Fantastic choice if on a budget and wanted just one all-rounder lens.

      • +2

TBH, I personally prefer Sigma 28-70 F2.8 for better build quality, lighter weight and lower price.

        • +4

either or really, Sigma lacks full weather sealing and has some softness around the edges. Tamron is heavier and more expensive. Both good choices though.

          • @Dealr: Personally I'd stay clear of Tamron lenses. I have heard of multiple instances of dust making its way inside of the optics of this lens and a few others from the brand.

            • @Omk4r123: Personally, I have had a few Tamron lenses over the journey and haven't had any issues.

            • @Omk4r123: That wouldn't really scare me off the brand. Sigma's 24-70 F2.8 V1 for e-mount was infamous for dust sucking.

            • @Omk4r123: Dust makes it into lenses of all kinds all the time. The lens has air in it, it gets hot, it physically has parts moving in relation to each other inside. It's not meant to be airtight. It doesn't do anything. An obstruction has to be massively larger than a piece of dust to start showing up, something like a fly or a screw will just about be noticable if you really look for it stopped down.

    • Why is the Nikon Z mount version so expensive…

      • +2

        Z mount licence fee

    • I always said to myself, 28-200 for fe will be my last lens, a general walk around everyday catch all… yet here I find myself tempted again

      • +2

I have both and personally, I wouldn't get the 28-75 2.8 if I already had the 28-200 2.8-5.6. Although I get the constant need we all have for new lenses.

    • Can anyone say why Ozbargain only post lens deals that fit SONY ? I’m a Pentax owner (please dont flame me) anyone know why there is no diversity of lens mount deals here… just asking

      • +1

        that fit Sony

        Not true. Also Fujifilm.

I worked 5 years in camera retail back in the day , and the only Pentax I ever sold was a Pentax q… to myself lol - which Pentax you shooting with?

Cr Kennedy has 15% off the Pentax store but you’ll prob find better deals on eBay (assuming any one stocks what you want)

        • Ive got an old K5, it hasnt been out for a while post covid though

          • +1

@Stuj: Wow, that takes me back, I was looking at k5 when I got my first slr, ended up with d90 Nikon instead and the rest is history

            • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Pentax have some beautiful lenses, great build quality and weather resistance.

              • +1

@Thayer: Yes , it really is a Niche brand today although. To be honest it kind of was when i bought my first Z20.

              • +1

@Thayer: Yeah I don’t doubt it, but so does everyone else.

      • This is a commercial forum which makes money thru affliated links etc, I respect of course they put efforts and should get profit. Some brands are Ozb favorites e.g. apple, samsung, motorola phones but not nokia. samsung, sony soundbars, but not yamaha or sennheiser. Japanese, korean cars but euro cars etc etc. Likewise canikon, and sony cameras are favorites here. How many people buy Pentax camera or Yamaha soundbars here? none to few, not many.

    • Thanks mate, been waiting for a while for a good discount on Tamrons

    • this is a great travel lense even if its a little bulky (full frame problems). I used it pretty much exclusively in korea

    • I've been using G1 model for about 3 years, there's a heavy vignetting on this version but easily correctable. If you shoot video, it's more noticeable, and I don't know how to fix that lol

Overall, my lens paid for itself many times. No regrets. I'd buy a GM if I had to, but G2 must be a great improved version, me thinks.

Not sure how good of a deal this is as its refurbished, but can see brand new is around 7500. I know this is a an older model, but for the size and OLED I thought it was pretty good deal. I pulled the trigger on it.

      • oops! you are right, I have updated

    • +3

Someone’s grumpy because there’s only 4 available. Still, how many people want a TV this big?

      • +7

I would say most people would want one, but far fewer willing and able to acquire one.

        • most people don't have a living room that they can easily put an 85in tv far enough away for it to be pleasant to watch

          • @illogicalerror: I don’t believe this to be correct. I live in an apartment with prime seating spots 3-3.5m from the screen and it’s great.

            • @eccaz: I gave my 85in tv to my Mum, who then gave it to my sister. It was too big to just relax watching in the evenings. Great for full cinema movies and the like but unpleasant for daily use. We're back on 65in now and it suits us.

            • @eccaz: You must by myopic

    • Tempting but has Sony store gotten any better? A lot of bad stories in previous years with the refurbs

    • Purchased a refurb laptop from this group before. Packaging was minimal but the device was very good condition, and actually had 20gb ram instead of the 16gb advertised. Would buy from them again in future. Ryzen laptop cpus are better than the comparable intel chips however

Are you sure you want this fridge? Appears to use LGs trouble-magnet linear compressor. This one's a hard pass for me.

      • +2

Ditto, I have been informed by a fridgie mate to never buy LG or Samsung due to their "compressor"… That is, unless one likes to consistently talk to their claims department…

        • Lots of issues with their earlier linear compressor design, but the documented failures rates over the last few years are in line with other manufacturers if published stats like Yale Appliance service calls are right. Oh and the compressor has a 10 year warranty…

        • … also curious which fridges your fridgie mate rates?

          • +1

@dec1an: Any of the traditional fridge brands, eg Bosch, Westinghouse, Whirlpool, etc. He also advices to avoid all gimmick features (eg touch screen, etc) as they will fail over time, and Lg/Samsung will make you wait for the parts. I hope this helps

      • Wait LG is bad? I've known to avoid Samsung, but LG? For what it's worth, I've had an LG fridge for 3 years and it's been working completely fine 🤷‍♀️

    • +3

Just a note about french door…..

I make extensive enquiry and research when I want to replace my fridge last year. I repeatedly come across mentioning not to get french door because of the spring column in the middle. When that piece fail which it will, it will cause thermal issue not to mention you will have to manually move it every time you open and close the fridge. I was told if you want a big fridge, get a side by side. I don't have the space for it so I end up getting the Samsung bottom mount.

      • Good to know - thanks
