Some Logitech Gear - 100% Cashback Via Online Redemption - Starts 1 Feb 2011

4040

Some Logitech Mice, Keyboards, Webcams, Headsets and Cooling Pads are able to claim 100% cashback from Feb 1

see the website here
http://www.logitechcashback.com.au

still not a bad deal - given that after cashback, you essentially get the product for free

The stickers are on ALL the products at Dick Smith Arndale - and on the sticker it says, "Purchase me and receive 100% cashback". The upload is a photo of the sticker itself. I got excited as I thought I could pick up a logitech steering wheel with the cash back, but upon upon further investigation, I can see that only a limited number of products are included in this deal.

Only applies to these old models but 5 per household is not bad.

M100 wired mouse
M215 wireless mouse
K200 keyboard
C200/C210 web cam
Clearchat style headset
MK250/MK260 wireless combo
N100/N120 cooling pad

$300,000 is available for the cashback. If there are just 3,000 customers, so far, who know about the deal, that's about $100 each.

So, just a heads up there is a chance you won't get a cashback

      • I'm surprised that Broden doesn't have pre-ordered 10 of each item and their waiting for pickup on the 1st Feb! :o)

    • +1

I'm sure they have. Will likely be limited to the RRP of each product.

      • Being logitech, sure they will use similar logic.

  • +1

have you seen the prices for these items at logitechshop:

    M100: RRP $19.95 Now $27.00
    M215: RRP $49.95 Now $49.90
    K200: RRP $29.95 Now $29.95

IMO, go to DSE or OW as it is way cheaper

    • +2

I am not sure what your point is, if you can get cashback, then it shouldn't really matter if you paid a bit 'extra'. If anything it is actually a bonus, given that you may get more points from using your credit card! :)

      • +1

His point is that the prices at logitechshop are probably only cheap during the sales. How does an item with a RRP of 19.95, shoot up to $27?

Their fan building and vote gatherings may gather just that, but they won't get my customer loyalty with the RRP prices.

        • at least they are honest ;)

        • +3

delivery component is included , but price revisions are being made , Just checked , all prices are correct as delivery is included . afterall i would recommend that people get these goods in retail stores . afterall i think the 300k will run out in the first day , if your delivery ends up at a post office etc , by the time you get the item , what promotion ?
I dont think we will even have those sku's in stock by the time of sale . secondly , why dissapoint any lts customers . we would rather see you all make your money back by claiming asap

        • +2

          @moo love the reply

          love this rep
          so helpful ;)

Just putting it out there: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/38328

You advertise free delivery yet openly admit delivery is included in the price. Sure it may be useful to give the one price, and delivery than costs the same everywhere… but false advertising is false advertising.

          Still love your prices :)

      • +1

The cheapest the better so everyone got more chance to redeem!

  • +2

Lots of action - not bad for a first post

    • +1

haha yeah, but wait until the $300,000 is all used up
at least a few negs will start to appear(even though its not your fault)
but this is a great first post

      • +3

Yeah but theres supposed to be a online counter on the website, so if you dont make the cut you should atleast be able to return the products at no loss to yourself (except your time).

It'll REALLY suck if their counter is inaccurate and they make you remove the barcode (or dont return the receipt), and simply say that the funds were exhausted and your cashback didnt make the cut. Then you'd be stuck with a whole lot of old model products you didnt really want, and out of pocket a fair bit.

        • It’ll REALLY suck if their counter is inaccurate and they make you remove the barcode (or dont return the receipt), and simply say that the funds were exhausted and your cashback didnt make the cut.

you submit an online claim first (just need receipt details, etc). then they email you a confirmation code. after that you send a printed claims form + supporting material. basically you will know if your claim is accepted without opening the products.

  • +1

as with all rebates, be sure you follow the rebate instructions EXACTLY. make a photocopy of everything you send. also send registered post.

  • does anyone know which retail store I can buy the cooling pad N120 from? I can't seem to find any info online.

    • +1

      haha yeah same here
the items that aren't found are the
      MK260 wireless combo
      and the
      N120 cooling pad

the rest could be easily found in large retail store(DSE, OW, JBHIFI, etc)

    • i would only buy from a store that has a change of mind refund policy. i don't think $300k of cashback is going to last very long.

