  • So, I checked out with something from TGG and also Master, however there was an error at checkout, yet I have a receipt from PayPal, and also credit card has been deducted…

The purchased items aren't showing up as purchased through my eBay, and I don't have any emails of confirmation from eBay….

I've emailed both sellers, is there anything else I can do?!?!?

    • Exact same problem here… 3 x the same $1200 purchase later over 3 separate debit cards i am not closer to getting my damn fridge. No response yet from Good guys or paypal.
I notice each time i buy the product it shows as out of stock for about half an hour even though it claims there are plenty in stock.

    • same here, had an item from TGG. error, got Paypal receipt, no orders shown on eBay.

But when I logged in to PayPal, it shows the amount were refunded immediately.

    • I suspect it might be an issue with eBay's click and collect system lagging behind each store's actual inventory levels - as in eBay thinks there's still stock at certain stores to click and collect, but in reality they're out of stock.

It's happened to me with Dick Smith eBay C&C too.

Just then, I got rid of my C&C item…and everything else went through smoothly!

  • Current Dell discounts not reflected on ebay because they require their own coupons. :/

    • the Dell discounted items from the Dell au Store + the ebay 15% discount code works fine. Thats why many yesterday were able to purchase the Inspiron Laptop reduced to $1019.14 (40% off from Dell) + 15% discount from ebay = $866.50 (plus 4% cashrewards if u succeeded going thru it).

I've even tried it just now on a sale item.

  • Hmm…I found an item I want to buy except the seller is away until 4th Jan. Now I know this wouldn't be a problem since I can always buy and pay. Where I'm getting stuck is that the seller did not attach any freight to the item. Which means when I add it to the cart, it won't let me apply the discount code and additionally requires me to request a total from the seller. Which I can't do because the option is greyed out due to the seller being away.

I'm almost tempted to buy it now and see if I can try my luck and attempt to pay before the seller returns and then pay for the additional freight later, except I'm not sure if it will do the same thing and prevent me from making payment until the seller sends a total invoice.

Has anybody else run into the same situation and how did it go?

  • Thanks OP! Just brought a Nikon 35mm F1.8 lens ($200 delivered) for the Nikon D3300 ($249 Amex/Harvey Norman deal).

  • I am getting this error message

"at this time we are unable to process your request, please return to ebay and try another option

  • Any good desktop PC configs that I can get? I am thinking of http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221783118145
Comments please for a computer noob :/

    • +1

Assuming you're after a gaming rig, specs-wise it's decent but for that money you want the OS/apps drive to be an SSD - probably 256GB minimum. Do a search for some of those keywords under desktop pcs to compare deals. Eg do a search for 'i7 16gb ssd gtx970' filter for just desktop pcs and sort by price low to high. Check feedback score and go from there.

Best I can find with an ssd http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Computer-SSD-120GB-Gaming-PC-…

      Or with 240gb ssd: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Computer-SSD-240GB-Gaming-PC-…

      • Thanks - much appreciated, I was thinking of getting the 500gb ssd that was on the front page of OZB this evening. Would add up to the same cost…. Approximately.

The problem i am worried about that this is a haswell, whereas sky lake would be future proofing the unit?

        • Sky lake is going to set you back 200-300 more. If you're wanting a longer lifespan it might be worth it but let's face it the CPU you buy is going to be obsolete when you open the box anyway, that's the hard reality with technology. Just a decision of live with a gen behind and upgrade sooner or pay a few more $ to future proof.

Consider more graphics power over CPU if you're gaming and Google the type of overclock you might get from the 4790 if you're confident taking that (minor) risk.

Yes with your own ssd it's a better combo and a better price. Only other thing I'd consider is gruntier graphics (as above) if you're playing the latest games.

        • @Monojoker: b
Thanks again. This rig will most probably be for Lightroom along with gaming PC exclusives. I normally game on consoles but this will give me an option. Given that technology becomes outdated so soon, is it worth buying the haswell - will it last me 5 years till I upgrade next?

        • I don't think anybody can predict how long the CPU will cut the mustard. If playing the latest games it might be a stretch to last 5 years, my guess would be 3 before you'll start to see a need to upgrade. I'm not a PC gamer, only console so take my advice here with plenty of salt. Are you a member on the overclockers au forums? Might be worth joining and asking specifics there as there's lots of PC gaming enthusiasts who will offer advice. Cheers.

  • Anyone find a good iPhone 6 deal (Aussie stock, brand new)?

