Two offers from Lenovo for Easter. The E570 is at its cheapest in this configuration, and the E470 has been extended at the same price as an apology by Lenovo for incorrectly ending the previous deal two days early. Use the links below and apply the appropriate coupon at checkout to get the discount. Lenovo is also offering half price warranty at a ridiculous $63 for 2 years of NBD on-site coverage (as opposed to standard return to base) - a no brainer in my opinion. Both offers end Monday. A SAFE & HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL :)

    Happy Easter, Tightarse.

Hope you have a tight one.

    • Ok TA-ain you've done it again! Thanks for the wonderful deals :)

  • +15

These prices are almost becoming the norm every week.. hmm..

  • Ooooh tempting

  • Lenovo is dumping non-touch screen models

    • +1

Advantage of touch screen isn't so much the touch but they have a glass digitiser so screen doesn't scratch and easier to clean.

  • Any idea how these would go running Solidworks?

    • i7, lots of RAM + SSD is a good start. At least its an nvidia gpu, so you've got some chance, but swx is very fussy about video cards and drivers. I'd hit the solidworks forums to ask there how this one goes. There's also a graphics compatability advisor

  • +2

Damn lost $33 on previous E570 $1010 deal.

    • -6

Same here, lost $122 from recent deal of E570 for $1099. And it sucks as it is still on its way to be delivered.

      • +5

I've just decided to cut my Easter eggs budget to fill the gap.

      • +13

@Venom You neg'd the deal because you paid more from a recent deal, then you upvoted Skramit's comment stating that the same deal/price is posted every fortnight. I'm confused :)

  • +2

For E570, the ssd option can be changed to Intel 256GB Solid State Drive, PCIe-NVMe OPAL2. Is there a difference or just a mistake?

    • +1

The PCIe-NVMe option has a faster interface, though this is unlikely to be noticeable in practice.
The main reason you would choose this option is that it frees up the 2.5" drive bay, so you could add a second drive.

      • A legitimate question as both options are 256GB PCIe-NVMe OPAL2, with the second one stating 'Intel' while the default option does not.

  • -4

Appears to me to be pure advertising now.

These same models with the same specs keep getting posted as deals but prices seem to be the standard pricing posted every fortnight.

    • +8

If you know of somewhere else you can get a laptop with the E570's specs for <$1000 please share

      • +3

Don't get me wrong, they are still good units for a good price, I just don't understand why they are posted as new deals by the same person for the same price once a fortnight.

        • +4

posted as new deals by the same person for the same price

          yep lets investigate…

lost $122 from recent deal of E570 for $1099

        • +2

@Savas: yeah I was in the market for one and missed out on TA's last deal. Sorry for offending anyone posting the same item for more $$$ as TA's had expired.

So no, not the same person, dearer but best price I could find matching my requirements at the time.

Edit: not directed at you in any way

        • -1

@decr: Nothing to do with you, good work for posting!

      • +18

And it's the cheapest it's been in this config. Some people are just never pleased :)

        • You always please me, Tightarse.

        • +2

@Scab: I'm glad you've got a comma in that sentence, could have read a lot different.

        • @Scab:
          ME too.
And for the record i lost money on this deal hahah

        • I got the 570 …..Very nice laptop ……Almost tempted to eBay the Acers we have and get some more Lenovo's …..Only down side is rectangular power plug .

        • TA - thanks HEAPS for this deal and the tonnes of other deals you keep posting for the community. You saved me and my colleagues $$$$$$ over time.

Query - any idea on weight of these folks… VERY tempting!!!!

    • +3

Can you link to a post where an E570 with these specs has been this cheap? If not, remove your neg.

      • or what?

        • +1

Or they'll suffer the shame and embarrassment of being known as an inappropriate neg voter. And get herpes.

    • +3

"Standard Pricing on Ozbargain" ≠ "Standard Pricing"

We are just lucky that these deals are available as often as that, thanks to TA's constant lobbying, because anywhere else you pay 1.5x as much for the same specs.

      • +2

I still think it's cheeky advertising with deal spam by Lenovo.

        /shrug

        • +8

Spam is for stuff nobody wants to buy.
I want to buy this - and I don't even need it!

  • This laptop have Ethernet port and CD drive ?

    • +2

Looks like only the E570 has DVD drive. Both have Ethernet.

      • I mean no one use Ethernet and DVD drive nowdays

        • +1

I do. I wont buy a laptop without an Ethernet port in case of crappy Wi-Fi, and DVD burner because I use it to back up my photos and videos. There are many more like me.

