Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

My ipad money got paid off itself just by locking fuel.

  • -1

anyone getting ""don't sweat it - your visit are recorded bla bla bla" below the "my card" barcode?
Mine has been like that in the past few weeks, and even though I locked the fuel price and scanned the barcode, the discount was not applied in this case, and it is pointless to argue with the staff in store.

had lost my discounts in the last 3 refuel :(

    • Get a receipt, put missed discount through the contact us on app.

  • +1

as of today, 98 fuel is now 22 cents more expensive than e10, rather than previous 20 cents.

  • I lock the price on Ipad take the photo with my android phone. When they scan the bar code it is all good, but then the discount is not getting or reflecting the final price. It happened to me a few times. The person at the counter, can't explain what went wrong. So I pay the full price. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

    • Yes, I experienced it a while ago. I didn't get a receipt from the cashier. I emailed 7Eleven after that and they sent me a phyiscal gift card for $1.00.

    • +3

you should be able to just log in to the 711 app and use your locked in code directly as long as you have the same account on both

      • Has anyone tried this?

        • I assume it works, since that's how alot of people get the fuel lock initially, they ask someone else to log in to their account from a different device and then they log back in on their own device after the lock has been done.

        • +4

I can confirm this works. I have the same account logged onto 2 phones. I fly with 1, and show them the barcode on the other.

If you tap 'fuel lock' on the non-flying phone it will show you the lock you made on flying phone.

          • @CodeXD: Sweet, it worked! But my location on my iPad is now stuck in the faked location…

  • Is anyone able to help me install iFakeLocation on Ubuntu (linux)? I'm running Ubuntu 20.04, but I am far from proficient with linux. I'm more of a GUI user. I got as far as cloning the github repo but I'm lost from there. Obscure request but hoping someone can help!

  • Hi everyone :)

Hopefully someone has a free minute to help me out.
I have been trying to get this to work for hours now.

I am on 14.6 ios with iphone 12 pro max on a mackbook air and have downloaded ifakelocation and the .NET core 2.2

Whatever I do I can not see my iphone on the drop down list at the ifakelocation website. I have trusted my mac and my phone is visible and plugged in, and I still can't see it.

Could someone please spare a minute and help me out?

    Thanks in advance :)

Probably plug out and plugin few times will do the trick…it's how it worked on my iPad and windows laptop

      • OMG!! thank you so much!! It actually worked!!

        • Or just use imyfone virtual location.

  • 7/11 app under maintenance for anyone else? Kinda paranoid ive been shadow banned 🤣

    • +1

      just checked, same for me

      • Thanks @Toffcuz

    • Hopefully we will able to lock fuel prices as we used to do after this maintenance!

    • +4

      Working now.

  • -1

Does this still work? I tried for the first time this morning but the app detects I'm using a gps spoofer.

    • Need to root your android (read the comments for how to) or use the plug device into computer applications for apple (also look back through the comments). Apple is easier

      • Seems a bit complicated for Android. I'll probably give it a miss but thanks anyways.

        • buy any cheapo iphone for less than $100 or even a ipad as a backup phone or whatever you wanna call.
Use that only for 7 eleven for the moment.

          Fuel lock saves alot

        • its not that hard at all to root, theres just about a guide on every phone, nowadays magisk has made it much easier to control everything, give it a try

  • Can I get some assistance on how to get iFakelocation to run on Mac?

I downloaded the zip file form Github, though I an unable to find a DMG file in the unzipped folder to install or run on Mac?

Just moved to MacOS from Windows, and not entirely familiar application install etc yet.

    • Do you own both mac and pc?
Well, first you are supposed to click on the link on download options with Release text that redirects you to several version.

You should be able to find the correct file depending on your OS.
Let us know how you go

  • EDIT Didn't read the first page, that never used to be there.

I'll try again and see if I have better success.

    T.I.A

    • Not having much luck. I think I need a fresh "root" (don't we all) but not sure where to start. Page references please or a PM if anybody is feeling helpful. I used to have a device that would work and now I'm getting a bit over having to ask a friend every time I need a new lock.

      Cheers.

      • +2

I rooted my old phone last week (Galaxy s8) and have had success.

The only extra thing I needed was to install the universal safetynet fix.

        https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-module-universal-s…

That said, it is a lot of fuss - I can usually get a reasonably good lock without having to travel too far from home if I pick the cycle wisely.

        • Cheers, I'll have a sus, I've got some old notes for the root so I'll flash the phone and start again and see how I get on.

  • Does the use of fuel lock impact Velocity points? I used my fuel lock but my points havent updated in Velocity. Should i scan my velocity in store as a precaution? Noting that I didnt have to scan my Velocity card to redeem the 711 point promo.

