All items (again) sold out, all that remains are the S7 Edge (dual sim) for $727.20 delivered after 20% discount. (They didn't actually "raise" the price, this was another listing that was always there, it's a slightly different model, the G9350 which has a Snapdragon 820 processor rather than the G935FD which has an Exynos processor)

    • Got the same message as well. Ordered the white S7.

  • +1

    well I missed out.

  • Sucks that they didn't restock and the 20% finished. I regret not jumping in when I first saw it. $600 for a new s7 is unbeatable. People paying more than that for brand new S6 at JBHIFI.

    • Local retailers are selling phones at ridiculous prices. Yes, they sold all phones within 1hr and 30mins.

  • +2

The phone I ordered has finally been sent. Didn't miss out after all.

    • yeah, I got the dispatch notice, could it actually arrive in 2-3 business days from HK? Also didn't get a tracking number.

      • +1

I've had previous phones arrive that quick. No tracking number for me either

        • cool, hopefully it's all good and gets here on time as mine is a birthday gift which I've already "committed" to the recipient !!! Haha

        • Did you check your invoice? Is it the amount after discount or before? Mine showing full price like 8xx per phone though i paid 13xx for both phones.

        • @Braintrain1000: mine was not one item. It was an order that contained over 100 pieces. Individual value per item is around US$20. I still had to pay duty and GST

Edit: was replying to your other message

        • +1

@Braintrain1000: mine also showed the full price

        • @yannyrjl: more GST…

  • Is this import going to be a subject of duty fee? As my invoice total says $1717 for two phones and they didn't dispatched separately.

    • -1

      I would think so

    • If the invoices says 2 phones then u wont as the duty is per item not the whole package. But it also depends on who gets ur package at customs and how he interperates it. Best would have been to ship seperately.

      • Thanks for the reply. If they will charge duty then how much will that be?

        • +1

If they charge you, it will be 5% duty and 10% gst. I once got charged these amounts by DHL coz my item value was around US$900 (over $1000AUD)

        • @juicydeals:

I should have used two different accounts to purchase :(

  • Any possibility of bring in more stock for S7 dual sim in white or Silver?
I Want to buy 5-7 for them.
It will be greatly appreciated if shoppingsquare can do that.

  • Phone arrived!

    • Good

    • Was it factory sealed when it arrived?

    • when was the phone dispatched for you? and is it brand new in package?

      • He received way too early. Mine is still in transit

        • +1

same me, but don't have a tracking number so don't know where it is at

        • @yannyrjl: When was your phone dispatched? If it was sent on 25th like mine then it is in transit. I checked mine using a tracking number.

        • @Braintrain1000: I didn't get a tracking number, did you have to request it?

        • @yannyrjl: no, i didn't ask for it.

      • +1

Dispatched on 24/8, seal broken and has a "random check" sticker.

        Phone seems brand new

        • +1

Thanks for the info, I could have had an awesome weekend if i received my item on Friday too.. :(

        • @whatadeal Can you tell in how many days it was received from the day seller marked items as shipped/dispatched.

        • whatadeal, how did the random check sticker look to you? Mine was just a piece of white sticky paper with the words Random Check printed on it with nothing further, doesn't look official at all.

        • @yannyrjl: same. Well, can do nothing on it and the phone looks brand new, so am happy with it.

  • +2

Stock will appear tomorrow morning. :(

  • +1

    Just got my phone :D

    • Was your phone dispatched on the 24th or 25th?

      • 25th :)

        • damn !! That's fast, hopefully I'll get mine today as well !!

        • Congratulations. Which courier service they used for delivery? DHL OR TOLL?

        • @Braintrain1000:
          Mine is almost here…via Toll

        • @tight-ass: lucky. Mine still in transit. They used Toll.

        • @tight-ass: was your phone dispatched on 25th?

        • @Braintrain1000: Not sure unfortunately, I was at GYM when I got a call from mum that my phone has arrived and I went home like a flash.

        • @Slumdog-Bargainer: 😂

        • @Braintrain1000:
Yes - dispatched on the 25th.

FYI for others - I was only provided with a tracking number when I emailed them asking why it hadn't been sent. The tracking number and link they sent me was for DPEX Worldwide, with Toll delivering it here in WA using the same tracking number.

According to the tracking it's just down the road from me at Toll's depot now.

Update: It's left the depot and is on the way here now.

  • Mine is still stuck in transit from Hong Kong. dispatched on 25th.

    • Same here. Its in transit since 10030 Hk time 27th.

      • mine left at 1030 too! I guess we have to wait a day or two

        • Unfortunately yes.

