A good deal, just be wary of Grays Online, they can be quite dodgy:

I never had any problem dealing with Grays Online, bought many things in past from them. You don’t have to neg this post. I have reported you to mods.

Did you neg every single grays online post since you joined?

Worst thing is, it has come from someone with 0 Posts since joining !!

    • Just purchased the 128 gb version for same price as 1tb ie $199.20 less cashrewards so around $198 hopefully. Have had no trouble with Graysonline in the past. lf all goes well it should be a bargain as comes with 12 months warranty. Also have spare 525gb to substitute. Too much to hope for that 128 is card not hdd as does say 128 ssd. Be nice if could have windows on 128 and data on 525 .

      • Can you please confirm if the storage is upgradable?

      • my bad. realised you were talking of the other one

      • +3

I think the one that you have purchased is for A6 instead of A8 because I was looking at the same laptop except difference prices. So if i were you, I would cancel it and reorder the A8 version.

Yup, you would be correct from what he explained.

        • Did so. Many thanks.

    • As noted by fchis on Ozbargains I inadvertently purchased the A7310 ilo the A7410 128 GB model. Got in contact with grays online where a refund was immediately given. Kudos from me to grays online (and fchis).

Bought as a house spare, great price, thanks for the post.

No problem, hope the laptop works well for you.

CPU is a bit on the weak end of the spectrum even for generic use. Definitely still a bargain though.

Bought One. I needed a cheap laptop for my father who just started to use computers. Thanks OP.

You're welcome, glad to share some bargains.

  • Good for the kids to do their school assignments on at home (2.2kg) and browse the web but little more than that.

  • hmm, would recommend keeping an eye on gumtree and/or eBay for a X220/X230/T420/T430 Thinkpad over this I think…

or on second thought maybe not, I don't want those prices to go up ;)

  • I may cop abuse for this type of comment but OK to live with it, but I'm wondering how this would go as a media player with Logitech K400 keyboard/mouse combo hooked up to a TV running 1080p. Applications would include Netflix, Stan, Freeview & streaming from my NAS. Looking for an upgrade from my ancient WDTV Live & Chromecast.

Other than potential heating issues from leaving it on all the time, anyone care to comment on other shortfalls?

I would consider a NUC, but I like flexibility & options (no one-trick pony's), and a spare laptop around the house will be handy if my main one dies.

you realise there's only one remaining right? by the time you gather enlightenment the deal will be over

      • Yep all gone!

        • lol

      • +1

I can live with that, but will be good to know the above for the future

        • TBH I think you're better off with a SFF PC like here:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/359636

which looks to be more powerful and compact. However, depends if you want to use it as a standalone PC/laptop with screen, etc or have it connected to the TV 24/7. I have a Lenovo TinyPC and it's pretty good for TV media duties being compact and relatively powerful. I have an old one similar to these:

          https://www.ebay.com.au/i/152883638035?chn=ps

And they can be had for around the $200 mark.

        • @Joxer: Thanks. Seems the census is desktop over laptop.

Seeing as that ship has sailed - why don't you just get a Xiaomi Tv box - should do everything you need to I think?

      • Yeah, I have been leaning towards it, plenty of deals popping up for it and raving reviews.

        • +3

I got one a couple of weeks ago for $84 (local stock) and the interface etc is awesome - it evens works off the same remote as my TV so don't need to hunt around for a 2nd remote…

Only thing i was dissapointed with is it doesn't have all the catch up tv apps which I would have thought would be a given..apparently some can be accessed through Kodi but I haven't had a chance to have a look into that as yet.

Great for Plex and Netflix the 2 main things i'm using it for and super fast!

        • @urbancartel: Yeah, I've read the downfall is Freeview support, but heard they can be sideloaded.

Thanks for the update on Xiaomi, might go that next pay.

    • You’d be much better off with some of the Optiplex USFF units. Get a 9010 or 9020 and a cheap DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor off eBay and you’ll be away. For under $200 it will be Core i5 too

  • Found this in stock, looks similar- I think it has a different processor though

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-IdeaPad-110-15ACL-15-6-HD…

    • Processor downgrade from A8 to A6 for same price.. no thanks

      • Yeah that definitely tips the scale from bargain to normal.

    1TB Hard drive not SSD?

    • Yeap. Cant see the SSD option. Only 1 TB HDD

    • Yep, didn't spot the change, use report so the mods/power users can update it (i'm out of reports)

      • It was a 128gb sdd model but they went out of stock, someone updated the post linking to the 1tb model since they were restocked.

        • I clicked the link and saw that it was back in stock, reported it as back in stock - grays switched the listing and desc to 1TB, didn't notice when I reported it as back ib stock

  • nice got the last one!

  • Received the laptop today. Its looks nice for the price and it comes with a printed document which says refurbished products carry a 3 month warranty carried out by Grays and not lenovo. Not sure if its 3 months or 12 months?

    • Did they give you the SSD?

I purchased two SSD models and received two 1TB models.

      • Just checked, I got 1 TB model instead of SSD.

        • Yeah 1TB and 2GB graphics card.

        • @davohatcher: if you guys read the comments just above your first comment, you'll know why.

  • Hmm - I purchased an SSD model and got a 1tb hdd instead (or what looks like a sshd too)

  • Ordered SSD

    Received HDD

eBay listing indicated 12 mth warranty

Docs in box printed 3 mth warranty

Buying a Lenovo got a lemon..

    • Can I return it for full refund? I sent message via ebay and asked to provide picture of barcode on the back of laptop.

    • Me too - ordered SSD, got HDD.
Machine is nice and well worth $200 bucks otherwise.
Anyone had any joy with Grays and getting a replacement?

      • +1

Grays asked me to send the laptop back to them. I am not sure if they will replace with SSD one. I am okay with HDD anyway.

        • Thanks for the reply, that's what I expected.
I emailed and pointed out that i'd set it all up and it was now being used and so forth.
Given that I asked them to send me a new one and i'd shoot them back the original.
I have no expectation of that being agreed to but you run the race to win, not come second.

        • @attfiecz2: I will send them the same response. I don't want to loose it for refund.

        • @agrawalsumit25:

I tried, Grays wants me to send the laptop back so that they can look into configuration issue.

        • @agrawalsumit25:
"It is with much regret I advise that this item was incorrectly listed in our eBay store, as this unit comes with 1TB HDD instead of 128GB SSD."

Basically the only option they have is to send it back for a refund.
Seems like an honest mistake so that's fair.
I will just keep it and ask for the balance back between the two models.

        • @attfiecz2: grays offered $20 to keep the laptop without returning which I gladly accepted. Waiting for refund to be processed.

        • @agrawalsumit25: Yep - partial refund for me too. Would still have paid the asking price for the SSD over the reduced price plus the refund for the HDD but not a bad outcome.
To Gray's credit, they have been good to deal with.

  • Look like a 5400rpm HDD in my unit.

  • Not allowed to upgrade yourself??
Mine has a sticker over one of the screws on the back saying "Warranty void if removed". Is that legal??
