Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

This is my first attempt with Nox

    • hmmm, i got my account suspended because of locking the 0.001c deal interstately last time . does anyone get trouble using mock location ?

      • did you loose your money you had in your account when they suspended your account? or was it only temporary like a penalty box

        • took them a while to send my remaining balance in a gift card.

old account closed for good. now being cautious and paranoid lol

        • good to know, thanks. i keep getting warning when the mock locations fails and the 7eleven app detects it.

Lucky I was just driving past there ;) Locked in, thanks Jason and hmmz.

      • +1

Doesn't work for me. Somehow the cheapest I got is 153c/L and it's in Cranbourne west

        • +2

          Confirmed working for me.

I locked the price, filled up, came home and locked it again lol. Thanks hmmz!

        • Try Pound Rd, Hampton Park, 3976

It's called reading the threads. So many comments from people explaining exactly what to do.

    • Install Nox (android emulator)
      Spoof your location
      Bobs your uncle

I came here just to neg you.

    • +1

      That's lazy man

  • Is fuel lock not working for anyone else? I'm using Nox and filled up twice with the cheap petrol tonight but want to lock another time to use in a weeks time before expiry. It gets to the point where it lets me select amount of litres but goes back to main page without locking in the fuel price.

    • Can only lock in twice per 24hr period from memory.

      • Limited to each Android id

    • Log into ur account on another PC

      • +2

Can also be done by running Nox multi instance manager, then just add emulator. Acts as a new Android device, even on same computer.

        • Thanks that did the trick.

  • U95 139.9, recon it'll go any lower?

    U98 134.5 @ Hampton Park VIC.

    • Crap just locked in u91 at 129.9

    • +1

      152.5 now

  • +3

Damn missed the good deals! My car runs so much better on 98, fingers crossed for another great price soon.

    • Yeah it's suppose to clean your engine. Gives you a 10% performance boost. So normally not worth it, however when it's only 4c more…

      • -2

Your car has to actually be tuned for 98 to get some benefit for it. Most likely saying minimum 95 would indicate the car has a tune for 98. You aren't going to see any benefit over 91 in your 02 Camry, it'll just run rich.

        • -1

The engine can perform better with 98. I can tell especially when going up a hill when I got a tank full of 98.

But I stopped using 98 now due to the ridiculous prices recently.

        • -4

          @sintro:

If your car is tuned for 95/98 that is fine. If you are putting in 95/91 for a car that needs 98 it may knock, which is not good. Everyone should be looking at their cars manual to see what type of fuel you need, some may accept multiple types, others may be happy with 91. If your car uses 91 and you use 98, youll get carbon build up which can block injectors and it'll run rich, you'll get black marks near your exhaust on your car. If your car requires 95/98 (most European engines) and you use 91, as I said, your car may knock, which is bad.

BP saying 98 cleaning your engine and the name premium is just marketing trying to make you buy more expensive fuel. Everyone should be using the octane rating recommended by the manufacturer, as that is what your engine is tuned for.

        • +8

@Timothy-1: Hi Timothy, are you stating facts or opinions? Running 98 can not harm any petrol car and certainly will not cause carbon build up. Where did you get this info from? Running 98 fuel may not give a power/performance boost to cars designed to run 91, but it has cleaning additives that will keep the engine and fuel line cleaner than running standard 91.

  • +1

My car is designed to be run on 91, but definitely seems to have more pick up and run smoother with the rare tank of 98. I will always grab it if its only a few cents difference, or one of those awesome WA deals where it's cheaper than everything else.

    • +1

Funny, I tried it with mine, I ended up with less km per tank

  • +14

I had a request for an option to hide the station names to fit the site in a mobile widget, so you can use the following link:
    https://projectzerothree.info/prices.php?noname=1

The link is also now visible on the main page. I'll also look into creating a RSS feed.

Appreciate your development efforts! Amazing work.

master131 you are a scholar and gentleman (person)

God help us if you are ever hit by a stale low flying donut.

    • +1

The RSS feed would be really helpful.
I was previously using visualping to get updates twice a day but with Cloudflare in front I can't do that anymore :(

    • now I'm trying to figure out how the hell to get the site onto a mobile widget…..
doesn't seem to be any out of the box way of doing this on Android and the apps i've tried are shit.

Btw, you'd be better off using Javascript to hide the column instead of doing it server side with url params. might give you an ever so slight reduction in server load..

should be easy enough to implement.

  • +4

Hampton park 98 is cheap again 134.5

  • +3

    U98 134.5 @ Hampton Park VIC (again)

    • How do you find out so quick? Whats your strategy :)

      • +2

        I looked at the script.

        • Back up to 152.7 now :(

Damn, trying to lock and for the first time my phone is giving me endless trouble. I am starting fake GSP, stopping, swiping shut, waiting about 10 seconds then opening 7-eleven but it still says mock location error. This method always used to work?

    • What app is using mock locations in settings?

