  • I had given up when I wrote the code in and it said "code has expired" only to realize I had typed in "CELEBRATE15" instead of 2015. I ended purchasing 200$ worth of things though, so I'm one happy chappy.

Guys, how does this work. Purchased a dishwasher from TGG for $798 this morning. Applied the voucher. It said "Total voucher amount : $119.70 and the toal amount was "Total : $678.30". Paid for it using Paypal. I have a -$798.00 transaction on Paypal and nothing else. How is the money reinbursed?

    • +1

Click on the transaction, it should say that you paid a certain amount with your balance/bank account and also mention the amount covered by the 15% discount.

    • +1

That's normal. Click on the transaction details and and you'll see under the heading 'Paid with' that you only paid $678.30 and the remaining funding source of $119.70 was paid by '#CELEBRATE2015' or similar.

    • +1

It'll be fine, eBay must pay PayPal the 15%. Happened with me on the last deal.

    • +1

Hi, PayPal shows the original full amount, check your credit card, the amount taken out should be after 15% discount amount, unless the timing off your transactiom just missed the deal.

      • thanks guys. was getting worried. :-)

    • +2

      Every. Single. Time.

  • Code still works at 2:37pm AEDT.

  • Well that was a crazy few minutes, I am just casually browsing the latest comments after doing research all night and suddenly start reading that the T&C changed and I went bananas.

Ended up sneaking in, got the Epson Ecotank ET-2500 (which is like CIS, but from Epson and built in) and saved nearly $90 with the code and cash rewards, but it wouldn't go through unless I removed the ink I also wanted to purchase :(

Then I had to use my second redemption on a foreign currency, a Manfrotto carbon fibre tripod which I saved $50 on, so because it was foreign I also couldn't get the ink or the paper I want to buy.

Unfortunately it now says my Paypal account is all used up…. I still want to push through another $300 worth of ink and paper :)

  • Thanks for the update. I'd love to see eBay's stats on these deals. :)

  • +1

Phew, just scrapped in on the code and grabbed a baby stroller (City Mini GT).
Saved $50 USD! Cheers OP!! :D

    • +1

I got the baby jogger city select.

  • I was on the fence buying something but now that they changed the end date I bought it immediately. Maybe that was their strategy.

    • yep worked on me…

  • Juust scraped in at 11:50AM AWST

  • Grabbed a Canon 6D and some accessories, saved $300! Thank you OP.

  • Worked fine for me, SA 2:30pm.

  • Just put 2 x orders through 13:56 looks like it is still working at the moment

  • Thanks for the warning about finishing early. Put an order in immediately instead of waiting until tomorrow and got the discount.

  • I reckon it will keep working until midnight. Seems rather odd to pull the deal so early…
Anywho, thanks again to the OzB community and the OP for posting it initially.
    Enjoy the savings! :D

  • +4

Anyone get the feeling this supposed premature end to the deal is suss… To get people to get their orders in quick..

  • I stepped out to the shops thinking I had plenty of time to decide what I didn't need but was going to buy anyway - saw the expiry showing up on a number of posts while I was out and was fuming that I was going to have to just keep my money… fortunately the code still works and what a relief, the order is now through at 3pm. A great post, no doubt, thanks.

SAMSUNG S6 for $450 (used). Is this a good deal?
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S6-SM-G920F-32GB-S…?

    • +1

      I wouldn't touch a used phone.

      • I would use a touch phone ;)

    • +2

With the code and cashrewards 19% cheaper so $460 down to $372 it is an absolute no brainer because if I hadn't already used my redemptions, I would buy that now.

That is the similar price to a Moto G 3rd Gen which is a piece of crap really compared to the S6.

Sure it doesn't have a warranty and has a honking big crack on the back, but the front screen is fine, has the box and all accessories, it is a great deal. Snag it before someone else does.

Also use your second redemption to purchase the Gear VR headset to go with it ;P

Edit: Actually, this version does not support Band 28 / 700mhz, so if you are heading to rural areas or spend a lot of time indoors and you are with Optus or Telstra, it is a tough call:

      http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphone…
      4G FDD LTE
      B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B17(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B26(800

Personally, it is too late to get an S6 when I know that the S7 is coming out in March, that is why I got an old Nexus 5 in the meantime on Ebay last week for $170 (my other phone broke) however if you don't want to spend $800 in March on the S7, then this is a lot of phone for $372 even without Band 28.

      • This iPhone 6s Plus looks very tempting, $1149.39 for a 128 gb?

