Great headphones. Especially on a plane or near noisy machines, lawn mower, noisy aircon, traffic noise and etc…

    • +18

      Forgot wife

      • +17

It doesn't work, believe me I've tried.

  • +1

nice deal! Good opportunity to snag one for anyone who missed out a few days ago on the Microsoft Store deal

  • +3

Shipping kinda makes it more of an average deal though - costs $20 to VIC. Headphones themselves are a good price nonetheless.

  • +3

These are absolutely indispensable for long flights and office work.

  • +1

How does the flight's noise cancelling headphone compare against this? About 50% noise cancelling compared to bose?

    • +2

I flew Emirates and their headphones are just awful. People using them kept trying to turn the in flight entertainment up past max volume to hear, and visibly getting frustrated.
I had mine on about 50% volume. Perfect.

  • can you turn on/off the noise cancelling on these?

    • Yes

      • +3

Yes but only in wired mode. If you are using them wirelessly they always have noise cancelling on.
If noise cancelling is off then so is the equaliser so they don't sound as good either (but if you run out of battery at least you can still use them)

    • +2

      No with Bluetooth/wireless.
Yes - only if you turn off the Bluetooth function and use it with the cable.

  • @davidchillari Any chance you can match Microsoft store price? i.e., $399.20 incl. shipping?

    • +5

Sorry, we are a small family business trying to compete against multinationals. We are giving these at a great price.

  • would you able to do this on QC30 as well?

  • +1

What are the chances of jbhifi or myer price matching this?

    • +3

      Worth a shot.

      • Bump, looking at purchasing from VIC via price match.

  • Perfect timing..great deal.

  • +1

I would love to get this, but the shipping cost stopping me…

On second thought, bluetooth 5 is around the corner, they will release a new model very very soon. Bose always uptodate with the newest tech…

    • Shipping fee is a killer.. Might just try to get a JB price match. You'll still need a new phone to take advantage of BT 5.0

      • But that won't be the only improvement in the new model.

    • +4

to the contrary, Bose are usually a year or so BEHIND tech. They want to make sure they do it right, not be the first to get the product out there

    • I have many Bose products. I wouldn't say that Bose were the fastest with changing technology. Eventually maybe, but never immediately. May not be worth the wait at the end of the day.

  • Good deal.

Ordered 2 pairs. ETA on orders placed today? Early Jan?

    • correct

      • Wrong. Already got them :)

  • I hear these aren't too great for bass-intensive music. Is this accurate?

    • +2

I find the bass to be great, but it really comes down to personal preference. Best bet is to try them yourself with your own music in a Bose store.

    • +2

For a better option I suggest the Sennheiser PXC550. About $100 more but you can play them flat out without ANY distortion. Noise cancelling just as good.

      • Cheers for the responses! Will give it a think through.

    • Most of my music on my media servers are in FLAC format rather than MP3. These Bose units are more than capable of handling my high intensity sources so your "bass-intensive music" should not present a problem.

It's the quality of your music source that is important rather than how how it thumps along. If you are belting out high loss MP3's, your ears won't thank you either way in the long run.

  • I try to fly on the A380 whenever possible. I can tolerate the noice without the headphones.

    • Really? The A380 is loud.

      • It's the most quiet plane interior I've experienced in terms of engine noise. Even quieter than the newer A350 or B787. I

      • not if you're upstairs and in front of the engines. probably the quietest flight i've ever been on.

  • +16

Small business offered a deal. You go to JB for price match. Classy.

    • It's sad, but I think the root of the problem is how expensive it is to ship things around Australia.

    • Yeah, that's just low ball

Small business work hard to compete

  • Good to see Sony are now giving Bose a run for for money.

    • It would be even better if the sub $500 deal came back.

  • Harvey Norman won't price match apparently. According to their Price match policy:
Exclusion: Competitors that do not operate multi-store omnichannel retail operations

(For those who have not yet claimed their $100 cash back offer thru AMEX, this would have been $299 after pricematch)

    • +1

Could you please tell me more about this AMEX deal? When does it end? (my mind keeps telling me to wait for the MDR-1000x to go on sale but this AMEX offer may help me pull the trigger as i'm still very undecided on which one to get) I'm also going overseas in Jan so get GST refund as well! thanks

      • AMEX deal is over. See Morri's reply below.

Did you try price-matching online? I price matched with videopro last week to combine with the amex deal. There was no problem.

  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/273327 enrolments for the offer were novemember? One time offers. EDIT: (was replying to the question re amex, not main thread - I blame the browser)

Much like this deal (back to $438.00 now), you have to get in quick.

    • Still showing 399 for me….

      • Yeah, sorry never updated my post to say its 399.20 again.

At midnight last night, went back up just as i was about to order to 438. A couple hours later was back to 399.20 and I jumped on them :).

        Good deal. +1 from me.

  • its so damn hard comparing models,

how do you guys do it?
I go to jbhifi and sit there plugging my phone in,

cant even tell the difference for most of them !! :)

  • Could not resist, upgrading from my QC25s Triple black.. :-)

    awesome headphones!!

  • Hello, I am wondering if purchasing the item with insurance is worth the extra $5, making my total $425.18 inc. GST.

    Thanks.

    • +1

Don't worry about the insurance. We have had 1 or 2 items go missing in over 6 years. That was because the couriers left them without signatures.

Hi, Sorry to sound superstitious but how do I know if your product is genuine, and approximately how long would the product take to ship to Melbourne.