  • +1

Thank you so much TA, I have purchased the E570. Amazing deal!

    • Hi! When is the estimated shipping date ?

      • Not sure what is happening. It's still unshipped although I got a order confirmation on 13 April from Lenovo. I have also not received a credit to cashrewards although I used the TA code.

  • +6

I'm still waiting on the T460's… The January deal was awesome. I know that if I purchase now there will be a deal a few days later. I also know if I don't buy there won't be a deal for year. Damned if you do. I'll just turn off all Internet and live in ignorance methinks.

    • +1

Here's hoping a similar deal comes up soon, that one was awesome. These E series laptops are just a bit too bulky for my purposes.

  • 5% cashback from Cash Rewards as well, GREAT!!!

  • Lenovo are moving to challenge Dell's NBD warranty and whilst the techs are good the logistics isn't quite there yet. You're generally not going to get NBD service like Dell's, but it's still pretty good

    • Dell's Next Business Day is more like Next Business Week for those in Tassie. Still have to pay for it though.

      • It shouldn't be, if you are experiencing delays and have a NBD warranty, call Dell and insist on it, and if you're not getting it, ask why. Their logistics should cover it. There are regions where it might be classed as "second business day" but they're pretty regional.

        • Hobart CBD. insisting doesn't help. I think it's the lack of techs that's the problem. Then again even parts take up to 3 days to arrive so as far as I'm concerned the whole NBD doesn't exist here, even though we are forced to pay for it through purchasing agreements.

        • @decr: Sorry to hear that, I'm in a similar position to you but even in regional QLD we get NBD service, local techs are great

        • +1

@Wampus: Yeah… I don't get it why it's like an acceptable thing down here. Lodge a ticket with Dell and they'll fluff around long enough and then have the local tech mob ring up saying they can probably make it in 2-3 business days if the parts arrive in time. I have a good 100+ of these things to look after and it gives me the shits when I have to put up with a weeks downtime for a server that has NBD warranty. /end rant

  • Not a special unless they give us a further 20% off.

  • +2

Great deal! This blows away the refurbished Dell latitude 3000 deal i was going to buy today.

  • Is this laptop good enough for Overwatch? Advise please
Or better spend money on building up a desktop PC?

    • +1

For the same price you can build a complete setup that will run overwatch maxed out. This is including monitor with keyboard and mouse.

If you don't need portability and have the space always go for a desktop when gaming.

      • I already have monitor, keyboard and mouse. Don't need portability. Can you please give me the suggestions for
        CPU
        Video Card
        RAM
        etc

I will check the price in MSY

        Thanks

        • For 1080p:
          Gpu: rx460 or gtx 1050ti
          Cpu: Intel g4560 Pentium
Mobo: msi b250m something yada yada, the cheapest b250m motherboard.
          Ram: 8gb ddr4 crucial
          Ssd: 120gb / 240gb
Psu: any 450w - 550w should do, id go for something like a cougar 550w gold
          Case: whatever you want

All that should be well and truly under 700. Add in an os and you're laughing.

        • @Perz: I have a 1050ti and i definitely cannot run overwatch maxed out

        • @mrmrum: that's odd. I built a machine for s friend of mine and it was mazing out with 60fps.
I did tone shadows down to like medium though but I think the rest was epic.

    • +1

For the laptop, yes it will run Overwatch fine at 1080p.

A desktop would be better though.

      • Yeah ….Laptop mobile CPU vs desktop CPU …..Desktop wins everytime …….

    • The E570 will run Overwatch 1080p 60fps at high/ultra settings.

  • Wish my laptop got stolen somehow

    • +11

What's the spec and what's your address?

  • This or dell xps15?

  • Can we remove the dvd burner and replace it with hdd caddy? (Thus it'll be 3HDD in total)

    • +1

      E570 definitely…..Have done it

  • E470 or E570..
    Usage browsing, counter strike,
Running Android studio and some other basic softwares …

    • Either would do the job. Just get whichever form factor you prefer.

  • +1

Should I get the E470 or wait for the Xiaomi Air to go on sale?
I have a good gaming pc but I want some portability for Uni as well as being capable of some games

    • +1

Lenovo will be a far easier warranty process in my opinion.

  • Any deals on the E570 with an i5-7200u

    • Why? i7-7500u is basically the same thing.

  • Is this good for LightRoom?

