Apologies if this has been posted, but I was just in JB hifi Adelaide Rundle Mall spotted it - The new Google 64gb Pixel 2 on Telstra for $59 a month Unlimited calls/text, and 15gb data (i think). Good deal coupled with $100 gift voucher + google home mini.
There's a sign up, forgot to take a photo. Couldn't find the deal on their website either, but it's definitely on!
If you include the $100 gift voucher, it will be $54.83. Plus the cost of Google home mini, it's a good deal.
Only a few weeks ago I took advantage of the free $200 gift card BYO plan. Just signed up to this deal too and pocketed another $100 gift card. Signed the wife's phone up too.
Once I flog the phone for $950 and factor in the value of the gift cards, my Telstra plan works out to be $7 per month plan.

How do you sell it for $950 when you can buy it new for $999 from JB? Who would mess with their warranty buying a phone off gumtree to save 5%?

I thought pixel 2 is just a smaller version of pixel 2 xl. i was wrong. the screens are totally different. wish it were an xl :(
It essentially is, apart from the screen and the battery. Still the same internals and camera.
Got the deal for the wife ~ existing telstra customer ~ so guess you dont need to port from else where.

Step 1: Port into the $49 per month BYO Telstra deal at JB, I assume it's still on, and pick up a $200 JB gift card for porting in.
Step 2: Once step 1 is complete, take advantage of the $59 family and friends deal for one of the pixel phones, iPhone or Samsung. It seems JB are doing a second deal for the Pixel 2. With the Pixel 2 coming bundled with a home mini, USB C earphones and a $100 gift card. Some ppl have also gotten a bonus $10 gift card.

I was on the $49 BYO telstra plan 12 month contract - included 15 + 5 GB Bonus data + $100 Gift Voucher.
For the $49 plan, I ported over from another network. The deal was signed up with JB HI FI about 2 months ago.
I can confirm I was able to "recontract" to the 24 month contract and sign on the $59 deal today.

I was told by the Telstra sales people over the phone that there will be a "bill shock" in the first month if switching from BYO to F&F.
Something to do with prepaying for the next month (paying both $49 and $59), anyone knows what this is about?
You just have to pay 1 month in advance, effective 2 months worth of access payments for the first month.

Got mine this morning. Just letting everyone know you can't get the phone straight away until porting is completed. I got mine straight away because I have telstra cable which allowed provisional approval.
The pack comes with the phone, usb c headphones, google mini and $100 gift card. Sorry that I'm not true Ozbargaining the extra $100 :(
Finally, in relation to cases and screen protectors, you can negotiate them for half price. Just something to keep in mind!

I'm going to try my luck with the BYO, then F and F deal.
After you sign up to the BYO $49 deal it takes a few days to generate the bill that's paid in advance.
If I want to switch to the F and F deal to try and get the additional gift card, should I wait for a bill to be generated for the BYO plan first?
Or just try to switch as soon as the BYO port goes through? (I don't want to miss out)

As soon as your BYO contract is complete and has begun, you can upgrade to whatever you want. Even in the same JB store… the staff will love you, because they'll get credit for 2 contracts! They get MAD commission from this.
Just went and got the white pixel 2 on this deal. The guy also checked in a $40 case on top of everything else.
I did the Telstra port to kogan back to Telstra then over to this deal over the last 3 weeks. Lots of effort but content now.
How long were you 'away' from Telstra? You ported to Kogan then back to Telstra… their rule is 30 days away to be considered a 'new Telstra' mobile customer. Was your 3 weeks actually a month or did you beat the system?

I don't have a jbhifi nearby as I live in remote Queensland. I went to my local Telstra shop who tried to sell me a pixel 2 for $132/month with 20gig of data. I flashed my phone with this post and the sales clerk changed her tune. I walked out with a Google home mini, new set of headphones and a 64gig pixel 2 with 15gig/month for $59/month. Didn't get the free voucher, but hey, it'd nearly cost me that to travel to my nearest jbhifi store.

The deal is for anyone and everyone with ID and a good credit check. You only need to port in (and be a new customer) to get the $200 gift card deal).

i just activated mine last night and got the sms this morning however it says 15gb as well as my telstra online account
does it take some time for the extra 5gb to take effect ?
If the consultant (human or online) said you're getting a bonus 5GB, they would have recorded it on your account, and they will get to it… eventually. Give it a couple days (yes, it can take that long) because someone has to manually go into your account and make the changes.

$190 for an hours' work seems reasonable to me.
I think you might have to return the phone to terminate the contract.
Terminating the contract requires buying out the phone - it's yours once you sign the dotted line.
The cost to terminate this contract on Day 1 is $706.03.
Is it? My Telstra sheet says that you get a credit of $45/m towards phone repayment, so the buy out cost would be $45 x 24 months = $1,080, and that doesn't even include any ETFs
$1080 is the cost if you were to move to another carrier.
$706.03 is the cost if you re-contract again with Telstra.
