SanDisk Ultra SD 80MB/s 32GB $16.50 & 64GB $33.00 Delivered @ PC Byte

1560

You asked for SD cards, and here's arguably the best value-for-money cards around. SanDisk has released a new range of Ultra cards that are twice as fast as the previous Ultra models. With a rated maximum transfer speed of 80MB/s, these should handle a lot of demanding applications. Again, these are the cheapest prices anywhere. Limited to one of each per customer, and will be dispatched immediately from PC Byte's Sydney warehouse. They come in full retail packaging. Coupon not required. Enjoy :)

Many thanks to Thrift for running this test on the 64GB microSD version of the new Ultra. Awesome results!

Ouch! Ordered 2 cards 48m/s in the deal yesterday :(

  • Why the code doesn't seem to work from my mobile? :( do I need to register first?

  • +2

Is the code live yet? Keeps telling me it's not valid.

Now fixed: Give ARSESD the Arse, so to speak! ;)

    Thanks, TA and Francesca!

  • How fast is the write speed for this? Got a link for the new model?

  • so this is faster than U3???

  • Hurray, flash memory codes! now to hang on in there for something fast enough for the new camera. Come on Sandisk Extreme Pro MicroSDXC 64Gb!!

Hi everyone. Sorry for the stuff-up with coupon code. I was out to dinner and TA called me in a panic. He suggested to drop the code so I call my IT guy and he removed it. Hope you're happy with result. Thank you for your support. Francesca.

      • +2

Just in in case anyone is wondering what the arse codes for today were, the codes were ARSE32 and ARSE64

  • Bloody hell just bought an extreme SanDisk on ebay!

    • +1

the extreme on ebay with the amaysim $25 code is probably the best value at the moment for the fastest cards as long as you stick with a reputable ebayer.

  • Be nice if it was on eBay so i can use them ebay vouchers from amaysim

  • code not working

  • Coupon code "arsesd" is not valid.

  • These good for a Canon DSLR for rapid shooting and video?

    • +1

Yeah. I've been using the older 48mb/s 64gb in a Canon 5D3 since April and had no problems. Probably written about 500gb to it over the months.

  • +2

    Arse-k and you shall receive!

  • thanks mate.

  • Any experiences with delivery? I go on a trip on 18 Dec ….

    • Last time I bought a micro SD I got it within 2 business days..

    • Bought on Thurs (10 Dec), received today on Mon (15 Dec).

      • +1

        *Mon (14 Dec)

  • Code isn't working but notice price was reduced to $33 so couldn't resist.

  • Thanks for this, TA.

  • Bugger! Ordered one from Amazon the other week for $21 AUD delivered.

  • What's the write speed? Is it U1 or U3?

    • +2

Write speed not usually specified as they can differ. This card is uhs 1 though looking at web specs on link above.

  • Looks good. I currently have the old extreme pro which is like 90 MB/s what are the newer options for Extreme and/or Pro and can you give us a deal on this?

  • How this compare to the SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB ?

    • +1

Sandisk range goes from Ultra -> Extreme -> Extreme Plus -> Extreme Pro. So this is the lower end of the range.

  • Thank you very much, TA. This is the deal I have been waiting for lately. I've just grabbed one of each. :D

  • +1

Just bought this micro sd a few days ago from their eBay store. Actually which is faster?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/151234921143?_trksid=p2057872.m27…

    • +1

They should be comparable. The 64GB SanDisk Ultra 80MB/s MicroSD card you've linked (SDSDQUA-064G-UQ46A) is the one that gave me 82.77 MB/s read, 59.46 MB/s write speeds. Good price at $33.95.

  • +1

    Ta TA.

Probably no good for Sony rx100iv and a7rii for 4K video

    • Why is that?

      • +1

Probably because they, as well as the Sony X1000V action cam, require U3 cards to unlock the 4K modes.

        • Yeah a whole heap of cards including some u3 will won't work on these cameras. Owners are advised to search online to find a good card.
I had a great card for my rx100 but it wouldn't work for the best video mode on the rx100iii

  • What is the write speed?

  • Thanks bought one.

