They are not exactly small, couldn't be that hard to find it if they were looking unless you have a drug dealer type hidden room.

        • +1

@tryagain: They didn't look around the house for it. They knew what they wanted and they knew where to find it. Won't go into all the details because I'd rather not reveal more for some level of discretion. I don't know any bikies to call on for protection. :)

        • @eyeballz2770: Fair enough, unless you have video footage of them going straight to the safe I think it would be near impossible to know whether they looked for it or not, even then, if it was, in a builtin robe in a bedroom etc then I wouldn't be surprised if they went straight too it. Understand you not wanting to go into details though.

        • @tryagain: tryagain tryagain.
If they looked around, you would know. They dont delicately open stuff, and tinker around, neatly put it all away as they found it.

Sounds to me like someone knew what they were after, even if not where it was. The idea nothing else was disturbed does not mean it had to be with cop help, but Jebus, are we still so stupidly naive that that nugget is hard to accept happens, frequently?

Cops are as often the school bullies as they are people who want to do good. Corruption is far more likely than not in a police force, and those that just want to do good, are subject to the thin blue line and whistleblowers arent looked after at all by the public, let alone the workplace.

        • @Tuba: Can and most likely does happen, that doesn't mean that there is anywhere near enough info here too in anyway accurately draw that conclusion. Gun safes are normally about the size of a person, you wouldn't exactly have to ransack a house to find it.

        • @tryagain: No, but if its not near the entry point, and first I know its there is when i see it, what was I doing until I did? Doing nothing but the gun safe, suggests they knew it was there.

They just start going through drawers and cupboards etc. You suggested it was impossible to know if they looked or not. Id argue common sense tells you the answer. Even in a criminal court its reasonable doubt, not so much proof blind Freddy cant deny it.

In the info given, they knew what they were after. Thats doesnt mean it was cops, could be friends/family, or acquaintances of friends/family that cant keep a secret

        • @Tuba: I am not suggesting that they didn't know there was gun(s) there, I know people who regularly shoot but keep quiet about it for this exact reason, sure the police might be the only people who had sighted the actual safe, but I am sure there is a much bigger circle who knew there were likely guns at the house. If they were specifically after them, there would be no need to fossick through draws etc, just go straight to the likely places one would hide a big safe, i.e. wardrobes, garage etc.

        • @tryagain: Yeah thats not what you said though. But it was what Ive said from the start.

          Ill quote you
@tryagain: Fair enough, unless you have video footage of them going straight to the safe I think it would be near impossible to know whether they looked for it or not…

If that only refers to inside info from cops, and it could, its not clear.

        • @Tuba: If you read the comments I was responding too I don't think you could miss interpret any of my comments which seems to be what has happened, I have been consistent the whole way through. If you erroneously read them in isolation then maybe that is where your confusion has come from.

        • @tryagain: No one on OzB takes responsibility for mininterpretation, Im not going to be the first.

          Good day to you.

          I said good day.

  • Do they ship to Sydney? Wondering if HPGS would price match.

    • They ship Aus wide. hPGS might not since they charge shipping and HPGS charges brokerage … Down here in Vic, unless it's a super deal, normally works out to be the same.

Shame they don't ship rounds. Otherwise HUGE savings when they have specials. Down here in Vic, our prices are nearly double… Kind of got a tri_opoly going on here… Shame

How do I block all posts relating to guns from appearing in my account?

    • Click the Hide Button, Hide deals from store Cleaverfirearms.com. This should cover the majority of these posts.

      See FAQ.

      block

You can also hide posts from certain users, NSFW posts and targeted deals.

      • +5

..and the ability to hide from neil! … plx no ban

      • +1

This question seems to pop up often enough that maybe the site should automatically attach something akin to a bootstrap alert to the bottom of all nsfw deals.

Would sit under the custom content and above the facebook/twitter links.

Here is a quick mock up of what I was thinking.

        https://imgur.com/a/IRvGO

        • provided that link deletes your account. Im in.

        • I prefer this.

We probably have too many things in the UI, so while that would be useful, we are aiming to declutter. I'll add a note to the bottom of this deal. Cheers.

        • @neil: yeah, I would have assumed it would be under the "related store" section and for the users, when you tap into their profiles

      • +6

Hello Neil, thanks for the tip. Just a question, if gun deals are okay, can I post deals for brothels on here or is sex inappropriate but guns are okay?

        • +12

If you don't like the posts maybe find another site to frequent instead of forcing your own childish views on everybody

        • +1

          …Do brothers have… deals?

