UPDATE
The only S7 models left in stock are the single sim versions - they have not raised the price on these. Out of stock

All items (again) sold out, all that remains are the S7 Edge (dual sim) for $727.20 delivered after 20% discount. (They didn't actually "raise" the price, this was another listing that was always there, it's a slightly different model, the G9350 which has a Snapdragon 820 processor rather than the G935FD which has an Exynos processor)

        • @myclock: Hello! I downloaded this Taiwanese FW (Batman edition) and it seems like all the problems are gone after flashing it. My wife's s7e came with the same Taiwanese FW minus batman theme and i can confirm it the most stable FW for s7e right now IMO. No hiccups or rebooting or stupid battery drain issue or freezing.

This specific offical FW was extremely hard to find and had to translate pages from Chinese language.

        • @Braintrain1000: Good to hear! I'll try flash mine to a taiwan rom one as well and see if I have any success, although mine is just the S7. I did have a feeling that it was a software issue, as safe mode didn't cause my phone to freeze or restart.

        • @myclock: Yes sure. Look for Baseband APGB and built APGJ if your s7 has these available.

Please update me here once you update it with this FW.

Please also note that after you flash this FW
          1) please run a factory reset in settings.
          2) let your phone learn your usage pattern without power saving option turned on for the first battery cycle
          3) Do not sign in to Google at setup wizard and later only update chrome, YouTube and other social services like FB and
          4) before you disable any microsoft app make sure you also cache in all manager.
          5) Dont disable Samsung apps yet. Leave these for some other day.
          6) DON'T INSTALL ANY OTA UPDATE :p

Feature that are useless to you

        • @myclock: One more thing i have just discovered is the SIM related issue. if your phone with the existing FW is rebooting or rebooting after a full charge then goto settings > time and date > UNTICK automatic network time & date.

        • @myclock:IMPORTANT! Please remove your simcard from the phone before you flash. during the setup tick "send diagnostic data to Samsung" and once the setup is complete and your reset your phone only then add your sim. I mean it should be the last thing to do in the task.

        • @Braintrain1000:

Is the removal of the SIM only required when updating this particular version of FW/phone? The reason I ask is that I've always updated the FW on my phones (D/l from sammobile) and I've never removed a SIM from the phone before starting the process. I just updated the FW on 3 more phones today (S5's) to the latest FW without moving the SIMS and didn't have any issues once again. I also did a S7E G935FD last week.

        • @Braintrain1000: For the first couple of days, I wasn't using a sim card in mine and it was still freezing/restarting so I believe mine is to do with the sd card, but I will turn off automatic time updating. Thanks for the tip.

        • @myclock: Thanks for letting me know. It was just a tip. Good luck :)

        • @tight-ass: I removed the sim card and flashed with a Taiwan FW (the same FW which came preinstalled with my another S7E) its stable and I got crazy battery life. From 80% to 0% It got me 20hrs and 5h:20m SOT with lots of activity.

I thought removing sim card could be a good idea but its totally up to you :)

        • @Braintrain1000: Doesn't seem like there's a Taiwanese firmware available for the S7, however I'm using a Sandisk 32gb micro SD card that was brand new, and hasn't seen a problem yet. Now assessing if it's worth to buy another 128gb card and pray that it doesn't make the phone act up.

  • My wife s7e 935fd is ON since 1 day 6 hrs with 6.15hrs screen on time with battery saver or any app disabled still on 20%.