    • i have received velocity points for purchases with fuel locks

  • Hi guys,

I'm getting the message "Mount failed with status: N/A and error: ImageMountFailed"

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

    Thanks!

    • Make sure iTunes is open on your pc.

      • -1

Music is open, sorry I have a Macbook. Still getting the same message?

        • restart the phone

  • +5

Happy to help 5 persons who need fuel lock. Please PM details, first 5 gets it.

  • Does anyone know how to make this work in ubuntu please - have followed all the steps for iFakelocation to be used with an iPhone but the file mentioned in the instructions doesn't seem to exist. Do we need to the compile from the source code first?

    • +1

I think I've just managed to puzzle this out myself. I am by no means proficient with linux so go forth at your own risk. I am on ubuntu 20.04.

Cant see how to remove the hyperlinks below so you can copy
      and paste into terminal.

      Setup
      In terminal:

      wget http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/i/icu/libicu57_57.…

      sudo dpkg -i libicu57_57.1-6+deb9u4_amd64.deb

      sudo apt-get install dotnet-sdk-2.2

You may also have to try:
      curl https://packages.microsoft.com/keys/microsoft.asc | gpg —dearmor > microsoft.gpg

      sudo mv microsoft.gpg /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/microsoft.gpg

      sudo sh -c 'echo "deb [arch=amd64] https://packages.microsoft.com/repos/microsoft-ubuntu-bionic… bionic main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/dotnetdev.list'

      sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https

      sudo apt-get update

      sudo apt-get install dotnet-sdk-2.2

Then navigate in terminal to the folder you extracted the ifakelocation to (cd command)

      then:

      chmod +x iFakeLocation
      ./iFakeLocation

For reference this is a combination of these solutions:
      https://stackoverflow.com/questions/54065894/cannot-install-…
      https://github.com/dotnet/core/issues/4616#issuecomment-6193…

      • This seems to get it running.
But now I get this error when trying to find the ipad attached via USB.

Unable to load shared library 'imobiledevice' or one of its dependencies. In order to help diagnose loading problems, consider setting the LD_DEBUG environment variable: libimobiledevice: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

If anyone has luck or a solution to this please let me know!

  • Could anyone confirm if the gps spoofing apps like ifakelocation still work on iOS 15?

  • +4

PSA: Don't update to iOS 14.7 if you use ifakelocation. They aren't supporting it yet.

  • iFakeLocation error mssg: "Your device's iOS version is not supported at this time." - Can anyone help please?

My iphone 12Max is running iOS 14.7, it was working OK yesterday and today I have received this error mssg.

The above mssg mentioned iOS 15, but seems 14.7 is latest one for my iPhone? Confusing… Thanks in advance

    • Only now I saw bargineer PSA mssg :(

I can confirm it is not supported, hope it will be solution soon. :(

Or if anyone know how to roll back to 14.6 it is much appreciated :(

      • +1

You could join the Apple beta program https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ and upgrade your phone to iOS 15. Bit of a catch 22 though as you might have other issues depending on how you use/rely on your iPhone.

Hey Android people what's a current guide to a working method on this?

I noticed they have kept tightening this over time.

    • Root.

    • Please read the original post. The information you seek is there.

  • +14

Hey guys, noticed Apple rolled out a new iOS update (14.7) and have updated the developer images. Just need to plug in your iDevice and try again and it should work (no need to re-download iFakeLocation).

    • Thanks so much! Really appreciate it!

  • +4

Can we make a separate thread which goes through troubleshooting and people can post there if they need advice after troubleshooting? And link that to OP? There's 1333 people subscribed and for nearly a month, all notifications have been people asking for help. I'm all for helping but there's just so many notifications!

PS. Sorry about the notification ;)

    • +5

What do you want this thread for then? If it’s not for troubleshooting the fake location method of locking in fuel…

It was initially intended as a thread for fuel price notifications but that’s kinda moot with the various options for sites that track and notify.

  • +2

There's probably a better place to post this since it's not 100% related to 711 fuel app but I'll post anyway. If this is somewhere else already, apologies.

Currently the cheapest 91 fuel is 131.9 but local 711 is only 138.9, same as most other stations in the area

Just found out today that, you can stack a Coles shopping docket discount (4c) with a Car sales/Linkt (toll tag) (4c) and >$20 spend in store at coles express (10c) for 18c off per litre. Not to mention 1 fly buy point per $2 spent which is 0.25% off (~0.3c lol)

So if anyone has coles shopper dockets and assuming you can spend $20 on things you need in store, this may be more worthwhile depending on location

    • Yes, sometimes there are targeted Coles Express incentives as well. Principle also applies to Woolworths petrol.

