  • Spoke to them just now, they will refund the money of Mobile and Membership. Ensure that you get the reference number, just in case if there are any hiccups afterwards. Refund will be processed in up to 10 business days.

    • May I ask what time you put in your order?

      • +1

        Yesterday around 11:30 pm.

        • Oh wow, you got in heaps early :O

        • just to confirm, did they cancel your order or were you asking about what happens if the order is cancelled?

        • @enzioFirenze: They cancelled because of no stock, no back orders. So I informed that the only reason I got the membership is for this deal, if you are not honoring it, I don't want the membership. Had to wait for 30 min in the phone queue though.

  • -2

neged just becasue im a hater and want to stick the boot in while they are down

    • +9

      Erm…no you didn't.

      • lol

        • couldnt neg, ralised after its locked.

          still hating though.

    • -1

I negged to warn people not to waste their time and money as you cannot get a new S7 for that price.

  • +1

I'm wondering if someone actually get their order shipped.

  • +1

Status is "partially dispatched".. I wonder what part of the phone they're sending out first

    • +12

      The membership.

    • empty box

    • +1

I placed 2 orders an S7 at 23:50 and a tab S2 at 00:05. The S7 says partially dispatched and i have just received a cancelation email about half an hour ago. But my tab still says processing and no cancelation email yet… fingers crossed.

    • +2

      cancellation email received

  • +3

My orders have been cancelled and I got an email saying I should receive a refund within 10 business days.

  • +3

However, given that your order components are not available, in this special circumstance, we are more than happy to offer a membership refund. So, if you would like a refund, please let us know.

  • +2

Just got a cancellation email on S7 Edge

  • +1

Received a cancellation email on both the phone and tablet. Live and learn. Not unexpected. Did get an offer to refund the membership, which I've accepted (don't see myself using again).

  • +1

lucky I didn't pay for the membership last night, prices are too good to be true

  • +1

How is this deal still being upvoted?

its @ a 100+ now, lets see in the next few hours

  • +1

Why do I get the feeling that they're only offering the refund of membership this time around because of this deal's publicity on here…

Seems the only time they offer refunds on memberships is when the issue becomes public.

    • +1

They are probably offering the refund because they know a certain number of people are going to say "hmm you get some kinda alright deals with it" and will choose to hang onto it and other will say "meh it's only $25". I would be interested to see how many people out of those that signed up purely for this deal actually cancel their membership.

      • +2

        Oh, absolutely.

These "deals" are great business for them, even if they get some bad publicity, because it seems people keep making the same mistakes.

They'll get a nice cash injection into their coffers without having to do anything - effectively a loan - and out of everyone that paid up for memberships, I'd say about 10 or 20% of them will keep the membership in case they want to use it or because they just can't be bothered chasing a refund.

        Classic bait and switch.

    • Woah, they're actually living up to their name… they're co-operating!

    • -1

OR they wont refund membership,, GL getting refunds!, this was a scam.

  • +3

Just got a cancellation email on S7 Edge

  • +3

    Order cancelled

  • +3

Just got a cancellation for a S2 tab order

Negging coz they're keeping my $$ for 10 days instead of 2-4 days

  • +5

10 business days for refunds? What kind of Stone Age payment processing system are they using? That's essentially another business week's worth of free money for them to use.

    • +1

Agreed. If even Hardly Normal can refund a cancelled order within a week, they have no excuse.

      • Funny enough the order status in my account says processing rather than cancelled. Sounds phishy

        • +1

I have an order from last year for a BB-8 that was refunded that's still processing……

    • +1

      Charge back time?

    • +1

The same type of stone age where they still can't count, going by all the emails everyone is going to receive due to no stock apparently.

  • Does anyone have a screengrab from this? Thanks

  • +1

Bahahahaha, what a joke this has been
For the couple of members that picked it early, well done to you!

    • Wait and see how many people scored one, I'm guessing 5 people at most

  • +3

To anyone who has had their order cancelled but have decided to keep the membership or are just too lazy to get it refunded, according to Co-Op you are now shareholders!

Congrats, you now directly support the business and its practices (including screwing you over) :D

  • +2

Waste of time, scammers should be banned

  • +2

So many cancelled orders, not acceptable.