        • +7

          If it's a legal brothel, I don't have a problem with it.

        • @addison8019:
Is my question to Neal invalid? Explain.

        • +6

@FunbagsOfSatan: Your question is facetious and leading, it's intended to draw parallels between two completely disparate topics. But sure, if your local brothel has some bargains like two-for-one or frisky-Friday try your luck and post them, they can only be deleted right?

        • @FunbagsOfSatan:
It is invalid because it is already stated clearly in the rules.

No posts on R18 content or links that will direct you to a site which requires 18+ to enter.

No rules on legal sales of guns.

        • +7

          @FunbagsOfSatan:

Human reproduction? in brothels? in the sex entertainment industry? Get your hand off it.

        • +2

@FunbagsOfSatan: I hope you don't plan on conceiving children in a brothel.

        • +4

          @FunbagsOfSatan:
Brothels are for reproduction and guns are to take out mamas.

(Attempts at crying "oversimplification" would be hypocritical at this stage)

Glad you got your bait out, a bite but not the fish you're looking for.

        • @tren: well depends on your technique and how "professional" the sex worker is. Can I post deals on porno on here instead? Great Blu-ray deals at the moment

        • Community members discussed this in the following thread: Should Firearm/Weapons Deals Be Disallowed?. I suggest you continue the conversation there.

          -Neil (not Neal)

        • +1

          @FunbagsOfSatan:

Mame is an arcade emulator BTW.

        • @neil:
          Thanks Neil

        • +1
        • @eyeballz2770: Well if it's an 18+ issue, then we have alcohol deals here…

If it's legality, then only legal ones.

If it's personal preference… Then we all doomed, since who's preference do we take?

And that's a good Q. Do they even have deals? Like: "Winter sale! Guarantee pointy or your money back!"

    • +17

      triggered. literally lol.

  • +1

I remember this one from counter strike!

    • Definitely not the M3 (Benelli), so was this something like the auto shotty? :o

  • +3

    …you can buy guns still?

    • Yes you can, although not like America we have strickt gun laws and control also licensing here is a good thing.

  • Anyone know what the future legality is regarding lever shotguns? I keep hearing conflicting things about them.

    • +3

I recoil the ban on the lever action 7 shot.

  • +1

    Great for show and tell!

    • +6

It's over 30,000 people killed in the US by guns annually. Sure it's less than vehicles but cars are used a lot more frequently and are regularly required for travel. Guns? not so much.

      • +2

To be clear, around two-thirds of those cases are suicides. Although the evidence shows that simply having a gun in the home increases the likelihood of a suicide. Surprisingly, it can be quite impulsive - rates dropped substantially when people stopped using ovens that could be used for the purpose.

        • Yeah, that's because of the ease factor. And also unsecured guns look a lot like toys to kids.

      • The US is a statistical anomaly for total gun deaths and gun homicides.

But yes, the 'x also kills' argument is not a complete argument.

    • +4

Of all the pro-gun arguments, this is the most ridiculous. The anti-gun argument in America is mainly focused on making it harder to obtain semi-automatic (which can essentially be legally converted to fully automatic) assault rifles, which are specifically designed for the purpose of killing people. If Toyota tried to sell a car that was specifically designed to be most efficient at murdering large quantities of people I'm pretty sure you would hear people calling for a ban.

    • A lot of people need cars. Very very few people need guns. Restricting gun ownership/use/access impacts a small number of people who have a legitimate use and keeps many people alive.

Not sure how car deaths are relevant.

    • +1

Erm, there's 33000 annual gun deaths in America. It's not thousands of times, it's almost comparable.

Goddamn it, there's too much stupid on this site today.

  • +5

    Any deals on guitars?

  • +4

Hey Cleetus, come have a look see at this here fire arm, that's a god damn good shootin', we gon be catching our supper for days! G'huk huk huk

  • +1

The reviews i've seen of this firearm show it to be crap.
If you want to make mince meat of your hand rather than your target, go for it.

  • -4

what a pathetic post. you've went out of your way to find this just to spark silly comments about a tragedy. Give yourself an uppercut.

    • +4

Calm down, Cleavers sent this out to their mailing DL yesterday. I doubt OP went searching for this.

      • +3

He's a troll, he Dont care.

      • -2

Noone cares what you think or doubt. Let's get that straight.

    • -2

      Stop being so sensitive.

