    • Yes me too

Have you got any in mind?

      • +1

No unfortunately. Will wait and see what's actually on sale then check reviews and prices

      DJI - Phantom 4 $1359
      Yuneec - Typhoon H 4K $1199
      UE Megaboom $199

    • Fingers of steel was hilarious tuzii! ;)

  • Hm….was looking at a washing machine 20min ago and now item has been taken offline. Hopefully just a one off case.

  • +1

That should bring down Dyson V8 absolute to $687.2 delivered! Tempting!

    • +2

Lol nah wait for the price jack before getting excited!

      • +3

        Who said excitement precedes jacking?

        • Depends on how long lasting the excitement is

    • Dyson has a price increase coming through on the v8 absolute. As of 1/02 the price will permanently be increased to $899.

      • +2

        Source?

  • +2

these threads always start out with positivity and anticipation but once the actual deal begins the inevitable price jacking complaints stream in, followed by the negs lmao

  • Is it just me, or are all those tv's overpriced?

I've been in the market for a month or so, and couldn't pull the trigger on that awesome Panasonic one just after Christmas.
But none of these tv's seem to have reasonable pricing…. already jacked up?

    • +1

I posted these lg uhd on sale few weeks ago at retavision, now bing lee has them at same price lg 60 uhd is on sale at $1499 if it stays that way will be $1200 Monday, also the lg 65 uhd is on sale at $1799 will be $1440, great prices if they don't raise prices before eBay sale begins. likely they wil

      • +1

Good news, they didn't raise prices; bad news, er …, they ended them.

  • +1

waiting for the price hike when 30th of jan comes

  • +1

Woohoo, Bose QC35 here I come!

    • +1

I can't see them on their eBay page. Have you got a link?

      • +1

Same. Do you have the link please?

    • Sorry, spoke too soon.
I just assumed they should have it but couldn't find link either!
Weird they don't have one of the best selling headphones!?

  • The Seagate 2TB portable hardrive will be $95.20. Not nearly as good as the previous Good Guys deal, but nice for those who might have missed it.

  • Literally bought a g602 today. Shouldve grabbed the G403 wireless instead.

  • They will likely remove some items they can't sell at 20% less like the Samsung dishwasher I was looking at just a few minutes ago, I took a screen shot of it before it disappeared at $599 which I know is already a super low and only found at appliance online for this price.

  • +2

if only they shipped the Hisense - 75M7000UWD to Perth.

  • $30 postage..

  • +5

As expected. Prices have jumped up
Changhong 65 was 799 earlier this week now 999!

  • +2

    Let the price jacking begin

  • +9

Let the blind positive votes begin

  • Damn, they don't seem to ship the fujitsu aircon systems - was getting excited!

Will have to keep waiting for TGG :p

  • The tv I want is already on sale so extra 20% makes it a very good price, but alas no shipping and no stores in vic.

Sets a good precedent for a price for me to aim for when I go to Harveys though

    • Which TV is already 20% off?

      • +5

They put it up from $2995 to $3699 overnight…

        http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Hisense-75M7000UWD-75-UHD-Smart…

PRICE GAUGERS BING LEE FAITH LOST, + VOTE REVOKED!!

        • Woah relax. That's one tv. The 70" Hisense is still $2,399 before code. I was watching the 75" too, but bit early to call price gauging… having said that, I feel the pain, really wanted that TV.

        • @ccrap: There are a lot of comments below here which indicate a wide range of products which have had price inflations. I wish to make it known before 10AM to avoid disappointment from fellow OZB members!

        • That's all great, but you're in Melbourne… and Bing Lee ebay don't deliver…

So I dunno if you could've gotten it anyway?

        • @montorola: i am in melb and ordered from them before, their ebay is weird, sometimes it'll be available for delivery and other times it won't be

        • I have got a tablet delivered them before to Melbourne.

        • @montorola: I was planning on using this deal to leverage a price match

        • +1

          @ccrap:
The 70" magically has a listing error.
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/162299977433

        • @Steptoe: Yeah it was listed with too low a price.

    • +1

Yep, I was watching the same one - was $2799 at Xmas, then $2999 for the past 3 weeks.
Now, suddenly $3699 this morning and now there's magically an error!

Forget it Bing Lee - not worth trying.

  • +1

Bugger, they don't ship their TVs.
Will wait for the next Good Guys 20% off.

  • +1

am i being dim? what is the code for the discount please?

    • Wait to it starts, nobody knows yet.

      • +3

        ok thank you

  • You never know what's good until the sale starts. I assume price jacking as usual

    • Yeah, best to monitor the prices now so you can compare.

