Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

    • Yay!

    • Thanks for that

    • Luv ya bro!!!

Looks like it's over…just fuelled and was going to re-lock it in

      • That was some unfortunate timing.

  • Can't lock in with Nox for Mac. Anyone knows how to update to the lastest Android versions. My Nox is on 1.2.1.0

    • seems us mac users are stuck with Nox as they dont have the updated version allowing you to have multi instances, and install an instance thats 'newer'

    • I just downloaded Nox on Mac and locked in, I did have to close and restart Nox after choosing a location before it would work though.

    • I just locked in. It came up with a message saying they are going to stop supporting the current version of android, I clicked ok then proceeded to lock in

    • It looks like it's just an client side (in the app) check. I suppose you could disable it. It was added in the new version (1.6.0) because 1.5.2 doesn't have the check.

Cheap u98 at Port Melbourne is back on again! $1.339

    • It's gone back up again

  • Anyone here kind enough to walk me through using nox for mac to lock in? I have to update my jailbroken 9.3.3 cos the new app doesn't support <ios 10 anymore

    • +2
      1. Install the 7-Eleven application from the Google Play Store
      2. From the sidebar on the left of the NOX window, select the 2nd icon from the top (this is the GPS spoofer)
      3. Type in your desired location and click Geocode
      4. Press the OK button that appears when your cursor hovers over the white panel at the bottom
      5. Your location should now be spoofed, and now you can lock in at the 7-Eleven application

If you have difficulties topping up in NOX, you will have to top up on your phone.

    • +1

Download 7-11 app to the Nox emulator and sign in with the same account details as the app in your mobile phone. Set h location on Nox and lock the price. You should be able to access the voucher on the app in your mobile now.

I got the mock location error and a warning that they will lock my account on my S8. Is there anyway to bypass this, it worked yesterday when I locked in the price in Port Melbourne

  • Hi guys, can someone give the steps required to implements freights APK file?
I used to be able to lock in doing the old way but since July it's changed, would really appreciate it!

    • +5

What do you need help with? It's literally the same as the old way.

      1) uninstall original 7Eleven app
      2) install my APK
      3) Set a fake GPS location where you want the cheapest fuel to be
      4) lock-in the fuel price

      • Legend, thanks, feel so privileged to receive a reply from the man himself!
Ill give it a try and let you know!

      • +3

Feel like we need this stickied to the top or at the thread body and also the iOS method so people would stop asking.

        • What's the method for iOS? Please feel free to share link to that comment if it's already posted. I couldn't find.

      • So this method bypasses the update to Google Play services?

    • It might be the update to Google Play services. Is your phone rooted?

      • I'm pretty sure it is, because after it happened I followed the FAQ

        http://incorporateapps.com/fake_gps_free_faq.html

The 2nd post and it worked initially, now it doesn't

        • If you're rooted, make sure the no root method option is turned off

        • @shiznit:I don't use the fake GPS free app now because of the rubber banding issue I experienced on my phone. And I can't seem to find solution for it. So I used a different app to spoof my location.

        • @angelkulit025: I get similar issues with the fake GPS app. I simply reset the cache on Google maps and Waze and restart the phone and the issues goes away. Was annoying at first though

  • i've tried the 7/11 FAQ but can't seem to find any answer… hopefully OzB can help! I price locked diesel today, went to the store and it wouldn't scan - i emailed them and they immediately reimbursed which was great service… now the question is i have two cars and now want to lock U98 but it still shows the unredeemed diesel voucher - is there a way to remove the diesel fuel lock so i can Nox some fresh U98?

    • +1

Must use it, need minimum delivery or wait 7 days for it to elapse

    • Someone mentioned if you pay using using the money on the app to buy something in store, like a $1 coffee, then it reset the fuel lock? Haven't tried this though, maybe someone else can confirm?

      • It shouldn't reset the fuel lock though, they're different barcodes..
All you can do is fill 2L or whatever minimum delivery is, to force the fuel lock to be used

        • Well that's the problem from the start. The fuel locked voucher doesn't work so why fill up 2L and pay full price.

    • You might have to create a new account in your partner's name, if you can't wait for the diesel lock to expire.
Or you can email them, i'm sure customer service can get rid of your existing fuel lock if you explain the situation to them.

      • All you need is another mobile# (only temp) and a new email address to create an account.

711 helps with the former. Google/your own domain helps with the later.

    • just a follow up - i emailed them and they cancelled the original unredeemed voucher… shame they were 12 hrs too late for me to get the waverley gardens deal ;(

  • Cararra south QLD/Gold Coast (4211) has standard unleaded for $1.307 if anyone is looking.

    • Unleaded $1.299 Epping Vic is better

      • Cheers. Hopefully they'll stay down for the next 24hrs. I wonder if that's the Costco effect?

Off-topic…Wow Woolies is 124.7 out there!

        • Which location?

        • @virhlpool: epping, vic

    U98 $1.329 Waverley Gardens VIC…. Hurry up… lock it down !!!!

Thanks. You're even faster than the website!

Looks like the server was down all day, should be back soon.