  • -5

Why are people so upset about guns? More people die / are injured in road accidents in the US then by guns.. I think I don’t want to see anymore deals on cars!

    • +3

Yeah and what about peanuts? How many people die from allergies each year!

    • +3

Because people are instinctually poor at risk analysis.

  • -6

this should not have 47+ positive votes. Is the world gun crazy, including ozbargainers?

    • +8

      It's a great bargain.

    • +1

Are you denouncing plurality, inclusivity, tolerance and democracy?

      • +3

I'm all for democracy mate. I'm just concerned the top deal is a gun today. The world has fallen apart over the last few days for many many people and i'm saddened to see my favorite website is now also pro-guns (bargain or not…come on guys)

        • +3

Thank you for your concern, please step this way >

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/add/forum

        • +3

The world isn't falling apart, well no more than the week before. Unfortunately America has no real gun control and these things happen. Be thankful that we live in Country with sensible gun control. You really don't have a legitimate reason to neg this deal.

        • +3

Park your feelings somewhere else and only neg for a valid reason..better deal somewhere else etc.

        • +3

The western media has fallen apart over the last few days, I think the rest of the world is moving on quiet fine.

        • @Hayesy22: What separates the winners from the losers is how a person reacts to each new firearm bargain

        • +2

If you think the world fell apart in anything remotely statistically significant then you need to take the following courses:

          1, Statistics 101
2, Unconscious bias and cognitive bias 101.

Also, OzBargain isn't pro guns just because a bargain gun post has been posted. Ozbargain and its users are not the same thing.

        • @bonjovi: fair call

        • @jacross: again, fair call however i'm not sure if I've ever seen a firearm related bargain on here, the timing is on point. Apologies to those who i have offended on here by a neg vote. Didn't mean to start a frenzy of comments from my fellow bargain hunters about 'leave your feelings at the door, it's a legit bargain'. Admin please remove my neg vote so I don't offend anyone else please!

        • +1

          @enslaved07:

          I like you!

        • +1

          @jacross: finally someone likes me!

    • They're probably all farmers trying to protect their livestock.

  • Doesn't we need license to own these guns?

    • +2

      Yes.

    • +3

No, why would you need a license for a gun in Australia? Couldn't think of a reason why you would think that.

    • Yes we does

  • -2

    Whoa! Too early.

  • +3

I look forward to all the sensible comments which are about to follow purely discussing the efficacy of this product and whether or not it is a bargain.

    • +2

Won't happen when it's not a sensible deal post to begin with (you genuinely believe it wasn't deliberate after recent events?)

      • +6

The shop only put it on special yesterday and the deal would have been in the works for weeks. its the cheapest price I've ever seen on the Adler and worth posting.

        • so posted by someone who has never ever put a post regarding a gun store or any other item from Adler. Yeah ok mate that makes sense???? It's beyond pathetic.

        • so you cant post a deal on an item unless you have already posted a deal on the same item in the past. Yeah ok mate that makes sense

        • @Hayesy22: Lay off the pipe mate.

      • +8

My local store has this for $899 and can't even match this as it's under their cost. It's a bargain and there are loss of law abiding firearm owners in this country.

        • Lots of crazies here too and they all don't go around with a sign saying they're crazy.

  • +4

Simple solution guys if you dont like dont click on it. I wont go into the the details as nobody will be convinced of anything (on both sides) in written text as its an emotive subject. A great deal of bandwidth is wasted on the age old "Stop liking what I dont like" debate on various topics.
To the people asking legitimate questions on if people are really upvoting this; these shotguns are usually hovering just under $1000 at most places around Aus. There are many legitimate firearm owners here on OB that are used to having to pay high mark up prices for many years here in Aus and really do appreciate it when told of a deal even if they are not wanting to buy ATM.

  • +6

I am not anti gun. I am pro gun control. There is a difference.

    • If you are talking about the US I am 100% with you on the need for drastic reform. If you are talking about this gun here in Aus 100% against, not that I like this thing its just an emotive Sh$#tstorm of misinformation that is laughable from a factual perspective regardless of being pro or anti.

  • -6

Nice, Australia is such a tyranny nowdays that I am surprised the government allows anyone except themselves to use firearms to defend their interests.

    • Yeah right mod(s) my post is WAY more offtopic than the rest of the posts not actually discussing the deal listed.

      • Forget it. OZ bargain is saturated with left-wing social justice warriors.

  • GREAT deal, but not a real quality item

LOL at the early buyers who paid $900 and still want to get $750 for second hand,,,LOL
