is the LG G6 is the latest from LG? wow.. latest model for sub $500 thats amazing. shame to you apple and samsung!!

    • +1

      uses an older processor though

      • +4

i see… but for these 4 features alone, apple will charge us $400 combined at least
        64GB Storage
        4GB RAM
        Dual Sim Cards
        Quick Charge 3.0

        • +2

          Apple tax suck.

      • +1

The SD821 is old? That's the same chipset used in the Pixel.

        • +5

it's not old, just not the latest. newer flagships are on SD835

        • +6

Too greedy to ask for 835 for a $475 phone shipped

      • +4

for a price difference of $300-400 I'd take this if I was in the market for a new phone :) normal users I doubt will see any performance difference

  • +1

It's such a pity that they reduced the screen size from 5.5" to 5.2", going from G4 to G5.

    • +4

Everytime I almost drop my OP3T I wish it had a 5.2" screen :P There's definitely a market for that size.

  • for battery life, which one is the best among three?

  • +2

Thanks Hamza23! Just bought one of the LG 6's. Looking for a good phone for a while sub $500 and missed the last deal. This one consistently comes in the top 4 of smartphone reviews. Might not be perfect but its $300 less than the rest. I rest my case melaud

  • +6

LG V20 for $396 is crazy. I love mine. Replaceable battery, MicroSD/dual-sim, Large screen, great camera, quad-dac with actual headphone jack.

    • -1

      specs say;-
      Non-removable Li-Po 3300 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0?

      • +1

t3chshopper is referring to the LG V20 (removable 3200 mAH), not the LG G6 (non removable 3300 mAh)

    • …and a plus vote?

      • Oops. Thanks for picking that up.

  • What's the g5 camera like compared to the mi 5s?

  • How is the seller for buying? I need a new phone.. stepped on my old samsung note 3.. delivery time is bit too long…

    • +3

many reviews for DWI. mostly okay - bear in mind when 1 got bad experience they will tell 100 friends but not the opposite. go to their own website google dwi, find the telephone number and call ask for confirmation they have stock then straight away click and checkout and pay.

delivery is fine for me. cant expect local time frame for overseas stock

    • +1

I ordered 3 phones in last 3 yr and never had any problem.

    • +1

Dad bought one before, took over a month to arrive. Had defect but was sent to their office here to get replacement but had to really justify and won't go easy

    • +5

Big time warranty dodgers. Please do not give your hard-earned to businesses like these.

      • +3

Currently dealing with DWI for a warranty claim and they are making me seriously regret purchasing through them. They are taking forever and want videos of the faults I'm describing with a faulty phone before progressing my claim. FFS just take the thing and do it yourself. I'm paying to send it back to them!

A shame - I've spent a few grand with them on a few DSLRs, lenses and smart phones. That'll be the last dollar they get from me.

    • +1

I bought a V20 from DWI last Thursday evening and it arrived on Monday morning. Was expecting a few weeks, not a few days.

A few fingerprints on the screen protector when it arrived. Phone is great, though. I got the pink one for $377.

      • Just wondering if the V20 came with headphones in the box?

        • +2

          Yep, came with B&O in-ear headphones :)

    • +5

I'm dealing with them for warranty now - not pretty. Especially if ordered through eBay. If you order from them, you had better hope you never have a problem with the product. Communication is extremely slow, days between messages. You will need to ship it to HK at your expense, wait 4+ weeks for phone to be reviewed. Their policy says replacement or refund, but when it comes to it they would only offer a used replacement and refused refund or store credit. In the end I accepted the used replacement. Arrived today and it is also faulty (different fault to my original). Now the game begins again…
I don't expect the best warranty support from grey importers, but even then I would put DWI in the list of poorer suppliers.

      • That is why I asked my friend to paid a bit more with qd_au

        • Agreed. Actually I gave up waiting for DWI a month ago after their poor support, and bought an LG G6 from qd_au. If/when I get a working phone from DWI I will give it to a friend.

