    Been keeping an eye on this, and the site was down for 2 days … but does anyone know if Sony have had post Xmas sales? I dont 'need' a sound bar but will prob buy as it's a good price, but was wondering what has happened in the past?

        But what kind of % off was it … because the 12 days of Xmas are very specific to those handful of products, and whilst the 50% off the CT80 is a great bargain, the unit is quite useless for anyone with a 50'+ TV … so it would be better to get the C180 if it was $175 @ 50% off?? … did Sony do this last year?

          No. I bought my TV for $729 (I don't remember exact model but it was 50" smart TV) at that time. RRP was around $929. And the sale was only a on few specific items.

          I have bought a number of items in the past month and don't have anything showing as pending. I am always sure to log into CR and use the direct link from their site.
          I guess it runs in their favour if they dont have to pay them.
          I'm not sold.

      Thanks, just ordered through Officeworks over the phone, only 6 left so get in quick if you want one. They will deliver to your home or to your closest store for pick up. Guy on the phone said he will order one for himself, so maybe only 5 left now….

        Just ordered one now by phone too. The lady was reluctant at the beginning saying this offer is shipping from overseas.
        I asked where she got that from, then she put me on hold and came back with "Ok it seems fine" :).
        118.5 is a good price and faster than waiting for cash rewards.

      I ordered in the morning. The first time I hit the complete/process order button it spun a while and showed an error. Hit the button again second time and it went through. Takes a while though.

      I went through everything, card details and all, then got that error. Checked my bank account and it was charged for the item, however no email from don't acknowledging the buy???

        exactly the same happened to me. While I was doing that I asked my wife to try to place an order - and it worked fine for her. So I just spent 40 minutes with Sony customer support trying to cancel my order since I dont need two sound bars and it was pain in the ass to prove my order since I haven't got bloody order number. So they requested confirmation in regards to my order to web store, still waiting…

        if I wont be able to cancel my order - happy to sell it to any of you guys! :)

          As bad as I sound, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I spoke to a rep online and then went to the phone. They said it will take a day for a reply as they need to wait on Sony admin to see if they see the order that was paid for. Sounds like a shit fight.

          @davidnesbitt86: I bought a Sony TV last year so used that detail. BUT I don't think they validate any of that. Just pick any model and put in some store details. The serial number is not required.

          @davidnesbitt86: Sign up at the cash rewards site and remember to disable any adblockers you have running. Then simply remember to sign into cash rewards just before going to the sony site to purchase.
          In a few days you will see the cash rewards showing up in your cash rewards account.

    Maybe better than TV speakers, but don't expect too much for music in this size.

      True — the couple of tweeters in this won't compare very well with the speakers in the side of an average TV, but the subwoofer will add some depth to movie soundtracks.

    this Sony 12 days of christmas thing has been bungled so badly…

    never ontime, down for maintenance for practically all of 2 deals, they must be paying literal monkeys to manually edit the html and ftp update the web server over dialup.

    I went into Harvey Norman to listen to the C80, C180 and C380. In my opinion, the C80 is a waste of money if you have a TV with 10W output from each speaker as the sound bar is only 20W per speaker… prob useful for 40" TV or smaller.

      Yeah, but they're not on sale and are quite pricey. You can tell the wattage from the model numbers.

      Also, IMO soundbars look better than sound bases / plates but I have no practical experience with either.

      They are different categories of products..
      The Logitech is for PCs while this is for a home theatre. Not many people would use Logitech in the living room.