    • I was looking for this too, but haven't found anything particularly special as yet.

    Any android tablet deals?

  • i phone 6s 64gb deal.. I want to claim GST as well

  • Trying to buy a Dell XPS 13 laptop using this code, but am told that the code cannot be used for items in that category. Error messages only appear once I am directed to PayPal. I tried multiple listings. Anyone else getting the same error?

  • +1

Did Appliances Online pull their entire ebay store ? I noticed that they had a 15% off everything sale independently, so with ebay it would be close to 30% off. Is that why ?

    • If ebay was covering the extra 15% it should not bother any retailer unless it would have dropped their prices to a level below what the manufacturers were happy with?

    • Was just wondering about that…

    • When I checked their store yesterday arvo it said they were "away", thought it was a bit strange they had no stock listed at all..

I've seen other sellers 'away' but still selling items, with a warning about a delay.

  • I know this is probably a silly question, but if I use the code on an item being sold by an individual seller (not a company)… it won't deduct 15% from them will it? In other words, does eBay cover the cost?

    • +2

Seller will get paid in full by ebay.
      You will pay -15%

    • +1

it will work. ebay just doesn't collect their commission from the seller which they otherwise would have.

    • Thanks :)

  • -5

any iphone 5s or 6 deals?

  • +13

I don't understand all these questions about deals on specific items. eBay has a search function where you can enter your item name (eg iPhone 6), then refine your filter to a specific category (like mobile phones), only BIN (buy it now), new/used items, then sort by price from lowest to highest.

Am I missing something that requires half of this thread to contain 'any good deals on [insert item name I want here]?'.

Now time to find $150 worth of Lego minifigs :-)

    • +1

      Just lazy people.

    • There is one aspect I've yet to be able to filter out, eg:

      Samsung Galaxy s6

      Filter: Australian delivered stock only

      Or

      Filter:
      No grey stock

Anyone know any trick to only see Australian models? I tried searching the Aussie model number for the s6 but that didn't work either..

  • Ok just scored a Tab S 10.5 cheap, which memory card sellers are legit on ebay apart from Officeworks/etc? So far come across Shallothead and PC.Byte which both look alright?

    • +1

Any more? I'm interested in a good Tab S deal too. :-)

      • I got mine used but in good condition as it was rarely used, there are others for less than $500 but not new anything new is over $500

        • thanks. Over $500 for a previous model (albeit better in some ways than current) seems steep.

        • @reu:
imo it is worth getting the tab s over the s2, the S has better ratio for movies etc and larger if you want it

  • Does anyone know if the coupon code affects import charges under eBay's global shipping program? I hoped that applying the code to bring an item's price down to < $1000 would eliminate the import charge, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

    • I don't see why it would change. The tax is suppose to be on the value of the item, not what you personally paid for it.

  • +5

Damn it. I knew I should've waited to buy my headphones. Knowing that I could have saved 8-10$ kills me inside :'(

  • Has anyone tried to use the coupon more than twice?

  • eBay is separating my cart to make it 'easier to checkout' and now I can't reach the minimum spend!! I do have many low price items, does anyone know a way around this?

    • terms apparently say 10items per transaction only.

it worked for my card of $151 with 19 items.

It also split my cart for easier checkout when i had 22 items.

hope this helps… decrease cart size to 19items

      • Thanks, I couldn't get it to work with any more than ten which was a bummer but needed a microwave so popped that in and min spend all sorted.

  • How many times can you use the code?

    • +1

Two times only, so 2 lots of 10 items in cart maximum.

      • Cheers! don't think I will need that many though..

  • do you need to buy from an australian retailer? or is it anyone?

  • does any one know if it will work with the amaysim $25 voucher?

    • not work

  • Does anyone know anything about water pressure washers (electric) and know if there are any good deals on eBay? :D :D

    • FWIW I have a cheapo Karcher from masters. It has lasted me 3 years and is reasonably strong. I cleaned the grease off the driveway with it well enough to be able to paint it.

  • 1550 +1s and 1100 comments and counting… Wow…

  • -1

Do you have to pay straight away? Or can you checkout but pay later on the new year via PayPal (at the discounted price)?

  • seems like mobileciti taken down the Sony Z5 Premium. It was there this morning…oh well get to save $$

  • Any good non-Chinese brand white color Android based Phone you guys recommend for the missus? Her Galaxy S2 is starting to play up.

