        • +4

          @Scab:

Sure they do. What single Ozbargainer could resist RSVP free weekend!? :P

    • +1

some stores allow you to get anything. Only the cheap stake stores give you the minimum.

  • And after you'll get to enjoy an Original Recipe or Zinger burger with a regular chips and drink - FREE!

Can you swap that for a free bucket and large coleslaw?

    • +4

No but if you get a blue bandaid from cheap store, put some tomato sauce on the inside the night before then slip it into the burger you can prob get free what ever you like.

      • +14

        User name checks out.

        • +19

I thought you were replying to yourself there for a second.

        OzFraud strikes again!

    • +1

When I went they let us get basically any standard single person meal pack.

      • +4

A bucket and a large coleslaw is a single person meal for me.

        • +6

As long as your persuasion skills match your appetite then you should be right as rain!

  • +12

This is how they keep their costs so low.

    KFC is people !!!!

    • Maybe in Tasmania…

    • And by people you mean horse right?

    • Saturday is KFC day

    • +2

Lookout for the cookbook "To Serve Man".

Many years ago I went to the pictures and saw a travelogue short for Switzerland, that I swear, was the one from Soylent Green just before they bump you off. I wondered about the popcorn and the best way out of the cinema.

    • +2

Has anyone ever heard back from someone who attended this event?

      I know I haven't…

  • +6

after you'll get to enjoy an Original Recipe or Zinger burger with a regular chips and drink - FREE!

And they'll still get the order wrong!

  • +2

Yum another tour and free KFC.

  • +7

I have a date coming up, now I know where to take the lucky girl. Thanks OP.

    • +4

It's anniversary time here and I'm delighted that this year it's chicken. Hubby will be so happy, too.

  • booking close in sydney except airport store, so quick.

  • +2

When did it get so dangerous ? Kids under 16 no longer allowed.

    • +5

In our kitchens we have oil and fryers and mostly everything a kid can touch is going to be hot. I work there and I'm not aloud into to the kitchens for safety reasons (don't know the exact reason why)

      • +11

I'm not aloud into to the kitchens

        I lol'ed

        • +58

Rip, I work at kfc what do you expect?

        • +2

@Lockster: you win the comment of the day.

        • +1

          @try2bhelpful: I'm quite proud

        • @Lockster: this makes no sense. A 14.75 years old person can work at KFC but have to be 16 to participate in this. lol

        • +1

@cheapisgood: When your under 15 at KFC they make you work lobby or drive through, you don't get finished training kitchen hand stuff until your 16, so makes sense to me

      • +2

Must be the quality of applicant you attract. At Maccas, we chucked them in the kitchen from 14 years and 9 months. Slave to the grill.

      • I believe you , just that I did the tour with a cousin three years back and he was only 12 and they let him in. Must have changed the rules

    • Yeah thats more a legality thing than anything. TBH i would have thought any kind of thing like this would have an age limit

  • +7

"This is the staff. This is the vat of oil. This is the till where money goes in. K bye"

    • +6

You sound like you'd make a great manager.

      • Better than most.

    • +1

but where does the chicken go? 🤔

    • @ireadtermsofuse
Girl, if you were a chicken you'd be impeccable.

  • +3

Good opportunity to meet some hot chics.

    • +6

      You mean hot chicken, right?

      • +5

He might mean hot, stylish fashions.

      • A little from column A…

      • +1

He is only interested in their buns.

  • Thanks

  • Here I am getting a zinger burger, chips, potato and gravy and a krusher for $7…

    • How and where that sounds like a good deal.

      • +1

KFC app, some under 'Colonel's table'. Burger combo deluxe, some stores allow you to swap the drink for a chocaholic krusher

  • Thanks OP, Just booked and can bring a guest for regional QLD.

  • +28

The manager at my local told me to stop coming. Apparently being booked in for the last 3 KFC tours is frowned upon. The last 2 times, he did not even give me the tour (seeing I was the only one who turned up)- got my meal just for turning up. I've signed up again just to make him happy!

    • +11

      Username checks out

    • +11

Rock up with a fake mo poorly stuck to your face

      • +1

Say "hello, my name is Regniz. And I come from some place far far away. Yes, that'll do"

    • Just say you're their for the job interbiew

      • +3

Then if that doesn't work tell them you're here for the job interview.

