  • What happens when they ban this gun model? Will they make us destroy it?

  • +10

I still don't understand how gun posts are allowed but sex toys aren't???

    • +1

Dont disrepair Patty Im sure they will change the policy on sex toys if you plead your case.

    • +2

Hey if you find a good price on a choice dildo I'm sure you can find a way to share it with the world, if it's that important to you

    • +1

That's actually a good point. Why aren't sex toys allowed?

    • Feedback in comment section would be hilarious

  • +4

Wow. Is there an award for the most inappropriate post for the day?

Thanks for the instructions on how to permanently hide these "deals". Activated.

    • Good, means that I won't have to see your comments and anyone elses on these gun posts in the future. Thanks!

  • +1

Quickest way to Boulder City is to shoot down through Vegas.

Hiyooo, its like shooting fish in a barrel.

    • +1

Yes, firearms, if you don't like it, move on cheapo

    • Can you show me exactly how your neg vote follows the guidelines?

Hurt feelings is not a valid reason.

      • -6

        Major issues with retailer.
This kind of products should only be offered to qualified audience.

        • +2

          What's the major issue?

        • +3

"qualified audience", so people with a firearms licence, right?

        • +2

@nurries: So I can neg the Costco deals that require a membership ?

        • +3

          @perksie89:

According to cheapo999, yes you can. Since apparently if you're not a "qualified audience" then you're allowed to neg the deal.

        • They are only offered to a qualified audience. You need to be qualified to purchase. Plenty of deals here are targeted or only available to a certain cohort.

    • -1

I think the collective noun for the left should be a 'faux surprise' of them.

  • this will come in handy coming into summer to keep those pesky mosquitoes at bay

    • +1

I don't think that's what you use it for… Maybe delicious duck mosquitoes? :D

  • +1

It's a bargain. Much cheaper than what I paid
    .

  • I love guns. But this is a rubbish gun, seriously we've seen enough Adler shotgun deals.

    • +5

The Adler shotgun has been a political hot potato over the past few years. There's a good reason why Adler deals keep popping up here, and not say, something from Remington. It's a dog whistle bargain.

      • It's because lever action shotguns are legal here right? And pump actions are not?

        • Lever action is Cat A, Pump action is Cat C, all legal.

    • Why are they rubbish? Can you recommend a better lever action in the same price range?

      • +2

You're probably better off with a double barrel for most applications imo

  • +4

Is there a deal on anti-psychotic medication if you buy the shotgun?

    • +11

      Your ignorance is amusing.

      • +2

Well, the voices are commanding me to buy this shotgun and I keep going broke buying stuff

        • +3

          the voices are commanding me….

That comment alone will stop you from getting a weapons license.

        • +4

@nocure: Not if they tell him not to say anything.

    • So everyone that owns firearms is psychotic?

  • +10

All those negging the deal, you know you can comment without negging?

OzBargain is about bargains, not political rubbish. If you want everything that offends your sensibilities to be sensored, please go be a tyrant in a destitute frozen wasteland.

If we want to start sensoring offensive goods, let's disallow all products built in sweatshops, you know, on the count of recent and ongoing child exploitation. Let's ban all products affiliated with Israelis and Palestinians, and all involved parties as we are indirectly funding that conflict.

I am anti gun but jeez, the level of BS here needs to be shot.

    • -3

No you can't comment without negging. Just look at my previous comments

      • +4

Ummm yes you can comment without negging.

Look, I'm doing it right now!

      • +1

I don't mean the neg on the side of your name. I mean the fact that you negged a potentially good bargain based on recent events.

Voting is based on the merit of
        1. price
        2. Condition of sale (grey imports vs local stock, and warranty).
        3. Shipping times
        4. To a much lesser extent, the reputation of the seller or the goods.

        NOT recent events.

One would imagine this is a simple concept but oh my goodness… Oh lordy lordy lordy…

        • +1

Fkn facepalm… he/she means all the gun nuts are negging all of his/her comments. The lack of cognitive ability in this comment thread is amusing, and telling.

    • +4

It's 2017, virtue signalling is so in right now.

      • underrated post! Oh toooooooooo true, this is number one reason that OB is my primary social media fix.

