I just came here to say the Sharp Aquos S2 has been a brilliant phone!

    • So true, got S2 for $200 around and accidentally updated to 8.0 Oreo China version, finally found a guy who can flash it to 7.1.1 TW version remotely. Brilliant phone started then.

    • Favourite phone I've ever had. Switched from a xiaomi mi A1. Screen and camera are so much better and in a more compact body.

      • Lots of love for the Aquos here too.

        • For me the Aquos has redefined what a $200 should be able to do. Best buy ever!

    • +1

And I got downvoted by the iSheep for stating that Aquos S2 is a better phone overall in a past deal like this.

    • Seriously?
      Better than pocophone?
What have I got myself into…..I will need to buy again

    I'm sure Officeworks have a Iphone 6 32gb unlocked for under $400…

    Just checked:

      S

        username checks out

      • +6

And there is a big difference in performance.

  • +7

Don’t know why anyone would buy this tech getting old , small storage, better off get a iPhone 7 used 128gb for about $500 or 256gb $550- low $600s gumtree, fb shop etc

    • +20

The draw would be knowing it was new with a full guarantee, good battery life and hadn't suffered any abuse.

      • -5

Can find the 7 in excellent condition with up to a year consumer warranty remaining, new iOS you can now see hom much battery life is left on the device before buying, plus imo the the bigger storage & upgraded specs outweigh getting the 6s, end of the day both will be worth sh it in 2 years, though each to there own

        • +3

Buying second hand phone you have no idea what have been done to it. If the phone had third party battery installed, you will no longer be able to bring it back to Apple for any service.

          • -4

@j1568: Your literally paying $529 for something thats reselling for $250-$350 after that 24hours new phone feeling wears off, if you see good value at $529 each to there own, as for the if you buy a iPhone 7 & the battery has been 3rd party replaced, highly unlikely within 2 years, don’t overthink it it’s just a phone that will continue to go down in value

      • +2

Everyone uses their phones on the dunny…

        • +5

          Who’s there now? 🙋‍♂️

        • dunny is where band 28 is handy if thick walls ….dunny at my old work was in centre of office block …. got phone with band 28 and it became a much better internet experience and removed need to get out of cublicle and find better coverage ….

  • +13

Mhhh…3 generations old is a bit much for >$500

    • For any teenage kid it's a good phone.
They wouldn't want a mid range android. iPhone or nothing

      • +19

Sounds like a teenager who has been raised to be a spoiled ungrateful turd.

        • +3

          So basically, every teenager

    • I don't think its such a bad buy really. Compared to mid end android phones like the Nokia 6 etc they are still very powerful. Even as an iPhone they're extremely powerful and have 2gb of ram.

I never liked the iPhone 6 it was underpowered when new, but the 6S have always been overpowered.

  • +2

    Is this unlocked?

    • +5

No iPhones has been locked in years (like back to the iPhone 3S/4 days I believe).

  • +1

"I bought a new iPhone the other day!"

"How can you live with the notch?"

    "It's actually an iPhone 6S"

    "Ermmmmm…. How much was it?"

    "$529, it was a bargain!"

    No comment, walks away.

    • +11

Walks away…. to OW for price match?

    • +1

I love the notch ….design making the most use of space … Designer deserves nobel for maths and maximizing useable screen for info.

      • Haha I wasn't saying anything bad about the notch in particular (although I have a preference against them) - but that is a very common societal debate happening at the moment

      • FYI, there’s no Nobel prize for maths.

      • +1

You do know Apple didn’t create the notch right?

        https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_Phone

      • No battery percentage displayed on the top right with the notch. Don't get Apple's decision on that (considered that was something that took Android years to officially put it on).

Bad UI design, but you do cave in and live with it. Apple getting away with so many things since Steve passed away.

      • The designer of the notch deserves an uppercut.

    • I'm not sure if this deserved a neg.
Blunt? Yeah… But kind of reasonable.
I'm a fussy user, hate lag, switch apps frequently, and I found my 6 and my 6s frustrating over 6 months ago when i last used them.

Now unashamedly using an Aquos S2 and I like it for what it is, but accept I'll want to change in 6-9 months.

But it cost me $200. Positive trade off IMO.

      • +2

ios 12 would be g pretty ood on a 6s, not sure about the 6 though.

        • +1

6 is only 1GB of RAM
          6S is fine on 12

          • @0jay: usable on the 6, using it as we speak. Very minor lag.
But theres no way id pay $530 for a 6s lol

    • +1

Opinion is no reason to neg

  • +3

Somebody put the SE at a dirt cheap price. I could use a second phone and it's just so aesthetically pleasing.

    • +1

Yeah, I've been quietly waiting for a good SE deal to come along.

      • I don't think its gonna happen. Saw some really good SE deals until they were discontinued but now they're at full price because I suspect retailers know they can charge like mofos

    • +1

Love my $299 SE. Or should I say I love ozbargain for finding me one for me and my partner.

  • +4

    Upvoted.
Mechanical button and headphone jack for the win.

New handset for peace of mind re warranty.

It would have been a good upgrade from my mum, if she wasn’t on a contract!

    • The best kind of jack.

      • It gives a good head jack

  • +2

What did Samsung release in 2015 again?

    • +1

      S6

      • +2

Is that phone still receiving updates?

  • -4

Can easily get an iPhone 7 on Gumtree for $500. Highly recommended over this.

    • +3

      A stolen one, sure.

  • +7

I’m still using my original 6S (recently upgraded to IOS12). Still going strong!

  • Locked with Telstra?

    • Phones over 2 years old (and this is way over that) should be unlocked or able to be for free

    • iPhones are never locked

  • Damn I remember these being $1500 a few years ago. That was for a 128gb model though. That being said 32gb is a bit of a tight fit these days. Might be worth investing in a little iCloud storage if you can.

  • Great phone. Old but great. Very snappy on iOS12.
This was the last flagship phone that apple released with a headphone jack.
