  • Good find !! Saw it selling for $30 couple of weeks back at a retail shop

  • +1

OTG drives like these don't work at usb 3.0 speeds. You'll get 2.0 speeds, so keep that in mind.

  • I have one on hold in a north Brisbane store until COB Saturday if anyone wants one?

    • Yeah I was looking to track one down , was going to check the Strathpine store this morning

      • Someone has already messaged me, but if they don’t want it I’ll let you know. edited cause I saw the PM after I posted

  • Wow good find op….glad i didnt buy at $28 each. Just need to wait for more 64gb usb bargains.

    • I think the $28 ones from HN are metal and these are the much cheaper plastic ones. Don't know if there is a difference in speed, but the metal ones look and feel much more substantial and high quality, though they do get hot.

      • Oops, I was referring to the $9 Samsung bars in the post above. Not sure if you were talking about that or the Toshiba.

Using a stock check tool I made, here's nationwide stock levels. Low numbers are never accurate though. I got the memory card product code from this link but not sure if it's correct. Also keep in mind @cheapsuit above said they got the last memory card at Trinity Gardens (SA) but below it says they still have 9 more.

Dug through their online stock check tool and looped all the stores through there, outputs to a handy table I can copy and paste into here!

Nice work, vu. And thanks for saving so many people a little time.

This is where I wish OzBargain worked a little like other forums where helpful comments are voted towards the top and readers get to see really good information sooner

    • +3

      Thanks a heap dude!

Updates: Dandenong South is out, Box Hill South either has stock on hold or is out of stock. Please remember to be nice to the staff, they're getting hammered with calls for these this morning.

For those wanting SD cards: note that the regular version is also $9 on clearance. I just bought one regular and one Pro from Box Hill South. They had one more regular when I called to reserve stock but it was gone when I arrived.

Edit: item codes are TON302EX64 (regular) and TOEXCSD64 (pro).

Edit2: read and write speeds pretty much exactly match the packaging. 96/75.5 MB/s read/write on the pro, 96.1/31.3 MB/s read/write on the non-pro.

        • Thanks again vu!

        • Been to Bondi Junction. No stock

    • Thanks vu! Helped narrow down which stores. Went to Dandenong South just after 8am, their system said they had 4 TOEXCSD64 but in actual fact only 2.. now 0 (she said that's probably due to faulty ones/returns to the store). Anyway, still a great deal!

    • Thanks for doing that mate

    • Thanks for making the table, very helpful.

I've just bought one SD card from the Bondi store (not sure how many remaining), it was behind the cashier counter (need to ask the staff to see if they have it). The USB duo are also behind the counter, but the staff said all of them (3 or 4) have been called and reserved by the same person.

      Cheers

    • +5

      That tool is the best!!!
Any way you could share it with us to use on other deals?

  • +1

Good evening everyone, I do hope that you all ozBargainers did ended up getting one =)

    • Hey I got to Trinity Gardens 10 mins after your post and I got the last one. Thanks very much. You said there were 15 when you left so someone (or staff) got in quick. The $9 yellow tag from your photo was gone as well.

      • It is cheap so, don't think it would last long.

  • Nothing reduced at the Launceston officeworks.

    • Did you take it to the counter to scan?

  • +2

Omg!! Omg!! I got 2 unicorns. No more at Preston Vic. Thanks Op. Love you long time!!

  • I rang Preston at 8 no stock only 32gb

    • Sorry to hear that. I also rang at 8, had to wait like 15min on phone while they tried to search for it.

  • +1

Wetherill Park and Liverpool are both out of stock.
    Rang at 9am

  • thanks op got the last one at capalaba QLD. Most of the other lower capacity ones are going for $9 or less as well but locals have cleared out most. I guess a flood of the newer 128GB ones must be coming in (China has been busy setting up massive fabs this past year)

Not very fast but $9 for 64GB is a bargain and unit is very small and doesn't heat up too much.

Wow write speed is very slow on this

    • +1

Are you sure you are not on USB 2.0 or something? My numbers are way higher and what I was expecting:

      Sequential Write : 40.115 MB/s
      Random Read 512KB : 197.779 MB/s

      Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 0.019 MB/s [ 4.6 IOPS]

      • Also mine got unbelievably hot, could not touch it without getting burned. I have those small Sandisk Ultra Fit drives that people complain gets hot, but this one gets much hotter when in use. I guess with speed comes the heat.

      • +1

You guessed right, popped it in my USB 3 and I am getting Sequential ~200read/20write

  • Nothing @ Coburg 3058
    Nothing @ Preston 3072

  • Fyshwick is all out of USBs and SD cards - I only managed to get 4 of the non-pro SD cards (still a bargain)!

Interestingly, the internal stock system showed 4 USBs available, whereas the API only 3. And there were plenty of the thin paper packaging cards left on the rack, but no corresponding products behind the counter.

    • +1

Just sometimes makes me wonder if the internal staff hold it for themselves?

Based on the previous above post, they saw them putting in there own pockets……

  • +2

You beaute…lucky to get one from Box Hill Vic.

Called at 8am and the lovely las put it on hold and 11am I was there to collect.

    Happy Easter to Ozbargainers.

    Op u legend

  • Joondalup (WA) out of stock :(

  • Nothing left at Bondi
    (Except 16gb for same price)

  • Mandurah WA all gone. Just called now.

  • Sold out in Dee Why, have the 16gb version for $9

  • Purchased the last 64gb Toshiba duo early this morning from Mona Vale. No 64gb SDXC anywhere in Sydney.
West Ryde only has 1 toshiba 32gb SDXC card for $9. May still be there behind the counter if anybody wants it.

