Think you're a little to old to be that insecure mate.

    • +7

One day you might be able to get a nice car….. just keep saving!

    • +6

Not everyone is a soccer mum/dad & needs an oversized SUV. Fantastic car for the price! Not much else comes close in regards to styling / performance within this price bracket.

    • Mid life crisis cars are more along the lines of exotics, if one cant afford it, usually an old two seater german car would be the weapon of choice.

    • +1

I screwed up and had mine already. I'm stuffed now! Best I can have as a 2nd midlife crisis is reliving my love for console games. (I'm only 41 btw - but had my 350z at 33)

    • Don't worry, I'm not even 30 have already had a relatively cheap midlife crisis (Audi A3 quattro).
But it wasn't exactly normal circumstances that brought it on.

    • +3

That is not a valid reason to neg the deal.

  • +42

    anything closer to $80k?
I need a high yield investment and to look good for my banking job.

    • +11

I can sell you one for $80k if you want?

    • +1

This car is perfect for your CBA banking job.

At just under $50, it is the perfect way to dodge their money laundering threshold.

  • +14

    THanks OP. Bought 10.

    • only 10?

    • +7

      You gonna Broden it

  • +6

I remember these were going for 65-70k when it was first released. Guess the 86/brz and other hot hatches in the market killed this segment now. Still a great car if you only need a seater car. Lots of fun and burns through your license point if you are not careful.

    • +17

86 & brz aren't in the same league as the 370Z please.

      • +21

        had a 370z, have a 86 now,
        370z it's like driving a fat missile
86 it's like being a mosquito, still fun though

        • +11

mx-5 is like flies then ?

        • +1

@phunkydude: flies with really cool long hair…

        • +1

          best ask your hair dresser..

        • +1

          WRX > All ;)

        • +1

          "driving a fat missile"

You have been driving my pants I see, good show sir.

        • +4

@montorola: absolutely! Love my MY16 STi

        • +1

          @RainDrop:

Well done! I love the mean face of the current generation wrx!

        • +4

          @montorola:
Agreed! Was gonna get the 86 but did a U turn and got a wrx :D

        • +3

          @RainDrop:

How are you not cured yet? Seen a doc?

        • +2

@zeomega: he's been generous, giving out a bunch of MY17 STIs

      • +3

Yeah true, can't compare a 2.0lt 4 pot to the massive 3.7lt V6 engine. No contest for sure. Im just referring the 86/brzbeing the cheapest RWD car in the market. Back then, to get a RWD you have to fork out a minimum of 45k for an MX-5/Miata just for the base model. The sports car market is very competitive now and i'm not complaining at all.

        • I own Miate ND for 30000 as demo, brand new is around 35k for 1.5L base model

      • +2

86 and BRZ are much better driver's cars. Every review agrees.

In the UK, the 86 was £25k and 370z was £30k, so not much difference.

Toyota Australia sells 86s at a very sharp price.

The 370Z is much faster than 86.

      • Depends on what you want from your driving experience. Personally I'd go a slightly second hand BRZ and the Cosworth Stage 2 and use the left over 15-20K for track days and tyres. That extra speed is only good in a straight line

// Edit. The comments in post are brilliant

    • mx-5 still costs more than this

      • But it doesn't?

      • Base model mx-5 is more than the base model 370z? ah, no.

    • Think mustang mate. 86/BRZ aren't what killed this segment, this segment doesn't exist, powerful gran tourers. You have to spend a lot more money to get an equiv car. 86/brz are in comparison to MX5's which have been killing the sub $50 sport car market for a long time. Hot hatches are family cars with turbos so can't compare the market for them either.

  • +1

This is just the new RRP, not a deal but normal price.

  • +28

Can I price match at Officeworks?

    • +11

      Don't put yourself down mate.

    • So… most of Europe then?

    • +8

      Real men drive Manual cars.

    • Far out imagine what that says about since you can only walk everywhere.