  • lascoe_online has increased all their prices from yesterday. Checked again and most stuff gone up around $50.

  • Dear Bargainers,

I have 3 items in my ebay com au checkout:
    2 from Australia ($185) & 1 from USA ($45)

I get a message from ebay at the top of the screen saying:

"you have more than one currency in your cart so you'll have to complete check out for each currency separately."

    THANKS FOR HELP.

    • See my post. Keep the currency the same. Remove the item that is another currency and it will be fine.

  • Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the transaction to appear in cash rewards? I.e. how do I know it worked?
I clicked on the link in Cash Rewards to ebay, bought something. But I never received an email from CR or does it appear in the pending section? I've only used it once before through Dan Murphy and I am pretty sure I got an email within an hour saying tracking etc.

    • some times you dont get an email

      • Yeah I haven't got an email or has its been tracked by cash rewards. I've never had cash reward not tracked but I've just spent $1700, have a feeling it won't be tracked.

        • Just got an email today, all good.

    • I've had it take a week.

  • hey guys, do you mind helping me…

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/26647798/Screen%20Shot%2…

I'm unable to get the deal. do you have any ideas?
how do I "keep currency the same"? @mrbillions

    • Only thing I can think of is that it doesn't meet the $150 minimum spend (which excludes shipping). The terms don't specifically say $150 AUD, it just says $150. So I'm thinking that if you're paying in USD, it still needs to be $150 USD minimum - that's just my interpretation of the T&C's, I could be wrong.

  • Any s5 deals?

  • If anyone come's across any DVD player deal, please let me know

Confused with too many options so turning to the PRO's for advise

    Thanks

    • DVD player or Blu-ray player? If you a high def TV then get a Blu-ray player on a deal or something. DVD players are about to become old technology (if they aren't already). I bought one, Panasonic Blu-ray player, from the recent DSE deal for $70 bucks, -$40 discount from its $110 original price. I think I saw one that was about the same price in Harvey Norman the other day when I was picking an online order so have a look at HN, JB Hi-Fi and DSE stores etc. But before that, of course, see if you can find one on eBay (but keep in mind if it's under $150 then you won't get the 15% discount).

  • What are good speed USB 3.0 32 or 64 gig sticks these days? I have some kingston datatravellers which are horrible, and a patriot supersonic xpress which has a really annoying form factor.

    Any suggestions?

  • I'm after a portable external hard drive (not so keen on Seagate though), possibly a new Microsoft mouse (not for gaming) and a pair of asics kayano 22 or 21 /nimbus 17 black shoes size 6.5
Has anyone seen any bargains on these at all? I've tried reading the thread as much as I can

    • +8

Or you can use the ebay search function, it works surprisingly well.

      • Yes, but can't seem to find stand out bargains.. Unless I'm missing something..

        • After you search sort by "price + postage", if anything is a stand out you'll see pretty quickly.

    • Both HN and OW have/had WD portable hard drives on sale recently so check their sites.

  • Thanks! Bought a Breville Oracle for $1849 before cashback from The Good Guys eBay store :)

Cashrewards doesn't seem to have worked for me again though :(

  • Thanks OP. Ended up getting some new Original Swat workboots (which I'll claim on tax) and some stuff for my birthday with this deal.

  • Nice deals around! I purchased $800 or so worth yesterday afternoon but no CashRewards email has come though yet. Does it take long usually?

    • I had never used it until yesterday but read it can take up to 7 days. Although I got an email instantly yesterday from purchase on samsung website. Would also be interested to know how long it usually takes for ebay.

    • I made a purchase in November. Still hasn't arrived.

    • I made an order mid day yesterday and the email came in 30 mins ago.

  • Did anyone score a Samsung Galaxy S5 from the Officeworks store on eBay? Or was it already out of stock before the 15% happened?

    • That was exhausted/ozbargained within short period of time when it was first posted couple of days ago so I doubt that anyone scored it on OW's ebay store with this deal.

      • I thought so. I was curious because they still had it on the eBay store, and it was only taken down last night. Would have been a good deal without the voucher + amex discounts in HN.

        • Maybe you're right; they might have removed it when this deal was announced. Heard similar stories about businesses doing things like that lately. It sucks!

I bought mine from the HN deal on Christmas day and only got the $25 welcome discount, as I don't have Amex card. But still I was happy with it.

Managed to score KDL65W850C for $1587.80 + 4% Cashrewards (still waiting for the email notification) on ebay.