      • +1

        DSE is best
        2 week return no-excuse

        • +1

lol they will have phenominal sales then phenominal returns all in a day :)

        • i don't think they'll accept a cut box?

        • yeah they don't
that's why you have to cut out the barcode/what ever is needed for the cut out
for many promotions you need to cut out the ORIGINAL barcode/SKU, because as many people here would know, there are people out there who would get the cashback and a day later get a refund
that's why promotions like the Canon, eMachine, etc need the ORIGINAL Barcode

grrr, i just realised that queensland is 1 hour behind due to daylight savings

    • Thought Joh took that secret to the grave, or was it just posted on wikileaks ;)

  • +1

lol there is a huge price difference between dse & officeworks. $190 at dse for 5 items, $120 at officeworks for the same 5 items. i just remembered why i don't shop at dse nowadays.

    • lol
i'm only gonna buy one mouse, so that even if i don't get it i will still need it

  • Anybody knows whether we have to buy the product with the sticker or not ? OW has lots of Logitech MK250, etc with stickers on, but no stickers for cooling pad. How Logitech will know whether we are buying the products with ot without stickers as I don't think we have to send the stickers too ?

    • i would say best to get ones with stickers on
as they might have a barcode on the back of the stickers
idk, wait till 1st Feb 2011 as all details will be released on their Fb page

      • +3

you have to get one of the following products:

        http://media6.enterdraw.com/b1b11775-c547-4219-a2a4-b179192e…

        • but with or w/o the 100% sticker is the concern

        • i think the sticker is irrelevant, as long as the sku is correct. note that there are different types of clearchats

          from the promotion faq:

Q2. Which Logitech products are participating in the promotion?
Only the Logitech products listed below are included in the Promotion. If the Logitech product you purchased cannot be found on the list below, unfortunately it is not valid for this promotion.

          http://media6.enterdraw.com/b1b11775-c547-4219-a2a4-b179192e…

        • al-right-e-o ;)

        • It that's true, someone at Logitech made a big mistake applying the stickers to the wrong products.

        • where did u find that image?

        • +4

from a "hidden" link on the main page.

          http://www.logitechcashback.com.au/26/page.aspx?t=a05a859b-2…

it also shows what details you need to submit to get a confirmation code.

        • Livert, I think the retailers are the ones responsible for placing the stickers on the boxes. OW had the stickers out and they were applied over the expired "Win $2000 Daily" promotion sticker.

        • I stand corrected. In that case, retailers shouldn't have issues refunding purchases then.

    • I agree that the sticker is irrelevant as long as the sku is correct. The question is whether we can buy 2 the same products and claim 2 cash back. I emailed Logitech but weird that the email was rejected, looks like not a valid email address until 1/2/11 ?

      • Here is the TC which says - (b) only one (1) cash back claim permitted per Participating Product purchased;——That per my understanding means only 1 claim per product

        • that is so weird because if you read the TC, there is heaps of things that say only one

        • That sounds to me that you can only make one claim for every item you buy. ie so you can't just buy one mouse and make 5 different claims on that same mouse? I don't see any problem with buying 5 of the same mouse and claiming all 5.

        • pretty sure you can buy more than one promotional product and have it claimed back
Oh well, just wait and see today/tomorrow

  • ohhh bugger….was in jb hifi and pretty much all logitech items had the cashback sticker on which made it very confusing:( it wouldve been a great deal if it wasnt limited to just the items on the list

    • +1

there is no doubt that people will buy items with the 100% cashback with logitech/JBHIFI having no intention to give the 100%

  • -1

Just went to a local DSE store and found all five items i want (a wireless desktop set, 3 headsets and one cooling pad), and gave them to a sales person in the store to hold them for me and will go to buy on Tuesday morning. Hope it all works out fine. Fingers crossed:-)

    • you can only get one of each product, and only 1 type of headset, the clearchat style, has the cashback.

      • you can only get one of each product

        Where does it say that?

      • I could not find anywhere saying "one of each product". Are you sure?

        • i might be wrong. i thought i read it somewhere but i'm not going to recheck.

