      They bank on people who forget to turn off auto-renew. Or really get to like the service. Even though those would be in a minority on ozBargain it seems to pay off for them, why else would they keep repeating this kind of deal?

      • I have signed up to so many of these deals I am worried these businesses might be about to go out of business. The credit risk exposure is expanding too fast for my liking at this rate

  • I also received There is a problem after payment on amaysim page. I then logged in (still same window/tab) and change to different credit card and payment was completed then and can see SIM will be sent status.

    So the purchase wasn't completed in first go but rather in subsequent steps, would that affect the tracking and hence cash back, TA?

    • I've submitted a ticket and it's now added as pending however the cashback amount is $3 not $35. I did purchase using the code 10FOR10 for the $30 10gb plan.

      What shall I do now, send another enquiry or wait for 3 months?

          If you had an error at payment and want to avoid the process of lodging a claim after 7 days, seems the best bet and most obvious solution is to jump on chat, cancel, then re-order. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but this is definitely an issue at amaysim's end and they hopefully sort it out soon.

            • @CodeXD: I'd be using a new email address, just in case. I'd also be waiting for a quieter time to re-purchase, in case the payment errors are due to heavy traffic.

    Hey TA - thanks fr the deal!
    I got the error message too and when I clicked 'try again' it said the order has already been processed but in my case, my card hasn't been deducted.
    I got an email 'it says 'to finish your order contact us by live chat' - probably to pay again.
    Should I go ahead or just star again later with a different email?

      Hi KT. Not sure why these error messages at payment are occurring (maybe being OzBargained?). I've pinged amaysim hoping for an explanation. If you're 100% sure you haven't been charged (see note 13 in OP if you need help), I'd definitely be trying later during a quieter time.

        • I can only offer my opinion. If it was me, I'd start afresh to avoid any complications with Cashback. Every test we ran this morning tracked perfectly, and reported no errors at purchase. I'd prefer to go down this track, but will leave it with you for final decision.

      Why credit history? You paid for it today. If your renewal payment fails, no service.

    Worked for me with no errors, paying by credit card. I have a long standing account with Amaysim (expired SIM) and took up the previous Cashrewards offer 2 weeks ago as well.

    I used a new (third) email address but the same physical address and details. The Cashrewards notifier arrived 15 minutes later.

      Change the payment method to BPAY to avoid any future charges.

      Payment Method > Change > Select BPAY / Vouchers from the drop-down menu > Save.

        If I changed it to BPay will the plan rollover to a new month and I will have outstanding charges?

  • 2hours and 15 minutes later, it still hasn’t tracked for me. It shows in my click history and the money has been taken/email confirmation sent.
    Can I still expect it to track? I followed all the steps correctly.

    If you don't receive a tracking email from Cashrewards after a couple of hours and/or you see an error after completing your purchase through Amaysim, use the Amaysim Live Chat and cancel your order. It doesn't take long; they're very friendly and efficient.

    Once the order is cancelled, start a new one through the Cashrewards offer. Make sure to use a different email address (or add +XXX to your Gmail, i.e. [email protected]) when signing up to Amaysim so that it recognises you as a new customer.

    Amaysim was probably getting OzBargain'd a few hours ago when I made my attempt, which likely resulted in the Amaysim website error that I saw after completing my purchase. I assume this is the reason it didn't track through Cashrewards.

    Cancelling and then signing back up allowed my new order to track through Cashrewards within 10 minutes. Hope this helps!

      Also, for those curious, it's easy to disable auto-renewal. You can only do this once the SIM is activated, however. This is usually automatically done within a few days.

      Note that the 28 day period might reset once you actually insert the SIM into your device, regaining you the days missed while waiting for the card to arrive. This doesn't seem to happen every time, though.

      Log in to your account > Manage plan > Click the "Every 28 days" to the right of "Auto-renew" > Turn off auto-renew.

      Once you've done this, remove your payment method by going to Payment method > Change > BPAY > Continue.

      Now your service won't renew after the original 28 days expires!

