  • From all the negative remarks about these two companies, Futu Online & PC Byte, should I avoid them altogether? Surely reputable company such as Dell or Sony wouldn't jack up their prices by 20% for this sales? Or am I naive to think this?

    • Yes, 60% benefits to them and 30% to the buyer after the code. 10% for the shipping fee.

    • I usually take bad feedback with a grain of salt and chalk it up to a once off issue. Then I had to to deal with PC Byte. First the RAM was out of stock and my graphics card shipment has been delayed. Sigh.

  • Not happy to buy & go through all of that to be told it's "out of stock"….

    • pc.bytes, btw

      • Not surprised. I was messaged today saying that the RAM I ordered was out of stock. Yet I was the only one who bought it and the stock was "More than 10 available". Then they told me that the 1080 graphics card shipment has been delayed till Monday at the earliest. I even paid for express shipping. Way too much trouble than it's worth.

:EDIT: This is after the discount didn't apply properly and I need to wait 2 weeks to get a refund on the difference.

Very disappointing service. This is 2016 & by now you'd expect that inventory would be correct.

I think this is a case of getting people "in line" & then delivering later on so they don't have to put the money up-front. In other words, they never had any stock to begin with. Very dishonest way to run a business.

I bought what I wanted from MSY. They sent two emails within 8 mins. to acknowledge order & payment. Now, because of the snafu here, I'll likely not see my order until end of next week.

        • @Geekomatic:

Tempted to refund it, but I spent 3 days deciding on what to buy. Might just buy the RAM from PCCG and see if the one I bought from PC Byte is sent Monday. If it is, I get 32GB RAM. If not, I will refund.

  • Hi can someone please help. I dropped my mobile in water and need another one quite urgently. Any deals from the sellers or the price have been jacked up by 20%

Get a Sony Xperia Z5 or Z5 compact. They're waterproof… Sounds like you need that feature.
Otherwise get a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime from one of the deals posted, as it's cheaper.

      • all sold out . except z5compact Coral color :(

    Just bought one. 6 available.

  • Ok despite the warnings on here I went ahead with my order of 8 PC parts to PC Byte because Futu Online gave me an error saying "This seller only allows buyers to purchase 1 item every 10 days". Order was placed Sunday afternoon and 6 of the 8 items arrived Wednesday which is pretty good - I only paid $12 for shipping on the power supply and the rest was free. Called them today and sure enough the motherboard and pc case are out of stock. I got through to a human within two rings, was put on hold for about 5 minutes while they checked stock levels, and I just said "no problem these things happen. Can I get a refund on the two remaining items please?" and the guy said sure no problem, I will place a request with the refund team here and it should be sorted by tonight. If not please call back to follow up with us if needed". So still a bit of a stuff around but there was nothing stopping me calling them at any point earlier this week when I could see they hadn't yet shipped the remaining two items. I'm happy with the discount I was able to receive.

Futu Online though, their lame response was "oh some items we don't allow buyers to purchase more than one of at a time. Did you have two of the same item in your cart?" "No I didn't and the error message from ebay explicitly states my order was denied because I was buying more than 1 of ANY item within 10 days" and then they went quiet. Losers. THEY wasted a lot of my time.

    • update - yeah PC Byte are dodgy scumbags. Called back today as there was no sign of my refund. "oh looks like they made a mistake because no refund request was placed. I have put that in for you now". As others have reported them doing - they are still listing the same products they told me are out of stock as available on their ebay store.

      • After this mornings phone call one of the two items has been refunded. That was at 11:39am soon after calling them and it is 4:15pm now so color me cynical but it looks like I might have to call them back tomorrow for the other item.