  • +2

Stupid guy at my local Officeworks claimed he couldn't see them on sale or find them in store for the TON302EX64 model (called early this morning). I call up again a few hours later (based on the stock levels posted above for my local store) and another person said 2 people came through within the last hour and bought the last 3 that were in store. Not good enough if you ask me.

    • +2

Same happened to me with Trinity Gardens last night. Ended up with a regular SD instead of a Pro version today.

    • +1

All of the 64GB clearance stock wasn't on the shelf for me this early afternoon (Bondi Junction), they were in the locked shelves behind the cashier counter (which often is the case for high capacity/price items).

Not all the staff might actually know how to search it properly, and when I was in store today, the staff that served me couldnt actually pull up the item in the search (it said no product on the system screen, which she showed me). But she was really friendly and helpful, I asked her to just check and see if she can get me any Toshiba SD card of 64GB lol.

      • +1

It just says to me that it'd be better if I was a proper Ozbargainer and went into the store and found out for myself, despite the chance of it being a waste of time (versus calling).

        • lol I think it is really luck based most of the times.

A guy actually called the OW I went to and had 3 or 4 of the USB on hold for him.

        • +1 Always ask at the counter

        • @zrmx: Was it Broden? Lol

        • @dangerdanger:

I have no idea lol, I was just facepalming inside my mind at that moment

        • @zrmx:

They'll only hold them for 24 hrs. Call back tomorrow.

    I got 2 x Samsung 64 gig sticks and 2x 64 Toshiba duo stoicks and 15 32gb Toshiba duos

    • 15x?

    • 15 x Toshiba 32gb duos flash stick drives near furntree gully

      • Did you take them all, LOL?

    • Why did you Broden 15?

      • +6

Look on Gumtree by searching the keyword "Toshiba 32gb" to find out why

  • Thank you, I hoovered up one USB and one micro sd Toshiba at Windsor QLD. Empty now.

  • Thanks OP. 🖒

  • Thanks OP.

Managed to snag the last 2 x non Pro 64GB in Noarlunga this morning.

Not the fastest write speed but enough for my E-M10 Mk 2 :-)

  • The Toshiba SD card is a full $45 (was $99) here in Taree :(

    • +1

The signs in Fyshwick also showed $45, but get them to scan it at checkout - should be $9.

      • +1

Thanks for the tip! Went back, check with them that it indeed was $9 but turns out they didn't have any left anyway.

Hey guys, I've seen some confusion about how Officeworks do things, I'm here to clear things up as a store employee.

Our prices are the same across all our stores, unless we are selling something damaged, display model, ex repair and those are labelled and priced accordingly towards the manager's discretion.

My job yesterday was to put out the clearance tickets. We had two of the 64GB USB drives at my store, the store was called and they were placed on hold before I found about them (otherwise I would have put them on hold for myself). We had 7 of the SD cards, someone came in and bought four, another person bought one and I nabbed the other two.
If you need a micro SD, they've got 32GB Toshiba Exceria micro SDs for $9 as well, and while this isn't as good of a deal, it's still dirt cheap and we had around 10 or so last time I checked.

The reason why it isn't appearing online is that it is fairly late in the clearance stage. When items first go on clearance, they appear on our website for a small discount (maybe 20% or something like that). However, when prices get cheaper and cheaper, the chances that a store will have stock is really really low, and the remaining stock we have left is likely to be damaged / display model / repair or downright missing, meaning that we can't do it through as a click and collect (ordering online) and our warehouse would have stock long gone.

I'd suggest calling your closest store, and if they don't have them, ask if any other stores in the region are showing any. Get them to put it on hold for you. The USBs are probably long gone by now, but the SD cards you probably still have a chance with.

Also, there are some crazy crazy clearances on printers, for example a $3 A3 inkjet, a $10 A4 mono laser printer and a $15 colour laser printer. However, I would doubt which stores have it, and the ones that do (well at least my store) we put it aside and buy it ourselves. I'd doubt there are many left at all.

Please reply if you have any other questions, I'm here to help.

    • Care to tell us which printers are those?

      • +2

we put it aside and buy it ourselves

        • Yeah I noticed. Lol. I'd do the same if I was working there

        • @dangerdanger:

          Ditto.
But I wonder if that is a conflict of interest of though…

        • @Temptation:

I guess so, but it's not being advertised at the extremely discounted prices. We don't really have any policies about this sort of thing, but it's pretty much first comes best dressed. Holding is an easy example. For example, with the USBs I planned to get them at the end of my shift we had two left and someone called up, presumably from the ozb post. Obviously we'd put the customer in priority at that stage, and later he came and picked them up.

@dangerdanger I unfortunately don't have the exact model numbers for you, but id do the same as what I advised @heathwithnoteeth on.

    • +1

details on the a3 printer would be great :)

      • Im afraid I didn't jot down any model numbers, I just heard about these particular printers from another employee who was looking for them out the back on his break.

There won't be any stock on the shelves at this stage.

With clearance items this old, we can't search for them in a traditional way (on our registers or website), although we can still search by product code if need be.

If you are after the printer, I'd say call up your nearest store, and ask to speak to someone from technology, or ask for someone who put out the clearance tickets. A manager might also be a help, but they really wouldn't be able to take much time looking and finding a specific printer. We can access stock levels from all the stores in our region, so if someone can locate the model name / number then they will also be able to show the stock levels. Please keep in mind that these are sometimes innaccurate, and I'd call beforehand and get them to put it aside for you.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific about the printer model.

  • is it available now?

    • wish you best of luck…