        • +3

We are one of Bose's oldest dealers in the country. We have been selling Bose since 1970s. Please call Bose to confirm if you like. Their number is 02 8737 9999. Shipping time to Melbourne will be mid to late next week. (New Years day long weekend, courier backlogs, etc.)

        • Thanks for replying quickly, lastly, how will the warranty work if there is an issue with the QC35's?

        • +2

@Dandew:warranty is handled by sending back to us or raking to a Bose Store. There is one in melb CBD

        • +2

Thank you for clearing things up, I have just purchased a pair for myself.

          Thanks David.

  • +1

Please note these are selling like hotcakes. We are getting more stock in on 3rd Jan. so there may be a very slight delay in shipping/pickup

  • Great price OP, unfortunately the shipping killed it for me as I'm in Brisbane. But massive props to be a small business competing with the big companies!

  • +2

Just picked these up from the store, can confirm that the product is genuine/authentic. Great team in the store, will definitely be sending business their way for future purchases.

    • +1

      Thanks. Hope you enjoy.

    • Agreee, dropped by this morning - fantastic store in the heart of Marrickville. I lived a few streets away for 2 years and never knew! Very friendly staff, wide range and good prices.

  • -2

Has anyone been able to pricematch at a Vic JBHiFi?

  • Received my 2 pairs already! Thanks OP. Great shipping time and excellent price.

  • +1

We have just been able to attain a marginally better shipping cost. We are able to ship to Brisbane for about $16.00

  • Hey im quite close to marrickville so would these be available for pickup tomorrow (new years eve)

    • +1

Yes, we are open 9-4 tomorrow.

      • Awesome. Sold!

      • +1

        edit. 9-3pm tomorrow

  • Is this a express shipping? And I assume it will be sent with receipt/tax invoice? As Im going oversea soon, will need it for TRS. Thanks.

    • +1

It will be sent out on tuesday and you will get a tax invoice. Delivery time depend on you location. Usually next day to syd mel and bris.

  • -1

    Back to $438

    • +1

??? Back to $438??? We still have them at $399.20

      • Hey David just wandering if the price is still $399.20. Because the website states $438 currently.

  • -1

Have to say, the courier you are using is a total piece of shit. The "Couriersplease". Those who are interested could google it up. Tons of negative reviews.

I ordered one pair on 4th Jan around 11 am, ready for collection the same day, and was picked up on 5th Jan. After overnight transition from Sydney to Melbourne, it was supposed to get delivered today.
My wife stayed at home waiting for it the whole day, and no delivery, no bell ring, no card left at all. I called the customer service 3 times today, and they cannot reach the driver for status! And the status at the courier website is always "Your parcel is on-board for delivery", even now at 6:50 PM.
The reason why I am so angry is that I will go on travel this Sunday, and I believed in the next day delivery so I ordered it on Wednesday, so that I can get it for my flight! Now I don't know when I can get the parcel or even who it is with! Not to mention I have paid 19 dollars for the delivery!

Now I am seriously thinking if the headphones have been lost or damaged during delivery. Worst shopping experience ever. This is my first time shopping at Apollo HiFi, and I don't think I will come back again until you replace the Courier.

    • +1

      Hi Kevin,
Sorry to hear about the courier. I know you have left already. Please let me know if we can do anything.

  • Hi david, can you confirm when this deal ends for $399.20, looking at purchasing 1 this week.

    • +1

Buy now. Deal with end soon.

  • Good price, do you accept Amex?

  • 3% surcharge on AMEX. (sorry, AMEX charges us nearly 4%!)

  • +1

    Hi All…
Meant to post this earlier this month but other urgent issues have intruded.
I have to say that every thing that David Chillari responded with above has been spot on.
I ordered from Apollo Online on Sat 31-Dec-2015 and had them in my hot little hands by Thursday 5th Jan. I would have had them the day before if the courier company "Couriers Please" were telling the truth, but weren't. (They said no-one was at home when in fact we have clear views of our front entrance way and also monitored by way of motion-activated security cameras). Apollo were very fast and efficient in their processing of my order and were picked up immediately.

I noticed from Apollo's web-site that these little beauties (Bose QC35's) are still being advertised @ A$399.20 + freight.

    About the product:
The Bose QuietComfort 35's are performing beautifully and well above my expectations. I am now retired, but have spent over 40 years with radio and or sound recording. I have had a variety of high-end headsets related to my past activities including Bose, Sennheiser, AKG etc.

Initially I thought these Bose units may have been overpriced and poor value, however these are well engineered and constructed units and worth every cent imho.
CONS. Nothing in life is perfect. My only complaint (valid or otherwise) is that in the hot and high humidity climate where I live, these units tend to build up a lot of moisture after being on my head for a period. The same could be said for most headphones, but that is more so for the Bose QC 35s which sit very firmly on the head adding to the effectiveness of the noise cancelling functionality of these units. To any owners or prospective owners, I would suggest leaving out of the case for a while before packing away to avoid moisture causing mould/mildew. A couple of those silica packs in the case would be a good added precaution as well.

Another good tip. At time of purchase, it is always worthwhile to have spare headset cushions (regardless of brand) on hand and stored in a cool dark dry place. Once headphones become a couple of years old, it is almost impossible to buy them, even on eBay. I have a beautiful pair of Sennheisers which are 40 years old and still going as good as new as I have a good supply of spare ear cushions which are impossible to buy now.
    Ciao for now :)

    • Thanks for the vote of confidence. Glad to hear you are (relatively)happy with your purchase and our service. (Sorry for the late reply…I have been overseas.)