      • Fake GPS. But I got it to work eventually. Was very fiddly though, don't normally have any issues.

        • Use no root mode and wait dialog
No need to even swipe fakegps close now

        • [@cwongtech](/comm
66661/redir): can your explain this further please?

        • @cwongtech:

How do you get to the option as per your screenshot?

        • @JB1:
Fakegps free, top right corne, Press the three dots, app settings.

        • +1

          @cwongtech:

Thanks, first thing I did was click on the settings but couldn't find it.

Then I realised I was using a different app also called fake GPS! Lol..

          Many thanks!

        • @cwongtech:
Is this the one you are using?

        • @Joe888:
          Yes

        • how did you get it working if you don't mind sharing?

After uninstalling fake gps. I keep getting "We couldn't find your current location. Please try again later." error message. If i leave it installed, 711 app detects mock location.

    • -1

After i uninstall the fake gps i go to dev settings and turn off mock location then open maps to check location is still in the fake location THEN i install the 7-11 app. works 9/10 times

    • -1

I'm getting "we couldn't find your location, please try again later".

This is after managing to maintain the fake location after I've uninstalled the spoofer.

I used to be able to keep the fake location after uninstalling fake GPS/mockation, but now only 1 app can do it.

Does anyone have a work around?

  • Hey guys, I'm getting the error code lima when I'm trying to put money on my account. Anyone know whats the fix? Thanks.

    • You can either use a different card, or buy a 7/11 gift card instore

      • Thanks for your response. Does that mean my card is blocked by them?

        • +2

          No

It works agsin after a few days

    • +1

I get Lima when I try topping up with NOX, but it works when I top up with my phone app then lock in with NOX.

      • This is what I have to do.

        • +2

I just top up once and pay with card instead of the app. 7 Eleven always holds my initial log in I suppose, but don't have issues with it ever.

        • @jazattack:
I pay with the app to keep the credits from "expiring"
I normally top up immediately after paying and I never get the lima error then

        • @Trojan:

          Expiring?

I'm new to the all but can't imagine that my money unloaded onto the card would disappear

        • +3

          @thorpef1:
          T&C's 5

24 months after issue or last use

        • @sween64:

          Cheers for calling that out

        • +2

          @thorpef1:

          As per what sween64 said.
You dont have to do it every time you fill up but do it every few months.
It would be a shame to save a few dollars every fill up only to lose $100 after 24 months.

        • +2

@Trojan: I suppose you could just buy a $1 coffee occasionally to keep your credit alive

        • +1

          @sween64:
          These are the T&C: https://www.7eleven.com.au/fuel-app-terms-and-conditions

There is nothing in the App's T&C about your money expiring in the app. Can you provide a link to what you saw?

        • @shiznit: BLASPHEMY as an ozbargainer you should be getting free coffees and only pay for what you HAVE to pay for. Now hand'em over.

        • @syba: Here. It's not in the T&C's of the app, it's the T&C's of the gift card. Point 5 "Expiry Date"

        • @sween64: OK. So only applicable if you top up your account with a gift card. If you use a credit card (like the majority of people probably do), then it isn't an issue - your money won't expire. FYI, from 31 March 2018, in NSW all gift cards must have an expiry of at least 3 years (few exclusions, but doesn't apply here). So for NSW at least, this is incorrect.

        • @syba:

From my understanding, that 24 month Expiry is in the 7-11 Card Terms, it is not the Gift card T&C.

The 7-11 Card can store $ credit and is attached to the APP when you log in.

When you top up the App for the fuel lock with a Credit Card or a 7-11 Gift Card, you are transferring money from the source into the 7-11 Card

        • @syba: Your account is a gift card. It's applicable to you.

        • +4

          @sween64:

you're not wrong - but can you categorically guarantee that 7-eleven aren't a bunch of morons that will treat your account as if it's some special-non-gift-card use case and expire your credit regardless…

the law would be on your side - but it's not worth the hassle, especially when we're all doing some slightly shady, at worst morally questionable shit. better be safe than sorry and cycle your credits every few months.

        • +1

@nardz: I cycle my credit as soon as I fill up. Why bother leaving credit sitting in an account when it could be locked at any moment? Topping up isn't a hassle anyway.

        • +1

@Levathian: You can use AmEx/ApplePay in-store but can't use them to top up the app. Both of those payment methods give me advantages over MasterCard.

        • @Levathian:

i've been doing that lately - but i used to leave the credit in the app for around a year or so.

        • +2

          @sween64:
You can however pay for a 7/11 gift card using amex in store… :)

  • There's nothing wrong with setting up 2 accounts, right?
Main account already locked 91 at 130
Made new account to lock in 98 at 134 last Friday (didn't bother to reset voucher, thought 2 accounts would be convenient)
This Tuesday I couldn't log into either account, "account error" and "foxtrot error".
Called up 7-11 Customer Service, they stated that my account was "locked" and would get back to me in a day to find out why.
Now I'm waiting on their response.
