Hank Scorpio: Uh, hi, Homer. What can I do for you?
Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.
Hank Scorpio: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third.
    Homer: Uh-huh.
Hank Scorpio: There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
    Homer: Mm-Hmm.
Hank Scorpio: That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot… Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third.
    Homer: Oh, the hammock district!
    Hank Scorpio: That's right.

Otto: You know those hammocks that are like… double hammocks?
      Rubber Stamp: Approved

  • what material is the hammock made of? would 100% cotton be more comfortable?

  • +1

I've been through a few hammocks and frames and they're completely hit and miss with comfort. This one reminds me of the Oztrail version which was a bit of a runt to put together and didn't last long. Having said that at $49 I'd definitely take the punt as these are the absolute bomb on a nice sunny balcony

    • +3

Had mine for a year, no issues.
Pretty great for $49 and as you said, perfect for my apartment balcony after work with a beer or 6.

  • +1

A Hammock on a Frame is not the same
You cant swing, your plus one will think you're a ding
If you want to relax, here's the facts
For your hammock make a Mexican palapa, then you wont be a duffa

    • +1

What happens if my +1 already thinks I'm a ding, or possible dingbat?

    • You cant swing

Why not? I swing all the time

    • You Homie sure can sing,

As you lay in your hammock and swing,

      You relax and fall asleep,

As quiet as a mouse, not even a peep.

      • Nekminnit…. tea bag.

Discounting hammocks and beer at the same time is not going to end well.

  • +3

    q) what do you call discounted premium lager?

    a) lager.

    • +9

What do you call a hammock that's gone wild?

      Amock.

  • +3

This hammock is awesome. Got it last year around the same time as a gift for my wife. The whole family has spent hours in it this year. It swings just fine, though I dunno how you'd fit two people in and be comfortable unless it was for some .. cuddling.

    • +8

      This guy swings.

  • Hello Hammock! *Those that have traveled know where that's from!

  • Linked dan Murphy’s grolsch isn’t a swing top but any idea if the Aldi one is? Keen to stock up for home brew, the ultimate in ozbargaib economy

    • Not a swing top

  • upvote purely for JV

  • Buying one as part of my wife-survival kit. Don't have a dog house but this will do for the heated arguments

    • +3

Is she used to sleeping in a hammock though?

  • Do these hammocks go on sale often? Moving into a new place mid Jan. Should I buy it now while it's cheap?

    • +1

I wouldn't say it's often. I got mine 2 years ago? It was around this time too.

  • +4

I got stuck in one of these for 8 hours last summer. I’ll never buy or use on of these dangerous hammocks again.

    • What do you mean you got stuck, did it twist around and trap you or something ??

      • Somehow it twisted and I got tapped inside a cocoon. I tried to get out but I couldn’t.

Luckily my neighbours heard me screaming when they got home from work. So, they helped me out of this poorly designed hammock.

Where is the video on youtube?

        • +1

That's concerning a bit especially if kids may get on it

        • +1

          That is awesome

        • @kahn: I don't have one. But it was kinda like this Man gets trapped in hammock

        • +1

          @LiveItUp:

That just looks like an overweight man with zero dexterity who is just clumsy. I just can't see that happening to normal folks lol. Not that its my business, but that dude should lose some weight or he's going to have all sorts of pulmonary diseases.

        • @kamban: Id say it's more a weight issue..

    • +1

Unless you weigh more than 200kg which is the stated limit or is grossly overweight, I can't see how this can be dangerous?

    • +4

      I don't believe you.

I would like to meet you at an Aldi so you can demonstrate how you got into such a state.

See you at Aldi Burwood on 20th Dec, ok?

      • +5

Okay I'll be wearing the orange OzBargain t-shirt

    • +1

Please tell me it isn't true.

    • +1

How many beers did YOU have?

  • JV has not been himself since the YES vote went through

    • Shame, Australia - shame.

  • Have one of these and it works well, super comfy.

When storing, recommend you block off the tubes and put the hammock in a bag that can be closed. Not nice waking to a red back on you.

  • Anyone have an idea on how good the blinds are, how they work?

  • I like the hammock. Got mine 2 years ago, they are easy to store (comes with a waterproof bag and can detach easily) and to get out (unless you are too relax to hop off). My niece and nephews LOVE it!

  • hammocks … hammocks … what about the 4x500 ml stella … that is 2litres of beer for $10 …..

will dans price match …. they do 500 ml stella cans …..

  • Does anyone know if the Stella is Australian, UK or Belgian brewed?

  • How much does it weight? I can only find info on the weight limit for people using it.

  • How many people do you suppose are able to actually sleep in on of these? It would be cool… Anyone here?

    • +1

I've had many an afternoon nap in mine
I have also had friends actually sleep overnight in it after a night of drinking.

    • would fit one comfortably if sleeping, unless your comfortable getting close and personal.

  • Grabbed one. Very easy to get in and out of. 71kg male here. The Mrs jumped in too which got a little tricky to coordinate but seemed simple enough. Thanks OP!

  • Anyone seen any stock of this in Brisbane?
The 4 on the southside I've been to are all sold out.
Can you get a local store to see if there is stock in the district?

  • Thanks op, I bought one.
Not sure if I set it up right though - it seems really quite tight on the highest notch.
Was a struggle to pull ends over the hooks.
Don't think I could pull it over the hooks if I set it on a lower level.
    Noone else with this problem?

  • Is the hammock deal still on? When does it end?

  • Anyone had any trouble setting the hammock up? The fabric part seems way too short for the frame?