  • Just got my first camera the other day (Nikon 3100), I assume this 32GB card will be perfect for it? (Yes Im a complete camera noob!)
Manual only list up to 16GB for the SDHC.. but I assume thats because its an old manual.

    Cheers in advance!

    • Eh just bought one anyway just in case it gets OzBargained! :P

      • same here, I was going to wait for a deal on the Sandisk SD Extreme. But…

  • The factory Ricoh SD card slot in my Sony Vaio laptop can only Read, but not write, is this normal?

    • There's a little slider switch on the top left of the card. If it's down, it write protects the card. Slide it up and you should be fine.

      • I'm aware of that switch. The laptop is kind of old (circa 2009/10), and something tells me the reader is just that - a reader… wondering if this sounds right?

  • +1

for 4K you need U3 like this.
Confirmed 4K works on FDRX1000V Sony Action Cam

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-64GB-Extreme-Pro-micro-SD…

    • +1

Im keen on that card…. TA can you do a deal on this?

    • SDXC (Micro SDXC) UHS-I U3 or higher is required for 4K 100Mbps recording.

  • How does it compare to the below deal:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/220490
Is Sandisk Extreme 60mb/s U3 faster than the advertised deal (Sandisk Ultra 80 mb/s)

  • Great price, thanks. Just purchased a 32gb one. Still not sure whether I should grab a 64gb as well or not.

  • Can I buy 1 of each?

NVM: I should learn to read, yeah ok 1 each.

Cheers TA & Reps, I got 1 of each.

  • Hi Tightarse, can you find me a 240/250gb ssd deal this weekend? Ta

  • Just wondering, compared to this one which one is better? If the quality will be the same, I actually prefer to have micro SD so I can have flexibility to put it in any devices.

  • +3

I just purchased one of each :)

    • The only reason I've been avoiding larger capacities is to try to "encourage" myself not to leave too many photos on the card and download more often. :)

      • A wireless card (SD) would help with that, wink wink TA.

  • Bought SD 32G and 64G , thanks

  • How do these compare to the Sandisk extreme 90mb/s u3?

    • I think extreme is better than Ultra. Especially on write speed.

  • Anyone reckon JB would price match this? They have the same one for $79 :/

    • pcbyte are an aussie retailer so JB should match it. Dunno if they will as it's out of stock though (for the 64GB one). Can't hurt to ask.

      • JB and Dicksmith refuse to match this because they said the store is in NSW (I'm in ACT) but The Good Guys was being a 'good guy' and happy to match it with the 80Mb/s write speed SD card.

        • Strange. I've been able to match with online stores (haven't tried pcbyte yet) from other states (im in WA). As long as they're not a grey importer my local JB seemed to have zero problems with it.

  • +1

Has anyone else noticed that payment to pcbyte goes to OZB Enterprises?
    Pcbyte is inspired by ozb?

  • I bought a 32GB Micro SD card from PC Byte yesterday but still receive no email confirmation. Is that normal for PC Byte and how long usually they take to deliver to Sydney Metro area?

    • +1

Did you check your spam folder? I got my "No Reply - PC Byte: New Order #…" email and PayPal's "Receipt for your payment to OZB Enterprises Pty Ltd" email immediately.

If you registered an account, log in and you'll see your order status.

As for Sydney metro delivery, I usually got my orders the next morning, however with Christmas mail it is probably going to take an extra day or more. I had an order shipped yesterday and it wasn't delivered today, so hoping Monday.

    • I think you forgot to check the speed difference :)

    • lol fail

Be a bigger fail if your ordered some lol

  • Bought one for my Nikon d3300, thanks op!

  • Thank you so much, has been hunting for full-size SD card for some time now!

  • still holding out for a bargain extreme pro 64gb microsdxc! but another great deal TA!

  • I don't understand why people hold out for SD card deals when a microSD card with an adapter is essentially the same thing? I understood that the only difference is the form factor and not the electronics or specs where comparing like cards from the same manufacturer. I'm using a SanDisk extreme 32gb microSD with adapter from another TA deal in my Nikon D610 and it hasn't skipped a beat.

  • just missed out!

  • Just missed out. I need two 32GB. Anyway I can still get them for $33 pretty please?

  • Any chance I could still order a 64gb?
