  • Bought an item with my iPhone using the eBay app, pressed payment options and received a "NO YOU CAN'T PAY WITH YOUR PHONE" or something like that.

Contacted ebay live help an hour after happy hour when I could get onto a computer and was told
"Now, I have taken notes on your User ID and the item number. All you need to do is pay the item using a computer and I will be the one to credit the amount on your PayPal account. Expect that to be on Oct. 15."

So it was okay to pay after the happy hour not on your mobile. Just use live help first.

Not sure why people were having issues.

Went to m.ebay.com.au, typed the item # in the search, buy it now, confirmed, clicked the pay now with paypal, logged in with paypal details, done. Took all of 2 minutes. N97 mini on 3

I bought a spindle of DL DVDs, something I was planning to buy anyway, so saved.

    • I wonder if you had to register for Mobile Paypal in the first place in order to be eligible. Maybe be a 1-3day delay for their systems to fully know you wish to use mobile paypal.

    • It seems some items don't accept "instant payments" or something.
After buying the item, people then found out they could not use their mobile to pay. (Those people may want to contact Paypal support and ask for help)

Others had problems with speed of their connection/browser.

Some had issues with their sellers.

Some had issues with not having internet browser capable mobile phones.

Some had issues that they did not have something they planned to buy.

There have also been conflicting directions published on the web.

Yeah, don't know what all the fuss is about.

Watch item on PC—>Android ebay app—>Follow prompts to PayPal—>Pay!

Nowhere in the T&C's said you have to pay with your mobile number and PIN.

    • Read back a few pages…

It was establish via Ebay help that you definitely do (probably there is contradictory info on this)have to pay with Paypal mobile on a pre-registerd phone number otherwise it will not be considered a normal, not a mobile payment = no refund.

      • term and condition are the rules. Ebay help people are no different from call centres and door 2 door people; as in they have no clue.

Mod edit: Removed unnecessary and unrelated comments on nationality.

  • i bought a halo reach limit edition for total $104 wait for the $50 cash back next month

  • Had to install ebay iphone app to purchase, as Safari wouldn't allow me to purchase. The iphone app asked for my credit card details so I couldn't buy anything.

  • -1

I chose credit card for funding source and dodgy paypal put it through as Bank account. Call centre was no help.

    dodgy, dodgy company

    • -1

I don't think you setup your payment options right

      • +1

Ahh your assumption is wrong. I changed the funding source to card from bank. Because they always default the damn thing to a bank account as they wish to avoid cc fees. Why would you neg, paypal are known for doing plenty of dodgy stuff and the customer service is a joke

        • +1

          agreed.

They are dodgy and always want to squeeze the last bit of money out of you.

They even used to have a warning when you changed funding from bank to credit card with all BS's about its not as secure, not covered by paypal protection..etc. I think it was removed due to consumer complaints.

        • -1

i didnt neg you, i just queried the setup for payment, as ive made the mistake of using the wrong account before. As for the negs, get used to them, if your like me, you even get remembered by some people and they neg as many of your comments as they can

    • I had that happen to me once.

But the result was worse. My bank account didn't have funds in it at the time and I directed them to use my credit card.

I was using a promotion voucher from eBay or Paypal too, to get free shipping.

Then they knocked back the payment; I still had to pay for the item but now I had to pay for both the item and the shipping.

      :S

I tried contacting Paypal to sort it out. They were slow to respond and did not assist me at all :(

      • same with me, and coupled with a direct debit, i copped a overdraft fee

      • Yeah, be careful with the confirmation after changing funding sources. You may need to click the grey "Cancel" button to confirm the change to credit card, read the wording. Double check the final screen that payment source was indeed changed.

While legal very disappointing to see an AFSL intentionally misleading customers. I removed my bank funding source to avoid confusion.

        • but if you remove your bank account. doesnt the paypal acct become unverified or does that not affect aussies anyway as we cant be verified?

  • +1

Too easy, used the eBay app on my iPhone and paid for it super quick.
    Waiting on the cashback now.

  • so did we have to pay within that time frame? or are we allowed 3 days?

    • Did you pay in the time frame?

      The question's been asked before.

You might want to dig in the thread or read the terms and conditions

      • yes i paid for it in the time frame(12-1pm) but i haven't had the chance of depositing sufficient funds into my bank account yet.

If clicking the Pay Now button and going past through those steps is paying for it then yes I have "paid" for it

        • You bank might honor the transaction and charge you an honor fee.

