Nice. (Makes it $385 if heading OS).

Usually we get a few posts in before someone mentions the tourist refund ;-)

      • +6

True, but I thought why delay the inevitable.

        • +1

Well these are useful on a plane…

  • +1

    Qc20 $329
    http://premiumsound.com.au/shop/headphones/quietcomfort-20-a…
Unfortunately the QC35OZB doesn't discount these further

  • +3

Even better if you can pricematch at Bose then stack 4 x Amex to save another $120.

    • It's once per merchant so only $30 off?

      • +2

        You need 4 cards.

        • +1

People actually get 4 cards for this reason?

        • @fredblogs: not the only reason.. Check out the HCF thread!
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/253853

        • @fredblogs: I don't think anyone would deliberately get 4 cards for offers such as those, but I can only speak for myself.

Everytime a "50,000 points after $500 minimum spend within 3 months, first annual fee waived" deal comes up, I'm there. This is how you end up with 4 cards.. or many more.

        • +5

@illumination: I pray for your credit rating.

        • @AussieGargain: There's no need to.

You'd only have to if I did this all the time constantly. To be more precise, I generally leave a 2-3 month gap, and I am a bit selective with which of the offers to go for (especially the case if there are a few at the same time).

In addition to that, my credit rating will do the talking when it comes to an application being denied. Only then will I want you to pray for my credit rating!

        • @AussieGargain:

I have been approved for about 20 cards over the last 5 years (balance transfer surfing) and my credit rating is considered above average but YMMV

    • -5

Yeah, too bad I just bought 4 @ $449.. Potentially $100 difference! Oh well.. Can't win all the time.. I did swipe 17 AMEXs though :D

      • +5

Your credit rating must be -19

        • +1

Well.. Additional cards don't impact credit rating, and I have some existing cards long time ago..

        • @feihong:

And you hve 17 names you can put the cards under?

        • +3

@Spizz: 3 cards under my name, 2 cards under my wife's name, we are each other's additional card holder, and my parents are additional card holders of 3 AMEXs. So we could actually have more AMEXs, just haven't got around to do it.

      • +2

        Photos or it didn't happen

        • Go to Melbourne Latrobe Street store and ask about someone swiping many AMEXs :D

        • @feihong: okay… So why 4? You wife and both parents each? When travelling together four of you will be centre of attention ;D

        • @eisniwre: hahaha, I think we will blend in nicely on the plane!!

        • @feihong: Is there any further discount on them at the latrobe street store? saw a 30% end of financial year sales the last time i walk pass there

        • @Ragnarok1982: For QC35s the sticker is just 10% off ($449), and that was just 2 days ago

        • @alwayseric: from the name half of members knew already.
nothing to be embarrass, more of jealous haha

        • @eisniwre: 17 amex is nothing worthy jealousy at all. many of us can do that, if thats what you want.

        • @feihong: so its 400??

        • @Ragnarok1982: It's 10% off RRP of $499 = $449, sorry for the confusion!!

        • @feihong: ahh ok..thanks a lot! guess premium sound still cheaper! To buy or not to buy….

        • @Ragnarok1982: Do you have any QC25 bought after 1 Feb? You could consider trading it up if you do

        • @feihong: nah .. haven't got any. don't think i would lust for qc35 if i have a 25 already lol

        • @feihong:
How does it work? I got my qc25 in March from jbhifi.

        • @somebody123: I haven't done this myself, but I have been told by Bose Emporium Melbourne is that you can bring your existing QC25 and your jb hifi receipt to a Bose store, pay the difference between the RRP ($499) and the purchase price to receive your upgrade.

        • +1

          @feihong:
Thanks. Got it upgraded to qc35 today at Bose Sydney DFO. I paid the difference between RRP and the invoice price.

        • @somebody123: when will this Bose trade in upgrade finish?

        • @Maxii:
I think, they said 15 of August. But it's better to call them to check.

      • AMEX are driving me out of my tree. I had a login, which doesn't seem to work anymore, and they don't seem to be able to assist me with what the issue is. I've tried contacting them and they refer me back to my Bank. My Bank can't do anything 'cause the card works in the stores I just can't login. The only thing I can think of is to cancel the cards and start from scratch again. Anyone have any ideas on this?

        • Just managed to re-register my card. Still think their support service sucks though.

      • and did you sell all of them on ebay or gumtree for profit?

        • +1

Nope, all being used as we speak.. Not doing a Broden!! However, I might join the eBay brigade for the QC25s!

        • @feihong: one for you, one for wife, rest for parents:) none for in-laws.

        • @zan123: I need 8 more AMEXs!!

        • @feihong: you have 8 in laws equal to 4 wifes? LOL

        • +1

@eisniwre: Just 2, if you read my post :)

        • +1

          @feihong:

          Just 2 wives? ;)

        • @caprimulgus: hahaha, good one!!

      • +1

feihong I don't mean to be too competitive but I'm on 19 LOL (similar set up to yours)

        • +1

          Hi5!!

