    • On the phone now, sounds like there's plenty of calls about it.

Didn't refund me, waiting on a call back for resolution.

Just spoke to "Lucy", and when I said I just placed an order, she immediately said… "for the gift cards?"
Sounds like they're being hammered, and after speaking with her supervisor, said they're working on the issue and will give me a call back - no refund as of yet.

      • +2

Spoke to "Lucy" as well. She kept asking me if I got the deal from ozbargain or somewhere else to which i said somewhere else lol

Anyway, she said she will cancel the order via a 3rd party and give me a call back when it is done.

        • +2

Haha just say some dude called ShamelessBargains shamelessly gave it to you.

        • Just got a call back, they're refunding the $25 into my account.

        • @iRMonkey:

yep got the same call - gift card will be sent later on

    • Haha and what was your answer when they asked you where you found it?

      • +2

        "I can't remember, probably google." :P

    • Update on this, got a partial paypal refund of $25, however gc itself has not arrived.

  • I still haven't receive my Coles bonus gift cards from the lumo offer late last year. Sigh…

Just a reminder to everyone who has a GE money based credit card - I stupidly forgot about them treating gift cards like cash advances and paid with my 28 degrees card. It's possible that they will charge $4 cash advance fee and interest on top of that so it's a good idea to check your statement. Hopefully because it's come from target that wont happen as they don't know what you bought.

    • But the thing is, how do they know you bought a gift card? I thought all they see on their end is $100 purchase at target.

      • +1

Yeah you're most probably right. But I was very surprised at them knowing when I bought gift cards via ebay and paid via paypal - but I guess they would've known that the seller was selling gift cards.

    • just interest to ask, will the statement indicate whether it is a cash advance?

      • Yeah you should see something that says CASH ADVANCE FEE $4 in the next day or so if you have been charged. As montorola pointed out though it's very unlikely they will know because target sells lots of stuff that isn't gift cards. I think lots of people were stung with the ebay thing because the gift cards were purely from a gift card seller.

        • cool thanks, at least that way I can tell it was decided to be a Cash Advance, and I will proceed to pay out the card…. not wait till the end of statement and realised there is a cash advance and any purchase afterwards will be charged interest…

        • +1

          @tensai:

That's not quite how it works - you will only be charged interest on the cash advance amount ($125 in this case) if you make normal purchases afterwards they will be treated with the normal interest free period. Transfering $125 at any point will prevent any further interest from being charged.

The law changed a few years ago to force credit card companies to pay off the most expensive rate first - so cash advances will be paid off before anything else.

That said I was probably wrong to raise this point because I am almost certain there is no way for GE money to know that we have bought gift cards from target.

        • @chiefbodge:

Mate no offence but everything you have said is wrong.

The eBay thing was a one off from a dodgy merchant/paypal issue that affected multiple card companies.

Transferring $125 at any point will prevent any further interest from being charged.

This is also wrong. Once you do a cash advance everything before and after in the current statement cycle incurs interest from the original date of purchase.

You have to wait for a statement to be generated and only then if you pay the $125 as per your example will it apply to the higher interest rate (cash advance) but if you then don't pay the full statement balance everything else will continue accumulating interest because of the one off cash advance.

        • Mate no offence but everything you have said is wrong.

I'm not your mate and everything I have said is not wrong. The reason I even brang this up in the first place is that technically purchasing gift cards from any merchant counts as a cash advance under GE moneys terms and conditions. Whether or not they can correctly mark it as so is something for discussion.

The eBay thing was a one off from a dodgy merchant/paypal issue that affected multiple card companies.

No it wasn't, there never was a full explanation about that issue as everyone denied responsibility. The most likely explanation was the CC companies looking at the merchant text and deciding automatically from that whether it was something that fits inside what they consider a cash advance (gift card companies / betting companies etc..)

This is also wrong. Once you do a cash advance everything before and after in the current statement cycle incurs interest from the original date of purchase.

Respectfully, you are wrong, not me, I suggest you look into it further. I'm guessing you have never done a cash advance because if you had've you would've realised that what you are saying is not true.