  • Did it via my iPhone, and all went OK,
just checked Paypal and it says on the transaction details

Mobile Payment Sent (Unique Transaction ID #XXXXX)

So i'm assuming all good !

Anyone in doubt - Check your Paypal Transaction Details.

  • For those who bought the $100 VISA gift card (+ $4 postage):

    Dear Buyer

During today's eBay/PayPal Mobile Happy Hour, I listed a PrePaid $100 Visa Card for $100-$110. You are one of the 44 people that chose to purchase the card.

I am sure you bought is because the card can basically be used as cash, which it can.

Some of you asked me why I listed them at face value. The reason was that Australia Post had a promotion (which ended today) where purchasing a PrePaid Visa $100 card allowed me to buy a iTunes Music Card at 50% off. So I thought I can make some money on these while at the same time help others get the $50 cashback from PayPal.

Unfortunately, I made a wrong assumption and also forgot about some fees.

I assumed that I could buy any one of the PrePaid Visa cards at Australia Post. But it turns out I could only buy the official "Only 1" Visa branded cards, which at valid only until 02/2011. Which is about 4 months. This should not be a problem for most, as it is only $100. However, what is a problem is that there is an Activation Fee of $5.95 for each card.

This is a summary of the fees I have to pay for this item:

    Visa Activation Fee = $5.95
eBay Final Value Fee = $4.90

    PayPal Fee = $3.09
    Total Fees = $13.94

Now, I am a human being like all of you. I made a mistake due to the time constraints. I propose to solve this problem in either of two ways:

    1. I issue a full PayPal refund and then cancel the transaction on eBay: nobody gains anything as PayPal will not pay you the $50 cashback because the transaction did not proceed.

    2. I make a payment (using the Send Money function) of $114 OR $104 - $13.95 - $6 = $94.05 OR $84.05 corresponding to how much you paid. The $6 is for the time I have spent today (all day to tell you the truth). THIS MEANS YOU GET AN EFFECTIVE $30.05 CASHBACK FROM PAYPAL, a win-win situation as according to PayPal and eBay, the transaction still went ahead (they got their fees, that is all they care about). You will NOT be charged any fees by PayPal as I will be sending the payment from my PayPal balance (PayPal Balance->PayPal Balance = no fees). You can then transfer the funds back to you bank account or use it to buy whatever you want, when you want to (alternatively, I can transfer directly to your bank account using EFT if that is what you want - just let me know)

If you really have to make me proceed with the transaction, then I guess I have obey. But please have mercy and choose Option 2 if possible, we are all humans after all.

    Apologies and Regards

I just got this email - thoughts?

      lol

What a git. Are you all expected to just ignore the fact that this turkey is getting 44 iTunes cards at half price? (presumably to on-sell on eBay too)

Dude needs to suck it up and wear these minor unforseen costs. (and they aren't really unforseen)

And actually, assuming its this guy http://myworld.ebay.com.au/richardwallace1977/
I only see 6 completed listings for visa cards.

The $6 is for the time I have spent today

      lol, again

      • +1

        Totally agreed. My reply went something like this;
I still want to proceed with this transaction. I put my time into trying to work out how this whole happyhour thing works, and I decided to choose yours among several others. Since your purchasing the 50% iTunes cards as well, if you buy a $100 iTunes card, you're effectively saving $50. That easily covers the cost of fees cost + $6 for your time.

      • Nah its this guy:
        http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150497…

And yeah, if I let him refund, I lose out entirely on this promo, and if I let him do his weird way of doing it, I basically let him jib eBay's promotion and I lose out on $20.

Gonna press for what I bought.

edit: What's really rich about it is that as you said, he has the iTunes card and is currently selling them on too:
        http://cgi.ebay.com.au/APPLE-ITUNES-MUSIC-CARD-100-20-OFF-RR…

        • Love how he still charges the "VISA activation fee" even though his way of you doing it, doesn't involve him having to buy a VISA card at all.

        • See, he's already got the itunes cards listed.

What a dodgy pr1ck. I hope you guys give bad feedback once this is over. Any more negs and hes gonna get banned. 93.8% is the lowest I've ever seen on an active account.

          • @stumo: I'm pretty sure he hasn't even bought any visa gift cards nor itunes cards!

I have a feeling they wont let him buy 44 itunes cards at 50% off, prob 1 per customer lol!

            • @neosin: lol, someone should buy the 44 iTunes cards then, to make sure he does have to get the visas. Then the visa buyers will be in a far better position. Becasue like you say, he won't have actually bought any today.