        • @feihong: And good thing we're in a different state which means we're not gonna end up going to the same places and have people being like WTF who are these crazy people with 10+ AMEXs LOL

        • @illumination: hahaha indeed!! Also kudos to Bose, they are only too willing to help out once I told them about the reason why.

  • Do you have to use bluetooth on these or is there an AUX option too?

    • Both options are available. I suppose the in-flight entertainments are not Bluetooth compatible yet

      • +1

And there's a marginally better sound quality with non bluetooth

  • +4

I just bought these headphones on Monday at $449 (price-matched) in the BOSE store. Strongly recommend. Great noice-cancelling, bluetooth connectivity allows you to be connected to two devices simultaneously (useful when switching between phone and tablet). Also comes with AUX cable 2.5mm-3.5mm, and a two-pronged adapter for use in aeroplanes. I'm flying overseas tonight and looking forward to the blissful silence!

    • Were they particularly difficult to price match with?

      • Bose Sydney Westfield will price match any Sydney stores. So St. Kilda won't work.

        • That's fine, I'm in Melbourne anyways so hopefully it'll work for me :)

        • @coco1458: It should work, and I used multiple AMEXs too!

      • +1

I found this deal from last week and went to the BOSE store in Emporium. I mentioned that I found a deal on those headphones for $449 and they said they were happy to price match. They put it through the register, $449, and it shows price match on the receipt - super quick and easy.

That being said, I'm all for supporting the smaller, local businesses when they put up these great deals. Only reason I did it was because I was travelling and couldn't afford for postage to be delayed.

    • Does the noise cancelling work when the 3.5mm is plugged in? I can't find any info online, everyone says it most likely won't work

      • Yeah absolutely noise cancelling works when 3.5mm cable is plugged in. I'm currently doing it now while typing this

      • Won't work wut?

    • At the airport right now with these beauties. Got a massive 35 flights over the next 5 weeks, so will really put these to the test :)

      • +2

That's like 7 flights a week. What the hell do you do for work?

        • +1

          pilot? ;)

        • +1

Combination of a holiday and a status credit run. 22 of those flights are in the final 2 weeks, gotta maintain my platinum.

        • @bangbang: Which FF program?

        • @illumination: Qantas

      • One flight each day?

      • +2

Better take 'em off when I'm ordering another beer or asking you to help me with my PJs in business class, eh?! :)

    • Does anyone know if bose store accept tradein? Got a qc25 brown limited edition

  • Thanks OP, ordered a silver one.

  • Is the noise cancelling significantly improved over the QC25?

    • Similar.

Mainly the only difference being this is Bluetooth

  • How long does this deal last?

    • +1

till the end of the month

      • Why it's 30/6 and it expired. I was about to order it however it expired. Can you send me a code to order ?

  • local stock or grey import?

Really tempting for the silver colour.

    • local stock, will send aus post on monday

  • Looks like further discount is coming…

Start price is 499 then 449 and now 424. Hopefully next month is 349.

    • +7

Don't reckon it will get much lower, further discounts would put them to far under cost.

  • ETA for shipping to Adelaide, if purchased on Monday?

    • Should receive it by Wednesday, Thursday at the latest I think

      • Awesome, cheers! Leaving Australia on Sunday (3rd)

      • @disrupt3r,
Wasn't able to purchase yesterday as funds weren't available in my PayPal account, I will be trying to purchase today as soon as funds are in my account, which will probably be late afternoon today.

Would like to purchase, could I ask if this is express shipping, and if I purchase today, and lets say it ships tomorrow by shipper, would it be likely at all that it would arrive before friday or on saturday? I need it before Sunday.
        Let me know thanks.

If it is not express, could I pay extra for Express?

  • +1

So upon doing some very basic research, it seems the QC35's are literally the QC25's gone bluetooth? Am I missing something here? I want one lol

Edit: Same as QC25 in terms of noise cancellation.

    • +2

Exactly, they are wireless bluetooth QC25s. They also have a lithium rechargeable battery opposed to a AAA battery in the QC25s.

      • +1

Thanks for your reply, considering buying it - and will buy from you if I do. Cheers

      • Can the battery be changed or is it sealed inside?

        • no. it cannot be changed. it is sealed inside.

I prefer this since most people have powerbanks these days anyway. you charge with supplied usb to microusb cable.

        • @xoom: Cheers

    • +1

The sound quality is supposed to be better too. Not a huge leap though.

      • Exactly. So those who have qc25 will likely not buy these but for those who got neither like me. I decided to go with this qc35 since the price difference is not that much.

        • Yep. I would also be buying these if I didn't feel like my brain was being sucked out of my head while the nc was on. Gave me a psychogenic headache I reckon.

  • +1

Bose store Melbourne won't price match this. This is a great price however.

    • Ahhh damn :( Was hoping for a price match

    • Which store? Only official Bose stores price match AFAIK (I.e. Emporium and LaTrobe St).

    • +1

Bought a pair today from Bose Emporium store. Will price match but only to $449.

    • Thanks for the info guys!! So I didn't miss out after all!
