  • Anyone keen to split? Located in lower North Shore - St Leonards/Artarmon area

  • Hi can some one upload the receipt.
HN at north ryde wants to look at it.
    Cheers

    • +1

No one has bought it yet because the deal doesn't start until 1 January 2018.

Show them the catalogue screenshot at the top of this post if you're feeling lucky, maybe they will honour it for you today.

Then can you please post your receipt so we can all benefit from the embargo break.

      • +5

HN Goulburn have started selling them.

Receipt attached. They scan at $48 but the POS display in the showroom shows the advertised price (2 for $74).

        Happy new year!

        • Hey mate the store in North ryde is asking for the photo of the complete receipt, can you please send it to me.

          cheers

        • @kavali007: they can get the receipt details from the receipt number :)

        • @OzBargainUserOne:
          there is no receipt number,
I think the store manager is just slack, i called the Goulburn store and he said the offer is on.

HN- North Ryde said, if you show the complete receipt- he will give it for $35 each…

        • Thanks OzBargainUserOne, I got a JB manager to price match a single mini @ $37 explaining "it's a catalogue deal starting 1 Jan, but stores are honoring now", showing your receipt. He was hesitant, and I wish he'd said "no" now.
          The downside:
I naively expected the mini would connect to Bluetooth speakers just like my Dot does, but it doesn't - I've found a 3 year forum whinge to Google, who simply expect you to use a Chromecast audio for every speaker you want to connect to.
Only reason I got the Mini was because my Dot was not connecting properly to my 2 month free Spotify account (and will apparently support free Spotify accounts), but who wants to listen through this tiny speaker ;(

(Also, google refers to my LIFX by it's full reference number when controlling, rather than the nickname you select, very annoying)

Good deal, if it suits your purpose

Why don't you wait till they start forcing people to use them?

  • For anyone who is keen, HN Fyshwick Canberra are doing the 2 for $74 deal. Flashed the catalog screenshot on my phone and asked if they were doing it. Yep, picked up my two from them today.

    • They sold out now. I was able to get TGG to price match though (they are one of the few retailers to still have stock in Fyshwick).

  • This is actually a leaked catalogue for the New Year - it starts on January 1st so offer available January 2nd.

just got the deal online through chat first showing the a link receipt above then about 20mins of convincing that stores had started the 2x deal.

No need to convince online chat anymore - they are now providing a link for $74 deal if you ask.

    • +2

Confirming that. Just got a link myself through chat.

      • Same, but no stock for pickup anywhere near me… no deal.

        • +1

take out a free shipster trial if you haven't already allows free shipping.

        • @stevednj48: oh yeah, good idea!

    • Can you please send me the link
      Cheers

      • +1

Sorry, I used mine. The way they do it in chat is give you a coupon at the end of a link. But they are one use only.

  • Anyone wanna split at Melbourne cbd? Pm me thanks

    • I'm in Melb CBD and work in QV building. Still keen?

  • Used online chat - provided a link for the $74 deal , easy as.

    • Online purchase only? Could use the link for click & collect?

      • +1

Just got a code through chat and it's just like a normal cart checkout where you can choose delivery or click and collect. Make sure you check what colours are available for click and collect as they'll need to make a code based on the colours you choose.

  • Thanks Steve,
I did the same online chat and got a code straight away - No need to convince them!

  • No hassles with the online chat. Thanks for the tip about Shipster, much appreciated.

  • Thanks. Online chat sent me links for 2 orders. He wasn't sure but he checked with the supervisor and it was all good.

There was no stock for C&C at the 3 stores in SA that I looked at, so I'll have to wait for delivery!

    • Mine are apparently coming from Gepps Cross store so they obviously have them!

  • +1

Price matched at TGG here in Perth. Just showed them the catalogue page. Thanks for the uploaded receipts and catalogue everyone.

    • Bonus if you have good guys concierge $20 credit

  • +1

thanks to OP & those who mentioned the live chat deals, it works… I just got the 2 for $74 deal from live chat to pick up tomorrow instore. They said the leaked catalogue was a mistake, not supposed to be out yet but they will honor the deal.

  • Thanks again for the live chat trick, they didn't even ask a question.

  • Did the online chat, and they trying to say that there is no stock at stores, so you have to order online at $14. So worked out $44 each

    • Not many stores have stock left, check via click and collect locator when adding to cart. Then find a store that has stock, chat with them and have them do it at the store?

    • 14 x 2 = 28
Sorry, I don't get the math?

      • Your Order Qty Price

        Google Home Mini - Chalk 1 $48
        Google Home Mini - Charcoal 1 $48

        • You should’ve used shipster for free shipping?

        • @doweyy: Was no option?

        • @asa79:

If you used the same email as your order then it will add the free shipping with shipster.

        • @doweyy: ok I wasnt registered for shipster

        • @asa79:

That’s okay :) enjoy your new speakers.

  • I brought 2 this morning, but after setting up everything, I 3 is overkill, so I will sell one mini! Completely new, just out of the box 37$ pick up in Melbourne or Southbank!

    • +1

Heh - I have three 'minis' and two 'homes'. Use them as hands free intercoms via the 'broadcast' command in the (two storey) house - works quite well. Pretty much at saturation point now though otherwise would take you up on that… ;-)

    • Iam interested. Pm'ed you.