              • @stumo: i also doubt any store would have 5k worth of itunes and visa cards for sale lol!

        • I can't get over the fact he still cuts himself a $6 profit on top of everything else!! extraordinary!

I'm not familiar with these visa gift cards….is he able to get a refund if people decide not to go ahead? Now that the promo is over, he certainly isn't going to get $105 each for the cards if he re-lists them, so he should just cut his losses now, and proceed with the transaction as promised.

I'd hold your ground with him.

If so, his feedback indicates he's a recidivist when it comes to cancelling auctions at his own discretion.

Is he now proposing I need to pay the $5.95 activation fee?
In the listing it says they expire 2012, and there's no mention of an activation fee.
Now he's trying to change them to 4 months expiry + fee?

            • @Adamiam: Sounds like you are dealing with a child, or someone with a questionable intellect.

"If you really have to make me proceed with the transaction, then I guess I have obey......"

This seems to indicate he will proceed with the initial offer?

              • @ash2000: Of course he will proceed, he's not loosing any money, he's just not making as much as he thought! And trying to con more of your money out of you. polkadots610 idea is the best, man that's so sneaky, though at times like this, karma needs a helping hand.

            • +2

@Adamiam: I think this seller is kinda dumb? If I were a dishonest buyer, I will just take option 2. Then later on, open a Item Not Received dispute. If he doesn't send it, I can get the $$ back. GOSH. Does he not know people can do that??

              • @polkadots610: This is the best idea! nice.

I hope at least one of you do this, to teach the dude a lesson he won't forget. I'd do it myself if I had of bought one - and assuming he didn't live down the road!

                • @stumo: Try to save $13.99 and end up losing $101.01 OR $90.01 . If it happens, the seller only has himself to blame. Way too greedy.

            • @Adamiam: Below is that latest version of the email sent to all the buyers. For those that have accused me of lying. I have purchased 30 pairs of the cards. the Post Shop people told me the offer ended today. You can go past a post shop tomorrow and see if you can get them if you don't believe me, there are post offices everywhere. Yes I have been an idiot (and the confusing promotion details for both PayPal and Aust Post did not help), Yes have spent the day sorting out obtaining the cards, and Yes I am trying to minimise losses for everyone including myself (as it stands now - some people will lose $6 while others will gain $1). I will keep negotiating and communicating with all the buyers until everyone is satisfied (do the sums properly and you will see I only just scrape by):

IT HAS JUST BEEN POINTED OUT THAT, FOR THOSE THAT HAVE PAID $114, YOU WILL GET $101.50 FROM ME, THEN STILL GET $50 FROM PAYPAL - THAT MEANS YOU ACTUALLY GET $1 MORE THAN IF YOU HAD RECEIVED THE CARD - HOW IS THAT!!!

FOR THOSE THAT PAID $104 - YOU GET BACK $90.01 FROM ME AND $50 FROM PAYPAL - SO YOU GET AN EFFECTIVE CASHBACK ON $40.01, WHICH IS ONLY $6 LESS THAN WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE GOT WITH THE CARD (DUE TO THE FACT YOU WOULD HAVE PAID $4 POSTAGE), NOT $30 OR $36 AS ORIGINALLY PROPOSED - I APOLOGISE FOR THE POOR MATHS!!!

I HAVE ALREADY EFT REFUNDED 1 BUYER AND AGREED TO PROCEED WITH THE TRANSACTION AND SEND THE CARD TO 2 OTHERS - I HONOUR WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN AND WILL PROCEED AS AGREED

PLEASE FIND REVISED (REV 3.0!) MESSAGE TO EVERYONE BELOW, THANKS TO THOSE THAT HAVE REPLIED TO POINT OUT THE ERROR IN MY CALCULATIONS! YOU NOW GET $40 CASHBACK EFFECTIVELY

              • @bohan: bohan, whilst I understand the big picture of your scheme, you run a high risk of losing everything. Passing on selling fees to the buyers is not allowed and if someone does complain they could suspend your Paypal/EBAY account. I've dealt with suspended sellers and Paypal almost always credits the buyers. So if you are Paypaling users in separate transactions you might ending up losing the partial payment back to the buyer and a refund.

Just a warning. Seen it happen. I would just refund everyone, wear the negative feedback and move on. It only takes a couple of buyers to kick up a stink and get your account suspended.

        • Here's the reply;
Because you are angry and it is my fault, I will send you the card as promised in the listing. The card will be send out either tomorrow or on Monday. Please do you leave negative feedback.

