  • Thanks. Just registered

    Sad I was not “targeted”

    • Apologies for my ignorance but where/how do you check/know whether such offers apply to your account/card?

      • +2

You can log in Amex account and check the offer tab. If you have a mobile app you can check there too

        • +1

Ah, do you get an Amex account login if you have a bank issue card? I think therein lies my confusion/ignorance, thanks.

  • +1

Can commonwealth bank issued amex get this?

  • Perfect to stack with eBay sales. Thanks OP.

    • +1

just spend $150 yesterday on ebay with my card which is eligible now…

      • +1

        Bad luck.

      • +1

perfect excuse to drop another 150

      • I spent over $200 yesterday :(
Oh well. A good excuse to buy a Chromecast Ultra now for $58.52.

Edit: Officeworks sold out on eBay. $61.60 now from Harvey Norman

  • Is there any Amex cards out there that doesn't charge annual fees?

    • AmEx Essential card

      • Thank you sir, this card can let me access to all their offers right? only minimal or no points benefit?

        • Seems not eligible with this card according to blueskyharvest.

        • @maogua:

Why don't you looking at the Explorer or Platinum Edge?

        • @nightelves: do they not require annual fee as well coz I have my usual card to go to, this is just a extra card for the amex offers. I don't want to have to pay annual fee just for that if there is an option.

        • +2

          @maogua:

I got the offer on an Essentials card

        • It has no annual fees, and is $1=1 point

        • It has quite a few benefits, details here.

        • @chromium: i dont get it, same card.. hmmm

  • Appears on my Qantas Discovery. No luck with the platinum edge.

    • +1

Appeared on my PE, not on my Explorer (linked to Paypal already).

      • Same here

  • +1

not on my AmEx Essential card

got the Cotton On offer and
the Totally Workwear Spend $100 or more, get $20 back

  • +1

Just a newbie question re this. Does. It have to be amex issued card? I recently received a CBA issued amex card, would I be eligible for these offers?

    • +2

I dont see it on my NAB Amex card, so properly same for CBA

    • +2

Yes targetted offers are normally on Amex issued cards. The ones where you can register using the manual are open to all Amex cards.

  • -1

Got it on 7 off my 10 cards

    Noice 👍🏻😀😏😎😘

    • How do you intend to make use of the credits?

Are you an eBay personal shopper?

      • +2

        Gift cards from eBay 👍🏽

Possibly some Amazon gift cards from eBay sellers too

      • +3

Wish gift cards via Dan Murphys

        • Excellent. Was wondering what the best conversion was to cash value

        • +1

They sell digital and physical gift cards on Dan Murphys website - didn’t see any wish gift cards which are valid at Woolworths too.. am I missing something?

        • I could not see either.

        • Same here 😔 Sorry new to this but how do we purchase wish card via dan Murphy's

        • +1

Dan murphys cards can be used at all the same stores as wish. At least that’s how it’s always worked. No idea if they’ll change it suddenly though.

        • @potm:

got my DM gift card, but no amex email yet =/

        • +3

          @CheapskateQueen:

Just an FYI, You can also buy a westfield gift card, they accept paypal.

Only downside is $2.95 for the physical card lol

        • -1

          @montorola:

          Nice

          Thanks for the heads up

        • @montorola:

          Nice one. Thanks

        • @montorola: shipping charges are bit high ?

        • @dumkaze:

Ahh true, shipping is 8.95 on top of the 2.95…a bit lame now

        • @CheapskateQueen: Did you end up getting the email? And have you received your credit yet?

        • @ytictactoe:

no email and no credit yet. not "redeemed" either
chatted to someone online at amex and they said dan murphy is an eligible retailer so should go thru. but im waiting for some form of confirmation with this one first.

        • I check the Dan Murphy's website but I cannot see the WISH egift card? Only the Dan Murphy's gift card.

          https://www.danmurphys.com.au/gift-cards

    • What cards are these EC? It seems to be only Essential cards get this, no Platinum Edge or Explorers are getting these (I have both cards).

      • -1

        Platinum edge and Gold

        • Lucky! Enjoy making use of the offer :)

    • I got it on my Qantas discovery card.

How do you switch cards on the new website?

I used to be able to switch to another card with the old website. Have my cards under the same name.