    • Legend

  • Anyone getting the Velocity - too many requests error after just topping up $100 in a week? Seems like the limits get stricter each day.

    • i managed to top up via a different device without problem, maybe worth trying

    • I just used a different card. Being on ozbargain you surely must have 5+ accounts with cards :p

  • +13

Our favourite Waverly Gardens, VIC coming in @ 132.9 for U98.

    • Expired. Up to 151.9 now

  • Tried to do my first $ top up and getting an error in the app - "We are unable to accept card transactions for your account"

    • Have you already added a card to your account?

      • Yes I have. Some of the others on OzBargain are also expediting same error for some reason.

        • Same as me. I entered the wrong CCV, could that be it?

        • @Shpox: nope everything was correct

    • Use a 7-Eleven Gift Card. Free to purchase in-store, easy to apply to App.

      • Do you know if it's possible to buy a gift card with the fuel app wallet thing? I wanna transfer some funds to a second account

  • Anybody know if there is much bloatware/spyware associated with Nox?

  • E10 - 127.9 @ Parkwood QLD

      Already posted

  • what happends if you lock in say 30l and you pour 50l?

    • +5

30L gets charged at lock price. 20L at pump price

  • Does anyone have a working link to the last posted APK? Thanks

  • -2

I think my suspicions about 7/11 are correct. I just filled up at a Caltex and it was spot on VS what my dash was saying (7.3/100). 'll do more tests and comparisons with other family cars but I suspect you should add say 10% to whatever the 7/11 price is to get the 'real' price you are being charged.

Same time of day for fill ups, all on 2nd click, all empties to full and the discrepancy is there, through multiple 7/11 outlets too.

    • +6

You should take a measuring container to the servo you suspect are cheating customers and compare what the pump says to what you actually get.

    • Yeah, this is a really dumb way to check consistency. If you really care about testing this you'll fill up a jerry can to the same level at multiple outlets to compare, and see if the pump matches.
No one's going to care about this except you unless you do that…
If it's really 10% this should be pretty noticeable in a 10 or 20L jerry can as it'll be over 1 Liter off…

    • The dash in all my cars have always been optimistic.
Agree with the others that you need a jerry can to prove the pump is incorrect.

      • Will do when it's next empty.

    • +3

Bring measuring cylinder for accurate results.
      https://cdn-1.au.xmsymphony.com/700011f12c1c325ecd854e2b7cac…

      • Yes, measuring cylinders are ideal. I have used them in science practical tests to measure out accurate volumes.

    • +2

      all on 2nd click

oh, why didnt you say you were measuring using such scientific accuracy…

      • -3

It's not a "scientific test" but it IS interesting. :/

        • +7

you're claiming 7-11 pumps are delivery ~90% of their rated delivery volume…

          Its either
          a) one of the largest consumer rip offs in Australia, and you're the only one thats noticed; or
          b) not interesting

5L jerry can and prove it, and you can make headlines on every news coverage and newspaper next week ;)

        • -4

@SBOB: muh it's just an observation. They do offer cheap fuel for a reason :)

        • @Levathian: stop pls

        • -3

@Mungulz: why? I'm entitled to an opinion, and mine is that 7/11 offer cheap fuel but there is a catch. And that catch is A. The pumps might be checked less often and B. Lower quality fuel.

I'd still use the fuel lock when prices are high though… :P

        • +5

          @Levathian:

If you strongly believe this then why stop there and not report it to NMI?

Q9. How can I report an inaccurate petrol pump to NMI?
You can lodge a complaint via the following options:
          • complete our online form
          • call our hotline on 1300 686 664
          • email us [email protected]

          Source

  • All the links to the modified APK seem to be down, is there a mirror for this file?

      • Looks like they work, i'll give it a go now. Cheers!

      • -2

@master131: Do iOS and Android have different versions? Can you share which one is for iOS? Thanks.

        • Can someone shed some light on this please? Neg won't help.

        • @virhlpool:
Of course they do have different versions. It's like asking if the Vindows version of an application can be used for Mac OS.
iOS is impossible unless you jailbreak.

        • -5

@cwongtech: Thanks. How to jailbreak and then where to download iOS app from?

        • +2

          @virhlpool:
Or you can use Nox android simulator (FREE) in your computer and not tamper with your phone's security over $10 saving every week..

        • @virhlpool: This is a good place to start to answer your JB questions. If you can jailbreak then you need to download a location faking tweak.

        • @sween64:

          Thanks. It helps.

    Guys,

I would like pay using Amex card. How would I go on with that.

Ive added a MC card, found the cheaper price and then proceeded to lock in the price however the app is suggesting that it will charge my MC card for the outstanding amount.

    • +3

Lock in the price. Fuel up, then when you go up to the counter to pay, just tell the guy you want to pay using your Amex card. The credit loaded in the app from your MC card will stay within the app.

      • Thanks mate. So I'm assuming $60(avg fill amount) will sit in the account.

        • +1

          Yep.
I always leave the deposit in the account.
7/11 facebook team confirmed it doesn't expire.
Only the gift cards you buy in-store (AND don't redeem it/transfer into your 7/11 account) will expire after 3 years.