  • +1

    Hi TA,
I am buying E470 laptop. The Ram is 2133MHz on Lenovo website, however, you mentioned 2400MHz here.
Please let me know how to update this?

  • +1

Brilliant deals! Thanks TA for your tireless bargaining!

Maybe you should include the normal price or the percentage off, as that would probably attract even more people to this deal.

    E570 normal price is $1,749 (44.1% off)
    E470 normal price is $1,599 (43.8% off)

Unusual percentages… are my maths off? Hopefully I haven't embarrassed myself…

I didn't know these were such huge bargains, but I just happened to be looking for a new laptop for my sister who is going to work in the UK soon.

Which leads me to my question: is the warranty an international warranty? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere, I've tried reading through the "Warranty Policies" section but it's all mumbo jumbo to me… :(

  • -5

Meh.. was going to buy until i saw it is only 2 cores.. not 4.

    • -1

and i wish you had realised that all laptops are dual core unless you buy a gaming laptop

      • -2

I guess my macbook pro is a gaming laptop?

        i7-3740QM

        • +1

Was your Macbook Pro under $1k new? You're looking at the wrong price range if you want a quad core laptop.

        • +1

          @Yuri Lowell:

Not the point. It was said that all laptops are dual core unless gaming. I was simply pointing that was not the case

        • @joshuah: this is about windows laptops. Yes you can get normal laptops with quad core cpus, but nothing below $1500 at the bare minimum and yes even if they aren't called gaming laptops, they have gaming laptop specs.

Now macs on the other hand are a whole other story. They have their own special intel cpus. You can't compare mate

  • +5

You wouldn't want to be in a hurry to get one of these machines though.
Ordered mine last weekend, now I see that expected ship date is 30 May meaning that I might get it before EOFY if I'm lucky.
Not so much 6-9 days as 6-9 weeks. Party Pete says 'Avoid'

    • Agree.
Ordered mine on the 29th March. Received 11th April.

  • Anyone know how much usable is left of the 256 GB on the 570 after Win 10 and whatever bloatware is on it? I already have 66GB of music and 100GB of pics on my lappie, and don't want to get caught short.

    • Only guessing here as I haven't used windows in years, but the used-to-be rule of thumb was 30GB up for the OS, although even that might not be enough nowdays. Put stuff you don't need every day on an external hdd if you are going to stick with windows, problem solved.

Mine is due to arrive next week!

      • +1

Maybe I should get the TB drive included too. Dearer than an external!, But handy.

        • +1

I'm thinking of getting the TB drive also - this will be a newb question, but the 1TB would be in addition to the SSD correct?

        • @chriskq:

yep Im guessing they install win10 etc on the ssd and the 1tb is a secondary drive …

        • @chriskq: yep

        • Cheers lads

    • I've got my acer laptop running on 128gb SSD for over a year.

3 or so games.. Maybe taking up 20gb.

      Temp movie files About 10gb.

Which leave about 30gb for free for downloads.

Everything gets shove onto an external regularly.

    • from the one I ordered, 198GB free

  • TA, without wishing to appear ungrateful for these great deals, does your influence with Lenovo extend to getting equally great deals on the Miix range?

    • Harvey Norman seem to have these cheapest (on sale now). Not much cheaper than SP4, i3 is good value in comparison as comes with keyboard standard.

  • +1

If i plan on using this as a long term work laptop (im about to start a job where you need to bring your own laptop) would it be worth getting the 3yr warranty instead of the 2yr considering it's also got the 50% discount. The type of warranty seems different though

    2Y On-site NBD upgrade from 1Y Depot/CCI delivery vs 3 Years On-site + Premier Support

NBD is not a huge concern as i will have a backup laptop to use if any hardware failures - im more concerned i'll be covered should the screen or motherboard die for example.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks for bringing these deals TA, I'm ready to pull the pin on the E470 for a upcoming trip in May, but based on comments here and elsewhere, I'm not likely to receive it in time. Lenovo are closed for the holidays and weekend so can't confirm directly with them.

TA maybe you could use your influence and secure some units for quick shipment for OZB buyers?

  • +2

Thanks for posting the deals TA, I dont understand why people whinge about better prices on laptops! I bought a Lenovo a year or so ago through a deal that was posted on OzBargain. And I am really happy with the laptop. it is real good value for money. Thanks again for the deals, keep em coming !

  • Finally snapped up one of these deals. Thanks TA. Where are they shipped from?

  • Got E570,thanks op

    • Hi when is your expexted ship date ?
