This is the 1070 SC version so a decent clock boost over the stock cards.

EVGA do an intl warranty too so a good brand to buy from Amazon.

EDIT: Make sure to buy in USD instead of Amazons inflated AUD price.

Even better than the past Amazon UK deal. Cheers OP.

    • cancelled my amazon uk order too, still no delivery date.

  • +12

All those looking for a high end graphics card should stop looking and order this before it goes out of stock.

It's much cheaper than the local price of $779 and the warranty is the same with EVGA's worldwide warranty (although it's arguably better since you have amazon to cover your ass).

In terms of performance, this card beats the 980ti in every way so it would be stupid to buy a 980ti for anything more than 500 when you can get a 1070 superclocked delivered to your house for 600.

    • +1

Spot on! I cancelled my Gigabyte G1 pre order from Amazon wen I saw this one appear in stock.

      • Ditto, wasn't too confident with gigabyte especially less likely hood no international warranty.

Update: Just got an official response from Gigabyte. So they won't honour grey imports by the looks. So avoid Gigabyte if you insist some sort of warranty after sales support.

        • eVGA are the only ones with an international warranty as far as I'm aware but Amazon will cover you for a year.

        • +2

@groook: Not sure if I should agree with you but I had a chat the other day with Amazon rep and told me that I will only have 30 days of return window option available. Thereafter, I need to sort out any issues directly with manufacturer.

        • @cloudie9:

I had a chat the other day with Amazon rep and told me that I will only have 30 days of return window option available

This is exactly why I take issue with the people saying "All you need is Amazon, their warranty service is top notch". The reports are too inconsistent, and I wouldn't really want to trade in my ironclad manufacturer warranty, possibility of local return (yeah yeah, MSY is shit we all know that) and ACCC backing, for the possibility of getting Amazon's better service and that's it.

        • @cloudie9: Read it on Reddit so it may only apply to US customers? I have had luck returning things well after 30 days myself in the past though. Either way I would only buy EVGA from international for this reason.

        • @groook: Not too sure about Amazon returns, never dealt so far with all my purchases to date (hoping it stays this way!) but I can agree with you because of EVGA accepts international warranty, that reaffirm my decision to proceed.

        • +1

Gigabyte barely honor local warrenties! RMAd a cardd, took them three months to send me a refurbished card which was doa. Then they said wait another 3 months for another refurbished card. I went to the Dept of consumer protection instead and got a refund

  • comes to $629 aud with shipping?

    • +10

Check out in USD not AUD. Amazons internal conversion rate is a ripoff.

      • OH thank you so much! :D

      • +1

Thanks so much for posting this. I'd already snapped up a different 1070 (MSI Gaming X) last night and paid in AUD, and I was able to rebuy it in USD and save myself a cool $25 like a true OzBargainer.

      • How does one check out in usd? Sorry

        ^^nvm thank you

      • Aren't you gonna get stung $12-18 or so in currency conversion fees by your financial institution anyway?

        • Some are better than others. 28 degrees has no fee and good rates.

        • +2

          @Skramit:

People should just be aware that checking out in USD might not actually save them any money when all is said and done.

For example I do all my online shopping with a normal Visa debit card, and I would get charged 3% of the Australian dollar value as a conversion fee if I checked out in USD, so in the end it would come to around $629 anyway.

        • @cainn: use a no fee credit card and you don't get stung. Like 28 degrees credit card

        • +1

          @Micoa:

Sure, I realize that. But I bet a whole lot of people don't have such a card, and wont get such a card just for this purchase.

        • @cainn:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/253027 previous deal with the coles card, would save you at least $20 with $10 buying the card

      • Yeah made that mistake and forked out $630, honestly not a big deal considering this card is $779 plus post here it's a good deal.

EDIT: ahh stuff it, changed it and saved a little more cash.

      • Has anyone used credit card like Citibank Platinum to pay in USD from amazon and if they can confirm the amount charged normally?

  • Saw this just over an hour ago and forgot to post it, glad it made its way onto ozbargain before being out of stock. Surprised it has been in stock for this long when nothing else on amazon is even up for preorder.

    • +1

Same! This looks like the search is over :D

  • I'm seeing $439.99 + $13.25 shipping, do you need to update the 'delivered' price or did you see something different?

    • No that price is correct. 453 USD Converted to AUD is about $602. Maybe ~$610 if you don;t have a fee free credit card like 28 deg.

  • +3

Someone convince me why I don't need this!

    • +2

You don't need this because 1080ti / titan will be out soon.

      • +2

        Apples and oranges!

        • +2

Well technically apples and apples on steroids.

    • +1

listening to the review of this card by gamers nexus the low end of the gtx1070 is $380USD, but because of the current high demand it has not hit that price point.
so it may be better to wait depending on currency exchange and such.

    • you dont need this…just play at 720p

I haven't even upgraded my motherboard or CPU yet but I feel compelled to buy this! (I have an old Q6600 from like 8 years ago)

    • +3

      Same I'm still rocking a 2600k system :D

      • Can anyone quickly tell me if this is pascal? And will it support VR?

        • Yes

      • +1

im running a 1080 with 2600k - hasnt bottlenecked it yet. bf4 on 1440p at over 100fps ultra. Looks amazing, especially on my gsync monitor!

    • +5

Here's the reason: your q6600 will most likely bottleneck this card.

      • Yeah I will 100% be upgrading my whole system when I get a new GPU

    • Mines 9 years old, overclocked to 3.7ghz at the time, now at 3.2ghz. I might have to upgrade too.

    • I ran this CPU for many years too. It bottle necked my 6970 badly, this would probably cause it to self destruct.

  • having a problem to cancel my ASUS strix 1070gtx, now my $500 gift card balance can not be used, wish this one wont be out of stock soon.

