    • You talking about netflix and youtube? Or are there more apps samsung loading up on their tv?

If you like to run more android apps. Better off with a tv box.

      • Yeah Netflix I use normally on my current Samsung tv. And I also purchased a nvidia shield recently. So from what I am hearing probably it may work ok?

        • From what i can see sony is running a version of android tv. So netflix should be there. You already have an nvidia shield which should serve you well in the future if ever these smart tv manufacturers abandone their smart tv os and apps.

        • It will be all sweet man this tv has netflix built in so you just press the button punch in ur username pw and done

  • Just nabbed this sweet deal.
Sony for this price is a no brainer.

  • how long will this be on sale for?

and whats the returns process like for amazon if theres an issue?

    • Generally Amazon are pretty good for returns. No idea about bulky items though

      • Previous experience for Amazon is you arrange your own return and then they will refund the item cost plus shipping. I was asked to make a new order as replacement process not available in AU yet. Not sure about now.

        • Yeah that's what I've encountered so far with my returns. No idea why they haven't got a replacement process in place yet though, which amazes me

  • How would this compare to X9000E? Currently have the 65" version of X9000E but will need to get another tv when we move next month.

My TV is being delivered Friday morning :)

    • Did you recieve your tv yet the comment below says hes is crap just wondering hows yours?

      • Yeah they left it outside my door without signature. Have not tested it yet

        • I have email saying it requires signature.

      • Everything was good with my tv.

No scratches and no bleeding issues

  • Just grabbed it at $786 after price drop back to the original posting price.
6% shop back not 10% anymore.

Good bedroom TV with Sony soundbar picked up on another deal posted.

  • just received my TV after 2 days :) awesome amazon done it again

    • WARNING GUYS, mine is defective!!!! there is light bleeding all the top of the screen and there's a crack too with lines all over the screens

      • Thanks for the heads up. Have you tried to contact Amazon to resolve the issue?

        • I was going to hit the refund button but will only refund 17 dollars for return shipping which I think it'll cost a lot more to return this thus just wrote to Amazon to see if they can give me a prepaid return label.

Very disappointed with the build of this tv.

Also the wifi seems to have issues connecting to services e.g. tv software download, Netflix and YouTube despite it saying wifi connected

          • @jOlv: @jOlv So sorry to hear that :(
Please let us know how you go

          • @jOlv: They should refund the return shipping costs after they receive it back.

  • I clicked the email me when available button and bam. 10% off with cr. Maybe when they get cancellations stock becomes available.

    • So you got one at 786 plus 10%

I was supposed to receive the 55inch model yesterday but Toll delivery team missed to put it on the delivery truck (atleast that's Toll customer care's excuse), so the TV will be delivered on Monday(31st Dec 2018). I wasn't happy with the excuse so called Amazon customer care and this is how it ended, I hope it helps other OzBargainers waiting for their TVs to be delivered as well.

Stage-1 : Front line support officer said she will fill a form to inform Toll team that customer is not happy and wanted me to wait till Monday. My answer - Sorry Not acceptable, escalate to Supervisor.

Stage-2 : Supervisor after all apologies, offered a free extension of the prime trial to one more month and wanted me to wait till Monday for the TV delivery. My answer - Sorry That is not acceptable, I was sent an sms by Toll last night informing the delivery will be completed between 8am to 8pm today and someone has to be available to sign & collect it. I was sitting at home all day and no one bothered to inform that the shipment is not coming. Deliver the TV today even if it ends up late tonight.

Supervisor puts my call on hold for 15 mins.

Stage-3 : New offer - a.Free extension of prime trial for one more month plus b.50% of the TV cost ($393) refunded to my CC plus c.Accept the TV delivery on Monday (31st December 2018). My Answer : I accepted this offer on a note that the TV will be delivered on Monday without any further Drama.

    Hope it helps. Cheers.

@Spending2Much: It was a 50min call with Amazon C.Care though but worth it

            • @RazrRox: respect dude. in the past i've had the same situation happen with the Good guys. missed 2 days of work because of it. didn't think there was anything i could do. well done!

              • @Rom: @Rom Thanks bud. I usually let go of such delays but this time it was school holidays so my kid was at home and my old tv has been picked up the same day. So no TV at home with a kid in holiday mood bad combi…. Didn't have a choice but fight 🙂

    • +1

Thanks mate. I did the same thing today and had the same outcome - 50% discount for my delayed delivery. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Happy NY!

      • You are welcome. Happy NewYear to you too.

My order took a U-turn, so here is the update

TV did not arrive on Monday as well, called Amazon again, long story short - Amazon refunded the other 50% as well, so TV is now free. I ended up picking it myself on Monday and unfortunately, it has a crack on the top of the screen.

Now Amazon don't wanna budge, they basically want me to keep it or throw it, upto me.

        • Is he damage cosmetic and tv is still useable or the damage into the actual screen?

          • @xoom: TV is usable however has a 10 cm crack from the top frame and in that some 6 cm is a black spot.

        • To be fair, it's kinda not cost you anything up till now though….

          • @Spending2Much: unfortunately it is not, I was asked by Amazon to pick it up myself so had to travel 110kms to pick up the TV which unfortunately is a broken one.

      • Would you please for the rest of us in the same issue give some more details such as the name of the person you spoke to and the time of day and method of contact you had.