          1. Multiple claims will be permitted, subject to the following: (a) claimants who have purchased multiple Participating Products in one (1) transaction will be permitted to claim multiple cash back claims on one (1) online claim form, up to a maximum of five (5) cash back claims per online claim form; (b) only one (1) cash back claim permitted per Participating Product purchased; (c) only one (1) online claim form submitted per purchase receipt; (d) in the case where Participating Products are purchased separately, each claim must be submitted separately; (e) all claims forms must be submitted in accordance with the claim requirements set out in these terms and conditions; (f) a maximum of five (5) claims per household is permitted; (g) only one (1) unique receipt number per online claim form is permitted; (h) the same unique receipt number cannot be used more than once; and (i) an unrecognised unique receipt number will be deemed invalid.

    i can't find the mk260 at all too :(

    nor the c210

nor the n120 (although i think the n100 is better)

  • FAQ explains things pretty well. Don't bother purchasing the stuff until Tuesday. No box mutilation necessary. http://www.logitechcashback.com.au/26/page.aspx?t=a05a859b-2…

    Checklist http://www.logitechcashback.com.au/26/page.aspx?t=a05a859b-2…

^I am aware that I must attach the original purchase receipt. My claim will be sent back to me, marked as invalid, if I attach a photocopy.

^My claim will be sent back to me, marked as invalid, if the details on the claim form and the original purchase receipt do not match.

^I am aware that there is a limit of 5 Logitech products per household. All other attempts thereafter will be invalid.

^Once my claim form is complete, I will print out the claim form, make note of my unique claim number on the back of my original purchase receipts(s) and mail in to:
    Logitech Cash Back Promotion
    PO Box 223
    BROOKVALE NSW 2100

^I am aware that I can only lodge a claim for products purchased between 1st February and 28th February 2011.

^I am aware that all claims must be received at the above address within 14 calendar days of registering my claim on this website. My claim will be returned, unopened, if received after this date. Last mail date is 14th March 2011 for claims made on the 28th February 2011.

^ I have read, fully understand and agree to the Terms & Conditions of this Promotion.

Please tick this box if you do not wish to receive special offers and product updates from Logitech.

    EDIT: MORE IMPORTANT INFO

Your claim will be deemed invalid if you supply a photocopy of your receipt - only original purchase receipts will be accepted. We will return your original purchase receipt once validated, however we always recommend you take a photocopy of your receipt for your files. We also suggest that you send your claim documentation via Registered Post to ensure its safe delivery. Further, if the details on the claim form and the original purchase receipt do not match, your claim will be deemed invalid.

  • The earlier estimate of 6000 claims still seems a bit risky to me, 6000 is not that many. I'm guessing more than half of that 300K quota will go on the first day, considering someone has even put some of the items on hold for Tuesday. I'm guessing some of us would also have a stamped addressed envelope ready before Tuesday.
I think Logitech are probably counting that many people will buy the products at full retail and later find out that they miss the cut, and since you need to send in the original receipt then you can't return it anyway within 14 days.
I would probably only take the chance if one of the promotional items was on the list of stuff I wanted to buy anyway.

    • +1 to that
i'm only gonna buy one item—>wireless mouse
as i have too much accessories already that are spare

    • There is a live counter on the claim page that will inform users whether the funds have dried up. You will know if your claim will be successful before you send the receipt to them.

      • You will know if your claim will be successful before you send the receipt to them.

Not necessarily, between the time you place your claim and the time it arrives, the funds could easily/quickly have dried up

        • Look at the small red text at the bottom. When a claim is made online, it will update the fund counter. The counter is not updated when the letter/receipt arrives. http://www.logitechcashback.com.au/26/page.aspx?t=a05a859b-2…

        • oh i see
the bad thing about this then is that, people could make fake claims, using random receipt numbers(esp. small retail shops) and it could easily go over $300000

        • True. But if logitech fails to receive the receipt within the allocated 14 days, they will automatically void the claim and re-allocate the funds allowing new claims to be submitted. At least I hope that's what the plan is.

