

  • +2

Saw a JVC 40" TV for $149 at glenelg, SA. I was about to buy one but it was display stock and the guy said it had been sitting around for a while, didn't seem worth it for a tv that probably has over 1000 hours already clocked up but it might still be there if anyone is interested, I was there about 45 minutes ago.

Went to Marion, SA and ST Mary's, SA. Found nothing.

    • thanks bud, will check the CBD store
      probably too late

    • Thanks for the info about Marion and St Marys.

    • Yep, went to St Mary's yesterday - waste of time.

  • +2

Been to dick @parramatta. Didn't find anything useful. Clearance lines = old, obsolete and dick branded. No thanks, never been a fan of dicksmiths even on sale.

  • Just came back from Bourke street one. Nothing interesting, just some move hard cases for a $ each (s5 and Iphone 5/5s mainly) Original price was mentioned $24.00

Everything else is either useless or good for gifting around, nothing that you would buy normally.

    Cheers!

  • Anything at Melb Bourke St CBD? S6 Edge for $749 is pretty good.

      • +1

I'm interested in the S6 Edge.. got told black and white were 1099 or something even after scanning them…

        Whats the go there?

    • Looks like the last few days has been good marketing ploy for Dicksmith. I want into their store at least 6 times (various stores of course).
Staff at most stores has no idea (or act as if they are not aware of bargains).

There was bugger all deal for today …

  • doesn't look like much of a change from yesterdays prices so might just stay at home today instead of going hunting.

  • +2

Picked up an acer iconia a1-830 tablet for $48 and a Sony blu-ray disc/3d dvd player for $29. Did pass an employee outside on his phone talking to someone about how the stock is allocated to stores but when it arrives they can change stock levels in the system to 0 and then asked if they (the person on the other end of the line) wanted it…whatever they were talking about.

  • Report:

Tues: went to the store at Brookside, asked for Nikon d5500, been told only 1 left in lismore, can keep it for you and ship to the sore, has to pay $75 shipping feed, gave up.

Wednes: Got a working chance to pass Dalby, where 3 hours away in Bris, bought 3 lightning cable (1 is belkin, 2 of karex), $10 each. And logitech harmony touch (no ultimate) for $30. They still have xbox one with kinect for $299, vita for $99, xbox one controller for $23.99, but no decent cams there. Some laptops there also.

I think if you wanna try buy some good items, the regional store is the way to go.

  • Not worth to waste time in Dick smith now, same old stuff … not anything really marginal

Not many hopes from tomorrows sale either ..lets wait for Saturday if they left with anything.

    • +1

You got that right. Was late to work to check out the deals, was there before the doors opened got in and nothing worth buying just because it was cheap.

My fiance has been to 3 stores so far and all have no TV's or any other big ticket items…

Funny thing is there are TV's on display. But they arent on clearance (i checked the codes) I wonder if they will go on sale on one of the following days.

    • +1

Hopefully they will go nuts on Saturday…..
Something like 70 off everything in store…hahahah

  • +2

At Springvale Vic, full of stock but nothing in sale. Staff just say no to almost everything.

    • I was there this morning, honestly all the stock left seems like the newer models. There was a fitbit for $50, that's about it. Also I saw a shaver there which i believe was $59 or something reduced from 229 or thereabouts, at the time I didn't know it was that cheap but I saw someone buy it at the Keysborough store (last one)

Keysborough has a few bluray players, some discounted printers and some fitness watches etc.

      • Keys have any soundbars?

        • There was only one, had a price tag of about $110, wasn't sure if it was discounted further but it said "1000 model" or something on it, possibly display model.

  • +1

Only chasing a copy of GTA5 for PS4. Pretty much 0 chance of finding it in a Brisbane store.

    • +13

Think of it as your first GTA game mission ;-)

    • Just saw a few at Taigum

      • Went out there and 0. Checked their computer and sold a bunch the past couple of days. Didn't have any left today. They said the only places with stock were in places like Toowoomba and Robina.

        • My partner went to Robina, no stock there either. Apparently when the guy looked on the computer, he said it wasn't even listed anymore. Probably hoarding for themselves, oh well.

        • @unknown:

Probably. The employee at the Taigum store showed me the computer screen, and it had Robina and Toowoomba with stock when I was there.

  • +1

Tried dickies in Forster nsw I think I spotted some ozbargainers in the wild
Ask if any super cheap tvs said they had no old stock looked around the store just looked like normal discounts on certain items

  • Are the holding more stuff over until Saturday?

    • I'd say Saturday will be further reductions on what's already been reduced, to finally get rid of it. Not sure about tomorrow though!

    • See earlier post from staff member. Nope. Why would they bother if they can dump if off their books earlier.

Could someone tell me if this was a good deal on this Panasonic 40" panel? It's only FHD, not UHD, and only 40"…
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tvs/pana-40-fhd-100-hz-dsau-ge50…
I had a look at the price lists here imgur.com/a/TZbvB and felt I didn't get that much of a great deal compared to all the other panels that they were clearing…

    • Sorry but that isn't a very good deal.