  • Just bought 1 from harvey norman yesterday for $48,can I ask them for another for the difference amount?
does price guarantee applies in such case?

    • -1

Probably not as its a catalogue mistake, and they would only give you a discount code to purchase two new ones, you could return the original one tho

  • Shame that Google have blocked exports of Google Mini and Home from USA retailers. USD$29 each (AUD$37) and USD$79 9AUD$101) for Home model.

    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/connected-home/ci/35095/N…

  • Good deal, but for those expecting it to connect to any Bluetooth speaker - it won't, mentioning now hoping others won't be disappointed

    • just got to wait for a deal on chromecast audio?

      • Why buy a Chromecast audio for every Bluetooth speaker when a Dot can connect out-of-the-box….I have a Chromecast gen 1 which I never use, guessing that only supported video though (only HDMI-out, I forget?)

  • can we use harvey norman e-gift card online?

    • +1

Yes, it's above where you put the coupon code in.

  • +2

Saw the JB catalogue in store today for prices starting 2nd Jan. Has 2 Google Home Mini for $79. Not as cheap as HN but seems likely getting them to price match wouldn't be difficult. Maybe of interest to those with access to JB discount vouchers.

    • +1

Good thinking! Use RACQ Rewards to purchase a JB eGift Card at 6% off… so final price is only 26¢ more than the HN deal. Cheers troyb74!

  • The automatic 'discount' is live, but someone's maths is off. It's:

Total amount: $158 (single price is now up to $79)
    (Incl GST $7.64)
    Discount: -$74
    Balance payable: $84

So they've set the discount to be $74 instead of $84 and the price is $10 more.

    • Looks like they fixed it this morning so the single price is $74.

  • No stock around 4000 or 4020 apparently.

  • Just ordered 2 for delivery for $74 using Shipster to cover the $14.95 Delivery costs (I am still in the free 2 month honeymoon period after signing up mid December with Shipster) and was able to change the address to my brothers place (was worried I could only use Shipster to my home address)

  • Damn out of stock locally, however I already ordered $78 delivered at Officeworks @78

  • +1

Just bought the twin pack for $70.30 price beat officeworks

  • +2

    TWO?!?!?
….I don't even have one home, not even a mini home, the prices and interest rates are outrageous.

  • +1

Brisbane southside ozbargainers - if you're at Garden city today and wanted to split a pair let me know :)
Going to try office works price beat for $70.30 or HN/JB if it fails.

    • Located in New Farm / Outer West. Not quite southside but keen on a split!

  • Just a heads up, many stores are seemingly showing unavailable for click & collect because they are not open. Just popped into HN Nunawading and they are not open for trading today hence have deduced that's why their stock levels are not online.

  • Thanks OP - another happy purchaser who picked up 2 at officeworks for $70.30.

    • What do you need to do at OW to get this price? Just mention the special?

      • It's on their website Google mini 2 pack for $78

      • Yes, showed them the HN website and that was all they seemed to need.

  • -1

Would you say 1 Google Home Mini is sufficient for a 4 bedroom single storey home? I mean we are those kind of people where command will need to happen in the living room area and not bedrooms. But then it's kinda beat the purpose if we can command from the living room to turn ON the TV and lights in the bedroom but not able to command from the bedroom to turn them OFF. In that case, perhaps the ideal number is 5 Google Home Mini in 4 bedroom home then? Apology if it's a noob question.

  • Ordered one, no stock near by, so had it delivered (free anyway) Thank you.

  • Not sure if posted before?

The Good Guys have their deal 2 for 1 price $78. But I think it ends tonight. 1 day deal.

  • +1

Just received an email saying my order has been delayed (item on back order).

  • Ordered on Jan 1 morning…email confirmation but nothing since then. No email stating delays or anything.

    Anyone else?

    • I ordered on 30 December and got an email saying both orders were back ordered. Last night online chat told me they're expecting stock early next week. There was no stock at any store in SA when I checked last night.

    • Same.

    • Also ordered on the 1st, received email today saying it's been sent - expected by Wed-10.

  • I ordered mine (2 for $74)and used shipster for free shipping on 1st January, and it arrived just then. But my delivery only has one google home mini .. I chased the driver and told him it's meant to be 2, and his reply was that it could be with another driver ?? Anyone else experience this?

    • +1

call harvey norman. aus post driver has nothing to do with the order.

  • I managed to order today with the free store pickup. yey

  • Keen to split with anyone in Brisbane :)

  • Does anyone know how to set up multiple users for google home? I'm not sure if the feature is avaialble in Australia yet?

    • If someone has Google home on a phone/tablet and are on the same network it should prompt them to setup on the Google home device/s on the network. Or somewhere in the settings there's an option to invite users to setup on that device.

  • I find I use it's alarms, reminders and countdown timers a bit. You can ask it for progress as well with any you have set.

    • Exceptionally frustrated that I set a timer on one of them, and the other in the next room knows nothing about it. Also doubly frustrating when the one in the next room is the one that decides to respond instead of the one next to me.

  • Still backordered in Sydney inner west area weeeee

  • Anyone around broadway Sydney keen to split ?