        • that's good

yeah, however there is always a catch to it because if some does use up the $300,000 by using non-realistic receipt numbers, and logitech finds out within 2 weeks(because that is the longest it will take to do)
it will still show up as $0 funds to give out, thus potential genuine cashbacks were left out

      • "Claimants should be aware that the countdown clock may not be in real time and may experience a lag of several seconds. Claimants must also be aware that the countdown clock may change whilst they are in the process of making an online claim. So in this respect, the countdown clock should be used as a guide only, and in some cases this may mean that $300,000 cap has been reached by the time a claimant has completed his/her online claim, although the countdown timer might have communicated otherwise at the time the claimant initiated the claim process."

It will make very interesting viewing how fast the countdown clock goes down on Tuesday morning, that is if the site doesn't crash.

and my guess is that there will be a 2nd batch of people who will just observe the countdown clock on Tuesday, and only if the claim amount is still at a reasonably safe value then they will head out in the afternoon to get a couple of stuff.

Best of luck to you all. Personally from my experience I find Logitech gear to be overrated and overpriced.

  • +1

i think there will be alot of cranky buyers who buy a ton of the items not on the list just based on the cashback stickers they see stuck onto them. those who do not have access to the cashback website will be very very angry…i know the jb hifi near me is definitely gonna have alot of complaints lol

    • Yup. If I were JB, DSE, or HN, I'd be removing those stickers before Tuesday arrives.

  • What is the best valued item (to check with SKU code) and can it be bought from logitech online shop. In that case, how do we send the original receipt to logitech for the refund ?

  • This is great, that cooling pad is mine!

  • Is there a link to the full T&C? Logitechcashback.com.au appears to be a single page with no links barring Facebook and Twitter.

        1. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions including the instructions on how to claim and the details of the cash back funds. Offer not valid in conjunction with any other offer.
        1. Only open to natural persons who are Australian residents. Claimants under 16 years old must have parental/guardian approval to lodge a claim and further, the parent/guardian of the claimant must read and consent to all terms and conditions. Parents/guardians may be required by the Promoter to enter into a further agreement as evidence of their consent to the minor's participation in this Promotion. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, participating retailers and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to claim. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
        1. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of claims (including contacting the participating retailers) and identity of claimants (including a claimant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any claimant who submits a claim that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the claim process or deliberately submits inaccurate data. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's sole discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
        1. Promotion commences on 01/02/2011 and closes 11:59pm AEDST on 28/02/2011, or when $300,000 in the online cash back claims have been reached (subject to the operation of clause 5), whichever comes first ("Promotional Period").
        1. During the Promotional Period, the total pool of cash back funds to be awarded is up to a maximum of $300,000. For the purpose of the lottery department's records, if the last successful claim submitted is, for example for the purchase of a Cooling Pad N100 with a purchase price of $59.95 and the last successful online claim is submitted when there is only one (1) cent left from the total of $300,000 (and this is received prior to 11:59pm AEDST on 28/02/2011), then the total value of cash back funds awarded will be $300,059.94. In addition, if the maximum cap of $300,000 in total value of cash back funds to be awarded during the Promotional Period is not exhausted prior to 11:59pm AEDST on 28/02/2011, then the Promoter will not be under any obligation to distribute the left over funds and these funds will be returned to the Promoter.
        1. To be eligible to lodge a claim in the Promotion, individuals must, during the Promotional Period, purchase any of the participating Logitech products (as specified below) from any participating store in Australia ("Participating Product") and follow the claim procedures set out in clause 7 and 8 below.

Commercial or business transactions involving the purchase of the Participating Products, lay-by's not paid in full by 28/02/11 are excluded from this promotion ("Excluded Transactions"). Educational institutions, hospitals, fundraisers or organisations of a similar kind are classed as business transactions and therefore not eligible. Purchases of the Participating Product via eBay or similar online third party Internet websites reselling used Logitech products are also excluded from this promotion ("Excluded Purchase"). The Promoter at its sole discretion shall have the right to refuse any claim for any Excluded Purchase.