    • +3

I'm sure the girls are impressed by your automatic driving skills

      • A lady attracted by the allure of your ability to manoeuvre a gear stick must be a real catch?

    • If it's not a manual you're only steering, not "driving"..

  • +6

Can it run on my eneloops?

  • Great find OP! Now let me go count my churchies..

  • +12

50k for a brand new RWD 6cyl performance coupe is actually pretty good value.

    • +2

people say its due to the stang, I reckon Nissan is more worried out the Kia Stinger stealing sales when its released.

      • +5

Mmmm 3.3L twin turbo V6 Kia Stinger

  • +3

Hold on.. Is this even a bargain? Sounds like it's a new RRP nothing more?

    • +1

If the new RRP is $10,000 is it a bargain? Define bargain please.

      • +1

20% off RRP at a minimum!

    • exactly.

  • +8

Just got a few to sell on gumtree

    • How much above the RRP you selling it for

    • +1

$500 if you want it gone today mate

  • +1

Will this car going to blow like Murano?

    http://www.couriermail.com.au/technology/call-to-recall-suvs…

    • -1

No it will blow up like the samsung note 7 though.

    • +1

The Murano is like a vasectomy on wheels, so no.

  • +2

Good deal for a more than 9yrs model car

  • To be fair it seems like reasonable bang for buck.

Interesting that they do not publish 0-100 time for a "sports" car. It seems fairly powerful at first glance but on the other hand it weighs as much as a 6 cyl Commodore or Falcon and isn't much more powerful. Also does anyone actually want their car interior to look like a spaceship?

    Sorry if I offend anyone.

    • +2

The response and feedback of the 370Z would miles ahead of the Falcon and Commodore, making it much more of a driver's car than similar power/weight family sedans.

    • It's like saying a truck has more power than an F1 car so must be the same right?

      • Actually it's more like a taxi having the same power to weight ratio and the taxi has published actual 0-100 performance.

        Again sorry for the offence.

        • -2

Yes but the taxi drives, feels and looks like a taxi. No offense taken mate. And 0-100 performance figures matter not with sports cars untill you but the higher price brackets.

        • +2

          @OnlinePred:
That's what owners with poor figures say lol.

        • +3

@BartholemewH: their poor figures wouldn't fit in a sports car anyway :-)

  • +3

    Free shipping?

    • +1

Could be arranged for cost of return flight ;)

      • +2

Only on orders over $65,000. Bugger!

    • Dealer delivery is around $3-4k these days but is open to negotiation. LOL.

  • Been around for a long time, Nismo variant coming out but the design/platform must be 10 - 15 years old by now. Surely will be replaced very soon.

    • No, it'll be a slow dead for the Nissan sport car…

  • Wow pretty tempting. I'd assume they're facing stiff competition from the Mustang.

    • +2

I'd personally prefer the 5 star rated car as opposed to the 2 star one

      • +2

At the same time, I would prefer a V8 mustang over a 10 yo car…. I love the 370z, but that's going pretty far. Also do they need to redo safety test if not a new model? Otherwise the rating is from 10 years ago.

      • -1

2 stars cos it doesn't have stupid features like "lane assist"

Ancap ratings are pointless when it takes into account gimmicks and pass them off as necessary safety functions

        • +1

2 stars because driver's airbag didn't work properly during the test. Look it up.

        • @kinfungl: that's not the reason y it got 2 stars. I have looked it up. Btw

        • @Danstar: I think its rear seat safety issue and no seat belt pretensioner

          Edit : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU9ixQVwCRE

        • @udyz: Interesting video, but that guy is a douche

        • @Danstar: he is a massive douche… but entertaining

    • Mustang sales for the first half of this year are 5000 compared with 160 370Zs. So it's outselling it 30 to 1!

      • So, what you're saying is, buy the 370Z because every man and his dog has a Mustang…

        • How many 370z are in Australia ? Might be 5000 370s on the road when they drop another 10grand

  • +4

    I miss the 350Z.

    • +7

      I miss the 300ZX