I will send you the tracking number as soon as it is sent

Now, unless that card has a 2012 expiry, it won't be matching the listing. Anyway we'll see.

          • -1

@JR63: no one will get their card! he will have plenty of neg feedback soon and be banned from ebay!

I can guarantee he doesn't even have the cards atm!

he would have planned to use the money from the auction to buy the cards then send it out. But yeh I have a feeling any store will tell him limit of 1 per customer at 50% or something lol!

            • @neosin: Lol yeah probably. I'm still pushing to get it though. He could be in a lot of s*** if people start doing what polkadots stated above.

              • @JR63: Yeah thinking about it, you may as well do a polkadots on him, at least the initial step of accepting the payment. At least then you will get your fiddy on the 15th. Then by that time dudes gonna be banned from eBay, so your item not received will go through straight away.

                Now that's what I call a win-win!

Otherwise if you wait it out, you probably won't get anything except a refund. And you will loose your fiddy from payBay :(

                • @stumo: Btw JasRulz63, I got the exact same response haha..
I think he may have at least some cards.. the promotion (according to him) ended today so he couldnt buy them after today anyway..

                  • @Adamiam: Some of the buyers can actually try to teach this guy a lesson. Open an INR after you receive his "refund". Let him panic. But if you aren't dishonest, then close the dispute after a few days. I learnt this from the ebay discussion boards btw(: Haven't tried it myself though..

                  • @Adamiam: Let's hope he sends them now aye! I'll be back here once I get my tracking number, make sure he isn't giving everyone the same tracking number too.

                  • @Adamiam:

I think he may have at least some cards.. the promotion (according to him) ended today so he couldn't buy them after today anyway..

According to Australia Post catalogue, the promo runs until Sunday (26th), so he could still buy them from a Westfield (etc) post shop tomorrow. He's full of BS, as we all suspect.

                    http://www.lasoo.com.au/offer/itunes-gift-card/4js82q778.htm…

                    • @ash2000: When I was at Aust Post outlet, they told me it was finishing on Friday.
I have receipts that prove I paid $105.95 for each card (and that I have 30, for that matter). I can send you one of the receipts. I believe the fact I am selling the iTunes $50 cards for $42.50 is saving some people money, since they can no longer get them for $25 + $5.95 = $31 (Visa "Activation Fee" - its on the card packaging - just go to a post office and check it out for yourself). Remember seller pays ebay/paypal 8%, and also that making listings on eBay's buggy website is a chore.

                • @stumo: I think Jas went for option 0 and I like that :)

Jas keeps his original deal. (Jas'll want to keep a close on that transaction and the delivery)

Jas hasn't breached any of the rules and is not shown to be guilty of any wrong doing etc.

Jas is free to report on any wrong doing afterwards.

Jas can still leave negative feedback if he wants.

Jas doesn't give the guy/girl leverage over Jas.

Question: If a person sends you money via a transfer, can the person tell Paypal there was a mistake and later get the money back?

Option 2 requires trusting someone doing something suspicious AND getting involved in a solution along with them.

                  • @SomeGuyOnOzB: Option 3: do a polkadots on his a$$.

                  • @SomeGuyOnOzB: To answer your question, basically no, unless somehow he gains buyer protection (unlikely), then you need to show proof of delivery.

HOWEVER, if they paid with a stolen credit card, you have no protection either against a charge back.

            • @neosin: May I have your email so I can send you a scan on the receipt and the cards? Would you then edit you post or write another post acknowledging that I am not a fraudster?

    • .

    • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

      OMG!!!

Lucky i didn't buy it! I would have if i didn't already buy 2 hard drives!

      lol! U poor 44 people!!!

      • I can send you some evidence to calm you down, would that be good? No buyer would lose more than $6, some will gain $1. I have already paid 6 and everyone will still get their $50 cashback. I should have listed at $110 + $4 post to begin with but the timing of this promotion made for some regrettable and rash decisions. I am working out the best solution for all involved. If you have ever sold on ebay you would know for a fact that 8% of final price gets shaved off by ebay+paypal fees (and they should get fees - they have to maintain the servers)

    • Visa Prepaid Buyers:

I have been asked to explain the result more clearly - so here is an attempt (there has been many inaccuracies in previous emails - many buyers have pointed them out):

FOR $104 PAYERS ONLY ($114 PAYERS READ SECOND PARAGRAPH):