How safe is it to buy from a low rated seller though?

        • Yeah, I am not sure about that one. Definitely don't do cash on delivery, if you pay through Paypal you get buyer protection. But make sure to get the serial number to check the warranty status on the Apple website first.

Personally, if I was spending $1149 on a phone, I would want a proper tax invoice so that I could claim it as a business expense.

Get this one instead, they have an ABN, they say it is Aussie stock, you should be able to ask for a GST invoice: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-iPhone-6s-Plus-128GB-Gold-U…

      • A brand new Moto G 3rd Gen actually is/was $255 from TGG on eBay via this deal (plus Cashrewards). This alters the value for money equation a bit, though the conclusion obviously depends on the user.

    • thanks wolf, i snapped this phone!

  • I got an order in after 13:00 successfully and the following message when placing a 2nd order 15 mins ago (maybe it's just me?):

    Your payment is still processing
If your payment is declined for some reason, we’ll send you an email to let you know. You should then come back to your item(s) and try your payment again.

    • 'If your payment is declined for some reason, we’ll send you an email to let you know. You should then come back to your item(s) and try your payment again.'

      same

      • +1

I got the same message yesterday night. It was all good, payment went through after a few mins

      • +1

Thats fine and happens for purchases with multiple items. Hope you scored!

    • Purchases have now come through, phew!

  • +1

I just put through my items in cart and code still worked

  • +1

    Ordered 3.04pm, still works

  • +3

I have to say, I hate it. Bought so much things don't need. It's time to test the marriage.

    • +1

      I clocked up the full $300 discount… twice…

      feeling very poor.

  • Code still work fine (SA 2:40PM)… Just bought… save $84.

  • code was still working at 3pm

  • Moving overseas in a few months time and need to buy my first ever latpop/notebook.

Not sure whether to get this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ASUS-Zenbook-UX305FA-13-3-Full-HD…

    Or this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Asus-Zenbook-FULL-HD-13-3-8GB-256…

    • Definitely get the 8GB of RAM version because I am not sure you can upgrade Zenbooks as they are so thin, it might have the RAM soldered onto the motherboard like some Macbooks.

I upgraded my Clevo from 8GB to 16GB and it is great, I have a huge amount of tabs open all the time and I was really pushing the limits at 8GB.

  • Just purchased with a $107.54 discount applied, this was at 2:15pm QLD Time, 30/12/2015

  • Has anyone found a good deal on a 4k/HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 compatible receiver?

Still active…was that a heart attack moment or what?!!

  • Still working for me just now.
Fuji Xerox multifunction colour laser printer delivered from Officeworks for $169

  • Anyone recommend a good deal for iPhone 6 Plus?

  • Just became a member to up vote.purchased about ten minutes ago. Thanks! Also used in conjunction with cash rewards (if that works) and the Com bank credit card $250 cashback.

  • Just received a call from ebay.

They are trying to find the off switch.

    Get in quick.

(don`t take me too serious for once)

    • LOL… algorithms are only good when you can find the switch.

    • Purchased $190 worth of items, code was working in cart, in paypal payment page, but when processed it said pending and checked paypal summary just now I was charged original price….

      • +1

See details in paypal transaction. Yoi can see voucher used.

        • What happen if I refund an item out of the basket that I have purchased. will I get refund the full amount, or they will deduct the "discount"?

          NVM.

          Found my answer

14.In the event you return or seek a refund on any item purchased using this discount, the value of the discount will not be refunded to you.

        • O i see it now, still working, thanks

  • Whew… glad I keep an eye on Ozbargain… was holding off waiting for one auction. Got in and grabbed the rest of my shopping list in time :)

  • +1

    Code still working @3:33pm… :)

  • They've cut it short because it's probably costing them too much or eBay store retailers didn't get notified and aren't too happy.

    • Why wouldn't ebay stores be happy other than they might be run out of stock?

      • +1

There's a variety of reasons why sales or discounting aren't welcome by retailers -
        - eBay's discount puts the item below cost (possible, but rare)
        - Retailer may feel the discounting affects purchasing behaviour (i.e mindset of 'I won't buy this now/instore because it's been XX on eBay")
        - Some brands stipulate discounting conditions on retailers (i.e advertised pricing)
        - eBay still takes a commission on the sale, although maybe less or not at all depending on the store when site wide promotions in play (this could mean the margin on a product is less online than what it would be in store)
        - Stock and Fulfilment demands (puts strain on supplies, or causes fulfilment issues / increased logistics costs)

You don't just cease a promotion in retail. Something has gone wrong. Either someone in marketing underestimated the cost of sales to eBay or there was a backlash from a retailer somewhere.