    • live chat

    • When will your strix be delivered? Did you receive a notice?

Ive been waiting for the 1070 ftw, 1070 g1 gaming extreme (when fan fixed) or gaming z

Strix was my top choice before i fell for another "i'll wait another fortnight and see what happens" trap

      • I haven't been keeping track of the different GTX 1070's. Cuuld you give a quick summary on which are the best ones and why? All I know is the Strix has pretty LED lighting.

      • I think 22nd July, my delivery estimate is early August. Most people ordered received notice around 20th July, I ordered on 25th June. Finally ordered Evga because of warranty, think international warranty is more important than 5% performance gain.

        • You can overclock it yourself anyway. So definitely the warranty is better

  • +2

Better than Zoidberg eats Tic Tac…

  • +2

Damn, I'd been so strong with my intentions of waiting for aftermarket RX480.. ordered one.

    • Same here

    • and me too…

  • +4

Beware of scammers and scalpers on eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MSI-GTX-Gaming-1070-Graphics-Card…

    • OMG that's a thing.. UGH

    • +7

He's "away" until Monday so he won't be able to post it until Monday the 19th, which is conveniently about when Amazon would have it delivered.

      • Spot on.

  • Bought one, thanks!

  • Should we take into account all the 1 star ratings for the seller or nah?

    • +4

All the 1 star ratings were from when 3rd party amazon sellers were scalping this for ripoff prices of over 600usd.

      • Ah alright thanks

    • +1

Ships from and sold by Amazon.com

  • +5

Unclear why local seller like PC Case Gear and Futu online brave enough to sell these cards for $850.

Even with GST and FeeBay cost, it should be just $720, $130 profit is a bit too much as they only a reseller and no aftersales support whatsovever.

    • +1

      That's not entirely true.

Under Australian Consumer Law they have to send the card back to Taiwan for warranty claims, you only have to send it them (<$14) or hand deliver it.

Still, the AU tax is a bit high.

    • I had issues with dealing MSY with my faulty motherboard, took me at least 3 months to get it "fixed", which is obviously they had to send it all the way back to Taiwan. When I got it back, the USB chipset malfunction. Ended up having drop-in value refund.

  • +3

Tried so hard to not pick this up….failed miserably, thank you

  • I told myself that 1070 is enough for me but ended up buying 1080 anyway. I bought the Gigabyte G1 for $649 + $14 shipping from Amazon. I ended up paying in USD so hopefully it won't be too much more than $900 after my bank's conversion. I was gonna post the deal but the price was raised to $850 afterwards. I might have bought the last one? Still don't know if I should cancel that and buy this?

    • +1

Depends on your monitor? 4k - stick with the gtx1080. 1440p or 1080p… a gtx1070 will smash any game.

      • +6

The 1070 will not max everything at 1440p/60, even the 1080 can't get there on a few titles.

And no, don't say turn off AA or HairWorks or whatever else — max is max, and the 1070 doesn't do it.

        • Yeah I am thinking the same. Plus I have dual 1080p monitors running at 144hz. I really wanted the EVGA FTW 1080 but can't seem to find it at a decent price anywhere.

  • Was gonna crossfire some RX480's, but this is too good a deal to pass up (not to mention that it's always better to get a single card). Thanks OP.

  • 11 in stock!

    • +1

How do you see how many left in stock on Amazon?

  • Hey guys sorry to be a pain but my total is coming to 457 not taking off the shipping fee, am I missing something?

This would make it like 615aud?

    • +1

      Yolo : (

    • Make sure you pay in USD not AUD and avoid the currency exchange fee that Amazon charge.

      • Thanks man I did that but the shipping fee was still there at cost of $17.63usd

    • Any way you look at it, that's what it comes to. I've tried what people have said about changing it to USD and all, but yeah, still not around 602. Ever.

Which is a shame, 602 is just about insta-buy really.

Although with these fluctuating prices, doubt this'll be last deal like this.

    • It could be that you're getting a higher shipping cost due to your location. Shipping for me came to US $13.25, and when you convert US $453.24 into AUD it's roughly $609.

  • +1

EDIT2: Just chnaged from in stock to "In stock but may require an extra 1-2 days to process.

For me its showing as 'Only 12 left in stock (more on the way)'

So currently still in stock, but as soon as the 12 in stock sell out, it becomes a backorder

    • +1

Ur right, it does on the mobile version. Website just has some vague statement. Haha.

Updated OP. Down to 11 now :P Get in quick!

  • +3

    Will this run Counter-strike?

    • +1

Not sure but as long as it runs The Sims 2 in 4k, I'm happy.

      • Thanks. Hopefully this will get me out of silver

        Already got some sick skins

      • Will run minecraft above 60fps.

        • Might have to try this amplified terrain thing.

    • Which one?

    • I get 60fps running minesweeper, you should be alright

    • Haha. I get ~500 FPS on my overclocked 970 at 1080p on max settings

  • +3

    http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/gpu_displays/evga_gtx_107…

For those who wants to do a bit of read up about this GPU.

  • Is there an EVGA warranty place in Australia, or must products be sent to Taiwan?

    • +2

back to taiwan I think, but at least they will post back for free, for other cards you have to send back to USA, and they wont post back to Australia.

      • No need to worry about those shitty manufacture RMA as here you will be dealing with amazon directly. I have heard some claim that amazon will pay you the postage to return the card.

        • +1

One of the reasons why people buy EVGA is their renowned customer/warranty support. They are the only graphics company atm to offer international warranty, which has been easy to get. Other companies just try to delay you for months before sending your card.

  • My NAB visa charges 3% for international currency, so it's almost the same cost either way for me, being AUS OR US

    • You better go with AUD just in case later if you want to return the card they will return you with AUD instead of USD which can be either higher or lower.