Originally: You paid $104. Had you received the prepaid Visa card, you would have had $100 in hand, plus $50 cash back from PayPal: that is -104+100+50 = $46 effective cashback.
Now: You paid $104, I pay you $90.01, PayPal still pays you $50. So you get: -104+90.01+50 = $40.01 effective cashback, so you lose $6 because I messed up (sorry…)

FOR $114 PAYERS ONLY ($104 PAYERS READ ABOVE PARAGRAPH):

Originally: You paid $114. Had you received the prepaid Visa card, you would have had $100 in hand, plus $50 cash back from PayPal: that is -114+100+50 = $36 effective cashback.
Now: You paid $114, I pay you $101.01, PayPal still pays you $50. So you get: -114+101.01+50 = $37.01 effective cashback, which is $1 better than what you got if you received the card!

      Please point out any inaccuracies

What's up with the refund? JUST SEND PEOPLE WHAT THEY PAID FOR!

      • Here's his email sent this morning;

Having spent a night on OzBargain trying to repair my reputation, I've come to realise that I have been that good an eBayer. The problems have always been the the damn promotions - the famous 99c listings that often ended in extremely low prices. Admitedly, I have cancelled many such transactions in the past, have never trully understood the gravity of those actions, until today. This sale happens happens to be a turning point for me as an eBayer because, for the first time, there is a potential for actual financial harm to the buyer. You have all purchased these Visa cards because they were the closest to cash listed yesterday. You have all spent considerable time and effort navigating the difficult mechanisms of mobile eBay and PayPal, and you all deserve the full reward. The happiness of the 40+ of you matters more than that of my own.

I have decided to give all buyers the full $100 for your trouble. I hope this solves some of the animosity between us (I feel like a better person already).

As some of you already know from OzBargain, I have only 30 of the $100 PrePaid Visa Cards (ONLY 1 Visa branded with 02/2011 expiry). I have already paid 7 people using EFT (between $91 and $101 - I will make residual payments to all of you to get you to $100 or above). That leaves 35 buyers. I am hoping that some of you would consider taking the $100 cash direct deposited into you account instead of the card, for a few reasons:

        1. You can withdraw it as cash, for things you cannot use credit cards on.

        2. There is no expiry date on cash, so I would have fufilled the 2012 expire date in the listing.

        3. You will get the money faster (If I get the payment through this weekend you should be able to use the cash on Mon or Tue).

        4. It saves me $4 postage, which allows me to recoup some of the cost of doing all this.

I don't mind keeping the cards myself. If everyone wants EFT, that is fine with me.

A few users on OzBargain have accused me of profiting on the sales of these cards. In light of this annoucement I hope you would think otherwise, because eventough I made an enoumous ton of errors in all these stupidly confusing emails I sent yesterday, the $7.99 figure for the ebay+paypal fees are truth from the beginning, and I am bearing this cost, because I am think of you guys.

I have already paid for a bundle of registered post envelopes yesterday. They will probably arrive on either Mon or Tues, so all 30 cards should be out with tracking numbers sent to each buyer by Wednesday afternoon. 2 people have requested Express Post - which is trackable but not insured (registered comes with $100 cover) - I have never had issues with express or registered, so hopefully the trend continues.

So basically, you all have until Tues to decided whether you want to have the $100 in you account this weekend of get the card sent to you. If you want the card sent, there is nothing you need to do. If you want EFT, I need you BSB and account numbers.

        Regards

        Bohan

PS: If somebody could please post this on OzBargain, that would be great, because I have reached my limit of 5 posts for new users

        • I think I'll just take it by EFT and get it over and done with..

  • wtf is this mobile pin yous are all going on about?

I just used the eBay app on my Android, buyNow, then payNow button, login to paypal, paid. 5 second job.

like bf said above, check your paypal account, it will say
"Mobile Payment Sent (Unique Transaction ID #XXXXX)"
    and in my case…
    "Date: 24 Sep 2010"
    "Time: 12:11:13 AEST"

i have bad news for u!

      lol!

      U won't get the $50

u need to register and activate this thing called paypal mobile pin, if u didn't do that then ur screwed lol! It's been posted SEVERAL TIMES already :P

on the transaction details it has to say mobile transaction meaning you used ur mobile number and pin to login :P

      • +3

It says "Mobile Payment Sent" in the records in my account. In the Android paypal/ebay apps, the pin login is optional. The default option is to login with your email/pass.

payBay gonna have hell to pay if there's no fiddy in my account on the 15th I can tell you.

        • -1

          then ur fine omg! lol!