Participating Products: Mouse M100 - Black; Wireless Mouse M215 - Black; Webcam C200; Webcam C210; ClearChat Style Headset (BTH); Media Keyboard K200; Wireless Desktop® MK250; Wireless Desktop® MK260; Cooling Pad N120 and Cooling Pad N100. The actual prices of the Participating Products may vary in the participating stores but the Promoter agrees to pay the price which appears on the retailer's original printed receipt. Stock in each participating Australian retailer is subject to availability and it is the responsibility of the individual to check stock availability with the authorised Logitech participating retailer.

        1. To claim, claimants must, during the Promotional Period, visit www.logitechcashback.com.au follow the prompts to the claim form page, input the requested details including their full name, age, postal address, day time telephone number, email address, exact value of the Participating Product(s) purchased (as stipulated on purchase receipt), full unique receipt number (found on the purchase receipt), store of purchase, date of purchase, and must also select whether to receive their cash back either via cheque (to the name supplied on the online claim form or in the case of a claimant aged under 16 years, to the name of their parent/guardian) or electronic funds transfer ("EFT") (and if they select EFT input their personal bank account details or in the case of a claimant aged under 16 years, their parent/guardian's personal bank account details). It is the claimant's responsibility to ensure that their details, including nominated bank details, are correct and valid. The Promoter accepts no responsibility should the individual not receive their cash back fund(s) because of inputting incorrect details. Once the claim form is submitted online claimants are recommended to print out two (2) copies of their completed claim form in case of disputes or in case their confirmation email is not received. In the event that the claimant cannot print off their claim form, then the claimant may contact the Promoter to request a copy of their claim form.
        1. Once the online claim form has been submitted the claimant will receive an online notification and a confirmation email containing their unique claim number from the Promoter's promotion agency. The Promoter recommends that claimants print out and keep a copy of their confirmation email containing their unique claim number to track their claim. To complete the claim process, claimants must then write their unique claim number on their original purchase receipt and send it together with the printed claim form to Logitech Cash Back Promotion, PO Box 223, Brookvale NSW 2100 so that it is received within 14 calendar days of them registering their details on the promotional website. Any claims that are received via mail more than 14 calendar days after the claim is registered online will be declared invalid. In addition any postal claims which have not been previously notified to the Promoter via the online notification system described above will not be processed. The deadline for final claims will be last mail 14/03/2011 (the Promoter will only be required to pay out those claims if the total cash fund limit of $300,000 has not been reached by that date). The Promoter recommends that all claims be submitted via registered post, however, this is not a condition of submitting a valid claim or eligibility to receive the cash back funds and the cost to do so will be the responsibility of the claimant.
        1. A countdown clock icon on the www.logitechcashback.com.au promotional website will display the remaining cash fund value (updated every few seconds and based on the online registration of the claim). The displayed value will include all registered and pending claims as well as dispatched gifts. Once the $300,000 limit is reached, a notice will appear on the website notifying potential claimants that their claims will not be processed.

            1. The countdown clock featured on the promotional website will communicate the remaining cash fund value based on claims lodged online. Claimants should be aware that the countdown clock may not be in real time and may experience a lag of several seconds. Claimants must also be aware that the countdown clock may change whilst they are in the process of making an online claim. So in this respect, the countdown clock should be used as a guide only, and in some cases this may mean that $300,000 cap has been reached by the time a claimant has completed his/her online claim, although the countdown timer might have communicated otherwise at the time the claimant initiated the claim process.
            1. If the claimant's original purchase receipt is received by the Promoter within 14 calendar days of them registering their details on the promotional website and their claim is verified by the Promoter as valid and acceptable, the Promoter will either transfer the relevant funds via EFT or send out a cheque to their nominated address as selected on their online claim form. Claimants should allow at least 28 days after their claim is verified to receive the cheque or EFT transfer proceeds.
            1. Illegible original receipts, copies of original receipts, handwritten receipts, adjustment notes, delivery dockets or lay-by deposit/part-payment receipts will not be accepted. The claimant's original purchase receipt will be returned to the claimants address as set out on the claim form upon verification of their claim and dispatch of their cash back fund.
            1. Claims that are incomplete, indecipherable or received outside of the Promotional Period will be deemed invalid. The Promoter and any of its employees, contractors and agents or employees of their contractors and agents, accept no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected claims. All claims are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Promoter and NOT at the time submitted or sent by the claimant.
            1. The Promoter recommends that each claimant retains a photocopy of their original purchase receipt prior to sending their claim to the Promoter, as proof of purchase for warranty purposes.

where can I buy the MK 260 in Sydney ?
    thanks

    • Staticice brings up no results Australia wide and I would think that a computer parts retailer would be just as likely to stock Logitech stuff. Maybe it's not a commonly sold item in Australia?

