Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

I'll just msg/email a screenshot. Nah it only gets you the discounted rate, not the account's funds.

      • +3

The money in your account can only be used if a separate barcode to your fuel lock is shown. Tap on "my card" to show it.

        • Thanks - was wondering how that worked. I've never paid for it using account funds - but was wondering why people shared their vouchers thinking it would access your funds too!

    • +2

Update: Voucher sent to a member :)

  • +1

Well looks like its going up so I locked in which me luck https://www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au/fuelwatch/pages/home.jspx

  • Anyone having issues logging in to the app this morning? It's not working on my end..

  • Anyone noticed a major LPG price drop recently? Any insight for this and how long would this last?

  • I'm trying to get an E10 voucher from Truganina, Vic (cheapest on the projectzerothree site), but keep getting a message about "fuel type selected is not available near your current location"

Is this just a coincidence or some sort of new location spoofing prevention?

    • Check your location.
For some reason, one of my clones of 7/11 app couldn't detect the proper GPS spoofed location.. keeps getting stuck a few suburbs away.
Ended up reinstalling the clone app and it was fine.

      • How do you check your location? I'm using nox and the location seems to be correct.

        • Oh I use my phone to do it.
Just go into 7/11 without click lock my fuel, and view your position in the map, if it doesn't match up with what you tried to spoof GPS to, then try reinstall the app

          • @cwongtech: GPS location is correct according to the "store finder" in the app.

            • @salmon123: Seems to be an install issue. Started working once I fired up a clean nox.

    • Why not just lock in u91, which is cheaper than E10 at the moment?

      • +1

That must be a recent update … but I can't trust my wife to find the U91 pump.

  • Is there a new way to get your spoofed location working under iOS with the 7-Eleven app?

I'm using a jailbroken iphone with Liberty and GPSCheat apps, but the 7-Eleven app is still showing my real location, but the GPS spoofing works when I open google maps.

I'm using the latest version of the 7-Eleven app (1.6.0.1673) Any pointers?

  • Getting 139.7 for E95 @ Bassendean instead of 127.5 @ Caversham
Ironically http://bit.do/8-twelve by Nuggets is accurate

  • +1

    Port Melbourne - Vic
    U95
    137.9

Around this area, U91 is 136.9, 95 seems a good deal.

Master's script is down, no prices showing?

    • +1

I have sent him a PM.

    • +7

At work, won't be able to do much until I get home. Sorry!

      • +2

What? I thought maintaining that script was your full time job? :P
Thanks for all the work you've put into helping the OB community save money in petrol.

        • +21

Haha, I've quickly sneaked in a temporary fix though the results may be sub-optimal (ie. there may be a petrol station with a better price).

  • Hi Guys,

It won't let me lock, it jumps back to the main screen when I try to lock in the amount - is there any way around this?
I think it's because I kept clicking Find My Best Local Price multiple times while GPS spoofing around

  • +7

Diesel just dropped to 127.9 - only about 2c above terminal gate prices!

    • It's gone up to 143.9 now

      • +2

Emu plains still has it at that price. Crazy, 20cents cheaper than my local.

        • +1

So it does, I was looking at the other Emu Plains store.

      • +1

I think you're looking at the wrong thread.

        • It was in relation to this

For those doing a bit of driving around the country today

      • Do you mean majority of country side isn't serviced by 7/11?

        • +1

I was referring to geographically as opposed to population.

    • Thanks. Looks like I'm going for a drive to WA after dinner tonight.

    • Bugger, think I missed it, as the app is now scanning at 141.9 for me (for U98 at Waverley Gardens VIC).

      • +1

Blessing in disguise. Lock in minto U98 instead at 123.9

    • Yes

      • @swimmingtoad is it the same way as with previous android versions ?

  • +18

    U98 123.9 @ Minto NSW!

    • +1

Thanks so much! Just tried to lock in Waverley Gardens but it had changed and glad it did!

    • Thanx mate! U98 cheaper than U95! Grabbed it! :-)

  • Is there a maximum number of accounts you can have tied to one card? I'm trying to add money to a 3rd account and it won't let me add my card. I get Juliet error. Grr.