  • Would the Vodafone TV be a good match up with this TV or does it have enough built in features?

    • +2

Smart tv features stop after a few years.

So an Android box eventually is the way to go.

    • I have two vodafone tv now. I liked the first one i bought so much. I decided to buy a second for my folks.

      So easy to use.

    • Yep grab one of em. Think they are still going for $72

      • Sure are. Just bought a second one a few days ago.

  • Sweet picked up a vodafone tv now to find a soundbar to match any suggestions?

  • +2

Just set mine up and watched a bunch of 4k youtube clips. I'm pretty impressed with the quality. I think at this price you really can't get anything better.

I came from a Toshiba FHD 46" LCD TV - also bought from Amazon GERMANY: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76169

Looks like I'll upgrade every few years for ~800 AUD via Amazon…

  • Set mine up last night (49" version). Big upgrade from a 24" Samsung PC monitor :/

Very happy with it. Only minor disappointment is no built-in Bluetooth transmitter (for connecting to amp). No biggie though.

Might be able to use one of those taotronics ones to enable it? I've only ever used them as receivers though..

  • My arrived broken… Amazon sending a new one.. what a pain!

    • This is worrying… there seems to be a lot of broken deliveries.
      .
      What's wrong with your one?
Are they going to take the broken one away when they deliver the replacement?

      • Just saw the other replies..

The screen are cracked. Looks like it had taken a hit in the bottom of the box near the bottom edge of the screen.

Amazon were good, covering all costs, priority shipping a new one.

        • UPDATE…

Amazon told me that my replacement TV would be delivered yesterday so I took the day off to be here between 8am - 8pm … no delivery. Called Toll at 3pm, they told me it missed the truck and wont be coming today. No update from Amazon.

Speak to Amazon, they are very apologetic and "appreciate my feedback" and will arrange to have it delivered today (Saturday) by midday. I call Toll today, no delivery happening today.

Currently speaking to Amazon customer service about cancelling the order or getting compensation for my time. Will report back.

Can see a trip to JB HIFI in my future!

  • Received mine and unfortunately mine has an issue with the tv panel not correctly glued to the frame. It's probably a 10cm "crack" which is very visible.

    Hopefully getting a replacement won't be painful…

  • Mine arrived broken too. Two cracks in either side of the screen. Rang Amazon, they now tell me that they can't replace it as they don't have any more stock, so I'll just get a refund and have to return it.

It's all a bit frustrating and I was a bit irritated. They mentioned potentially being able to purchase for the same price if/when they get stock again, but I have lost confidence in this particular TV from all these issues.

    • Mine was delivered yesterday and damaged as well. There are a LOT of cracks on the top area of the screen.
Same for me, get a refund and return the TV.
Just wondering which carrier do you plan to use to send it back? Ideally it can be picked up by the carrier.
Most of the freight companies only do B2B and B2C?

      • +1

I booked my return via interparcel.com.au

They are an aggregator website that offers you options including fastway, startrack, fedex etc

Amazon credited me the full return amount as soon as I sent them a copy of the invoice.

      • +1

I complained about the hassle of having to arrange for the return myself ("what if I can't fit it in my car?" etc), then customer assist told me to hang on to it for now and they'll arrange a courier to collect it.

  • +1

Gee a lot appear to be stuffed. Pallet must have been dropped

    • Yeah… it's pretty worrying.
My delivery is scheduled for Friday.

Fingers crossed my TV was near the top of the pallet. -_-

      • Good luck! Let us know how you go.

I'm now worried that the replacement one on the way will also be damaged. Thinking about cancelling my order and just heading down to JB HIFI on the weekend instead.

  • All Amazon are offering me is a return label and a $20 voucher.

  • Yep mine has a gap at the top and a small crack coming from where the bezel pushes on the LCD panel slightly. Pretty bummed.

  • Wow. So many replies with faulty and damaged goods.
    Mine hasn't been posted yet.
Might have been that shipment was faulty?

  • +1

Mine was damaged as well, lots of cracks on the screen from the top.

Need to return the TV. Can anyone please recommend an easy freight company that picks up from Brisbane to Amazon?

The big ones seems only do B2B and B2C.

  • +1

Damn. So many getting a damaged tv. It sure does sound like a dropped pallet. Specially if the box shows minimal damage.

  • +3

Mine arrived today unbroken. Works great and looks great. Arrived 3 days after the delivery date though

    • +2

      Yay… a good news story!
      There is hope…

  • +1

Received my 55” yesterday, no problems. Delivered on time.

    Looks fabulous.

  • +1

Recived mine and its great no problems

  • +2

    Received mine too, no problems.

  • So how much backlight bleeding is acceptable? None? a bit? Watching the TV in the dark I can see a few light spots from the edge of the TV. Is this normal?

    • for this price range, you would expect a bit of backlight bleed but not a lot, its very subjective

  • I have a different story
I bought and then called to cancel. They agree with it and will cancel /intercept the shipping
It got delivered when I was not at home yesterday.
This is gonna be interesting for the hassle returning it back

  • Arrived in perfect condition guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

  • +2

Might have been a bit hasty with my previous comment. TV has three areas of light bleed and has terrible blacks more like cloudy greys. Amazon have been good so far organising refund/return but how do these units make it through qc note to self test tv thoughrouly before wall mounting.

  • How do U file a complaint in Amazon after like a 2 weeks?