If they're going to jack them up, there's no point in having a sale really. They're just taking the piss out of ebay.

  • ♪I like Bing Lee.

    • -3

      (profanity) you Bing Lee

    • Lionel!

  • -6

Is this for Mr Lee's Honkonese/Chinese New Year celebration? They still throw in a crappy set of dodgy rice bowls that look like they come from Vinnies or Salvation Army recycle bin?

  • No GoPro :(

Still regretting not getting one from GG in last years sale.

  • I'm after a Panasonic A/C, but apparently my local store is out of stock. I'm prepared to go and pick it up but they don't even give me the option of adding it to the cart so I can buy it when the sale starts. As with others, I might wait for the GG's, they don't seem to have stock problems.

    • No store stock of any Panasonic A/C unit near me either.

    • I think I had a similar issue with something like this before, and mucked around with the postcode/state on my eBay account and fixed it. Might work?

Also which model do you recommend? Looking as well.

I've installed one already in our home in December, and my parents put one in (via the Good Guys) two weeks ago. A bloody ripper for medium sized spaces in 40 degree heat. I'm waiting for 20% off so I can buy one to put in to stock!

  • Time to snatch a Chromecast.

  • +2

Need a fridge and a washing machine. This may come in handy.

  • The hisense 55 and 50 inch 3300 uhf would be $711 and $588 respectively. Good deal.

That's delivered and if they don't raise prices.

  • Do we need a promo code?

    • It will usually come later. On the day or slightly before.

  • They were selling Sunbeam multicooker for 66$, and now it's 79$

  • +3

For those concerned about price jacking, just type the name of the product your after here https://pricehipster.com At least it will show what other retailers have sold for so you know if you're ballpark or getting ripped off

I dumped all the current prices to CSV:

    Computers
    Fridges & Freezers
    Health & Fitness
    Heating & Cooling
    Kitchen & Laundry
    Phones & Cameras
    Small Appliances
    TV & Audio
    Vacuums

It'll be interesting to do it again once the sale is on to see all the pricejacking ^_^

      Not all heroes wear capes

    • Wow. How did you do that?

      • Yes please tell us how you did that! Awesome work!

      • +16

I wrote a quick and nasty application in Rust that hits the store listing pagination API endpoint (see examples below) which produces an eventual JSON structure containing all the information needed to render a page full of listings, extracts the relevant bits from that and writes it out as a CSV and repeats until there aren't any more results.

The endpoint is used to implement the "Show more" button at the bottom of the store listing pages (like this), keep hitting that button and it'll keep pulling in more results until there are none left.

This pulls the first 24 items in the computers category (_ofs parameter is the listing offset, = (page num - 1) * 24):

        http://www.ebay.com.au/clt/binglee/bing-computers?_ofs=0&isA…

        Second page (next 24 results):

        http://www.ebay.com.au/clt/binglee/bing-computers?_ofs=24&is…

The immediate response isn't actually JSON; for some reason they return JSON wrapped in a function call ('undefined' in this case because I don't specify the callback parameter) and eval it on the page… just another example of shoddy eBay workmanship :P. So I just chop off the leading '/**/undefined(' and trailing ');' to get the JSON payload.

That was a bit tedious because you can only use that endpoint when you have a category; you can't just say "give me all of bing's listings" instead it's "give me all of bing's TV & audio listings".

I just wrote a new version in Go (Rust doesn't yet have a nice DOM query library) that just pulls it out of the search results HTML so I can specify some search parameters and it'll pull all the listings from that.

        • That sounds awesome!

        • +7

i cant understand it but you are a real hero.

He lost me on the first sentence. Then I was like 'yep this guy knows what he's talking about'

        • +1

The function call is for JSONP I believe. It's a way of doing cross domain Web service calls without the browser bitching.

  • Can anyone comment on this LG monitor http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-LG-27UD58-27-LED-Monitor-from…
the price seems good for the specs after the 20% off?
    Thanks

  • Thinking about grabbing one of the Acer Aspire F5-573 Notebooks mainly for movies, general browsing and a bit of gaming would that get the job done?

And with the price difference is the i7 worth it over the i5 model?

    • Won't help in this sale if you need a laptop right now (as it hasn't been released yet) but look at the Aspire 15 VX. If its launch price is to be believed (and if it actually launches in Aus) its specs are killer for the price.

      • +1

Had a look at that thanks, might be worth holding off and seeing if it gets released in Oz!

    • FWIW, I went with the Hisense 65M7000 to fill the gap until OLED is adfordable. :)
