Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

U98 at 133.9 again at Mulgrave VIC

    • Good one!!

      • Thanks mate. Missed it last night but locked in the price on my two accounts now.

Has anyone jailbroken their ios 11-11.3.1 devices yet? What location spoofer tweak are you using especailly for newly released electra1131?

    • I know this doesn't answer your question but I use LocationFaker(8,9,10) on iOS 10.1.1. If you haven't purchased it on a compatible device then there are ways to allow purchases it may still work on iOS 11. If not contact the developer.

    • Just jailbroken my device on iOS 11.3.1. Haven't found a working location spoofing tweak yet.

    • +1

Just tested GPSCheat works for iOS 11.3.1

      • -2

BigBoss repo says not compatible ATM, however available to install through other repo. I do not want to risk my jailbreak into issue like bootloop etc. like last the time with iOS 11.1.2 which btw I lost the jailbreak as well.

        • You could try Fake GPS PRO, but it's a paid tweak (80CNY).
          It is confirmed compatible here.

        • -2

Any neggers care to elaborate or contribute?

        • @No ONE: LocationFaker(8,9,10,11) which I use was updated on 11July. Worth trying out.

  • +5

Seems that U98 has dropped again, Mulgrave / Waverley Gardens. $1.339.

Lock in before it bounces back up.

  • Anyone have any experience in using E10 over U91?

    • Not worth it I've read. It can mess up your car.

    • +9

Only use it to fill up a rental before returning it. Otherwise stay well away.

      • Haha, advice taken!

    • Been using it for 6 years on a new car. No issues. Our car says E10 compatible

    • Its rubbish

      Bad for your car
      Bad fuel economy

      No real savings

      • Well written article. Goes to show the lack of transparency. Perhaps using E10 less will mean servos will reduce the E10 price further to ensure they reach 6% NSW usage.

We do take for granted energy security. Remember the long queues at servos during iraq war. You won't be worrying about octane anymore. It'll be a case of getting whatever u can get

  • In case people still haven't logged in, Mulgrave / Waverley Gardens still has u98 for 133.9 .

Also, does anyone else notice that 7/11 gets worse fuel economy than other servos? Doing the same driving I get 13.2L/100kms vs 12.8L/100 from my local independent servo. Not sure what could/should be causing that

    • Bp performs best
      United next

      My personal experience

Mobil 711 u98 at 133.9 is pretty sweet deal.

Fuel locking u98 at these prices are most likely better and cheap than u91 from BP

    • .. holden ss?

      • Opposite, Jeep Wrangler.

  • +1

I just filled up with my first 133.9 lockin…..was about to lockin again, but it's no longer there. Back up to 151.9. Bugger.

Also, you're kidding yourself if you think you get noticeably different mileage between different servos 98 brands. They all come from the same refinery don't they? Just different additives added from each oil company.

I drive an FGX G6ET, which Ford recommend 98 for. I drive 900km every week, so I know my car very well. There's bugger all difference between BP, V Power, Mobil etc….

    • +4

Yeah, just pure brand-washed delusional thinking that retailers rely on to make profits.

    • +2

      What's your economy like?

      • +2

        Budget deficit.
        Massive overspending.
        GDP is low.
        Jobs and growth!

        • +1

Everyone should avoid driving FGX Falcons in that case…

    • I don't know what happens. My local is just an independent, which is actually super busy (it's one of the last servos before heading into the "country"). I only ever fill up either at this one or 3-4 different 7/11s and almost exclusively with U98.

Could have been a coincidence though that my local gave me better mileage. I'll need to suss it out again when their cycle is low

  • +11

    Hampton Park's got U98 for 134.5

    • Back up to 152.5

      • next best is 144.7 Hassall Grove if you need it urgently

        • +2

Yeh saw that in the tracker.
Im in no rush so will keep an eye out

  • +2

NSW average has gone up. Lock in U91 for 127.9 now before it's too late.

