Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

Better lock in today. Same website says tomorrow petrol will jump to 148.7.
Cheapest tomorrow in WA will be 7-Eleven Southern River at 124.9

(Wish this existed in more states… NSW fuelcheck is OK, but Vic c'mon… where you at)

Still getting Foxtrot error on Nox. Anyone know how to fix? Do I need to update or something?

    • Who downvoted? Would very much appreciate some assistance here.. never run into this before.. PM me if you know how to fix this.

  • +1

I downloaded the apk from this link: https://files.catbox.moe/kg9a2t.apk

Uploaded to VirusTotal for a test scan. One engine detected a Trojan. See screenshot.

    https://ibb.co/4R1rTQ8

Could be a wrong detection, given many other engines didn't find anything.

    • Hopefully just a false positive…

  • 121.1 Ellenbrook WA
    Unleaded 91
Not the best but cheaper then e10

  • Is there some sort of limit to the number of devices logged into your account?

Not sure if it's an app issue or not, but I gave my family my login details so they can get cheap petrol too, and some of them it locks in on their phones straight away, but the others need to log out and log back in to get the fuel lock.

    • Why do they not just create their own account? It is simple and easy to do.

      • Because I'm the one who's tech-y enough to do the mock GPS stuff.

It's not a huge inconvenience, I only do it for my immediate family but yeah, just curious if there was some system in place or just the app messing up a bit.

        • Your first comments sounds like they lock in the fuel themselves? However, I do know that if you are 'sharing' fuel locks by either account sharing (which I don't recommend) or by sending a screen shot and then the family member using it, the lock will still show (even if the voucher has been used) until you go to 'show voucher' it will then update itself and then take you back to the home screen to re-lock in a new price… Does that make sense and is that what you mean?

          • @CrocDundee: Oh so you can just send the screenshot and that works too? I was under the impression that it sort of "refreshed" to a new barcode every time you hit "show voucher" (as it had the spinning wheel when you tap it).

But yes that is what I was trying to say in my original comment, sorry for not being clear enough!

The issue was they would be logged into my account, I would lock the price, but on their app it wouldn't be locked in, although if they logged out and logged back in then the lock would show up.

I think I might just send screenshots from now on if that works then, saves a bit of a hassle. Thank you for the heads up!

            • +1

@mangobango: Yeah a little more complicated if you have others logging into your account. The app would need to be refreshed by logging in and out if a lock was done via a different phone.

For me, just sending a screen shot has worked however, I know others have had their voucher rejected by the attendant when just showing a screen shot. I've been lucky so far that the several times I've done that, there hasn't been an issue.

All good though. Just wanted to be helpful and understand what you were trying to do.

              Good luck!

              • @CrocDundee:

The app would need to be refreshed by logging in and out if a lock was done via a different phone.

This will force and refresh, however simply force closing the app via multi tasking and relaunching the app can work as well!

                • @cwongtech: Unfortunately no.

The weird thing is, one of my brothers and my mum's phone picks up the lock automatically when I do it on my phone, but my other brother and my dad need to log out and log back in. Even force closing the app and also rebooting the phone doesn't work so they need to log back in instead.

        • +1

I do this too, but I use App Cloner (paid version).
I have one account for each person/car, and each account is logged into it's own cloned version of the hacked 7-Eleven app. Each person is logged into the proper store version of the app with their own account so they can access the lock I create for them. Another benefit of this is you use their money to fund their account.

          • @PepePepeson: Might give this a whirl too, never heard of App Cloner but I'll check it out when I get home from work.

Just to minimize the risk of them not scanning the screenshot.

            Thank you!

EDIT: Just realized this means I need to get more $100 gift cards for each person. Might stick to the screenshots for now, but I'll definitely keep this option in the back of my mind!

U98 130.7 Waverly Gardens Mulgrave VIC - Seems to keep dropping

  • Fuel prices will keep dropping due to Corona Virus and impact to the economy.

    • It's the other way around, the prices will rise.
AUD exchange rate is already the performing lowest. With shortage of supply for most of the stuffs, the price will rise.

      • Oil prices are falling though. Overall I think there will be a slight decrease in prices.

      • +2

        Nope. Prices will fall.

        • +1

Yes that's what tends to happen if there is a global recession

          • @TEER3X: I agree, if it's a global recession. However, Oil is priced and traded in dollars. So if you have a weak exchange rate - how many dollars you can buy with sterling - it's going to cost more in pounds to buy that fuel. if you know what I mean.

Australia gets nearly 95% of its fuel from Singapore. Exchange rate is a key, plus the other factors.

      • You were saying? Price of oil has tanked.

    • +4

It's because their 91 tank is faulty. It's fixed now. They are using 98 for 91

  • -1

sorry new to the thread…can I lock prices from QLD…and use it in NSW?

  • -3

Hey all, sorry for spamming you all this late at night but I just did something that may solve the issue for everyone that tries to lock in fuel:

    http://bit.ly/fuel-lock

It works as a charm and I just locked from my iPhone using Safari.

This is the same docker machine built by @Freyta and deployed to a VPS on DigitalOcean. I have no idea of the traffic that this will get and for now I'm paying the small amount of USD 5 per month. Depending on the traffic I might have to upgrade it to a more expensive machine, until then will be for free.

