    • Didn't realise you had just posted lol steal my thunder next time!!

    • You'll find this one was posted a couple of months ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/313394
I remember getting one myself…will have to check out this one though and see if there's value in getting it also.

  • Also same price:
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-127-piece-drilling-and-dri…

18 less bits but this one is a drilling and driving set :D
Probably more like finding stock with this.

Keen to pick this up tomorrow morning, be nice if they had a store stock checker.

I have this set. It's very annoying to get the bits out of the way-too-tight clips. Be wary if these small inconveniences bother you.

  • Why can't they ever include a basic holesaw set in the drilling and driving set!

  • +23

This set is rubbish. I bought it the last deal and it's pretty much made from led. I think it even says so on the package. The bits just melt. Waste of money at any price.

I can confirm this, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

    • +5

Thanks mate, this is the kind of thing I'd have gone for just because of the "that might be handy one day" price point!

    • +2

It's because it's not the old Japanese Ryobi but the new Chinese Ryobi, a brand exclusively stocked by Bunnings.

      Thanks for the warning.

  • Is there anyway to buy online :-( Flying out tonight so can't pick up

    • +1

      You could post on airtasker

  • Are any of the pieces impact rated?

    • Unsure but considering the number of bits and the price I doubt it, also if the bits are as soft as lead, as has been suggested by a previous poster their unlikely to be impact rated.

    • No, not at all. They only last a few screws. And I'm pretty sure they are made of led. It mentions led on the packaging I'm pretty sure. I'll double check in the morning as the set is in the shed.

OK. I've had a lot of caffeine today. I really need to pick on this. You mean LEAD right? Not led.

        • haha… I haven't had enough caffeine today and only 4 hours sleep. Yes. I mean lead. If it contained an led it may be worth the price :P

  • These Titanium plated drill buts are good value less than $1 each
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-titanium-drill-bit-set-30-…

    • Titanium coating is good, better than HSS but Cobalt is the best IMO.

  • Bought it last time, budget kit and working pretty well.

  • Not impact rated si I would not use these - just takes one bit to break on you and you'l know about it. Windsor Gardens SA have about 12 if ya desperate

  • Seaford SA have about a dozen out the front of the Tool Shop on display… got one - bargain price, and I like the case they come in (and how most of the bits sit facing up, rather than clip in sideways). May be "cheap and nasty" bits, but good for basic DIY house crap.

  • They oxidise quickly

  • Isnt this normal price?

  • Got this today in Stafford, last one

Price came up for the normal price of ~$31

Told them "no, bad bunnings employee, get under the house!" and they changed it

  • Just got back from the Alexandria Bunnings and they have plenty in stock. Still comes up as $19.98.