        Check your spam/junk folders. If you don't see the email within a couple of hours, refer to above. Make sure you don't have any adblockers enabled. Best idea is to install a clean browser and only use it for Cashrewards. That way you don't have any add-ons or settings interfering with your tracking. I use Opera or Chrome, works a treat.

    • Usually doesn't take too long if you port during the business hours. If you are currently using an optus serivce or optus reseller, it might take longer as Amaysim also uses Optus.

      • So true, last time porting from OVO to Amaysim, it took amazingly 84 hours! and countless contact to help hotline.

        I gathered the first problem is that OVO is not on the porting out list from the Amaysim, I have to use Other/Unknown option, that's Thursday afternoon. Nothing happened on Friday, called in Friday afternoon to tell them it's OVO, another Optus reseller. Nothing happened on Saturday, called help to be told that the request had been re-submitted on Friday after I called. Nothing on Sunday, Monday morning, called again on Monday morning, was told OVO didn't release the number, they would contact OVO again. Finally before Monday noon it went through, quite a nightmare.

        So Optus users be aware.

I only used exactly 28/30days for each prepaid and discontinued that number, I should be fine right since I don't have 4 active numbers when activating?

      Many years of SIM hopping experience - at least every 28-31 days. Now 4 with Amaysim to activate within weeks…

    We hope you’re enjoying CASHREWARDS!
    Our system has recorded your first click to amaysim Mobile.
    If you've already clicked and made a purchase…fantastic! We will send you an email within 7 days to let you know the Cashback you have earned. Your rewards will also then appear in your CASHREWARDS account.

    And the click is tracked in 'My Click History', but should there be another email confirming the transaction yet?

      Thanks TA. On your advice I cancelled the original order through Amaysim chat, then went through the process again using IE with Adblockers off and no 3rd party cookie blocking. Credit has been applied to my CR account!

    Thanks TA. I cancelled the order that resulted in error page (but still somehow went through) using amaysim chat (they said to use a new email as this one is already verified).

    I signed up again with a new email and received the CR tracking email within 10 minutes.

    I don't trust these cashrewards programs, but I suppose I might get use out of the SIM if I port over one of my recently used up Kogan SIMs, which would give me a full 28 days of Amaysim (though 10 GB is rather disappointing when Kogan gets you used to 40…).

    • Hi Jackfruit. Please see here and/or item 14 in the OP. They are your two options. Also note that as per item 10 in the OP, you're entitled to just one amaysim $35 Cashback from this promo in your CR account. Any others will be rejected.

      You are correct on both your first two questions.

      Once you receive the sim and activate it you will be able to go into the Payments section and there is reference to auto-renew. You may not see the reference to the auto-renew, or the ability to change it, until after you have activated the sim (after it arrives in the mail and you have it in your possession). You can immediately turn off the auto-renew and you won't be charged anything further.

          If it's your first time also make sure you have adblock or similar browser add-ons disabled. Potentially if you are doing this from someone elses network (e.g. your employer) maybe the tracking won't work and you either need to claim manually or cancel your order within ~3 hours. For best results use the CR app via your phone and on your mobile network, not the wireless network.

          I use Google Chrome Canary with the CR add-on enabled and I have pretty much 100% success rate with CR tracking and cashback.

  • /edit/ Disregard my comments below, for some reason the confirmation of tracking email got caught up in my Spam folder this time despite maybe 30+ previous CR emails arriving without issue. It appears they might be using a new email address and maybe that was what triggered the spam rule. Tracking email arrived in 15 minutes after purchase. /edit/

    Clicked through from CR website with CR add-on enabled, used 10for10 code and paid $10 for the 10gb plan, verified my new email address with amaysim, click through shows on My Rewards page but have not received confirmation email from CR after 2 hours. The entry for this deal on My Rewards looks the same as the OVO offer does from the other week - sitting in Pending. I did receive a timely email from CR confirming the tracking for the OVO purchase though.

    Should I assume I'm fine? Amaysim have confirmed my purchase, CR has record of the click through..just no email