  • +3

    U91 127.7 11-Seven Revesby South

  • U91 127.9 Pimpama

Is it worth topping up and locking into my 2nd account for that price? My main is already locked onto 131.4… is a $1.60 saving worth the hassle?

    • +1

This is OzBargain mate. Yes….yes it is.

      • is it possible to transfer credit from one account to another?

        • No.

If anyone uses diesel, its 1.21 at Seven Hills NSW currently

    • Thx Trojan just locked in, insanely cheap price for diesel.

    • So good! thanks!

    • 👍🏼

    • Won't lock

      • Try another phone or NOX on PC.

  • -5

whats the most reliable locking the price these days in android phone?
im using latest app version + FakeGPS Free but has been getting issue locking lately.
I kept hearing about NOX. Is this more reliable way to lock price in?

    • +3

Nox requires a computer/laptop to use.. So basically nox will not work on your phone. But the short answer to your question re reliability is Yes.

  • +1

U91 today is better at my local woolies.
    Bowser price is 134.7.

    134.7 less 4c
    Less 5% via egift
    Effective end price of 124.17.

    Vs 7/11 best lock of 127.9 u91

    • +1

126.9 at Pimpama now. Closes the gap a little.

    • bit of effort required for woolies

      • +1

        opportunities for the prepared.
suggestion to have egift woolies ready for when deals pop up.
(i keep $50+ in the money app, logs it up and refreshes quiet easy)

        • Amateur.
          I raise you $200.

        • @cwongtech:
          lol
i buy $200 values when I reach under $50 or so.
*i don't need to win this battle of yours ;)

    • this is only valid to those near cheap woolies and also spending enough to earn 4c off

      • you are correct.
        helpful to some.

    • Unfortunately Woolies have this thing where they don't like selling 98 at most their own branches (the Caltex-owned ones that don't take e-Gift cards do though) :( Closest 98 to me is 10 minutes away vs 7/11 being pretty close.

      • very true
        u91 for me
        u98 too pricey every week
i use it once every 4 tanks or so…
or when i can lock her in at u91 prices on 7/11

plzplz Mulgrave, Waverley Gardens drop again soon

        • Unfortunately my car is 95 min (so I might as well pay the extra 4-6c from there to get 98).

Waverley Gardens is the real MVP.

  • Anyone having luck locking in after this latest google play services update?

    • Was trying last night, the 7-11 app wasn't changing positions or detecting a spoof.

      • Yup same here for me…

        • same here, nox wont work either

    • +1

Yep. Looks like it's NOX for now.

      • +1

installed NOX. got it right up to entering ccv, then 711 throws error code lima. might have to try again later today.

        • +5

Do the credit card part on your phone, then log into NOX 711 to lock prices.

        • +1

          @IceCreamBandit: thanks very much mate!

    • +4

      Yes, I couldn't lock in.
      Plan A:
Follow this, it does work, my locking is now working once more, however your google pay cards will be wiped out, i.e. the ones you added for contactless transactions via your Google Pay, you will need to re-add them.
      http://incorporateapps.com/fake_gps_free_faq.html
"No-root mode" and "Wait Dialog No-root mode" stopped working ("Google play services" updated 12 July 2018)?
A recent update, July 2018, of the hidden service called Google play services, which is a separate app and not the same as the Google Play Store (the Android equivalent to the AppStore), is causing issues with these modes. So far the best method is to uninstall updates.

      Pretty much you need to:
      1) Go Device Admin Apps (Go Settings in your phone and search it), Special App Access>Device Admin Apps, disable Find my Device and Google Pay.

      2) Go to FakeGps>Three Dots (setting)> Google Play Services Version, screenshot for your records, and take note of the numbers immediately after the open brackets.
So for example, mine said 12.8.72(040408-202717283)

      3) Now go to Apps (as you normally would if you wanted to clear the cache of an App)
      Settings> Apps & Notifications>App Info>Google Play Services
Three dots (top right corner), UNINSTALL UPDATES

      4) Go to the link in the FAQ which takes you to apkmirror for older Google Play Services APKS (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-service…)
You need to find the one that matches that number (for mine it was 12.6.85 (040408-197041431) May 19, 2018)

      5) Install and done, your fakegps will now work.