        • @Braintrain1000: At least you guys have a tracking number, I don't even have that. Sent a note to them last week, but so far still no reply.

        • @yannyrjl: did you order one to two?

        • @yannyrjl: I didn't got a tracking number either but got it this morning my productivity at work is like a waterfall today.

          < Typing on my shiny S7E :D

        • @Slumdog-Bargainer: if phone coming through DPEX COURIER then theres a tracking number for each consignment and if theres a different courier service there no tracking. But DPEX IS slow AS F##K

        • @Braintrain1000: just one

        • @Slumdog-Bargainer: At least I'm not along. Mine is a birthday present so will be in the $hit if it doesn't arrive in time.

        • @Braintrain1000: check your tracking again! mine now shows out for delivery at 1106.

Posted on 25th with no tracking number, just received mine… Silver Titanium S7 edge model G935FD. Delivered via DPEX worldwide.
I can confirm its a brand new sealed pack (Samsung seal).
Stock seems to be coming from Samsung Gulf as per the warranty sticker I have on the box along with some arabic writing.

Furthermore, I got a "Samsung Adaptive Fast charger" with Australian Pin as an extra.

I am not opening the box for now. As, its a gift for the Mrs. so I will let her do the honours.

    • Thamks for the update.

    • Cheers for the update, fingers crossed hopefully soon

  • Its out for delivery guys

    • Just got mine, got opened due to random check which sux

      • Still waiting.

        • I just got sent a photo of the random check sticker, it doesn't look very legit, just a white printed sticker, making me a bit sus that the phone isn't brand new

        • Metro Melbourne, still haven't received mine yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

      • Mine has been opened for a "random check" too and the official seal is cut. I don't know whether to open it? Who does these random checks?

        • it's a bit of BS, they should have posted this in the ebay listing and just say their units are not factory sealed. By doing this "Random Check" business it feels more dodgy than if they just said, we need to open or unlock / check etc.

I messaged ShoppingSquare and this is their reply:

"all units are 100% brand new provided by the manufacturer/supplier. units are opened by our supplier or by our dispatch team to check package content.

please understand that, as per listing page descriptions, this item is shipped from outside Australia and units from outside Australia would not be in the same sealed condition as in local retail store. since units from overseas are required to be opened to check item and content before being supplied.

in the case if you are still not satisfied with the unit, for return request due to wrong purchase or change of mind, as per listing descriptions, this item is under a 30 Days Money Back Return Policy. please do NOT start using the unit and let us know immediately, and our support team could follow up to provide return instructions."

  • Received mine - fully sealed with original Samsung seal unbroken

    • lucky you !! I'm getting the $hits with this one, while it's still a good deal despite the opened seal, it puts a sour taste as the sale is based on deceit.

      • You can download PHONE INFO from marketplace and goto menu and click refurbished check and there are plenty more options

  • +1

Received my package at around 6pm.

No duty or GST was applied at customs though the total amount was $1717 (before discounts)

My S7E is sourced from the UK and came fully sealed however, another S7E is sourced from Vietnam and had a random check seal on it. After carefully checking everything I can confirm that both phones are brand new and we are pretty happy with our purchase with Shoppingsquare (as of now)

  • The sealed phone has android patch date of 2 Feb however, paper sealed has july update preinstalled… Hmm…

  • Metro Melbourne, still haven't received mine yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

  • Has anyone had any freezing / random restarts with their S7 or S7 edge when using a micro SD card? In my case it is a Sandisk 128gb card which worked fine in my S5. Seems to be a problem with these models :(

    • Yes. Same here.

There are some horrible issues with s7 and s7 edge which i just checked on xda forums, one of those is screen flickering and hoping not to go through repairs and BS

      • +1

I haven't had or heard of the screen flickering issue so I'll read up on that.

I've tried a Samsung 32gb card which also came from my S5 and the S7 still froze. Also the method with adding tape to the card doesn't work. Been doing a lot of reading online and testing some things out. Will report back if I find anything that works for me.

    • +1

Mine is perfectly fine. I have 64GB EVO+ series in my s7e from d1 and never had any freeze or restart. My sd card was never been used on any other phone before though.

      • +1

That could be a reason too that your card is new. I have a samsung 23gb pro+ card and my s7e does random reboots but removing it solves the problem.

I also noticed that july update is causing massive battery drain.

Anyone also facing battery drain issue?

