Sorry, wasn't here last time, what's the catch, this is scam?

Dodgy dodgy dodgy. These are Volume License Keys, generally stolen/not the property of the people selling them, or procured in non-Microsoft supported ways (via dodgy OEM channels).
There is a chance that these are likely to get deactivated in the future.

  • Another windows key retailer hey….

    seems legit lols.

My usual response, why spend money to break the law/eula anyway?

Makes you wonder why the mods allow these posts in the first place…

  • Not a bargain can get these all over eBay

  • I never understood why people would pay for a pirated copy of a movie. Then I keep seeing posts like this…

Illegal software keys are not bargains…

For people who don't know, Windows 10 can run unactivated forever. The personalisation settings are greyed out and there's a watermark, but it is otherwise fully functional. You will receive all updates, security and feature, etc.

If you're a university student (or otherwise still have access to a .edu email address), check On The Hub to see if your school allows you to claim a free Windows 10 Education key. The key is yours forever and is not tied or trackable by the school. Education has more features than Pro and almost equivalent to Enterprise.

As for Office, try LibreOffice (still branch), give it a chance and see if you can live with it. They're all capable of saving in OpenDocument and Microsoft Office formats.

  • Negging due to major issue with retailer - selling illegitimate software keys.

  • For anyone running Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 you can still legally upgrade to Windows 10 for free. All you have to do is install Windows 10. If you choose to upgrade your existing OS, once the upgrade has finished, Windows 10 will be activated. If you do a clean install, you will need to enter your Windows 7/8.x once the install of Windows 10 has finished.

You will get a lifetime digital license. Anytime you reinstall Windows 10, you won't need to enter a product key, as Microsoft will see there is a digital license attached to your PC and automatically activate it, without a product key.