        • @binary01: binary…. my buddy.. my pal.. my friend…. i hear you got an lg g6 you dont want. 😎

        • @xoom:
No, I'm loving my LG G6! The Nexus 6P that DWI are screwing me over will be going to another home though ;)
          Highly recommend the G6.

        • @binary01:

Will the G6 get hot during use like the G4? I think the heat is what caused the G4 bootloop

        • @superforever:
I haven't noticed any heat at all, but I'm not a super heavy user (I don't use it for games)

  • +1

I've got a Redmi Note 3 Pro Plus (Kate). It's getting to be a little over 12 months old now. It's done well but the camera frustrates me especially in low light. Would the G5 Plus be any better?

    • +4

I'm in the same boat. Just pulled the trigger for G6.

Still love my Redmi note 3 pro but the camera sucks.

G6 camera is not as good as galaxy s8 under low light, but still much better than others in the same price range.

      • Got any video? I saw one and it looked like the dynamic range was better, colour etc..

  • +4

Thanks OP, just bought a Motorola Moto G5 Hamza Edition.

  • Sorry for the stupid question. But are these considered "grey imports" and how are the warranty for the G5

    • Yeah grey import.

    • Warranty would be through DWI as they are grey imports.

  • Dang, G6 Platinum out of stock…for now.

    • They will come back in stock. Just be patient. few more days still to go for the sale.

  • Cheers OP!

  • Anyone else having problems with the code? Maybe I'm missing something here, but I go to checkout, put PINCH the Add Vouchers section and get a "This code can't be applied to your order." message.

    • +2

Do you have an Australian Paypal account? That is often the issue if the code doesn't work, it requires Australian Paypal account to be used.

      • Yes, I had to create one to use my Australian credit card…

        • +1

Do you have the same registered email address for both PayPal and eBay?

        • @Scab: No, is that an issue?

        • +2

          @gnrcampos:

Yes, you must have the same email address for both.

Here are the terms and conditions.

Number 13: Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay or PayPal) and be registered under the same email address.

        • +1

@Scab: Yep, you nailed it sir, thanks

        • @gnrcampos: What was your problem. For some reason, I cannot use the code on that item anymore. The sale is still on but doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas?

        • @rdhupar: My problem was that my paypal account used a different email than that of my ebay account

  • Is it worth $530 to get a dual sim Samsung S7? I see g6 cheapest price is out of stock. I want a nice camera phone, s7 looks in the top range. But it is a little bit old, I just want to know is it worth $530? Also dual sim is more convenient on android 7.0

    • +1

s7 great phone, water resist, great camera (exact gs8)

      • +1

Not the exact same as the S8. Same specs, different sensor, tweaks to post processing software. But yeah, the S7 is very comparable to the S8 and still one of the better camera's on a phone.

        • Which would you say has better low light? G6 or S7?

        • @TheOneWhoGotAway: I haven't used the G6 yet, but from everything I've seen and read, the S7 would be better in low light.

    • re: Dual Sim Card on the LG g6

"This unit is sold as a dual sim phone and a near flagship unit. But here is a flagship unit and you DO NOT GET 2 X SIM SLOTS and a MICRO SD slot. On this phone
you get, 2 slots. The 2nd slot you can only use the 2nd sim or the SD micro, not both at the same time."
      just read this on gizmodo.com.au

Anyone can confirm this? (I would have thought sim and sd are different reader??)

      • +1

Looks like a combo sim microsd slot.

The v20 has 2 sim slot and a seperate microsd slot.

        Source? I have one.

      • +4

        Yes. It's shared.

There are 2 slots in the tray, first slot is for SIM card and second slot for either another SIM or a MicroSD.

This shared SIM/MicroSD slot seems to be quite a common design for many dual SIM phones.

        • Yeah my huawei mate 7 is exactly like this. Second slot either sim card or microsd card.