      Ed: .

Ed 2: nvm, OW decided that I meant 250 and not 260

        Google's got a few places:
        http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=&q=logitech+mk260+site%3A…

But they are mostly smaller retailers and I don't really trust their stock levels. Plus you'd be taking a risk ordering as you might get "it'll take a few days to get in" reply to your order and end up missing the rebate and stuck with high shipping charges.

        • lol, you submitted just after my second edit :)

        • Duelling edits. :)

        • :)

  • Having had a little while thinking it over..

The ozbargainer in me says go for it, even though I really don't need a headset that will break (check user reviews on the clearchat style), a new keyboard or mouse (although a wireless combo could be nice to have, even if I don't use it much) or a cooler..

The common sense in me says only risk it if you're willing to put a bit more effort than everyone else to submit very quickly. Considering that this is ozbargain and all (read: promo over very very quickly), I'm not going to risk using my money on stuff I won't use :(

    • I’m not going to risk using my money on stuff I won’t use :(

if the offer finished before you claim, just return it and get your money back… just don't open the packaging…

  • I got a feeling this promo will end in pain, tears, and anger

  • From the Participating Stores list it says "Other" right? Does that mean MSY is eligable???

    Cheers

    • that's a very good question.. would like to know too

  • It doesn't say the deadline for the claims to be paid out. For all we know it could be months, right?
    Sus.

    • it says allow 28 days

  • Anyone knows whether we can get a full refund from OW if we don't have original receipt; ie. only fotocopy, just in case we don't get the cashback ?

    • no way

    • How would logitech know if it was the genuine receipt or a copy anyways? I just ordered an item from logitechshop a few days ago and all they gave me was a print out receipt on regular A4 paper. I could easily make a copy and no one would be able to tell which one was the original.

      • yeah that's an online shop..

        • I wasn't just talking about OW. I'm sure many retail stores just give a regular print out as well.

    • Just ask officeworks for two receipts when you buy it.

      • No officeworks won't give dup receipts…

  • Just to confirm, if i buy it online from logitech shop, that means im not eligible for the cashback?

    Just posted on Logitechshop FB:

THAT YOU MIGHT RECEIVE YOUR PRODUCT AFTER THE MONEY HAS RUN OUT IN THE PROMOTION . ALSO MOST OF THOSE PRODUCTS WE DO NOT HAVE AND BY THE TIME WE REPLENISH OUR STOCK PROMO IS OVER . WE DO APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED

pretty silly how they linked to the cashback site on their FB page though

I think it's a case of a retailer actually putting customers before profit for once.

As the original post has now been updated:

As at 30/01/2011 midnight, this deal has 2246 click throughs. Assuming others out there know about the deal, consider what happens if 3000 people have made purchases

$300,000 is available for the cashback. If there are just 3,000 customers, so far, who know about the deal, that’s about $100 each.

So, just a heads up there is a chance you won’t get a cashback

Currently it's ~2600 click-throughs. By the looks of it, I'd say that this offer will expire on the first day, Feb 1. Given you can claim 5 items, and the average price is $30-40 each, and some people here will no doubt try to game the system, I doubt even 3000 people will get to take advantage of the offer.

Now Logitechshop could have taken all the extra orders, and not given a damn about whether their customers got the rebate or not. Afterall, it's not them who pay for the rebate.

Instead, after realising that they won't be able to deliver the good before the offer expires and they are saying "no, don't give us your money".

That's not "silly" in my book.

although its 2600 click, remember that most likely that members and non-members of ozbargain will have clicked more than once(idk, how the clicking system works) but then you have to take into account the 43000 fans of Logitech Australia @ Facebook and also the members of other forums(OCAU and WP).
But then not everybody will go for it, so i reckon this will last 1 week