  • +2

    order cancelled for me :(

  • +1

The s7 were never out of stock but it was clearly a price error. I bet they didn't honour 1 so why say it's out of stock?

    • +1

Read earlier post by tonyhsu (who spoke to them):

"The good news: all prices are legit, they are honouring the deal for people who got in (very) early."

      • +4

I call bs unless someone here actually gets 1.

        • I'm not saying that I believe them, but why wouldn't they just say it was a price error if it was? That would look way better than them saying the prices were correct, which means they advertised this sale on their front page despite having next to no stock, and knowing that this deal would blow up on ozbargain and that their slow system would continue to allow purchases to be made for items that should show as out of stock (both of these things were acknowledged by the store rep in a previous deal).

Believe them or not, 'price error' would have looked a lot better in this situation.

        • @mrdavedave: That's what I'm asking. And if it was the correct price, that means the s7 is the same price as the s6? Doesn't add up.

        • Well, we'll see if the OP, who you would imagine got this deal before it got OzBargained, gets his/her S7.

If not… then what they're saying is bs.

  • The TomTom Runner Cardio for $50 is even a better bargain if this is legit

  • +1

Ordered 6 different items (3 first and 3 later, only ordered so many because people here thought they were likely to be cancelled anyway) and received cancellation email for 4 items out of stock (including s7).
The others (from first order) are coming, it seems:

Your order has been packed up, shipped off and is now on its way from
The Co-op UQ St Lucia to you.

    Here's what's coming:

       1. Samsung Tab A 8.0 LTE 16GB SM-T355YZWAXSA
       2. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Black 32GB

Have no idea where UQ St Lucia is, second order was sent to Melb Uni.

    • +1

Uni qld…st lucia campus…you were thinking some exotic sunkissed Carribean tax haven?

      • Just didn't know why the order would be sent there since I'm in Melbourne.

        • Being sent from there..guess that branch had stock to fulfil your order and they jumped on the order. Some forty plus branches potentially could have stock.

    • Please let us know if anything arrives

    • wow… I could have walked into the store this morning. UQ represent!

  • +3

Scammed, dont know why people fell for this.

    • -2

it's not scam. i bought one for the said price just today.

  • -6

    Bunch of moaning prats.

You can get your membership fee refunded, in full.. after 2 years… or after you die.

Meanwhile you can enjoy attending annual general meetings and otherwise voicing your displeasure about "your" Co-op. After all…you now own a piece of it.

  • If you seriously want to cancel your interim membership…technically it's probably still subject to formal approval process at the next Board meeting. Theoretically you could submit, in writing, your membership application WITHDRAWAL.

Yes, can get refunded before your Application is approved by the board.

Otherwise, memberships are for life and are not refundable (that's a new-ish rule!). Used to be able to get your $2 membership refunded (for those who joined way back last millenium).

  • I haven't received an order confirmation or cancellation yet, it's still under "reviewing" at my order status. Anyone else?

    • +1

I ordered two tablets. One shipped, one still 'Processing'. I'm not hopeful of the 'Processing' one ever shipping.

      • Which tablet model was shipped?

        • Both ended up shipping
          Tab A 10.1 w/ note 16gb
          Tab S2 8.0 32gb black wifi

  • +1

Long post but might be helpful…

    I bought a 'Samsung Tab A 10.1 w/ Note 4G 16GB Black' for $179.70.
Received an email today at 2:20 saying it was shipped with a tracking number.

I work at Griffith and we have a coop on campus. I think since stock that's ordered comes from store shelves, there's potential that you can miss out on stock if it's purchased before it can be removed from the shelf for shipping, or if their PoS system is out of sync with their webstore database.

It's not ideal but seems to work often enough. I previously purchased a Logitech K400R Wireless Touch Keyboard from them on the 7/April for $12.45 via webstore but that still hasn't shipped. They haven't cancelled the order but I need to get in touch whether it'll ever ship or if it's been forgotten.

I've been a member of the Co-op since 2008 when I started studying (and subsequently working) here.