  • Lol, G6 blue now out of stock too. DWI website has all colours in stock, so I guess stock should update on their eBay store shortly.

  • Where's the link to G5Plus 32GB grey?

  • ooh, G5 plus is temptingly tempting. Is it a big jump from my G3?

Too late, gold ones are all gone now as well. :)

    • +1

Edit: Thanks OP, got a G5 when they restocked. Did some spec-checks and it looks a fair bit improved over the G3.

  • Does anyone know whether LG V20 is dual 4G (primary) and 3G (secondary) or 2G (secondary)?

    • Yes 4G/3G

      4G + 3G on my V20 here.

      potplanty on 07/08/2017 - 10:19
Yes it supports 3G standby so your second SIM isn't wasted. I can even hot-swap between them inside the OS and even make the second SIM as the data SIM (on 4G nonetheless) while using my first SIM for calls/messages and vice versa. Very well made.

      • Thanks hamza!
You didn't respond to my comment earlier, but you did one better by reminding/bringing this deal !!

Just got one. Had to Google like mad to see which colour was the best option.
From the front the Black looks best, however from the back the black is the slipperiest and picks up most fingerprints.
From the back, the Platinum version looks like the best.

My Nexus 5X doesn't last very long on a busy day, and it gets a bit hot sometimes. And the screen is cracked.
So was looking for a decent upgrade.

Btw, what's a Blackberry fan doing with an Android device?!!?

        • +1

Haha sorry I had no idea when an eBay sale or anything would happen.

I don't have this device, or any device I post deals for (just do a some reading/listening), but BlackBerry devices all run Android now and have for a couple of years.

My BlackBerry KEYone is running Android 7.1. Upgraded from BlackBerry Priv android device.

        • @hamza23:
The Priv was nice, but I'm not a fan of the KeyOne.
In true Blackberry fashion, it has the rubbish keyboard…. I say this as I type with my fat fingers haha.

Always wanted a landscape qwerty like the HTC TouchPro, Nokia N97, Samsung Epic 4G… but they're either rare, or gimped in multiple forms.

          Thanks again.

  • +1

That illustrious G6 for under $500 which I keep failing to get…

    • +2

Best to setup a search alert

Go here and click 'create alert'

You should get an email within about 10 minutes that way when someone posts something for LG G6.

      • awesome. thanks for that!

  • Thanks for the info. Very tempted to get LG V20 but my only concern is the bootloop…

Perhaps spend more to get G6 since they seem to have fixed the boot loop issue?

    • +1

I don't have much experience in either phones, however yeah many might prefer paying a little extra to get the newer G6.

Some discussion here and also here. It seems that some prefer the LG V20 for the second screen and the removable battery, however if that's not important then the LG G6 seems the better option, a little extra for a newer phone/safer option.

  • +2

Both LG G6s are back in stock!!! Purchased!

  • +2
  • how do you know if sold out/order placed will be filled- motog5 plus gold still allowing purchase?

    • Looks like they are back in stock. Thanks I'll fix up the deal.

  • +2

The LG G6 Blue looks very good.

    • Here's a video with some footage of the New Marine Blue Color on the LG G6 / G6+, I agree it looks very nice :)

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n76urOUYEj0

      • +1

But LG I am a bit hesitate after helping my friend to fix her G4.

      • I am waiting for the G6+ to drop to $500 range, so I can try the B&O IEM~ (The blue one got me excited as I thought it's the new G6+)

  • Thanks OP, bought a G5 plus on behalf of my brother.

    • +4

Got g5 plus too. Not bad priced. Hopefully it's better than Redmi note 3 .

This way I can have a mini upgrade every 6-8 months. Instead of stuck with 1000 dollar phone for 2 years

  • +1

    Damn it….impulse buy… Forgot the cash rewards….
There goes my extra 4 bux

  • OP please put in to remind ozBargainer about cash rewards or equivalent sites to get extra back