    • Only 1 out of 5 here. What's your secret EC? Do you have them linked to the same email address/login or all under separate accounts?

      • Same email , added under same account but different logins

        • Thanks. Do you think the different logins helps in not getting excluded from certain targeted promotions?

        • -1

          @bozbargain:

I think each seperate cards needs a login but you can link them to the same account

        • @easternculture: A shame then I recently asked AmEx to put all my cards under the same user login. Seemed like a good idea then, activating all offers on various cards without having to login/logout for every card…

  • +1

Got it on our Essential cards. Woohoo!

  • +1

Not on my Explorer card :-(

    • Likewise, neither on my Platinum Edge :(

  • Boo not on my PE :(

  • Not on my essentials.

  • Nice got this one. Might get a Chromecast Ultra from HN for $61.60

Looks like no minimum spend right?

    • Get it from Officeworks via eBay. 5% off with P5OZZIE code, brings it to $58.52.

Edit: No longer available from Officeworks eBay.

      • Bit late. I did click and collect from HN during my lunch break :)

  • Does this work across multiple purchases or just a single transaction?

  • Hey guys, why was the referral wiki destroyed?
I'm not angry or anything, I see the owner nuked it, I'm just curious why?

  • not on my Qantas Discovery

  • does the paypal account have to be under the same name or could i use my partner's account?

  • Think I can use this to buy PlayStation Plus using PayPal on the Sony website?

  • Got this on one of my 4 Essentials, none on my 5 Discoverys.

  • +1

Spotlight's listed on both the Paypal & Cashrewards websites.

    There's also this current offer:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/341736

So possible $40 off $100 purchase from Spotlight, 4.9% cashback from Cashrewards, and 20% off/max $40 from AmEx/Paypal.

  • Just saw this. Given that I spend on paypal all the time, its basically free money!!
Amex - an ozbargainers best friend. Shop small still going too!

  • can you claim this over many transactions?

    • Yes, 20% each time until you reach $40 credit.

    • AmEx live chat eventually said yes but the person I communicated with cutnpasted the offer terms at first…

  • +1

I use Paypal/Amex all the time.

    Probably why I wasn't targeted :(

  • Plat Charge (linked to a Paypal account): Nil
Plat Charge supps (not linked): Nil
    Plat Reserve: Nil
    Plat Edge: Yes
Plat Edge supp: Yes for 1 only

Not sure how they have figured it out, quite amusing…

  • so if i spend 100 bucks, i get back 20.
then if i spend another 50, i get back another 10?
and then another 10 if i spend another 50?

  • So just dropped 200 bux on dan murphy… not email from amex yet…

  • Did not get on any of my 3 Essentials.

  • Just prepaid $200 on my Sydney Water account using Paypal - no sign of an email from Amex yet.

    • Let us know how it’s goes!

      • No news - still no email or credit and my offer does not show as redeemed yet. No need to panic yet!

  • got the offer

  • Anyone got email following transactions?

    • No. I'm guessing maybe because you could still spend and get further cash back (assuming you haven't reached $40 yet). I've never used one of these % credit ones before.

      • I have bought a $200 gift card and never received the email. Will wait a few more days before following up. If not a quick call to Amex customer service usually fixes the problem.

    • Didn't get the email, but i did get my 20% back in credit :) i only spent $67.32 in one transaction and got $13.46 back.

  • Just wondering is it possible to like more than one credit card to a Paypal account. EG Visa and Amex. Also if I pay using Amex via PayPal are there any transaction fees?

    • You can have multiple cards. I have both MasterCard and Amex linked to my account. There shouldn’t be any fees.

  • Hey guys, just checking whether the T&C say no to GC?

Am I okay to buy Westfield gift card on AusPost by paypal to get the credit back?
    https://shop.auspost.com.au/product/50-westfield-gift-card-0…

Or anyone know where I can get Woolworths or Coles GC

    • -1

      cashrewards for woolworths

    • +1

      you'd lose $23.80 there

    • Thanks for the AusPost idea. Just got iTune card on AusPost website they are on 15% discount at the moment. Paid with Paypal at check out and got the Amex confirmation email straight away. So for $120 iTune card paid $102 with Paypal and will get $20 back, so it's a $82 spend on 4x$30 iTune cards. Free shipping from AusPost too. :D