      • Virtue signalling is a meaningless catchphrase coined by US alt-right internet troll Stevan Molyneaux, to discredit opponents without having to engage with them on the facts.

Thought experiment; When people have pro-shooting bumper stickers, are they vice signalling? (No)

People generally take the positions they do, because its what they sincerely desire.

    • +3

I can't work out why people who aren't interested in these deals don't just ignore these posts or block them. Instead they jump on and moan about us being insensitive.

There wasn't a recent shooting the last time someone posted an adler deal and the same thing happened.

What happened in the US is a tragedy and I'm glad our gun laws are nothing like theirs. The bump stocks that the shooter used a truly terrifying

  • -7

in light of recent events no gun deals should be published, whats next needles on sale….

    • +1

A needle sale would be very useful to a lot of people actually. Your ignorance as to the cost of needles is pretty offensive. Far more offensive than someone posting a gun deal.

  • +6

I am sorry that you feel it an inappropriate listing guys but please be aware that that is your own perspective to link the two. Please be aware that many people see firearms as just another tool here in Aus and the linking of this lever action shotgun to the events in the US would be a bizarre conclusion to many. You are free to make your own conclusions obviously but please be aware that not everyone feels the same way and that the people who upvote this are in no way doing it to spite people that may have a different perspective.

    • +3

      Youre wrong.
I upvoted because I hate country music. It offends me.

  • +2

This post is insensitive given the recent unfortunate event.

  • -8

Why would anyone need an automatic weapon in Australia? They only have one purpose, killing.

    • +8

      This isn't an automatic weapon.

      • +3

not sure what to say here….. short and simple answer= it is a simple lever action that has been in use since the mid 1800s

    • +1

      The adler is not automatic…

      • -5

It can easily be modified to fire 11 shots in 11 seconds, that makes it an automatic. You have no idea.

        • +4

Really? My Glock can shot 10 rounds in 10 seconds but it's not automatic.

        • +5

You have no idea I actually own one of these and the laws have been updated to restrict the magazines to 5

          Please stop spreading lies

        • +2

They better stop the sales of fertilizer because it can be modified to explode and fire 500 shrapnel with a simple phone call.

Maybe ban the sales of bananas too. The potassium decreases the tremors in the hands of people requiring high dexterity. These people with high dexterity could use their fingers to write, or worse still, finger paint their thoughts and emotions onto a signboard and it may critically trigger politically incorrect sentiments.

        • +1

@Imperial Fire: you can easily find magazine extension tubes for sale on google, you might want to buy one for more effective killing capability.

        • +5

This is comedy gold. You have reached tier 1 of misinformation mastery

        • +3

@tshow: you seem to be missing the point that guns are made for killing. That's the only thing that they do.

        • +3

          @zzymurgy:
          I'm a plinker, not a killer…

        • @zzymurgy:

Which is not illegal. It depends on the local laws and the category of license the shooter has.

Gun modifications should be completed by a licensed gunsmith.

People with illegally modified guns should be prosecuted.

        • +3

          @zzymurgy:
And OzBargain was made for bargains. That's the only thing that it does.

        • +4

@zzymurgy: I like shooting clay targets. Does this concern you?

        • +8

          @perksie89:

          Yes, my name is Clay…

        • @tshow: I never liked Bananas anyway but I do enjoy the remaining rights and privacy we have.

        • +4

The stupid is strong in this one! Lever action never has been or can be automatic.

        • @OzBragain:
Battery operated lever operator add on. I am sure Xiao mi makes one.

        • Really? Or did you just make this up? A few minutes on Google will show you how an automatic weapon works, and educate you on how this lever action shotgun is not an automatic weapon.

<Source: University lever education, and I own one.>

        • @nocure: Your ignorance is beyond belief.

        • +1

Rate of fire does not determine if a firearm is automatic. Be careful when telling people they have no idea if you are going to make incorrect statements like this.

        • +2

what makes an automatic firearm is that it continuously fires rounds as long as the trigger is pressed or held

        • +1

          @Hayesy22:
Sorry, typo - I have corrected now thanks.

        • @me3: all good, ill change my statement

    • +1

Interesting but irrelevant question as the deal in question isn't an automatic weapon.