      6) If you are using Google Pay, Google Pay Cards (They should be saved with your Google account already, just need to shove in CVCs after selecting them.

      Plan B: NOX.

      • Thanks, that worked!

      • Plan A doesn't seem to work….

        • Ok, it did work after multiple attempts.

The 7-eleven app was giving an error saying that it couldn't find my location, but I pressed the "Find local price" button multiple times till it worked…

  • +24

Mulgrave VIC 98# 133.9c just locked!

    • Good timing, as U91 prices are on the rise. Locked in 116.9 last night, so that was a win of sorts.

      • Well done! Where was 116.9?

        • I suspect that was a typo and meant to be 126.9

        • @sween64: Oops, yes 126.9

      • Ugh, 126.9 and it's actually a cent cheaper now lol. Thats what you get for posting before coffee!

    • You legend! Locked in - cheers!

    • Boom! Locked-in. Thank you.

  • Mock Location on my phone(pixel 2XL) stopped working since last update, just tried NOX, got 'we couldn't find your current location' error….
could anyone please tell me a possible solution?

    • Did you update your location in nox? It takes a few seconds to update

      • yea I did, with the virtual location function. Or did i miss anything?

    • Try uninstalling Google play services as per ronknee's comment below (in Nox, not your phone).
      Worked for me.

    • +1

this happened to me (1st time nox user). i just restarted nox, and then it worked.

  • +10

Here's the workaround for the recent Google Play Services update. Not everyone has a computer with NOX on them all the time. FakeGPS Route FAQ was the source and I summarised it.

    1. Go to Settings. Search for "Device Admin Apps", and go into it. Uncheck "Find My Device" (you can check it again after you are done). Do the same for "Google Pay" if it is available and selected.
If there are other apps listed under Device admin apps, just disable them too temporarily.
Some older devices might not have device admin apps. If you don't find Device Admin Apps (try searching for "device" in Settings), just move to step 2 and if the uninstall from step 2 doesn't work, go back to step 1 and search for "Phone Administrators".

    2. Uninstall updates of Google Play Services. Go to Settings. Search for Google Play Services, and go into it. Press the menu (3 dots at top right) and choose "Uninstall updates". If you receive "Uninstall updates unsuccessful" then you did not remove all apps from Device Admin Apps (step 1).

    3. Google Play Services will go back to an older version. Go to step 4.

    4. Now you need to upgrade the Google Play Services to a fairly new, working version from May 2018, 12.6.85 and install it over the default one. You can download it from APK Mirror. Make sure you enable installation from unknown sources. Scan for viruses for your piece of mind.

    5. Use your Fake GPS and 7 Eleven apps like how you used to.

    6. (Optional but Recommended) Re-enable your Device Admin Apps from step 1.

    7. At some point, Google Play Services will auto-update and you will have to repeat this process from step 1.

    • 8) Re-add Google Pay Cards (They should be saved with your Google account already, just need to shove in CVCs after selecting them.

    • a solution that requires avoiding updates to Google play services isn't a good option IMO.

      • +4

Agreed, hence "workaround" until there's a permanent solution. It's also absolutely necessary if you're someone like me who:

        • Is at work.
        • Doesn't have access to a computer with NOX installed.
        • Wants to lock in U98 @ 133.9 c/L before the price changes.

Otherwise, is there a better option that you can suggest?

        • or you could be like me -

          all of the above, plus:

          • working in a location where one of the closest 8 7-eleven stores is Waverley Gardens :)

due to this I haven't needed to fake gps fuel lock and therefore no, i don't have a better option.

Not to take anything away from your suggested workaround, but it is good for people to be aware that it isn't an ideal situation and that there are consequences with rolling back google play services..

for example, if any apps you use rely on a newer version of google play services (unlikely for now as it is too recent an update, but will be an issue as time progresses), than that could cause issues in other apps.