        • Interesting. I've flashed to asx may version and been getting ~5:30hr (no more than 6 though) SOT with which I am happy with. I disabled update installer (don't like updating since I feel updates make phone slower) using Package Disabler so I don't get any annoying update pop ups

    • +1

Yes, I experienced all-round weirdness when I first got my S7 Edge 6 months ago… crazy high battery use, lockups etc. I eventually found it was to do with the 128Gb Card I have pulled from my S4. It was FULL to the brim of music. Removed the card and the phone worked perfectly. Put it back in and the same issues arose. Had a look at battery usage and found 'Media' to be consuming the most… whatever that meant. Formatted the card and the phone also worked fine. Copied the music back over to the card and it worked fine for a while but a few weeks later it started stuffing around again. Deleted SOME of the music and it was fine again. Bought 256Gb cards (one for myself and another for my wifes S7 Edge), copied the entire music collection over and it's been perfect ever since… on both phones.

So, I suspect the S7 needs a bit of headroom left on the memory card otherwise it gets itself in a mess. Also, the 'Media' battery consumption issue was due to corrupt music files that the software couldn't get past so be sure to check that if your battery is also flattening quickly.

      • Can you please answer a few questions.

Which brand is your 256gb card and is it original? I Inserted my card after a proper reformat but the problem was still there. I have pulled out my card now and installed the july update and the phone is behaving well but it seems like the battery life issue is still there

        • Yup, they're 256Gb Samsung Evos purchased via this deal I posted a month or two ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/257903 If your phone is still carrying on without the card then obviously the card isn't to blame. Have you had a look at what's consuming the battery (Settings, Battery, Battery Usage)?

        • Try booting your phone in safe mode and see if it still freezes. I've been running in safe mode as a test with music playing while browsing through my gallery (thousands of songs and photos on the card currently). Didn't freeze at all for a couple of hours, but as soon as I switch it back to normal mode, the phone acts up again so I would assume it is a software issue.

        • @SteveAndBelle: ill report back tonight

        • @SteveAndBelle: before i installed the ota update of 1 july 2016 phone was a mess. After the update and removing micro sd card phone still crashes and reboots pretty occasionally. Battery drain is quick 10% with 20mins sot or less. I use fb and 8ball and use samsung browser. Used that package disabler and disabled 90 apps.

        • @Braintrain1000: Yeah OK, now that sounds like a faulty phone!

        • +1

          @Braintrain1000:

I've flashed mine with an Aus firmware (XSA), august update with a factory reset (doesn't trip knox as it's an official firmware). It has been a lot less buggy, has happened 5 times in the past 24 hours, compared to it happening every few minutes, so that's another option you can try.

        • @myclock: Ok ill flash with this update too. How come none of those youtube reviewers ever faced these issues! I watched almost every review before buying Samsung again and almost everybody is stuck with faults and errors.

        • @myclock: hi when using odin for flashing FW Should I just put the large 4b file in AP and leave other things and options as it is?

I update my firmware with a xsa aussie version but noticed that the baseband is still the same and thus draining battery like a pig. I think this APEQ Baseband is the problem…

        • @Braintrain1000: I used all four files. I followed these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/official-stoc… . Use the csc file to wipe the phone, if you use the home_csc it will update the csc but wont wipe the phone from what I've read.

        • @myclock: followed. flashed it but phone was freezing with that FW so installed OTA BPHC update. I think battery drop will continue on this device no matter what I do and i still i am not able to check the exact SOT since all stats reset after reboot issue.

        • @myclock:

          is it normal?

          Battery down by 9% (67% to 58)
          time used 1 hours
          screen on time 35MINS

          ???

          optus 3g all the time
          watched some youtube 15mins
          some browsing
no fb and other social services

        • @Braintrain1000: That does seem abnormal. Check battery usage to see if Mediaserver is one of the higher used apps as that is a common bug as well.

        • @myclock: media server is not even in the list. Android system and cell standby are the culprit i guess. Which service provider r u with?

        • @Braintrain1000: I'm using tpg. If you are using chrome as your browser, I've read some reports that it can drain your battery. Report back to compare how long a fully charged battery lasts you. I get at least a whole day.

        • @myclock: yes i read that too about chrome. I, then installed chrome DEV version as someone on xda said it solved his problem. ill try Mozilla after complete battery drain and report back. on xsa BPHC at the moment. ill report back. thankyou.

        • @Braintrain1000: let me know how many freezes/ restarts you have (providing you're still using a sd card).

        • @myclock: my phone doesn't like to charge when its on. so i switched it off and charged till 100%. switched on after 10mins and here we go again it froze and rebooted more than 5 times and now the battery is 96%

each time it freeze and reboots battery stats resets automatically.

        • @Braintrain1000: Looks like your phone has a plethora of problems! Should contact shopping square, but try having the fast charging option turned off assuming that you are using it.
