Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

Sigh. Locked my 91 at 1.32. Then changed to friend account to help her lock 98. Only to realise that they are the same price. Quickly use my own 91 voucher. But cannot lock anymore using my account due to the same Android ID twice in 24hours restriction. Sigh.

    • If you used nox, just use add another android emulator

      • I am using the mod apk. I should start looking into how to use nox.

        • +3

          Appcloner + appcloner premium.

The premium feature lets you assign different android IDs, under privacy menu

  • Thank god I'm not seeing hentai phone game ads after updating. Praise.

    • +11

Yeah got that dodgy malware crap once. Having said that, the ads would have been based off your search history πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

    • +2

I don't get hentai ads on my NoX but I got heaps of ads for Grindr and some invites from "Gay for Pay" group. Strange - maybe my apk version is different from yours?

  • Getting number of requests allowed has been exceeded when I try to top up and lock. Last top up was Friday 3rd May and used voucher same day. Today is way passed 24 hours. What might be the problem?

    • +2

Your account could be under investigation..
I just called 7-11 and they advised me of that for my account.

      • You told them you travel a lot for work, obviously?

      • +3

        They questioned the multiple accounts.
        3 under my name:
1st was 2 year old account which was never used for fuel
2nd was my primary account (under investigation)
3rd was used for the missus

        They were happy with that.

    • have u tried clearing data on the app and signing in again?

      • Yes. Still same error

        • Or a different device?

    • Turns out you I could not top up a full amount but only $20 on the same credit card due to last top up in a short period of time. I was told to wait on the 8th May to allow another full top up. This applies to any other email accounts that may be linked to the same card.

      • So you were trying to add credit to the account using a credit card?

        • In order to lock in you have to have enough credit for the litres of fuel required. I wasn't aware of this sort of top up limitation.

  • Went to fill up using a voucher on U98-132.3 Mulgrave VIC. The clerk kept trying to scan it and it was making error noises and he said it kept saying item not found. Bit annoying but ended up paying the normal price.

    Anyone experience this?

    • +8

You can claim the discount back _ In the app under account go to missed discount and upload your receipt. They will return the discount amount.

    • +5

I get this all the time, make them type in the number on the voucher.

    • Worked fine for me saved me $15 for 57L

  • +17

I think the project site has stopped updating. If it has its because in the 1.7.1 app update they changed the keys and how the authorization is made when you make a request. I messaged master131 about it so hopefully it gets resolved soon, otherwise I'll (try) and help him tonight depending on time and stuff

    • Great! Thanks! Locked in :)

    • +1

      Back up to 152.2 now?

      • +5

Yep. looks like script is working again. Clayton 137.4 (around the corner from waverley Gardens, isn't too bad too if you missed this)

    • Saved $27. Thank you!

What's the easiest fake GPS to use on android?
Sorry, I'm not tech savvy and struggling to figure out ways to lock in since freighters site went

    • Same, since the website stopped working have been unsuccessful with using Apk/Nos which were suggested on previous pages. I have iPhone&mac if that helps with suggesting software

    • I used to use FGL Pro for location mocking on Android (for certain games :p), but don't know if it works for this.
Also location faking on Android depends on phone, software etc…

    • +2

      Mocklation works for me

      • +1 for MockLocaton, I used to use Fake GPS then switched and haven't looked back.

        • -1

          works for iPhone?

          • +1

@barozgain: What part of 'on adroid' would make you think the responses apply to iOS?

    • Fake GPS

    • Thank you to the two people who inboxed me and showed me how to use it :)

  • I'm using Freighters python script locally on my phone, and I'm getting an error on login. Not much showing on the console, but I think it might be erroring on a 302 redirect? Anyone else?

Edit: Just put two and two together, authorisation issue on project site would be here too

    • How have you installed it on your phone?

      • +1

I run it on a Python scripting engine for Android. Qpython (now Qpython3 thanks to Freighter updating to Python3) is the one I picked

  • +2

Anyone else getting "An unknown error occurred. Please try again later" while tring to login using freighter's script on windows?

  • Anyone else still waiting for their gift card's from the account bans?

    • Yep been waiting since April

      • Got tired of waiting and emailed them a few times but no response. Might have to call them up.

  • +1

    Saved $21.90 last night. Winning!

  • Will it be the death of ur little apps in the future?

    https://www.androidauthority.com/android-development-forced-…

    • +2

not really, because as soon as there is a new update on the official app, freighter normally updates our own version for it to make it work.

    • Nox will be always unaffected

      • -2

How so? The 7-11 app self checks the version at start up and pop up msg to upgrade if it not tue lastest, then closes the app? Not sure how Nox can circumvent that?

        • +2

Because you can run the unmodified app within Nox.

    • +1

They already do force us to update, as old versions just take you to the play store.

      • That's right so nothing has changed. Move along peeps.

  • -1

Might be time to lock - just saw 1.38 at Seven 11, then 1.65 at Coles across the road! (And I know that's not best seven 11 price, but for illustrative purposes)

    • +1

So weird to see it written as Seven 11 lol. And yep, same for me 165 for e10 across my street at both 7-11 and Caltex.

      • +3

Lane Cove Coles is 192.9 for 98 !!!!

  • Question, was just in 7-11 using my fuel lock and the guy at the register was saying to take a screenshot and you can reuse it… he even took a photo of my voucher on his phone to use for himself! I did not think this was possible??????

    • +3

      One time only I think

      • Once it's used, it's registered in 7/11 as "used" and switches your phone back to "Find my lowest"
Don't think you can re-use a fuel lock..

There's someone in this thread that works for 7/11, can ask them to experiment? Haha

    • He took a photo to report you. haha

      • +1

It was a legitimate lock from the same store a week earlier….

