    $1,214 Good Guys https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/apple--97-inch-ipad-pro-wi-fi…

    $999.19 Dick Smith eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/191940902580?_trksid=p2055119.m14…

$214.81 difference. Assume discounts would run large across all models. AU stock versus International stock though.

    • Local stock versus Hong Kong stock; manufacturer's warranty with Australian Consumer Law protection versus "Returns: Not Accepted"; apples versus taro.

      • Apple provide warranties worldwide though. You may be right about them not accepting returns though.

        • Apple provide warranties worldwide though.

Hyperlink to Apple Australia (since that's where you'd make claim)?

      • The Dick Smith eBay says 12month warranty and also has Australian Consumer Law protection; apples vs apples! pay $214 more if you think Apple devices are prone to breaking and it's worth paying $214 more for Aus sold stock, their all made in the same factory!

    • $999.19 almost $1000 for import product. Do you need to pay duty GST?

      • You will not have to pay anything more

  • price match with officeworks to get further 5% off

    • +1

last time i tried to pricematch something that had a coupon on a qualified website , they said they dont match if theres coupons and hung up on me!

edit : Sorry, my statement turns out to be invalid, i assumed this was from the Ebay Ctec sale.

      • Confirm the same happened to me as well … Ah dammit

    • also, would officeworks price match if they dont have it in stock at that particular store? I dont want to buy online as i have a mastercard gift card to redeem which i can only use in a physical store, and when i try to click and collect it asks me for card details :(

      • Call the call center and get it price matched and they will deliver it free (over $50 orders). Done this several times, but you gotta be quick tomorrow morning before they match the price to good guys

        • i cant use the mastercard i have for online purchases (thx citibank) so i have to go to a physical store to pay and pick up, which i dont mind doing if they allow it.

also just checked officeworks website and they havent dropped the price yet :o but availability is showing 'call shop to confirm' , if they dont have it, would they ship it to the store if i want to pay on pick up?

        • @kza2610:
No idea sorry haven't done it that way before

  • I bought an ipad mini with tgg a week ago for $687 and now it's $629, will i be able to claim their 30 day price promise?

    • +1

yeah, I've done it in the past.
you will need to call them up first. they will confirm the price reduction first & if all checks out, will give you a store credit for the difference!

      • I can't choose between an eftpos card and store credit?

Edit: So I just rang local good guys and they said they can't help me because it's all done online. So rang up customer service and said they can't price guarantee their own price. How did you go about with yours?

        • +3

Wait til officeworks drops their price tomorrow and then lodge your price guarantee

        • @ Izefyre:

TGG can't price guarantee their own price what a joke. The whole point of the promo is to make customers feel they got the best deal - except when TGG screw you themselves. OW have now dropped their pricing so go get your store credit!!

  • So if I spot something on the dick smith eBay site say for example this, office works will price match the price after the 20% with a further 5% discount?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-13-MacBook-Air-MMGF2-1-6GHz…

    $1,543. - 20% = 1,234 - 5% =$1,172

    Is this correct?

    • they might say its not the same if Dick Smith uses grey imports

    • +2

Officeworks don't price match or beat grey imports

      • Harvey Normann does the same..does not price match grey import, online stores, stores other state like Brisbane with Melbourne etc.

    • I'm looking for a similar deal but the 256GB version. MMGG2

Apple $1849 ($1770 with education discount)
      Goodguys $1664.10 ($1849-10%)
      DickSmith eBay $1515.19 ($1893.99-20%)

DS ships out of Melbourne which make me think they are Aussie Stock plus it's $149 cheaper than Good guys.

But I have Goodguys $2400 store credit to use. As well as purchasing Apple Care $229 and a Thule cover$50.

  • Remember to use your $25 coupon from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/259867

Have you received your credits already?

  • Has anyone tried to redeem a voucher online recently? When I try to redeem it the button does nothing and I am getting a Javascript error in the web developer console :(.

Tested on Chrome, Firefox and Safari with the same issue.

http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ everyone. Might be worth waiting for a newer product if you're not in desperate need for one now.

    • it's just rumors, just like what it says on their URL :)

      • Yeah of course. The product cycle dates can still be useful.

    • i was looking to get an updated ipad Air version, i dont mind hanging out for a few months if a new one is going to be released but if its not i would bite on this deal now :( grrr stupid apple and all their secrecy.

  • anyone else read about jb hifi possibly buying out the good guys ??

    • The deal has been approved by the ACCC but it is not 100% final as TGG are still making a decision which way to proceed (sell to JB or IPO)

      • +1

Yeah just reading it now, still don't think it will happen (or hope now) but shows how incompetent the ACCC is to even think of letting this happen!! These 2 are fierce competitors on almost all categories bar DVD's Music, Car shit & Gaming

        • Next the ACCC will let JB purchase Officeworks then we are really stuffed!!

  • Thanks OP price matched a iPad Air 2 64GB at officeworks. Came to $623.29.

    • Bargain :)

  • Thank you! Price matched at officework for ipad mini2 wifi 16gb @$315.50

  • Officeworks have now dropped their prices to match TGGs

    • Actually took longer than expected, usually it's like within a few hrs

  • Mac link not working??