  • +1

why don't y'all be satisfied with the NERF guns?

    • +3

Because they can be modified to fire 11 bullets in 11 seconds.

      • Modified? What about the belt fed Nerf gun? that doesn't need modification.

Never seen so much butthurt from both sides of an argument! Even the free “love is love” shirt deal didn’t have quite this much bitching. Chill the fk out, people.

    • +1

Give that thread some credit, it's sitting pretty at 15 pages of insanity over something that was free.

      • -1

A lot of actual discussion there though. Correct me if i’m wrong but i haven’t seen a single constructive to-and-fro in the comments here.

  • +8

Really poor taste considering recent events. This destroys the reputation of the seller in my view.

    • +4

I agree, all gun shops around the world should be closed for at least 2 weeks

      • +3

That would be offensive to victims of economic recession. Ceremonially closing shops at a time when brick and mortar shops have no choice but to close?

All propositions to close shops should be banned for at least 2 weeks.

        • +2

hmm we cant win. How do we protect 242gtr from being offended. He lost all respect for this small business for daring to remain open for business.

        • +1

The only thing we can do. Ban all protection for at least 2 weeks. In this case, I'm not sure how this helps but I'm sure by banning something, we are taking positive steps.

I'm not sure where those steps lead us either but that's clearly never bothered some of us.

        • @tshow:

Just get the ban stick out and worry about whatever later.

        • @stonkered:
You forgot, those sticks were banned. (See sex toy rule)

      • Hahahah, you can’t be serious? Yeah, let’s take away the livelihoods of thousands of people because, you know, you’re too sensitive.

  • You've all been flagged as terrorists, please hand in your drivers license and remaining rights.

    Australian government on point <3

  • This is my boomstick… probably the only reason I would buy a gun.. to cosplay random characters with said gun.. but with social media warriors here and there I would probably end up on the news if I posted any pictures online.

Also this is about the same price as a 55" 4k TV or GTX 1070 so no deal from me.

    Although it is tempting.

  • +1

It may be legal, but do we really need to help more guns get into the public and turn Australia from a nice place into the shithole that is America ?

    • Who should decide, and by what method? It's an interesting question of whose moral stance can dictate the abilities of others. I offer my voluntary subordination to anyone capable of elementary elliptic integrals or general analytical quintic roots and above.

      • Who should decide, and by what method?

I think Australia has already decided as a whole that the majority prefer less guns in the public, and the police do a fantastic job keeping Australia safe.

        • +2

I think you mean 'fewer'. The gun amnesty was/is for unregistered guns. Where did Australia as a whole decide? Unless you have proof to the contrary, the shop involved in this deal is a licenced gun dealer selling only to licenced buyers. Australia has never 'decided' the status of legal firearms as a whole. Was there a referendum or even a meaningless survey, or is that anecdotal?

        • +2

@Frugal Rock: Incorrect. The government banned particular weapons.

        • +1

          @Frugal Rock:

          I think you mean 'fewer'.

Wow thats your grand proof for your statements.. Want to complain about the colour of my tshirt ?

Where did Australia as a whole decide?

John Howard promised action and the Australian people voted him back in.

Unless you have proof to the contrary, the shop involved in this deal is a licenced gun dealer selling only to licenced buyers.

          &

The gun amnesty was/is for unregistered guns.

SO what if it was, the outcome was Australia now has less guns and less gun violence.

Australia has never 'decided' the status of legal firearms as a whole. Was there a referendum or even a meaningless survey, or is that anecdotal?

Actually they did a lot of people congratulated Howard for his actions. If the people hated his actions they would have voted him out the next election.

        • @Dont Care:
The government is a subset of Australia, but not the other way around. Do you honestly think that if Eric Abetz is against SSM, that the Yes campaign will accept that Australia as a whole is against it? Does Australia as a whole think politicians are overpaid, or should we just ask politicians?

        • @ninetyNineCents:

Actually, firearms related deaths were on the demise well before the introduction of the NFA, and they have dropped at the same rates as pre NFA each year. This is easily checked however it is summarised here:

@Frugal Rock: Not quite sure what point you're trying to make. Keep on track.