Just wondering did the T&C of the voucher code excludes gift card?

    • I took a quick look at the app and didn't see anything mentioning exclusion of gift cards.

      • I called up Target and the operator mentioned that it was excluded - didn't see the finer details though

    • +1

The app uses a set of generic T&Cs. The initial T&C's were:

      All deals and promotions

      • Subject to stock availability.
      • Exclusions may apply.
      • No rainchecks applies to all deals and promos.
      • Offers only redeemable on full price merchandise at Target.
      • Cannot be used on Target eBay purchases.
      • All deals and promotions are subject to Target's standard Terms and Conditions.

      Spend and get offers
Excludes electrical. Cannot be used on Target eBay purchases. Voucher is redeemable on full price merchandise only at Target, Target Country and Urban by Target stores with presentation of coupon at the register or online by using the specified promo code. Cannot be used on rainchecks and lay-by purchases and Coles Group Card payment. Limit of one voucher per transaction. This voucher is not redeemable for cash. Excludes sale merchandise and not available in conjunction with any other offer.

But the spend and get offers has now been updated

      Spend and get offers
Terms and conditions. Offer only available on purchases made on the Target App and target.com.au from Thu 7 January to Thu Sun 31 January 2016. To qualify for this offer you must register or sign-in on the Target Australia App to receive the promo code. You must enter the code at the checkout when finalising you purchase. Offer is only valid for one qualifying transaction per account and not available in store. You must order during the advertised offer dates and the discount does not apply to service and delivery charges. Standard Target App Terms and Conditions apply. Excludes all other promotional offers and gift cards. Full priced items only, not clearance items. Some product exclusions apply. Not available for eBay purchases.

        • +1

Mine was 10:48. I paid $100 through PayPal.
My Target receipt says "Good News. We've confirmed your order" (up near the top) but still haven't received my eGCs either.

        • @notout50: same here

        • ditto.

    • Are you going to dispute since you paid $125 for them instead of $100??

      • Sorry, I got 2x $125 gift cards at $100 each so purchase was right. So no dispute needed yet, just need delivery.

    • 10:48am and no voucher here either :(

  • I've emailed [email protected] with my order no. asking for the $25 refund. Hope it works.

  • Your payment has been received

No Email, haven't been charged, then I called them and they say they cant find my order?? Werid??

    • Same here, no charge, only when checked out got an order number, but when I resign in my account, there was no any records in my order page… Do not know what's happened…

      • Give them a call.

  • Anyone received their cancellation email yet? I still havent got mine.

    • May I ask what time did you order the first two?

      • 1st order 10:12
        2nd order 10:23
        3rd order 10:43

        • Thanks, Paypal or credit card?

    • +16

      And yet no up vote?

      • I'm wondering why his comment is on -13. What's the issue? The fact that he bought 2x?

        • Cos ppl are jelly that his order went through

        • I got the reason from his comment below.OP potentially ruined his chance to get more giftcards by posting here because he started creating accounts to buy them earlier.

      • -1

I gave my up vote to the other deal posted earlier, that OP deserves the credit more.

I bought the Giftcard before this deal posted

  • Damn, too late

  • No more stock.. Code not working….!

    • +16

You see that big red "EXPIRED" tag?
      Yep.

  • Got a reply via emai:

    Thanks for your email.

We are currently investigating this for you and will be in touch with a resolution soon.

We apologize for this inconvenience and have a good day!

I think they will cancel my order all together and refund me the $125

  • I gave Target customer centre a call, tried to ask them to give me the $25 difference after Paypal receipt showing $125 instead of $100 in the cart.

But they could only cancel my order instead, 30 mins wasted on 2 calls.

    • at least they offered to cancel your order?

    • Look on the bright side, at least you get to keep the 93c cash back from cashrewards.

      • I don't think so. Doesn't cashrewards withhold payment for about 6 months to claw back payment for any returns?

  • +1

Ordered at 10:47am, got a confirmation e-mail, PayPal account deducted $100, but yet to see the $125 of vouchers. LOL, I'm tipping my order will get cancelled.