        • Then if that doesn't work tell them you're lost and stumbled in for the job interview.

        • Then if that doesn't work tell them you're here for the job interview.

          Overqualified!

          See:

          @Lockster:

In our kitchens we have oil and fryers and mostly everything a kid can touch is going to be hot. I work there and I'm not aloud into to the kitchens for safety reasons (don't know the exact reason why)

    • (seeing I was the only one who turned up)-

Hahahahahaha take that fellas advice for a poorly-stuck mo' !!

    • Did you go to your fourth tour?

      • +2

BigMac2000.. i have an uneasy feeling that we should not be talking to each other. However, i will make an exception this time.
Sure did mate! The manager just shook his head when I came in. I think it was his way of saying: i missed you buddy! Also, seeing that I always present the feedback form (which needs to be approved by him) for free chips+drink every week or so, he probably resisted the urge to kick me out of his store!

        • +1

          Hahahaha you're his best customer

  • +5

Welcome to willie wonkers chicken factory!

  • -1

Some people would drop into hell for an hour if they could get a free hot poker out of it.

  • +3

The two KFCs near where I live and another two near where I work aren't participating. What have they got to hide???

    • Sounds like KFC could mean anything now…

"We didn't say the C stands for Chicken!!"

    • What have they got to hide???

      Bats?

  • OH&S say a smartphone is dangerous?
    Sure they do.

  • +1

I used to get the newsletter / email alerting me of this but it has stopped and I've since missed the last few :( How are you guys getting notified (other than through ozb)?

  • +1

I wonder if I'll be the only who turns up again :\

    • I can tag along if we're near. I'll be the mute one, just there for the chicks however. :)

      • can i go back to tick the +1 box? ;)

    • +2

A shame that my nearest KFC is only doing it at 10:30am. Looks like it's early lunch for me! Taking my mum with me as a guest so I could get double :D

      • early Mother's Day lunch \o/

back when they first started Open Kitchens, you had the choice of 2 time slots. now they're just running all of them at 10.30 :(

  • I'm going to start prepping chicken jokes!!

Why did the chicken go to KFC?

    • +12

He wanted to see a chicken strip

  • +1

I wonder when they'll show us the part where they ignore the chicken feathers and deep fry it anyway.

Seriously this has happened a couple times.
From start to finish they're a lot of of people that would see the chicken piece from live chicken being killed to crumbling and frying. I thought they had a chef that quality controlled it.

I know where it comes from and it doesn't matter too much, just kinda funny. I guess it's a pretty rare occurrence and mistakes happen in any industry or system.

  • Now made with real pieces of chicken?

  • Got the 10:30 slot also. Possibly they don't want to have it in the midst of busy hours.

Been checking my in-tray, nothing showing up yet.

  • People still going on these tours to figure out the secret herbs and spices ? take in a go pro lolz

    • +1

i'm only there for the free lunch.

      • There's no such thing as a free lunch.

        • +1

people who say that are doing it wrong ;)

        • @tdw:
30mins for an $8 lunch. Worth?

  • +2

Can we show them how to cook hot chips properly instead of the soggy under cooked ones I always get

  • -4

Awwww ye show me how they grow them hormone filled chickens

  • So the employee was right. I asked when the next Open Kitchen was back in Feb and said it was this date :P. Glad I prebooked weeks in advance :)

    • Quarter year in advance? damn what lol

      • yea promos are planned up to years in advance. Get to know your local store manager and they will be nice enough to tell you upcoming promos in advance :)

  • I registered and ticked the box that said I'd like to bring a guest. But the confirmation email didn't mention anything about bringing a guest. Is it still OK to bring a guest?

  • Best tour ever. Was given a free two piece feed. Do maccas do something similar?

    • +2

At the store i went to the manager allowed us to order whatever we wanted lol. Everyone ordered a boxed meal. Even asked if I wanted to upsize. Unfortunately I had eaten breakfast :(

      • Should have taken it anyway, and saved it for later!

        • Yeah I would have ordered the biggest grease bucket of chicken

  • +5

At my tour, someone was with their gf for a date lol

  • +1

I was almost rejected from joining when the assistant manager said i need to wear safety shoe. But i told him otherwise by showing him the email. I only need to wear cover shoe.

Overall the tour was a nice experience. The crew members this morning were fanatastic, and only half of the guests turned up for the tour. What a waste.