      • Oh do woolworths/Ampol do the shop in store for additional cents off? and are they also partnered with Linkt/Carsales or anyone else?

https://www.caltex.com.au/woolworths also according to that FAQ discounts don't stack. TBH I've been using 711 for the past year I don't really know what other stations offer anymore. Would be good to know

        • 4c/L for Woolies supermarket receipt, spend $5 in store for another 4c/L, 5c/L reward often appears in EG Club app (formally Woolies fuel) and discounted Caltex gift cards for another 3%

          • @sween64: Also, if you have an NRMA membership, you get 5c off premium and 3c off regular fuels that you can stack with this.

  • Is there a price floor for u95 fuel or something? Sydney has been in lockdown for weeks and the price hasnt budged from 143.9 (besides a random dip to 139). Qld seems to be capped at thay price too

    • 144.7 lowest for U95 now
Should have just locked it at 143 !

      • They must be pretty conscious that there are a bunch of people lining up getting ready to fuel lock. Cheapest 3 in NSW & QLD were 143.9, all of a sudden it isn't.

At that price it isn't worth locking in for me, plenty of stations around me around 1.45~ plus you can stack those stations with discounted GC's, unlike 7-11

  • +1

I've locked in the price on my iPad but when I go to log into the same account on my android phone I get an error
"That didn't work quite as planned, there seems to be a problem. Error A02.

What could be the problem ?

edit: I've also created a new account using my phone and upon loading into the app it gives the same error.

    • Im getting same error even if i try to select my reward for 7th visit. On 2 android phones

    • Interesting, i'm getting the same error on my android phone.. i hope they didn't catch onto something!

    • +1

I cant even log in and I only have 1 device I use. Maybe they have maintenance right now.

      • +2

        working ok now

    • I got the same error on my phone lastnight. Actually I have two Android's phones and non-rooted one is ok but rooted one has the error.

    • +1

UPDATE: not sure why but it's working now.

      May have been maintenance

  • +3

I will be doing joyride the next few hours. Message me where you would like to fly to.

  • Went to a store thats run out of 91, but theyre not discounting 98. I thought it would have been standard for them to do this.

    • I've seen that happen at my local too. Often we were getting the Vic stores dropping? Maybe it's a state thing?

    • -5

What a rip off. Maybe report them to the ACCC?

      https://www.accc.gov.au/regulated-infrastructure/fuel/acccs-…

Which store was this so we can keep an eye on it.

      • +1

What a rip off. Maybe report them to the ACCC?

For running out of petrol ?

        • +5

You forgot to bold some words randomly. But I agree!

          • @navjay:

            You forgot to bold

            No I didn't.

            • @jv:

              You forgot to bold

              No I didn't

              No I didn't FTFY

      • Honestly I would sue them in the high court.

        • +1

It's the constitution. It's MABO. It's justice. It's the law. It's the vibe. I rest my case.

  • Hi there @master131, when can we see downloadable DMG for iOS 14.7 on this page? https://github.com/haikieu/xcode-developer-disk-image-all-pl…. Thanks

    • 14.6 DMG is enough. No issues am running 14.7.1

      • Thanks @georgev.

  • +1

Looking at the ACCC, the price hasn't moved since its peak at the end of June. This fuel cycle went to it's minimum on June 17th and it hasn't come back down almost 7 weeks later.

What gives? It went up very sharply but refuses to come back down again. Total BS IMO.

    • +3

I wonder if it is due to lower demand due to less people going out, and less people buying from the shop at the service station, so they need to set prices high to make a profit?

      • Has anyone seen this behaviour in the past? Don't they make a profit anyways, all the time? The servos do not get paid based on how much they sell for, but rather, a flat rater on the volume of fuel sold (happy to be corrected).

        • +1

Correct. I spoke to 7-eleven customer service who confirmed that head office sets prices for each store. They make about 1c per litre of fuel sold and rely on the actual products in store to make money.

          • @Ten: 1c/L?? I really thought they made much more

            • +3

@I Smell Pennies: Stores accrue 4c per litre sold from their head office, not 1c per litre.

          • @Ten: If they only make 1c per litre, how come prices differ so much between 7-11 servos?
Surely that is not explained by costs of transporting to that servo as neighbouring suburbs can be 10c apart

        • You only considered individual store, but the whole industry has got the impact. Hence, wholesale price is set high now. It is around 140c/l for ULP today.

      • Thinking about this from an economical standpoint, doesn't lower demand then create lower prices?

It would appear that demand is quite high or there is something else going on behind the scenes that we aren't privy to.

        • +1

Sure but cartels like OPEC affect pricing. Also currency fluctuations would be another factor. Aussie dollar has weakened lately.

          • @Sweetnsour: Maybe Netflix can use them for the next (cartel) show!

  • Has anyone raised a claim for un-scanned barcode where the fuel lock was done interstate using a helicopter ride? The clerk said the discount was applied when I scanned the barcode, but my card was charged full price.