Scotty, u need to change the code! I can't edit my previous posts >_<

          • @neosin: The edit function gets removed once someone replies that post.

        • in the records of your paypal account?

        • +1

Yes, the mobile number/pin setup is to make it easier for people to sign in with a numeric keypad. It was not a condition of the promotion that this method had to be used.

          • @ash2000: okay so i paid via WiFi over an iPod touch, will be able to add funds into my bank account tommorow to pay for the item(meaning only paying tommorow but have already clicked the pay now button etc) and bought an item from ebay int'l. Will the transaction go smoothly?

          • @ash2000: oh man i used the pin to pay but my paypal doesnt say anything about paid using mobile?

            • @furythree: mine says mobile payment sent etc

            • @furythree: When you log into Paypal, click on the Details of that transaction, the very first line tells you if you made a Web payment or a Mobile payment.

              Good luck finding it.

            • @furythree: check furythree.
I think this bit is really important in determining whether you get the $50 or not.
The “Mobile Payment Sent (Unique Transaction ID #XXXXX)” under Details of the transaction in your Paypal account.

            • @furythree: Hey I used an android, paid with Paypal & mobile & PIN but on my account did not say anything about mobile either. Try logging into Paypal and in the main menu, on the right hand side under "Notifications", check to see if there's an alert/lint to enable your Mobile Paypal. If so, click on it and follow the instructions. After you enable the mobile, your payments should be distinguished between normal payment and Mobile payments.

Failing that, contact ebay live help and they'll sort it out for you. HTHs!

  • ugh paypal on my windows phone did not work T_T

    • Contact PP.

I have already let them know there was a bug with windows mobile for some people.

      They replied:
      """""
Actually we are collecting information to all the eligible customers that did not successfully process the purchase using their mobile within the Happy Hour.

Kindly email us back with the amount of the payment and the item number so we can escalate this to the relevant department.

I apologise for the inconvenience and rest assured that we are working on a remedy.
      """""

Let them know you tried, it didnt work and ask how they want you to proceed to be eligible.

Note: the way i got it to work on windows mobile was go to m.paypal.com.au and log in. I got 1 or 2 messages about security certificates which i approved. Logged back into m.ebay.com.au and i could then pay.

lol nice i got halo reach for $69.95 delivered ($35 after cashback). the seller said its the australian release. got really worried when my mobile couldnt receive the wifi signal, ended up making a trip to McDonalds. paid using my email address, but i checked on paypal just then and for the transaction it says Mobile Payment Sent (Unique Transaction ID #..) should be fine then, and i'll be happily playing it early next wk =D

    • -2

      wtf

reach was selling for $84 at JB!

  • Anyone know the address of ebay australia nsw head office so we can riot them if we don't get our cashback? (:

  • This has been asked before but I can't find the original post anymore. I bought something but had issues with paying like many others have reported. So while I bought the item during happy hour it is still unpaid. If I pay for it now, would I still be eligible for cashback? I remember reading something about 3 days to pay but only for exceptional circumstances?

    • did you have the confirmation sms or email thing?

  • I got a confirmation SMS this morning but not email, although I don't think anybody got a confirmation email?

    • There's no confirmation email. The sms is only a reminder, not a confirmation. Even if you didn't receive the sms, you are still eligible.

  • Probably only ~500 of the 5000 actually got to purchase with the 50% off, call me a cynic but I think by design this promotion was meant to look great but be hard to fulfill.

  • What happens if you purchased and paid via mobile and was later refunded your paypal payment b/c it was the wrong address and then pay the amount again outside of happy hour?

    • you could have actually read this thread before you negged the deal

      • I've negged cos it a very complex and hard deal to actually ultimately get, if you get it at all. If I spent all the time that I spent trying to get this deal on saving money elseware I'm sure I could do better!

        • -5

          lol! that's u!

I spent under 1 min with buyitnow and paid via paypal on my iphone!

It's not their fault if you have a crappy phone

          • +2

@neosin: neosin - I wish I was as cool as you

    • Why did you go through the process of getting the payment refunded? I always thought you can just email the seller and tell him to delivery to the correct address. Thats it.

      • Yeah after paid, I realised it was the wrong address (as I had sent something to fam member last time) so I send an email to the seller to provide the updated address. Immediately they refunded the payment and sent and email saying they only took the paypal specified address. Of course I did not get the email until hours later which really pi$$ed me off. However, since reading the terms it does not say anything about refunds, so fingers crossed I still meet all the requirements (ultimately the whole transaction still went through) but just a little worried.