PS: For the ones not aware, by having this running on a machine of my own means that I may be doing anything, including steal passwords, etc. I'll search a way to automatic deploy what is on Github straight to my machine, which means that the open source code you can see on Github will be the same running on that page and you can feel a little bit safer.

    That's it, hoe you enjoy

    • +9

      Similar thing been done before
When 7-eleven realised was from the same IP everyone got banned (although got the gift card equivalent of their funds back). This is far too risky. Hence this big warning: 7-Eleven do not permit 3rd party online scripts from receiving your login credentials. Ensure that any code is only executed locally and is trusted.

    • +4

Great idea. Have been doing this for myself and friends. Great idea, but of course there is a risk of passwords getting stolen (not necessarily by you, but others may snoop since it's not a secured connection. To be extra safe, one should change passwords before using this and then change it back afterwards. Regardless, a brilliant idea and viable compromise between safety and convenience.

Edit: And of course there is the issue of 7/11 getting wind of this if it gets too popular.

    • +8

I ran this exact same thing, and resulted in hundreds of people being banned.
I also had 7/11 corporate find me on linkedin as they did a whois of my website, then contacted me and threatened me legally.

I'd advise no one to use this.

      • I also had 7/11 corporate find me on linkedin as they did a whois of my website, then contacted me and threatened me legally.

Dang, sorry! What did the email say?

Hope you've been keeping well anyway, haven't messaged you in a looonnggg time!

        • Essentially to just cease and desist anything to do with the 7/11 API usage to do unauthorized activities lol

      • +2

Oh gosh! Thanks for the heads up. Sorry everyone, we just can't be too nice 😢 Server is off

        Thanks for the messages too!

        • +2

No worries mate - thought i'd just let you know beforehand, Not worth any legal issues haha
I ran it for a few months, then alot of stuff went down, was unfortunate.

  • Still getting Foxtrot error on Nox, preventing me from logging in! Why is everyone so cagey about assisting, just send me a PM if you know how to fix this? Never had this issue and i've been locking for years.

    • +1

      Reset your pass.

I have no clue why, but a lot of my friends accounts have been running into this.

Maybe it's an automatic password timer that forces people to reset it?

      • -1

I am same. someone told maybe they have stopped support for Android 6. I used to get that pop-up

    • -1

Could just be a server error, try tomorrow.

Hi guys, my phone is getting this pop up window with this message when trying to login after installing the modded APK. "This resource requires a device id(Error code: Foxtrot)". Any idea what's going on?

Latest iPhone app update (version 1.10.0):

"We've made it even easier to lock in your best local fuel price at 7-Eleven! You now no longer need to have funds on your digital gift card to lock in a fuel price - simply search for your best local price, lock it in and then head in to your nearest store in the next 7 days!

    What's new in this release:
Removed the need to top up your Digital Gift Card
Removed the need to add a credit card
Removed the need to select the number of litres to lock in fuel
    Updated Terms & Conditions
    Bug fixes and improvements

What an unexpected surprise. I wouldn't have seen this coming as I thought they would be making some interest off of the prepaid funds.

    • I think the problems they have in keeping all these variables working, private / secure most cost them a bit. Making the app easier will just mean less I.T cost for them.

    • Interest rates falling might be a factor too

  • Do we have to update Master's APK file to work?or can we continue using his superior APP until 7 11 tell us to update.

    • -2

Tested just now and it still works.

  • +6

Looks like we need a new update for the app. Mine gives me the option of exiting the app or opening play store.

    • +1

Yeah I'm using freighter's modded APK and getting the same update prompt. Looks like the new update will require the app to be re-modded.

    • -3

Yes…now mine is giving me this message. I was lucky to get one last squirt in.

  • +1

Can confirm the same as above. using Modded apk v1.8 no longer options, forced to uninstall and install v1.10.0 for app to open.

    • -2

Mine not working. Says need to update.

      • -1

        Wow, yours too?
I wonder if it's working for anyone else at the moment.

        • -3

Same here. It's asking for an update.

    • +11

How about everyone not spam all the ozbargainers who get notifications whenever someone comments to this thread?

I understand that you are upset that someone has not updated a free app that they let you use, but don't take it out on Freighter/Master, nor everyone on this thread.

  • +2

I didn't lock in, but can confirm Freighter's python script is still able to log in, retrieve my details and get to confirmation of a manual lock.

You just need to update app version to "1.10.0" in settings.py

    • +1

Probably should update the app code part to 2044 as well.

    • It's working fine.
      you are a legend.

    • Legend! Thanks!

Also worth noting you now don't need to top up your account to lock-in!

      • Does this mean the account balance can be zero, therefore possible to create multiple accounts?

Thinking out loud here, not necessarily aimed at you :)

        • Yes because it also does not ask how many litres anymore either. It locks straight in.

    • +2

does this one still have the location 'stuff'?
My first attempt didnt seem to work with that

      • +13

Nope. If it's wanted or of interest I can add it in within a few days. Just got back from a weekend trip away, saw this needed updating and just chucked it up. I'm also half lazily testing to see if I need to update my Python script too.