  • Has anyone tried filling up two cars with the same lock? I've got enough litres locked in to fill up both cars, will they allow it?

    • +1

Yes, just don't put the thing back until you fill both cars(put one car on each side to make it easier to fill both)

      • Is there an actual sensor inside the pump handle that registers that?

        • +1

Not the handle but where you put it back in, there's a lever.

      • Did this. One car either side, same pump, same transaction and went fine. The guy serving said wow that's a nice one.

        Cheers.

      • Actually when I filled up my jerry cans previously I didn't put the nozzle back but because there was a bit of delay between pumping oil the counter on the pump reset 2 times. So there's that too to consider.

    • Depends who is behind the counter.

    • Yep

      • How do you do it? Do you have to use the same pump and make sure it doesn't reset or can you fuel them both separately and combine them with the voucher at the counter?

        • +2

          Same pump, same transaction.

        • Park either side of the pump and fill

    • Yep, did it last week with the 99.9 c/L voucher.

    • I've done that several times, no problems. I've never had any issues showing all kinds of discounts, including the the 99 cents.
I always go to the same large petrol station in the eastern suburbs (VIC), and I think they have more to do than complaining about the discount I got. They have never even mentioned "that's a good discount"; they just do their job, which is giving the price, scanning the code, and saying "thanks".
You can't put the nozzle back, I suppose. I just go with someone else and we quickly move the cars one after another.

      • +1

I would certainly hope you took someone else when you drove two cars

  • Okay… anybody here had issues before with contaminated fuel?

My car stopped working Friday afternoon. It turns on, but shakes and shudders. Had roadside assistance come out tonight, and the guy took one look and said based on what he sees and what he smells, I've got dirty fuel.

Filled up a week ago from my local 7/11.

Anyone with experience able to offer some advice please?

    • +10

      Name and shame the outlet!

      • +1

        7/11 North Elsternwick.
Been filling up there recently, and never had an issue until now.

Curious if anyone else recently filled up there and is now facing similar issues?

        • Wow I have filled there, but not in the last few weeks - more like about 6 weeks ago but no problems that I noticed.
I stop there all the time for coffees though.
Just checked and that particular 711 has got really shocking reviews. I will be avoiding it from now on.

    • +2

Call the 7-11 head-office hotline, they should be accountable if it's their fault.

    • What solution did the roadside guy come up with?

      • +1

Said I have to get it towed to a mechanic on Monday :(

        • Oh sorry to hear that. Was hoping it may have been something simple, like the 'ol stick some Metho in the tank of petrol. Good Luck.

  • +43

    Hola Amigos.

Quite a few of you seem to be using my script that lets you lock in with your web browser, thank you for that! It's nice to see it being used :o)
Just letting you know that I have updated it, with a couple of changes.

    • Ported the code to Python3. It's probably smarter to do it now, especially since Python2.7 is near end of life.

    • Updated the authorization generating function. This is the part that lets you make any request to the 7Eleven servers. (Thanks to master131 for letting me know which part of the app it's generated in so I didn't have to search for it!)

    • We've updated the Dockerfile so it now uses Python3-alpine, so it is considerably slimmed down now, using less than 100mb to run on your Docker (compared to the ~900mb file before).

    • Added a nifty feature I've wanted to add for a little bit now with manual searches. Now if you don't have a Google Maps API key you can still lock in with a manual postcode (before it quit while trying to start), it should just give you an error if no 7Eleven store is in the postcode you entered.

    • Fixed a bug that I found where if you refreshed to get rid of error messages it would error getting your locked in fuel price.

Many thanks to those that use it, and even more for the ones who help send in issues/pull requests and whatever else. I don't know if anything more needs to be done to it, but if you can think of something happy to take suggestions.

    • +2

Everyone REALLY appreciates your work, Freighter.
      Thank you!

    • I seem to be having trouble getting it running.

      PS I:\Study\Downloads\seven11\7Eleven-Python-master> python app.py
      File "app.py", line 2
7-Eleven Python implementation. This program allows you to lock in a fuel price from your computer.

Try the updated version. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/freyta/7Eleven-Python/mast… .
KiamSiap also seemed to have the same problem.

        • +1

Thank you. Unfortunately I have another issue now. It says "Running on http://0.0.0.0:5000/" and nothing loads, I have also tried 192.168.0.1:5000 as that is my default gateway and have the same issue.

          • @dmac: Thanks KiamSiap

            1) Using your PC you run the script on go to http://localhost:5000 and the app will run.

            2) Using another device navigate to http://192.168.X.X:5000 and you can lock in with that. Replace the X.X with your IP address >for the PC running the script. I.e. for me it would be 192.168.1.100 or whatever.

            • @dmac: Just like it says on the GitHub page under usage:

              Usage

Very simple to use, run the program with either of the following commands python3 app.py or python app.py. After you have started the program all you have to do is open your web browser and navigate to http://[your-local-ip-address]:5000 i.e. http://192.168.1.100:5000. Then simply login with your 7-Eleven email and password, and click either automatic lock in or manually enter a postcode that you want to lock in from.

              • @Freighter: I get the below error when I Lock in. Help please..

                Oops, error:
You need to lock in at least 10 litres

Edit: Is that because my account balance is 0.04? Do I get an option to choose litres on your screen if I've enough balance in my account? Just guessing please let me know.

                • @vjoz:

Edit: Is that because my account balance is 0.04? Do I get an option to choose litres on your screen if I've enough balance in my account? Just guessing please let me know.

You definitely need credit to create a fuel lock.. with any method available

                  • @cwongtech: Ok, wil load some $ and try again. Thanks

                    • @vjoz: Got it working, thanks @Freighter