    • +1

Buy gift card at 7/11 with your target card.
Charge new account with gift card :)

      No associations anymmore!

    • You can only lock twice from the same IP address in 24 hours.

      • I haven't locked in at all in the last few days. I was adding funds.

      • +3

Incorrect. Twice from the same device.

  • i'm not sure if this has been asked,

how do you withdraw the money you've deposited in there?

at the moment i have 80$ in the account but i do have a locked voucher.

does withdraw appear when there is no lock? i won't be able to withdraw with a locked?

    • +1

You cant withdraw money. Use this money when you fill in petrol if you want to utilise that money

      • +1

Yep as above, tell the attendent you want to pay via app. I believe you can use these $$ for in-store purchases aswell.

    • Tap on the "my card" button to reveal your account barcode to scan when paying.

    • +1

I don't bother, I deposit to the max of $150, takes a few days as you can only deposit a certain amount at a time, but once its there than you have the maximum capacity to lock in fuel when its cheap as above. Then just pay with credit card or cash at the servo to keep your $150 balance. Helps to take a few jerry cans with you and then you are set for the next couple of weeks.

  • +6

In regards to my little website that I made to lock in automatically, I think I need some testers before I release it to you all.

Anyway, if you're interested at all shoot me a message and you can see how it goes.

@zooter; I'll release the code within a week so you all can play around with it however you like, I've had my share of fun with it and I think it's pretty much finished. Although, I have noticed a bug or 2 yesterday while mucking about with it a bit more.. If you have an idea how to make it more secure let me know.

    • +1

Happy to help test if needed. Do this stuff for a living

    • Can't wait to see the code, I always wanted to work on projects like this so there'll be a lot to learn from it.

    • +1

      Happy to be a tester!

      • +1

Love your work, I can be a tester :)

    • +1

      I am interested

    • +1

If this is good to go with a mac computer and android phone , i'm happy to be a tester. definitely not a tech genius, more just the average user.

      • That's the beauty of it, dead simple to use. You login with your browser, click "lock in price", wait about 30-60 seconds, and it's saved. No need for any other programs/apps

        • I'm happy to test and report.
          Please pm

    • This is a bad idea, the program could spread out of this small thread and then 7-11 have more incentive to shut it down.

Do not release the app !!!

      • Ditto, everything's fine as it is.

      • +3

Freighter has obviously put a lot of effort into this website, and I'm all for making fuel locks more accessible.

But we do need to try to stay off 7 elevens radar. The occasional front page deal is bad enough. After the website is developed, perhaps we could share the link by PM, rather than posting it for all to see.

        • +4

What makes you think this thread is not under 7/11's radar? It could very well be there even before the 0.001c locks happened.

Your PM link idea won't help as users can just share the link or post it online any way they want.

The current methods to cheat the fuel lock is already fine and convenient enough. IMO, 7/11 is being lenient on how this matter is treated but I say don't push it to the limit.

      • +3

Yeh I agree this web based fuel locker. Could be the straw that finally breaks the camels back.

    • +1

Do you guys remember the time when Tony Stark thought building Ultron was his greatest idea for peace-keeping program? Well, this is the moment :(

      • -1

        How so?

        • +1

Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man got tired with all the fights with extra-terrestrial beings (all the effort we have to do to run Nox, search for best fuel price, etc) so he builds Ultron, an AI program that was created for the betterment of mankind and to protect earth from extra-terrestrial threat (Freighter's idea to create a website to automatically lock-in the best fuel price).

To cut the story short, once Ultron had developed his self-awareness and could access to all of Iron Man's technology, he realised that mankind is actually the greatest threat to Earth because we're busy killing each other and destroying the environment. As a result, his motivation now is to eliminate all mankind and replace them with machines.

To quote TS Elliot- “Most of the evil in this world is done by people with good intentions.”

          • -1

@Gorodemon: So the app is going to be self-aware, shoot lasers and cause a genocide?

            • +4

@ronnknee: That's one possiblity, but a web app may be the final straw on blatant price lock cheating.