        • Thanks for your response. The only point that I find compelling is the stock issue.

Point 1 about below cost, I don't understand as the retailer gets paid the full amount minus the ebay seller fee right - just like any other time.

Ebay is taking the hit, not the retailers. At least that's what it looks like when you purchase though Pay Pal.

  • Discount still working…bought the Zenos 32" 3D Smart FHD TV for less than $350! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/371397901703

  • Working at 3:40pm (NSW). Changing the end time was a good way to make indecisive people purchase!

  • Still working at 3.42pm. Lucky I checked OzB, was going to purchase tonight.

  • +1

Was going to buy a high-end phone I've had my eye on for months.
Added it to cart. Went through process but didn't buy. Decided to double check Ozbargain for whether people's transactions were going through. Refreshed my cart, seller dropped price of phone by $80.
Re-added phone to cart, went through checkout. Applied 15% off on lower priced listing.
Got 15% off the lower price. Heh. Saved quite a bit. Thanks eBay!

    • may I ask which phone was it?

  • Bah, just purchased the Philips Hue Starter kit but because I was in rush due to the unknown ending time I forgot to use cashrewards. :P

Edit: Still excited to try it out though, just upgraded my Logitech harmony remotes which have full compatibility with them. :)

    • Looking at the CR success rate you haven't missed much.

      • Well I hope it works at least for the Sony Region Free Blu-Ray player I bought this morning where I did remember to use CR. :P

  • Got a message: Unfortunately, this order total does not meet the minimum needed to apply the coupon. Cart value AU $293.85

    • Test code again, seem working still with big stores (DSE, Masters etc…). So unlucky me buying cheap luggage from no-name sellers.

  • Why did they end this early? Was going to sit down tonight and order some stuff :(

    • They've probably met their quota already..

  • +1

If anybody is looking for a Vuly Trampoline, I bought a Classic 2 with all the accessories for $1132 (14ft Tramp, Tent, Bball ring, ladder, mister, and anchor posts) which on the Vuly website has a retail price of $1966. That's a saving of $834 before my additional 4% cash rewards. Bought from these guys - http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/webandwarehouse1?_trksid=p2047675…

    Get in quick!

  • I keep trying to add this T664 ink from the good guys and some Xerox paper from Officeworks and it is really frustrating, it won't go through and it keeps saying "The seller revised one or more of the listings in your cart. Please review the updated listings before proceeding." and even if I remove them and then add them back to my cart, and check out immediately, it still doesn't go through.

And everytime, I have to choose click and collect location five times, for each colour and the paper.

Any idea how to get around this "seller revised" issue?

    • Just click continue with purchase. No need to check what's in cart.

  • 3.20pm Adelaide time and my code still worked.
Anyone know how long it will take for CR to send the email for the 4% off after purchase?

    • I only just received the tracking email for the order I placed yesterday morning :)

  • 3:30pm Adelaide Time, Code worked.

  • Still working as at 3:53 Sydney time from Good Guys at least :P

  • Still working at 1554 NSW time for Target

  • Code worked for me at 15:05 Brisbane Time today.

  • Yep still working 4.07pm AEDST

  • Went in full panic mode just now but it still works. Cheers!

  • Working as of 4:17pm AEDST

    Purchased a Nexus 6P

    • Hi Corbz,

how much memory and how much was it may i ask. Looking to get one for a friend.

  • Any deal here guys ? 950 Pro $402 after discount + cashback.

  • Code still working 4:27PM AEST, used to get $76.50 off on a new Dell U2515H monitor. Plus an extra 2% ($17.34) from CashRewards.

  • Any iPhone6 Plus deal?

  • +2

Just purchased an amazing deal Panasonic CX640A 55inch 4K UHD TV for around $1070 !! The Good guys lowered it even further today so i added the 15% + Cashrewards.

Highly recommend this TV, i did alot of research and at this price range the Panasonic is the best, it has local dimming, 100HZ Native Panel, 4:4:4 which is not available on Samsung JU6400

i went to the store and Panasonic CX640A looked better than the Samsung JU6400 (running same content), the samsung had alot of Judder issues. Only advantage of Samsung is better viewing angle (IPS Panel) but some argue IPS is inferior.

  • Still working 4:44pm AEDT (Melb)

  • +2

Wow, if they did this so we would panic buy it certainly worked..on me at least.