They regularly have sales, sometimes accidental. Two weeks ago I got two 64gb sandisk Micro SD ultra and USB dongle for $7.50 and $13 respectively due to mis-stickering on the shelf. After I purchased I went to get another but they'd realised their mistake and wouldn't sell for that price again.

I think back when I joined in 2008 you could refund your membership if you no longer wanted/needed it, but appears that's been removed (if it was ever there..?)

Hope this is some useful personal experience.

  • +2

S7 order got cancelled as well :(

  • a good news and a bad news.
good news is that it's legit.
bad news is that the stock is almost gone.
i went to the actual co-op store and managed to buy the last mobile in stock. it happened to be S7 edge and i paid $399 including $25 membership fees.

    • What store?

      • -1

        curtin. but none left now.

    • +1

And this is the frustrating part….
People who ordered online are told they are out of stock after the orders are sent to these stores for processing, and yet someone can just walk in and buy it off the shelf, which probably happened a lot today.
EternalBliss - don't get me wrong, still happy for you!

      • i can understand your frustration. i was told that someone ordered two phones and once they were delivered to the store the person cancelled one order. so i guess i got lucky to be at right place and right time.

        • +1

          well done bud!

    • -1

Hey, could I please get a photo of your receipt? Submitted a claim for price protection and gonna need some proof… Cheers

  • +2

As a consolation prize, I bought four Sandisk Ultra 64gb Micro SD cards for 5 each. Shipping was $6.50

    Not a bad haul for 26 spent…
Forgot to use cash rewards though. Oh well.

Guess they do have some good stuff from time to time.

    • Same bought 5 x 64gb Micro SD Cards. Hope it will go well with the Xoaomi Xiaofang IP camera :)

      • +1

I bought 4 cards + membership, $52 shipped. Taking the gamble, hopefully they get delivered as that is exactly what I bought them for as well lol. should be more stock of these available though. also silly me, forgot cash rewards.

        • why weren't these micro sd cards posted on here?? D:

    • Thanks for this mate. My Micro SD cards and Dual USB Drives arrived today.

      • did you get a shipping notification/order updated to "fully dispatched" (rather than partially dispatched)? Or they just turn up randomly?

        • +1

They send a other email confirmation that its been packed and shipped form a specific store with a tracking number. Mines coming from QLD to Melbourne

        • @Dezeption: thanks, then I guess either they ran out of stock or are trying to source more from another store. I ordered when two stores in Sydney supposedly had stock.

        • As Dezeption said, received an email from a specific store saying my items have been packed and shipped. Mine came from two stores in Melbourne.

        • @lepdawg: Thanks. Fingers crossed mine will ship soon. Order confirmation is Tuesday 5:50pm, hopefully wasn't too late.

  • While they do make money from people most likely not cancelling their memberships, I think they would make most of their money from the interest they will earn on the money in the bank.
How many people would have paid, and how much would they make on it over 10 business days?

Anyway, $25 for 6yr membership isn't really that much to be honest, its like 35c per month! I'm sure they'll have another sale in that time…

    • +2

You do know that the banks don't pay them straightaway right? Most of the 10 days will be spent on manual reversals.

Even if people paid cash, 2% on $400 over 10 days will earn 20 cents, they would have to sell 10s of thousands of units last night, and paid by cash, in order to make a few grand, which is not that much for a business considering the hassles.

  • Ordered S7 and S7 edge, but only got S7 canceled. S7 edge is still processing, any chance they will honor it?

    • +1

Maybe if you ordered within a few minutes of this being posted

  • +2

I've had items in an order cancelled because they don't know how to run an ecommerce site with basic inventory management.

  • I went to uni in 1996 and they were able to find my membership details last year so I am still a member 20 years after I last bought a text book from them. Im not sure if Ill ever use it again but interesting that if you went to Uni years ago you're probably still in the database.

  • +2

Your order has been packed up, shipped off and is now on its way from
The Co-op JCU Townsville to you.

    Here's what's coming:

      1. Samsung Tab S2 8.0 Wi-Fi 32GB Black

    Yay

    • I thought you ordered a Samsung Galaxy S8?

  • Dammit once again i miss a great deal. Now I have to wait a year for the same thing for the s8

  • +1

so my S7 and Tab S2 9.7" order was cancelled. Worth a try.
